How can I tell what a color is supposed to look like on my printer ? -

I was given a color swatch as a jpg and told to use RGB mode to print it. Do I need to know the ICC profile they used to match the color so my printout will be the same? And is there any way to reverse find the corresponding pantone tpx?

Hi Open photoshop and open the swatch. Now check to make sure that the swatch is in RGB mode. Also, when you print, tell the printer to print in RGB mode. After the print, check with the original swatch.

you need to work out the correct profile if your using a laser or inkjet printer your never going to get the correct pantone ref unless you find out your printers setting from the manufacture plus your monitor is showing you the image in RGB while in Print it is CMYK so checking your screen is set up right or the soft wear you are using is as well to make sure everything is spot on
