How can I get the ink of the printer dry on the transparencies? -

I have hp inkjet printer. for overhead projector presentation, I have printed a diagram on the transparency. It s been 5 hours now. The ink on the transparency is still wet. I m kinda scared as it may smudge. How can that ink be dried, when it s on a transparency?

Yep, you need special transparencies for the type of printer you are using, in your case, injet transparencies. I think HP sell them, but you dont have to use their own brand, and brand of inkjet transparencies will work just fine. They cost a little bit extra, but they dry completely within minutes. You are lucky you didnt break your printer by using regular OHP transparencies-they can melt to the rollers!!! This transparency is unlikely to dry unsmudged so i d go and pick up the correct ones and try again. When it works, its a real nice effect.

Hi Inkjet cannot print on transparency unless you bought the specific paper for the Inkjet. The only thing left is to let it dry in a cool place. I use a hairdryer at low speed directly over the transparency so it won t smudge. Even after it is dried, you cannot touch it or it will still smear.

Below is a PDF that has info about what you are doing. Basic run down about your problem is the media you are printing to. There is a type media for inkjet, (wet printing) and a media for laser (dry printing). You have the wrong transparency media in this case

Easy, go out and buy INKJET transparencies and print on the CORRECT SIDE ! The plastic needs to be specially coated to accept inkjet inks. Same as if you plan to use them in a laser printer, you need LASER transparencies

How can I get cyan printer ink off my hands quickly? -

I have got ink on my hands and start a new job on saturday , how can I get it off before then .

I get mine off using a nail brush and soap. You can also use diluted bleach but make sure it s diluted. Bleach makes your hands stick to high heaven but works - or at least gets off the top layer. The nail brush is best and safest but you have to do it a few time. I also find that a soak in the bath gets a lot of ink off. I have had hands like a Smurf many times and it will come off within the next two days for you.

Depends on the ink. Meths or turps may do it but be sure to wash your hands thoroughly and preferably moisturise them afterwards. Alternatively since you have a couple of days just leave it. The skin on your hands is continually and fairly rapidly replaced. I would have thought that after two days the vast bulk of it will be gone without you needing to do anything.

warm water and soap. soak you hands in warm soapy water for 5 minutes, then wash. Ink is water soluble- there is no need for harsh cleaners.

I am sure that within the next couple of days, normal washing will have worn it away.

Try nail polish remover.

How do you print something larger? -

My family is planning to go to Seaworld, San Diego, And we re using Mapquest, because my mom won t use anything else. The problem is When I printed the directions, the writing was too small for my mom to read. So, Does anyone know how to enlarge the writing so my mom can read it? Please help soon because our trip is planned tommorow.

You could screenshot the map page, then enlarge it in a photo program.

Someone at work usually makes the mistake of printing the web page instead of using the quot;Printquot; button on the page. But that is not necessarily self evident or easy to find, because when I just looked for the Print button I had to scroll down the page to the top of the map of the route. See if that prints large enough.

take out paper and a pen and write it larger

What is the life expectancy of an average laser printer in a small business setting? -

Just doing a report and wondered if anyone knew the general answer to this... no specifics... medium output for printer.

All the printers have a rated capacity. Most of the printer has a design life of five years at rated print volume. Normal laser printer which we use at home or small office is able to take 1000 to 2000 pages printing per month. Multiply the capacity with 60 months. That brings it to 60000 to 120000 print outs and that s its design life.

Business settings vary, but lets assume you have an HP Laserjet 2430 (a minimum workgroup monochrome laser printer). Monochrome laser printers have consumable parts which are: Tray 2 amp; 3 Pickup and Feed Rollers Tray 1 Pickup Roller Tray 1 Separation Pad Transfer/Charging Roller Fuser Image Roller (Color Laser only) Image Transfer Belt (Color Laser only) These are parts you replace over the life of the printer in addition to the toner cartridge. For an HP laserjet 2430 the fuser has a life of about 125,000 pages but can last in some cases to about 300,000+. Printer parts companies are now providing roller kits which includes everything mentioned above, except the fuser. Non-consumable assemblies that can fail, are: Tray 1 and Tray (2 amp; 3) paper pickup assemblies Laser scanner assembly Main Motor Formatter Assembly DC Controller High Voltage Power Supply Fans Door hinges LCD Screen Of course these things are replaceable. So really, a laser printer can last as long as there are parts available for it. In a business setting though, productivity is increased when older technology is replaced with newer technology that provides faster printing and more features in addition to lower cost supplies. The typical life cycle of a laser printer in a business setting can be anywhere from 1 year to 5 years depending on the business. Laser printers are made to be repairable which increases their life cycle. Case Example: I have two HP Laserjet 5si printers, one in each of two computer labs. There is a confirmed defect with the top cover assembly in this model printer. The top cover assembly has been discontinued by HP so I will have trouble getting this part. From a business sense I would choose a newer replacement model. Such as a laserjet 4350N.

decades if not abused

mine last more than 10 years - HP Laserjet IIp It all depedns - on the brand, the usage and the way you care for it Minimum 5 years I say

use this formula : sum of Papers * sum of cartrige =5000000

What could be causing a quot;Data Execution Preventionquot; event when printing to a network printer ? -

The network printer is a Cannon D880, hosted by a Windows XP desktop. There are no known issues, regarding printing, from the physically connected desktop. When I attempt to print a JPEG file, or a test page, from either of two Dell, Windows XP, notebooks, via the wireless network, the printing fails, and I receive a data execution prevention message. However, I am able to print from the notebooks, from within Adobe Acrobat.

How do you get the printer to recognize that the cartridge is now full? -

Is there a special tool for re-setting the chip that tells the printer that the cartridge is full?

Nope. Did you refill the cartridge? Shame on you, that can damage the printer and is probably why it s not working right.

take it our and turn off the printer then put the ink in and turn it on!

Those things are seldom right anyway. Change the cartridge when you run out of a color of ink.

How do I switch my printer to the photo paper? -

I have a HP Photosmart C7200 All-in-One and Vista. I m using Picasa to edit my photos, but whenever I go to print I can t get it to use the photo paper instead of the normal paper. I loaded it correctly, I just don t know how to switch it over.

Go in the printers setup menu before printing and select HP glossy paper. Note that you can also do nice print even if you just choose normal mode in printing. Because you are using glossy paper, the print will come out just like as if you had chosen glossy paper. No difference actually. Just print normal, and don t use high output or BEST. Select normal print.

Right click you printer, click on properties, click on printing preferences, click paper quality, under paper type choose the type of paper you want to print on, click apply and then ok. This will allow you to print on the Photo paper. Just remember to switch the paper type when you done back to the Original paper type when your done.

I suggest that you use Visual Photo++.It is a powerful utility that uniquely supports to browse photos with popup thumbnails and enhance the photos with lots of advanced auto image processing algorithms. Visual Photo++ is not only a comprehensive application ideal for acquiring, organizing, viewing, and sharing your images, but also a powerful photo enhancing software for automatically adjusting image s exposure, color, despecking image s noise and so on.

Go to file, print and then select properties... You should be able to change paper type

What type of cable would I need to connect my printer to my laptop? -

I have a printer with a USB socket on it but have lost the cable for it. Do I just buy a cable to go into the USB port of the printer and the USB port of the laptop or would it go into a different socket on the laptop (there is a socket on the laptop that looks like a telephone socket!). MIght be a stupid question but I really dont know! Can anyone help?

Buy yourself another USB cable You need a USB A-B cable. One end (the smaller end) goes into the printer. Other end goes into a free USB port on your laptop.

One that fits in the back on your printer.

usb

All you need is a simple device USB cable. It will have a standard USB connector on one end, and a smaller USB connector on the other end. The small end goes to the printer, and the standard end goes to your computer. They are at pretty much any store (target, wal-mart, office max, radio shack, even big lots).

how about i come and fix it for you....lol

just use a usb cable that fits both ends

your printer probly uses a usb check and see the socket that looks like a phone socket is for your wireless cable.

Normal usb

As said you need a USB A to B cable, the flat end goes into your lappy and the square end into the printer. If you re in the UK go to www.ebuyer.com you ll pick one up there for a couple of quid.

Just ask for a USB cable because all USB cables are the same and it does not matter for what you use it

a USB shud do da job :D:D:D:Dd

USB cable

a USB that fits in your laptop....

If your printer has a USB port, then you would need a USB cord to connect it to your computer that has an open USB port to plug it into.

You need a USB A to B cable, the flat end goes into your lap antop d the square end into the printer. Try PC World or www.scan.co.uk

you need a USB 2.0 cable. the two ends of the cable are different. the socket on the laptop has this symbol on it; http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/236…

Can I connect a printer to a computer thats a different type? -

I have an HP printer and I was wondering if I could connect it to my Emachines computer. Do I need anything extra to do it or is it better to connect a printer the same kind as my computer?

You can connect any brand printer to any computer, the only problem that may happen is the computer may not have the required drivers. To test: have the computer on. Plug the printer into the computer with printer power on. You should get a popup saying quot;new hardware foundquot; followed by quot;the device is ready to usequot; OR quot;if you have the device disk, insert in nowquot; If it asks for the disk, the drivers are not installed in the computer and the printer won t work until they are.

I use epson, dell, and canon on my macs and windows machines. only the dell refuses to work with my macs. the others play nice and print for all of the machines

you can do this, without any problems as long as the cable fits and you have the software that came with the printer.

Whats the difference between horizontal and vertical dpi for a printer? -

If I wanted to start up a digital print company what would I need hardware wise? -

We run a web design and development company and have a lot of relatively small run print work which we farm out, however we are considering leasing whatever print equipment we would need in order to be able to do everything quot;in housequot; but we re blind as to what we would actually need - advice apprreciated.

Hi To start such a company, you will need a 40quot; deskjet plotter if you are planning to print large format poster which is very much in demand I might add. You will need a file Ripper, a good Server to manage your printers etc... so you can rip more than one file at a time especially if their are large multiple files to print simultaneously. Get Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Professional Reader, Illustrator, Corel, and Microsoft Office to begin with. Get a good Color Laser ( I suggest HP) and a cheap Deskjet for everyday use. You will also need a good black/white Laser printer for document printing. I suggest getting in touch with printing companies to get them to sell you paper cut to your needs. It s cheaper and you don t have to invest in different size of paper.

You will need a digital color press, bamp;w press, paper cutter, scoring machine, folding machine, booklet maker, adobe creative suite, quark xpress, microsoft, macintosh computers, coil binder, maybe a large format printer if you have the demand. Laminating and mounting equipment. Variable data software and mailing equipment is a plus. Lots of storage for paper. Do not buy cheap paper (especially used paper from other printers). Digital equipment will get ruined and give you too many problems on cheap paper. It s not worth it. Make sure you have climate control in your building. Digital printing is on-demand printing, so be ready for insta-gratification clients and projects.

a good laser printer is a must for a digital print company. also a good copier and photo paper. also a easy print thing where u put the camera into it and the photo s print is good

Will i be able to scan documents even if i plug in my all in one printer to the airport express? -

I have an airport express 802.11n base station with an all-in-one hp printer attached to it. Now i can print wirelessly, but will I be able to scan wirelessly to it? Will the scanned images be sent to my computer wirelessly? I am using a vista computer by the way.

You can only print wirelessly. If you want to scan you will have to have the printer hooked up to the computer via a USB cable. This is a common misconception about wireless printers. People believe that they can do everything wirelessly, but in reality, the only thing you can do wirelessly is print. Kind of makes you go Huh! Why get a wireless all-in-one, when it is really a wireless printer.

sure enought if your connected to it wirelessly it should scan to your pc.

How can I print wireless without using WiFi but using an existing printer and laptop? -

I ve tired amp; tried to get a linksys WiFi printserver to work on my network and have failed all 4678 times (give or take about 5 tries). My Dell laptop does have bluetooth, the printer is an HP Deskjet 1220c wide format. However there will be others printing from their desktops/laptops too. So if you could please keep that in mind when giving suggestions I d really appreciate it. Thanks.

Are you asking how to print from a laptop to a desktop printer? If so, heres what you do. Go to the control panel and find your printer, I m sure you ll see it under one of the headings. Then right click on it and click quot;Share Printerquot; or quot;Share printer via network or blutoothquot; Then find out what you named the computer and the printer. Now on your laptop, go to control panel, locate where the printers are there (where they would be) and right click, add new printer. Then do what it asks you. If you have more questions ask me, I might not have explained that too well. And you have to use Wi-Fi.

By the fact that you are saying you have tried a wireless print server, I am assuming that you do have a wireless/wired network already in place. If so then you can simply connect the printer up to one computer (most suitably a desktop) and then share that printer over your network, this is a simple process and on windows assuming that you already have file amp; printer sharing set-up then you just need to right click on your printer in the control panel, select share this printer, and it will be shared over the network. From the quot;clientquot; PC s you then just need to browse to that computer over the network, and assuming they are all running the same OS then you can just double click on it and the drivers will be installed amp; it all will be set-up for you, just make sure you have the PC it is connected to switched on whenever you need to print.

I would hook the printer onto a desktop(using USB) on the network and then share it to everyone from that desktop. Then on you laptop under control panel - printers and faxes - then click add printer. select network printer then look for the coputer name that has the printer.

the laptop will need to be switched on but you can right hand click on the printer from control panel and click share.. the printer will then be visable from other computers on your network.. just go to my network places in either xp or vista and it should be there.

One way for doing this is to buy this item: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/print…

Why does my computer freeze when I plug my usb cable in for my printer? -

I have an HP Pavilion labtop and its only a year old. I have vista as well. I keep everything updated, all my usbs are fine. I ve reinstalled and installed practically anything there is to install and everytim I plug my usb cable in my computer freezes up. I have an hp photosmart c6200 all in one. Someone tell me whats wrong here.

probably because its old and retarded (im not being mean cause if u didnt know retarded means slow in the dictionary)

Try this. It takes about 10 minutes to do and hopefully it will fix the problem. At times HP you will get a glitch when using the printer software and you will need to uninstall and then reinstall I recommend this procedure for that problem Add/remove and remove all components for the printer Now do a complete clean up with the HP level 4 driver removal utility tool This should end your problem When done, reinstall the software (Make sure you wait until it tells you to connect the USB cable)

If you are sure you have the latest driver, then try to use the quot;safely remove hardwarequot; feature by clicking the little green arrow icon located in the tray next to the clock in the bottom right corner of the desktop. Plug in your USB after it says it is safe.

How can you make it so you can print something and then highlight it without smudging the words? -

Every time I need to read an online article I print and and hilight so my eyes don t hurt form the computer screen, but the hilighting always smudges all the words, making it hard to read. Any ideas?

You have two options to this problem. A Laser printer or a Pigment ink printer. The only pigment ink printer available for home use are the Epson DURABrite inkjet printers. The pigment ink is water and highlighter resistant. So if you print on plain paper and the paper gets wet, it will not run/smear like the dye in printers do. If you just want a printer go for the Epson WorkForce 30 (retail $69.99). If you want an All-In-One, print, copy, scan, go for the CX7400 (retail $69.99). If you need print, copy, scan and fax, go for the CX9400F(retail $129.99, but is marked down at retail to $79.99). I am sure you can find lower prices online, but I do not like buying online, so I have given you the retail prices. For more information go to these websites: WorkForce 30- http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu… CX7400- http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu… CX9400F- http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu… I have the CX7400 and I love it. I have learned a few things about the Epson printers, so if you choose to go with an Epson, let me know so I can pass on my knowledge and money saving tips to you.

Give the page plenty of time to dry and then use a clean, quality highlighter. If the highlighter gets ink on the tip then throw it away for a new one.

well first of all please make sure that the ink in the paper is all ready dry. next you can slightly highlight the word

Use a laser printer, not an inkjet. Injet ink is soluble. Laser printer toner is not.

one, make sure it is good and dry before you highlight and two push very very lightly with the highlighter

How do I print from a Canon MP620 Printer using a Macbook not directly connected to the printer itself? -

My dad supposedly set everything up but I dont think it s connected to it whatsoever. i am soo sick of typing a longg paper upstairs on my laptop then having to email it go downstairs to our other Mac and print it off from there. Its suchhhaa drag.!

Need more info - where the printer is connected to. If your network is set up properly, and the printer is connected to the network, you should be able to find using it s IP address or by name. If it is connected to another computer on the network, you need to turn on Printer Sharing on the other computer. Fall back position - You can also try to connect to the printer using Bluetooth - depending on the distance form your computer to the printer,

How do you run a printhead cleaning cycle on your printer? -

So, two options: You can either ask an HP technician on a live chat, free (no webcam no microphone) on their website and without hassles. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/ispe Or check out this article online: http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/…

Start Settings Printers and faxes Right click the printer icon Click printer preferences Click the service tab Click service this device Click the clean the print cartridge

open up your printer properties. in the general tab there should be a tab called printing preferences.. open it up and there should be a maintence tab.. that should allow you clean your heads.

What kind of printer is good that does not have expensive cartridges? -

I have a Cannon Multipass F60, and the cartridges are so expensive. Can anyone reccommend a colour printer that is good on ink?

Ink from any company is going to be expensive, its the way they make their money, they will give away the printer, just so that you buy the ink. But we all need a printers. So, if you must buy a ink printer the cheapest way to go is with HP, Lexmark, are cheap, but the ink is out of this world.you will pay $45.00 for just one color cartridge. Canon will make you buy all the ink cartridges even if must are full. and so will Brother, by the way, all this machines are made in the same factory, and included in that list are all Dell printers. Epson, will have great pictures, but the price of ink will bring you to the poor house. Kodak machines are proprietary machines, and you have to buy about everything from them. meaning EXPENSIVE. so back to HP, you can get the ink cartridges refilled, for half the cost. you can buy ink for an HP anywhere. HP is very easy to install. and most idiotic tech guys can help you with it. So I hope this is helpful Good luck!

I stick with a low cost epson. I used to refill myself, but have found very cheap generics on e-bay so I don t bother. Do some research. See what printer you find, they check e-bay for generic ink. Whenever I order ink,, I have gotten it within 2 days. The ink sellers sell tons.

right now the kodaks have very cheap ink thye cost like 22 bucks for all the cartritges combined. I just bought the kodak esp 7 today and it prints nicely but if you dont need wireless you can get the esp for a little over $100

use 32 column dot matrix printer. new cartridge and refilled one is cost saving.

How do u make 2 computers share 1 printer? -

I have a Lexmark X5150 printer. I want to make the 2 compputers prit ot from 1 printer.

u need a usb cable and hook up with your priter to the comeputer

You will need a hub or switch to connect the 2 computers together first. The computers will need to be on the same workgroup. Then, add the printer to on of the computers. after that share the printer. On the other computer, go to add printer and search for it. After you that follow the wizard and your done.

One computer has to act as the print server. 1. Install the printer on this computer (computer1). 2. Go to the properties of this printer and enable Sharing - give it a sharename e.g. computer1\printername (call it whatever you like doesn t have to be printername) 3. Go to computer2 and go to startgt;run and paste in: \\computer1\printername. You can also go to add printer and add a standard tcp/ip port and then \\computer1\printername. It may prompt you for the driver, have the printer driver file handy. 4. Add this printer and save as default 5. Obviously make sure computer1 is on and ensure there aren t any firewall rules blocking computer2 from accessing it.

First you must make a network. To do this, you must connect an ethernet cable ( RJ-45 straight through) to your computers. The socket will lit up after detecting connectivity. Then, you must set up your network to allow printer sharing go to My Computer -gt; My Network Places. On the left sidebar, click on quot;set-up a home or small office networkquot;. There will be an option there that allows you to share printers with other computers in the network. You can now use your printer from your other computer. :D

You have to first have a network between the computers, either wired or wireless. (You could use a hub, switch or router connected with ethernet or a wireless router) Then you have to go to the pc that the printer is installed on, go to it s options and share the printer over your network.

hello, install the printer in one computer, right clic on it and share it make a network between two computers on the other computer go to control panel , add printer and choose network printer and select the printer installed in the first computer. hoping that helps you good luck

The computer that the printer is connected to can be used as a print server. It has to be turned on for the other printer to be able to print though. You will need a router that both PC s are connected to. You need to allow file and print sharing from both PC s. In Vista you go to Network and Sharing and enable Print and File sharing. Nice and easy. In XP you need follow instructions here - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using…

Either get a wireless network and set it up to print wirelessly, or attach one computer to the printer, and go to Sharing options or something like that, and click Printer/Share Printer, select the one, and I think it s good. http://askbobrankin.com/sharing_a_printe… Check that website too.

before you print anything , on your 2 computer , you click print then add printer type in the name to the new printer. then on your 2 computr click find printer then click it. then your done.

You need to network the computers then you can do it.

Yes You Can Network Them Or Just Hook Both of Them up to it

you have to be on a network in order to share pritners.

is it wireless? you should be able to pick it up by going on something like my computer. if not use a usb cable or a cd :) hope this helps x

introduce them

YOU HAVE TO NETWORK THEM

What would be the best printer for printing directly to cdrs? -

Hi Im looking at getting a printer pretty much for the sole purpose of printing directly to cdrs and dvds. Does anyone have any advice on which ones would give great results and preferably with inks that dont cost a fortune?

To CDrs and DVDs? I think you need a CD-writer or DVD-writer for this. Don t you mean from CDrs and DVDs! If that the case all printer will do fine.

You need to make sure that the printer can actually print to cd. for example http://www.seiko-precision.com/data/cms/… I have a Canon IP5300 and it is fairly alright. However if you are going to be doing lots and lots, consider buying a dedicated CD printer.

anyone only must be laser

How can I tell what a color is supposed to look like on my printer ? -

I was given a color swatch as a jpg and told to use RGB mode to print it. Do I need to know the ICC profile they used to match the color so my printout will be the same? And is there any way to reverse find the corresponding pantone tpx?

Hi Open photoshop and open the swatch. Now check to make sure that the swatch is in RGB mode. Also, when you print, tell the printer to print in RGB mode. After the print, check with the original swatch.

you need to work out the correct profile if your using a laser or inkjet printer your never going to get the correct pantone ref unless you find out your printers setting from the manufacture plus your monitor is showing you the image in RGB while in Print it is CMYK so checking your screen is set up right or the soft wear you are using is as well to make sure everything is spot on

How can I find a document that I filled out to connect to my bank? -

How do I clean the surface of a dusty printer? -

I haven t used my HP printer in years. I know it still works, but because it has been sitting untouched in my dad s automotive repair shop all this time, its surface is covered with a layer of dust and dirt. I can tell water won t do the job; it really is extremely dirty. Is it safe to use a cleaner of some kind? And if so, what cleaner would be best? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cleaning wipe work best on electrioncs. I use Lysol wipes on my computers. I also use them at work in the IT department. They work great on the very dirty keyboards, mouse s monitor s and printers in the tech shop area.

Computer cleaning products would be best. You can get quot;foaming antistatic cleanerquot; which you spray on and wipe off. You can also get cleaning wipes.

first blow it with pressed air ,you can find one bottle in a computer shop ,also you can blow it with air in a gas station ;)

How can I get my printer to print more than one copy at a time? -

I just installed windows vista and now when I go to print multiple copies of anything, only one copy actually prints. I am putting the number of copies I need in the box, so don t think that I am an idiot. Please help! I am on a network printer if that helps.

When you installed your printer drivers did they say they supported vista? Did the print drivers support XP? Go to the Printer manufacture and see if they support vista. If they do then get the print drivers for vista and install them on your computer. If the manufacture does not support vista then you can probably not get all the functions like number of copies to work.

What is the difference between a wireless print server and a usb print server? -

Also, which one should i get?

A USB print server is used when you have a home network but you don t want to share access (of the computer) with other PC s on your network.==Has to have a ethernet connection to the network. Setup: Printer to USB server. USB server in the router. A wireless print server is used when you don t want your print server attached to your network with a ethernet cable. (you use the ethernet cable to set up the server) but the the printer and the server can be in a room where there is no ethernet connection. Setup: Printer to wireless server (most are USB connections). This can be placed anywhere after setup. Which one should you get? Don t know. I don t know what your setup (# of computers, home network setup, etc) are.

How can i print consecutive pages of Microsoft Word in 1 page? -

How can i print consecutive pages of Microsoft Word in 1 page? For example: I have typed 2 pages in Microsoft Word, now I want to print those 2 pages into 1 whole page. Thanks!!!

It won t be pretty, but try this: 1. Press CTRL/A to select the entire document. (This assumes the entire document has the same font and size. If you have multiple fonts and/or sizes, you re going to have to do this piecemeal on the various fonts and sizes.) 2. Right-click in the selection and select Font from the pop-up menu. 3. Note the value in the Size combination box. Divide it by 2 and throw away any .5 you get. Type that number in the Size box. 4. Click OK. This should make all the text half as big, hopefully fitting everything on one page. It may not be readable. Hope that helps.

It s 2 pages, so you would have to condense it to one, or print on very long paper.

My new Lexmark Printer X6575 series 6500 does not print any document from the computer. What can i Do? -

Did you install the software first? Usually you do it like this. Step 1. DO NOT install printer or connect it yet... Step 2. Install software first.. Step 3. Once its all installed then plug in the printer. I would uninstall and do it like this if you haven t yet.

How do I print off a Word document that uses custom fonts? -

See topic - I used a couple of custom fonts, but my printer gets confused and doesn t print them.

try writing it in html and printing it off of internet explorer

I see we re in quite a sticky situation here. Well, one alternative would be to print screen (PRT SC button, or if you re on a laptop, fn + PRT SC), then crop the image using Paint. I have had no trouble printing custom fonts, but maybe that s just my printer.

How do I get my MacBook to wirelessly print to my printer? -

I have the printer selected in my printer selection but nothing happens when I try to print.

That all depends on the printer model and the OS X version. MacBooks came with Tiger in 2006 and much of 2007 and with Leopard after that. Please send in a new question and mention the exact model of the printer (including any quot;i, e, or nquot; at the end of the model name) as well as the version of OS X. By the way, the printer will remain listed even if it is powered off. That name in the list simply tells you that it was installed at one time. It doesn t mean it is connected to the MacBook -- it doesn t mean it isn t, either. Some printers have a print server built-in. Others come with or expect you to buy, an externally connected print server. If your printer is one of the latter type, you need to buy either the print server recommended by the manufacturer, or use either Apple s AirPort base station or a Time Capsule as a print server. To use wireless printing with Airport base station or Time Capsule as the print server, see the articles linked below. For setup through the printer s own print server, see the manufacturer s Website.

How do I prevent my printer from smudging the ink? -

Whenever I print out something, the ink on the paper is always smudged. How can I fix this?

If this is an Ink based printer then cleaning it should create a solution. If you have a toner based printer it could be dirty or a flaw with the Toner Cartridge or Fuser. Go to the manufacturers Web Site and Manuals for Cleaning and Troubleshooting would be available. Following the guidance should generate a resolution to this issue. I Hope this Helps!

How can you adjust the settings of your printer to get it to print lighter? -

I want to print an outline of a dog, but I don t want to lines to be so dark. I want them to be very faint so you must squint at them to see them. How can I go about doing this? Stupid answers will not get a 10. Thanks :)

there should be a panel that comes up when you go to print it. go to preferences and click on quot;draftquot;, this should make it lighter but not sure if it will be exactly what you want, worth trying though.

best way to do it is not on the printer but in documents go to tools in word and the bit u want faint set that bit as a watermark if i remember correctly u can adjust the contrast u nneed there too

Go to the computer store and ask for some white ink or toner. If they guy there doesn t know what you re asking about, insist to see the manager! Good luck!

How do I make my printer print white ink? -

I am using transfer paper to make a message made of black letters appear on a t shirt. The t shirt is black and I want all the white that should be on the page to come off with it but for that I need white ink to come onto the page. When printing a picture with white on it how do I make white ink print onto the page?

Like the other answers here, you don t print white ink. I have seen, in very special circumstances, white ink available (for printing on dark papers/material. In these cases, the person purchases white ink, and fills an empty cartridge (this only works if there isn t a small chip on the ink) with the white ink. The printer can t tell its printing white, it thinks its working along like usual. (You make a picture/image/text like normal, using the black color where you want the white ink to show up. You then replace the black ink cartridge with a cartridge that is filled with white ink. The printer works like it is printing the black ink, when in reality its putting white ink down) If your looking to print on t-shirts, etc, I suggest you check out US Screen Print Institutes s website. They offer some really nice printers for screen printers, and I have seen them using white ink on some of their models, but be warned, this isn t cheap technology, most of their units start at hundreds of dollars, and end up in the thousands for the really nice and large printers. Hope this helps!

Yeah, sorry mate, but it s pretty rare for printers to have white ink cos usually people print on to white paper. Best you can hope for is a very light yellow/blue/green. Well, unless you like pink, of course. Nah, probably not.

You cannot. Printers do not have white ink.

Is the t-shirt for you? Is the slogan I am a Tool ?

you are so stupid

How do I make my printer print out more than 1 page on a big picture? -

I ve been trying to print out a big picture(probably 3 or 4 pages) but every time i try to print it, it only prints out a corner of it and says page 1 of 1. So I m lost on how to get a big picture for my school project. Please help.

Admittedly I don t know everything about printers,(To include scanners, and copiers, plus fax machines), but based on the multifunction machines I ve had, (Printer/scanner, and printer/scanner/copier/fax machine. Several models), I think the largest media is 13 inches by 10-1/2 inches. The only way I ve done it, is through my Photoshop. I signed up for Worldstart.com s newsletters, and here is what they sent me recently, http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?… The workspace, does indeed look like my Photoshop. In Photoshop, I enlarge the image. I go up to Image in the top header, click on it, and scroll down to Image Size. Then click on it. This brings up the Image Size window. In it, you can increase the pixel size, which increases the image in inches. I then go up to View in the top header, click on it, and scroll down to Rulers. (And click on it) This puts a grid across my workspace. Lines going up and down, and across. I can measure the image this way. Now I go back up to the Tools Menu, and click on the Crop Tool. With this tool, I can crop out a rectangle the size of a 11 inch by 8-1/2 inch piece of paper. This will be one-part of the total image size. I go up to File, and down to Save As, give it a name, and save it. I can then do this for the other rectangular image shapes. After saving them, I print each one out, and put it together. Photoshop can go up to 30,000 pixels. A photo or image, that is 30,000 pixels, by 30,000 pixels is 100 inches by 100 inches. That s 8 FEET- 4 INCHES by 8 FEET- 4 INCHES!! That s why, I thought I would tell you about the above program. Don t know if it s exactly like my Photoshop, but it s WAY cheaper! (Photoshop=$599 bucks. PhotoDesigner Pro=$11 bucks)

Posteriza enables you to create poster or banner size prints from your digital images. The program slices the images into multiple parts and makes them fit into a number of regular size pages (A4, A3, letter, etc.), which can then be assembled after printing. It automatically includes margins to overlap and glue the pages. In addition, you can add up to 4 lines of text, as well as a frame to enhance the looks. The program is easy to use, and offers easy configuration and previews of the results. You can create regular size posters, wall posters or anything in between, although you should use a high resolution image for larger printouts in order to produce quality results. The program can also save the output as JPG files, allowing you to use 3rd party printing services instead of your own printer. Standalone, no install needed. http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fw…

IT would prolly be easiest to cut/paste into 4 different images and print them separately if you re having troubles.

Is it safe to buy Dsi points from the Dsi store from the system? -

I have 10 bucks to buy the points so I told my mom that I would pay her back the money, but my dad said that the credit card number is going through the air so someone could steal it. Now she`s to afraid to buy it from the dsi. Is it safe?

If the wireless network has WPA-2 (or some other encryption standard), then it is fairly safe. Plus, the person wanting the credit card number would have to be in the right place at exactly the right time. I don t think anyone would waste that much energy on one person s credit card number when other ways are so much easier (like setting up a fake website). I wouldn t worry too much. *Not responsible for any problems arising out of my advice.

Its pretty safe, but there s always that chance of getting identity thief. Buying a Wii points card is easier and safer. They sell em at most common electronics stores; even Shoppers has it

As long as your internet connections is secure, then the credit card number is most likely not going to be stolen.

What are the best places online to get replacement ink cartridges? -

I have an Epson Stylus C40UX Printer. Recently, I purchased brand new ink cartridges on ebay for a great price. However, when I installed it, the ink level indicator read that the cartridge was only half full. I believe that the cartridges were generic (not Epson brand) and that this might be the reason why I got them so cheap. What do you think? Can you recommend any online sites where a can get good quality refill cartridges at a really good price (where with Samp;H, it s cheaper than buying it in the store? Thank you. P.S. By the way, the brand name of the cartridges that I purchased on ebay is Gamp;G.

At the price gauging of certain ink cartridges I went to: www.xrefill.com they sell ink to refill at about .40 cents a cartridge refill. They also have Instructions

How to network a Non-Networking printer with a host computer? -

I have a WBR 1310 dlink router connected to 2 desktops via wired internet (comp a, comp b) and a laptop via wireless internet (comp c). I have a Brother HL-2040 connected to comp a. Is there any way to make the printer work when I press print from comp b or c WITHOUT connecting the USB cable to the other printers.

Assuming you re using Windows on those computers, do this on the computer the printer is attached to: XP machines should be able to simply Share the printer from the machine it’s attached to, this way: 1. Click the Start-gt;Control Panel menu item. 2. Click Printers and Other Hardware. 3. Click Printers and Faxes. 4. Click the printer in question. 5. Click the Printer-gt;Sharing menu item. 6. Click the Share radio button. 7. Give the printer a name. 8. Click OK. If the machine with the printer has Windows XP and the other has Windows Vista, you have to do a bit more than that. Try this: 1. On the XP machine, set the printer to Sharing in the Printers and Faxes dialog box, as detailed above. 2. On the Vista machine, get to the Add A Printer dialog. 3. Click Add a local Printer. (Yes, I know it s not local. Trust me.) 4. Click the Create a new port radio button. Leave the type of port set to Local Port. 5. Click the Next button. 6. In the Port Name text box, enter the printer s name, complete with the other machine s name (e.g. \\Bob s Machine\Bob s Printer). 7. Click OK. Hope that helps.

First you have to share the printer on the Host computer. Then get the name of that computer, right click on My Computer, go to properties, then click the Computer Name Tab. Then you have to Add Printer to both of the other computers. When you click Add Printer, you must select network printer, then click connect to the printer, then next, in the printer box type in \\your computer name\printer name, then click next, click yes on the pop up box, select set as default and click finish.

Install a printer on a computer then right click on the printer the choose share printer.

What is the least expensive printer, but reliable blue tooth compatible printer? -

I bought my daughter a computer with blue tooth capability, but the printer with bluetooth capability at best buy is too bulky and costs too much. Is there a reliable printer out there under 300 dollars with bluetooth capability? That will not take up too much room on her small desk in her dorm room at college?

I don t know of any Bluetooth printers. Most printers these days are wifi. The HPs sold at Best Buy all have WPA 1 encryption. The HP c4385 is a good entry level model. You can also step up to the HP c7280 which has built in wireless plus a fax, document feeder, and a duplexer (print on both sides of paper). The HP c6280 has built in ethernet, so it can hookup to a wireless router if the printer can sit next to the wireless router. If that is not an option, you can also consider using powerline technology. You just need to buy 2 powerline adapters. One plugs near your router, and the other plugs in near your near your printer. Powerline can be used with the c6280. The c6280 is priced at $199.99. Look for it in the Sunday ads. It goes on sale often. Bluetooth just doesn t make any sense when you have wifi that gives you the capability of sharing it with all computers in your home. It still has its place for people who do not have wireless routers.

All-In-One Printer: Canon Pixma MX850 Office Price: starts from $215.99, condition New. Check the editorial reviews and customer reviews here and decide for yourselves. Best value for the amount you would like to spend: http://astore.amazon.com/joseph-amazon-s…

Lets see. try a hp or a lexmark. go to your local walmart store or even e-bay. walmart has them way under 200. Good Luck. cause your daughter has to hurry and start printing out her reports and h/w.

id say a good printer with with blue tooth capibilities........yep

How can I make my printer make my emails larger when printing off of my printer? -

If I m printing off a copy of a bill. The print is so small, I can hardly see it or even read it. What can I do to correct this problem? I have a Canon Pixma MP800 printer.

Highlight all the type you want to print, right click, copy. The open up a word program, such as MS Word. Click on that, then right click again and chose paste. Then if need be, highlight the text in word, then go up to the top and change the font size to 10 or 12 and that should do it. Hope this helps. I know its kind of a hassle, but I ve seen this problem before and this is the easiest and fastest way to do what you want. Peace Jim .

Most e-mails with bills give you the option for quot;printable view.quot; See if it is on the top-right of the screen. If you can t download it, take a screen shot. Hold down the Alt key and press Prn Scr. This copies it to the clipboard. Now, open a Word doc and right-click, paste. Click it. You should get the quot;picture toolbar.quot; click quot;in front of textquot; You should see sizing handles drag the image out If this doesn t do it, crop any unnecessary length or wide with the cropping tool on the picture toolbar. Now try to drag it out. It won t look great - but hopefully more readable.

this is typically something done with the opject/file you re trying to print itself, not the function of a printer. perhaps try clicking around the quot;propertiesquot; section of the control panel - printer - then right click on your printer and bring up the properties. also another option is to run it through a copy machine, they can enlarge copies.

What is the best inkjet printer for graphics? -

I need an inkjet that will take up to 11x17 sheets of paper and is excellent for graphics, price is not an option...just want the best! What has worked well for some of you?

look for one that has a higher DPI(dots per ich) output than all the others. For example when it says 1200x2400 DPI. Multiply the two and you get the dots per inch. The best one I saw for that size sheet and DPI is the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 Inkjet Printer.

An artist I know just got the new Epson and it is truly amazing. No matter what printer brand you decide upon, just be sure to compare the dpis. Also, if you are doing a lot of color printing, separate ink supplies for the magenta, cyan, yellow may save $ since you need only replace the one that runs out. I pray this helps!

The best printer for graphics are any of the new printers that are out in stores today. And if you want really good graphics on pictures you should get photo paper and print it in high detail. Now their is a way to get good graphics for photos.

HP office jet pro K8400. I have one which is used to architectural drawings and renderings. It prints up to 13 X 19 and is pretty cost effective to run.

How do you set the default printer on your computer? -

I have an all in one hp 5610v printer. Everytime I print I have to choose quot;5600 seriesquot; in the drop down menu. I want it to be set so that with I click on the printer tab it will print. The defult printer right now is a . Yes its an apostraphe. I have no idea why. Thanks for the help. By the way im running on Windows XP.

Go to control panel, open printers, right click on the printer you want to make default, click the make default!

the next time you print something and have to choose the printer, right-click it and select the quot;set as defaultquot; option and continue with your printing.

Do you not show the printer under Start Printers and Faxes? It is there that you set default printer. On my all in one, it prints my default, but it gives me a choice of B and W fax or scan everytime. I do not have to do anything if I want the default.

Put a check mark in front of it!

How do I send a fax from my computer? -

I don t think it possible to send a fax without a fax machine, but my friend insists it is. Is she right?

She is right. Either use a fax modem hooked to the line or if you use DSL check the home page of you provider or of the manufacturer of you modem /router. Some routers have the ability to work with fax programs if you install an additional driver (CAPI).

Yes it is possible you can send one for free using http://www.faxzero.com or got this site to find out more about faxing from your computer http://fax2emailservices.com

Yes, it is possible to fax from your computer :) At http://faxfromyourcomputer.com/ you will find a review of the best online faxing programs. Best of all you can try any of these for free because the offer a 30 day free trial.

A company called Callwave,Inc can send and receive Faxes for you. You get a 7 day FREE Trial.

Beside the solution form other answerer gave you can use freeware fax sender programs. One of them named quot;fax by modemquot;. what you need is : 1. analog modem plus phone line 2. windows fax service already activated 3. scanner if you want to send copy of your printed document. with this you not only can send fax but you also can receive fax just like ordinary (and real) fax machine. you can print received fax or save it to harddisk and open it via windows fax console or notepad or wordpad or Microsoft word. you can get this program from sourceforge.com/sourceforge.net, or softpedia.com or freewarefiles.com. There s plenty of other freeware fax service there, but this is the simplest and easiest fax program I ve ever operated. Mail me through my profile if you can t find it. the other ways is use Multifunction printer that equipped with fax ability. what you need is only phone line. the programs to send and or receive fax is included in the printer CD drivers. Hope it help regards

yes she is I do it all the time you have to have a fax modern installed inside your computer and phone line hooked to it to be able to do that.

What is more economical, printing copies on a hpPhotosmart C3180 printer at home or using a store photocopier? -

I have no idea what it costs per copy on my home printer, but at the store, photocopies cost about 15cts per page, which is more economical?

well, if you want to save money. it shouldn t cost you a thing to do them at home. plus you won t have to use gas to get to and from the store.

If you look at the cost of the paper and ink. It usually costs about $0.15 to $0.25 per photo. If you do it online through walmart it costs you $0.09 per photo. Plus the gas to go pick them up. But they do have home delivery now. I am not sure how much it costs.
