Why are laser printers that print tabloid a lot more expensive than a regular laser printer? -

They only print a few inches more in width. I know they may also be better in other things (compared to the small ones), but all I need is a color laser printer that prints tabloid. Can you recommend me an affordable color laser printer that prints tabloid size?

Tabloid printers cost more to make, and is a much smaller market, then regular size printers. $2500 is cheapest I ve seen http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail… Why not an inkjet? http://reviews.cnet.com/inkjet-printers/…

Is it possible to send a printing job directly to a printer via the internet? -

I am connected to the internet by a telephone connection at home and I need to print out a document at a printer located in my university is it possible to send the printing job directly to the university printer from my home pc?

Its only possible if you can access the university network externally. This can be done in various ways I would contact the IT department for specific details. Normally you would log in to the university network and the printer would be available as a share name or an IP address. You would then have to setup the printer on your own PC as a network printer. If the printer was attached to a local computer at university then you would probably be able to access it via logmein remote access (providing the IT dept allowed this - they may not) - google logmein for more details

if you have access to the internet at university you could email it to yourself then collect your email at the university then print it out

How to replace the ink in my Lexmark x5070 printer? -

I don t know how to open it and replace my black ink catridge. Please help with simple steps!

We have the same printer. Here s what I got from the Help system: 1. Pull the control panel up. 2. Raise the cartridge access door. 3. Press down on the cartridge carrier levers. 4. Insert the cartridge in the left carrier. 5. Close the black cartridge lid. 7. Close the color cartridge carrier lid. 8. Close the cartridge access door. 9. Close the control panel until it snaps into place. The control panel display will prompt you to load paper and press to print an alignment page.

How can i reduce the cost of ink for my printer? -

I am spending about $130.00 a year for ink for my HP three-in-one. Is there as simple printer that has a lower operational cost?

Depending on what you are printing I would reduce the quality output of your printouts unless you really need the good quality, most printouts will end up in the bin anyway. Or if you are spending that much I m guessing you are printing color prints too. I would maybe invest in a Color LaserJet printer, bigger inital cost, but you may save more in the long term.

Just Don t Print Anything Save Your Ink For When You Really Need It You Can Take Your Empty Ink Cartridges To Walgreens And They Will Fill Your Black Ink For $10 Dollars And Your Color Ink For $15 Dollars Thats What I Do Saves Lots Of Money

Walgreens refills ink cartridges for less than 1/2 the cost of new ones. I haven t tried them yet, but in a few weeks my Lexmark color cartridge will need refilling and I am going to try their service. It might be worth your while to try them out, one time. .

How do you find out how to set your printer for a cd label and do not have any numbers to tell you what kind ? -

I bought some cd labels that came from the dollar tree and was made by jot. There are no numbers to find on the case so that I can go to avery and download similer label. What do I do? Where do I go?

You know what I think I bought some of those same labels about 2 or 3 weeks ago still havne t been able to configure printer to do it. I was using the label program that came with roxio easy cd creator 6. I mean to look at www.download.com to see if I could find anything. You have to tell me if you get it to work. Good luck. Happy New Year.

Avery are very precise with their labels. Measure the jot products. Go to the avery.com sites, try and find a comparable label product, and see what they say, or check the Avery label specs in Word ( Which I have assumed you are using?) or if you have a Avery software, see what they say. Every Avery label I use for CDs is very precise on the measurements

Is it possible to install an Epson Stylus CX5400 without the installation disc? -

This was a gift from a friend but she didn t have the disc or paperwork. The printer is set up but I m not sure how to proceed from here. Please know that my knowledge of this stuff is extremely limited, so I d really appreciate it if you can tell me exactly what to do. I ve tried to download drivers but I still can t seem to add the hardware to the printer. Thank you!

You can download software related to your printer on Epson s website. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=25301amp;infoType=Downloads

first, you can try looking for drivers on their website. second, you can try using some of the built-in drivers in windows. I have little experience with epson printers, but I know that I have never installed an HP printer from a disk because windows has all the drivers I have ever needed. even if you can t find the correct one, sometimes you can get close and it will still work. there is a driver in windows (XP anyway) for a Epson Stylus pro 5000, I bet that will work. if not, try some others, like the epson stylus photo drivers. you can probably find one that will work, since many printers are designed on similar firmware.

Yes it s possible to be installed without the disc, because it s plug and play. It automatic install the driver when you install the priner. Sometimes you might not installed properly. Windows can t find a compatible driver for the printer. This might required you to go to the official website to download the driver. You don t need to install the disc, coz it s not up to date.

yes. go to epson s website and you can download the driver there! i m assuming this is what you have http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo… if you have windows here is a more direct link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo… for windows xp you want the 5th one down quot;Printer Driver v5.5aAsquot; or 7th one down quot;Printer Driver v5.4aAquot; if one doesn t work try the other if you don t...then just read the little descriptions for what operating system you have.

Go to the manufacturers website and download the drivers for that model.

Only if Epson has the drivers for the printer on there site.

How much do I save by buying a laser printer as opposed to an inkjet? -

I ve been hearing that buying a laser printer saves you more money than an inkjet ever will. But it seems prohibitive because of the high cost cost of the printer and toner. Then, there are health risks involved. Is it really more economical (or healthy) to buy a laser printer?

I found it to be so, but when It finally broke down I started to reload my ink jet cartridges, I paid $75 for enough ink 4 colours, to reload a 1000 times, I think after 20 reams of paper it has paid for it self and I still have 80% of the ink left, Im almost afraid I might wear the printer out first.

Laser printers are only really more economical if you are turning out a large number of black-and-white documents. If you are printing for a business then yes by all means invest in one. However, if you are printing a lot of color and for home use the cost is rather prohibitive.

I just purchased a printer and wanted a camera that works well with it? -

I have an old canon AE-1 but hardly use it anymore, and wondered if this is a good match? It s a 35 mm. Canon refers to this model as multi-purpose ink jet.

Well it depends what your printing if its just pictures of friends and stuff it might be cheaper ink wise to get them printer at Target or Wal-Mart. But if your trying to do high professional picture printing my suggestion is the Epson Stylus Photo R380. Now just for fun pics your printer and camera should be fine, but Epson makes good printers and Nixon good cameras just to let you know.

i think its a good match

Is it more economical to get your photos printed at a shop, or do them at home with own printer? -

I ve just had the shock of getting new ink cartridges for my printer, and am wondering if it s really cheaper than printing my 4x6 photos at a nearby shop where they charge 10p a photo.

10P per photo is much cheaper than printing them at home no matter what printer you have.

With what you have to pay for your printer cartridges, them yes I would have all of my photos done at the shop were they are 10p each, it would cost more than 10p to do them on your printer.

There s no question that a service is cheaper than doing it yourself. I use online services that charge 10 cents a print and often offer free ones. But I like being able to go to an event and print photos the next day.

Yes you re right. If you shop around it s probably better to go to a shop. The other thing to consider is that they don t fade so quickly from a shop also.

How can i use my regular PC with a wireless printer? -

I have a Dell computer and recently bought a wireless printer for my new laptop. Can my PC be set up to use the wireless printer also?

If you have a wireless router (allows laptops and other devices to connect to the internet wirelessly), you can set up the printer to connect to that. Wireless routers often have plugs for wired computers, like desktops. If your desktop is plugged into the router, you can use the setup CD with the printer to allow your desktop to print to it. Hope this helps!

How to make a fine print on paper with high tech in a professional way? -

It s about making a little fine print on paper but it requires more professional and sophisticated manner using ink and the mechanism applied should be portable. I have researched some but they turn out to be having some thing to do with label making and not what I am looking for.

you need a vehicle which you have space for you pc and printer, and electric sourse of course

How do I make my hp deskjet 610c work on my laptop? -

Whenever I try to print any document from MS Word, the only thing that will print is the test page. When I check the printer it doesn t even show that any print command has been given. The amber light goes on flashing and when I press it, that s when it starts to print the test page. I m using it on my hp pavilion laptop.

Download the latest drivers from HP and install them. If you already have the printer listed remove it from your list and unplug the printer. Load the proper driver and re-connect the printer. This should solve the issue.

You must first add the printers drivers and software to the laptop. If you have a disk that came with the printer, load the disk and follow the instruction. If you do not have a disk, you will need to go to printers and faxes, assuming you are using Windows xp, and quot;ADDquot; the printer. Click on the start menu and you should see printers and faxes. If not, go to the control panel and you will find it there. Follow the instructions given by the add program. You will be adding a local printer, usually on parallel port 1, unless you are using USB or Fire wire connections. Also, you must set the printer as the default printer to get programs such as Word to recognize the printer without having to specify it.

How to obtain certifications for printer repair? -

I am currently working for a printer parts company and would like to obtain some certifications without going through my company. We mostly stock parts for HP and some Lexmark, so I would be looking for certifications in those two. Also, what certifications would you recommend? I just need a foundation-something to build from. I consider myself to be very computer literate, but have zero knowledge when it comes to printers and repairs. Are there any companies that anyone could recommend? or a good starting point?

I m a computer repair and fix printer and dvd and cd player right out of my home. you can have you some cards printer out and pass them out to business and family co-worker and friend to get your self started. place a ad in the paper for unwanted printer and use them and try to repair them take it a part and see what goes were make it your hobby until you have some idea on how to fix it I couldn t find a school in that fill along I have to learn it on my own . just play around with it I m sure you will get it together and maybe one day they will have a fill in repair printer.and you will have a jump start. Gemini

Honestly I have never heard of a printer certification program.

How do I connect a printer to my laptop computer downstairs? -

I have my printer hooked up to my computer upstairs; so I was just wondering how to connect my laptop computer to the printer upstairs. I will appreciate what answers I do get. Thanks.

With a little thing called a Home Network. Go to the computer upstairs, double click on its My Network Places and on the left you ll see quot;setup a home or small office networkquot; Type in a workgroup name for your network, turn on file and printer sharing and reboot the machine. On your laptop, do the same thing, and make sure you use the same workgroup name. To add the printer, instea dof it being a local printer, it is a network printer you let the machine browse for. Once it finds the printer, you are finished and done. The only problem with this is that the computer upstairs always needs to be on or you can t print.

How do I get my printer to work? -

Physically it works fine, but I dont know where and how to get the software so I can scan pictures onto my computer. Its a hp psc 1209 all-in-one Printer, Scanner and Copier. How do I get it to load onto my computer?

You d better ask the factory of the printer, maybe he can help you http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx… http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx…

In the options for the scanner you should see a place that says quot;send scanned image toquot; there s a list there, choose file and it will save it to your computer.

Can anyone recommend a printer to use for scrapbooking that prints photos and 12X12 sheets? -

This is for home use so I don t want to spend hundreds of dollars. I will also be using it to print wedding invitations. I am not concerned with print speed.

You re looking at an A3 model of printer that can do 11x17quot; at least, really to do 12quot; you re looking at an oversize A3 or wide carriage so you ARE looking at a lot of money, these are specialised machines, not household devices.

I would outsource this printing to one of the copy centers that print pictures from CDs or from Word, PPT or other compositied digital sources.

How come when i print in microsoft word nothing prints on the paper and it works on other programs? -

How come when i print in microsoft word nothing prints, and when i print some other thing on another program (like ms paint, onenote, adobe) it works.

check the text in msword file is in any colour and not in black. if yes, your colour catridge in the printer may be partially empty with particular colour. replace the colour catridge with new branded one. OR change the font colour in your msword text to automatic or black.

hi there; make sure the color of print in the word program (toolbar) is set to color of your choice, and not set to white!

Which printer are you printing to? Are you sure you re not printing to a file or PDF by mistake? What s your printer set to for printing from Word?

Is Word set up to print in a WHITE font???

How do I make my HP PSC 2200 printer stop printing lines through my color pictures? -

My HP PSC 2200 printer is printing thin (but very noticable) horizontal lines through my color pictures. The black and white ones come up fine. I also just replaced my ink cartridge. Any suggestions?

You should have an option to clean the print heads on your printer somewhere. It is usually in like a maintenance window of your printer, that should clear up the lines.

oo my printer did the same thing the ink was messed up so i sent them a rude email and sent me new ones for free

How do I print from a wireless laptop to a wired USB printer? -

I have an HP laptop that uses a wireless router. My other computer with the hardwired USB printer (HP) is connected to the wireless router with the Cat 5 cable.

Any computer that have Windows XP and Vista are a piece of cake. Two ways, you can make the installed printer a shared printer by accessing through the Printer and Fax Setting which located in Start or in Control Panel. Click and make it shared. Another way is to use the wireless laptop and add the printer through a network. Go to Printer and Fax setting, click on add Printer. Go to the 3rd option that want to add via network. You want to go to the last option that say browse the network for Printer. Lastly, you find your private network and click on the printer.

You have to make the printer available on the network. This will be different depending on what operating systems you have, but it is possible.

Set up your printer as shared on the computer it s connected to. Then, on your laptop, go to add printer, and search for it on your network. Really just as simple as if everything were wired.

What premiums will be you like to be given by the retailer if you are buying a printer ? -

Other than price discount.Premiums eg. free ink cartridges, toners etc. Note: There are many shops where you can buy a similar printer from. So what will help you decide who to buy from.

If I m buying a printer, usually I wait until its on sale for a good price. For example, this past week one of the local stores had a color laser printer for $120.

Unless you re buying the printer from a small local computer shop where you can haggle with the owner, you re not going to get any quot;premiumsquot; from any big name retailer other than sales or rebates. Any extras like free cartridges would be packaged with the printer by the printer manufacturer.

How can we stop HP printers from printing funny characters when the pager get stuck and waste tens of sheets? -

When HP printers encounter a problem and when I stop and restart a printer it prints several sheets of funny characters on top of the sheet. It continues for about 20 to 30 sheets. How can we stop this.

Go to the HP website and download the most recent software for your printer. Also, if you have to turn off the printer during a print job, make sure you delete the print job off of the computer before you turn it back on. If there is a print job on the computer you will see a printer icon in the bottom right of your screen (near the time). Open that icon and right-click and cancel or delete any job listed. If you power on the printer when there is a job waiting it will print gibberish.

How to connect printer or projectors to my MacBook? -

I am planning to buy a printer and projector but as I look at the port of my MacBook I din t find port fot it. Is there any adaptor to be use for this? Please help!!!

USB. Everything has USB. If you re trying to buy a serial-port device, you ll need to buy a different device, because absolutely no sane person uses serial ports anymore. Printers use a USB-B plug, and computers generally have USB-A. Some printers come with this cable, others don t. It s not that hard to get one. Depending on your MacBook, you ll need an adapter for a projector. If your computer is made of metal, you need either of the Mini DisplayPort adapters. If it is plastic, you need a Mini DVI adapter. If you actually have an iBook instead of a MacBook, you need a Mini VGA adapter. But you also need to know what port is on that projector to know what adapter you need.

How do you scan a picture through your printer? -

i clicked on scan (on the printer) and the on button was just blinking why?

put the paper that you was gonna scan

Usually a flashing button means there is an error. Check to see the lid closed well after you placed the picture in the scanner.

How to hook up a printer wirelessly to labtops? -

I got a EPSON NX300 for christmas. I have 4 labtops in my house. How do i hook them all up?? Do i go through a wireless router or what?

If you have a wireless router then yes. However you will need to buy a quot;wireless print serverquot; because I don t think this pronter has wirelss prinf function built in. There a plenty of these avaialble on the market. Just search your favorite on-linee electronics store for one. A wireless print server is very small and quite inexpensive - like maybe $30

usually computers have a bluetooth center somewhere on the computer. you then click it and it searches for any printers

We have a wireless printer, and all we had to do was install the software on our computers. Mine is a laptop with wireless internet. Just install and use. Easy. Unless of course you don t have a wireless printer. In that case you will need to connect it to something that is connected to the other computers in your house. I m sure a wireless router would do the trick.

What is a good site for genuine ink cartridges? -

I need HP 45 and 78. Lowest price in physical stores is $57.

Try eBay. Look closely at the descriptions! There are many good deals, but also used, or quot;compatiblesquot;, or expired cartridges. A supplier with an excellent rating is usually a safe bet.

All you need is just click here at http://www.Ask4Ink.com Cant find a better place to buy ink from I promise. Will surely serve your purpose of Less Cost and Superb Quality.

What is the difference between copying and printing? -

When you print, can t you make duplicate amounts of whatever it is you re printing?

Copying is the art of taking something that has been already printed and you have in paper, and simply print more copies of it. Printing would be referring to when you print out something new from the computer into paper, then you can copy it if you want more, but you can simply also tell the computer to print more that one copy when originally printing. Is basically the same thing, except it changes when there s a first time.

You can indeed make a duplicate amount of what you want printed. If you wish more than one copy of a document, picture etc you set you printer to print the amount of copies of it you want - usually you can print up to 99. If you wish to do more than one copy you press to print and when the printer menu screen comes up, on the bottom right hand corner of this is a little box that says, number of copies. It is set as default to one but you simply either delete the one manual and then type the amount you want to print or the use the arrows to get it to do upwards. Photocopying is, as the others have said, just reproducing the original image by a means sort of similar to taking a picture of the image and copy it.

Copying you scan an original document and print as many copies as you want. Printing is just as it s name implies.

Is there a cheaper alternative for my replacement ink cartrdiges? -

I have an HP PSC 1315 all in one that uses HP cartridges 57 tricolor and 56 black. Are there cheaper ones made by Lexmark or Kodak or someone that I can use instead, and if so, please tell me which ones they are? Thanks very much.

Yes - I also use an HP printer and always use remanufactured replacement ink cartridges. These are ink cartridges that have been used, cleaned, and then refilled with new ink. I get mine here http://www.castleink.com/HP-PHOTOSMART+1…

How do I print without the separator page on Hewlitt Packard printer? -

Every time I print something, I have a page that tells the filename, directory, template, title, author, etc. It is driving me insane. It is wasting all the ink, and I am tired of it. Is there a way that I can print my documents without this stupid wasted page?

Go to Start, Settings, Printers and faxes. RIGHT click on your printer and select properties. Click the advanced tab along the top. At the bottom you should see a button that says quot;Separator pagequot; Click on that and go from there.

Why do my photos not print right when I use Kodak photo paper ? -

I m new to using photo printers, so please forgive me if there s a simple answer to this question. I bought a Kodak ESP 3 All-in-One printer last weekend and the quality of the photos that I printed out on the regular sample paper was just fine. But now that I ve bought and used Kodak photo paper, those same photos are a grayish-green tint when they print. Why is this and what can I do about it? Thanks.

Try changing paper type or style in properties

How do I get my printer to print in colour? -

I am on a macbook and I am using microsoft word. I am trying to print a page in colour. How can I switch the settings to make them print in colour?

Hi. The answer to your question lies in the choice of a printer driver appropriate for the task. When you choose File--gt;Page Setup, select the printer driver for the color printer that you want to print to. For example, if you have a Color LaserJet, you need to select the driver for that printer, e.g., HP Color LaserJet 4500 N (in my case). The driver will convert the file and print all the colors as selected in Microsoft Word when you then select File--gt;Print. To see quot;what you getquot; before you print, choose File--gt;Print Preview.

There is an option called quot;Print in Grey scalequot; and if this option is selected in printing preferences it will print only in black and this is for saving ink. Try to find that option and uncheck it and that migh help

hmmm....get a color cartridge and change the print setting to color.

How do you get a printer to work with two different programs that need different drivers to run? -

I m using a Zebra Z4M Plus printer for both in-house box labels (Label Matrix) and also for printing UPS labels. The problem that we are running into is that the two programs require different drivers. If I install the UPS drivers the printer will not work with Label Matrix. We ve tried a couple of different things and nothing seems to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Agreed. Install the printer two times, each with a different driver. I ve done it and it has worked, although not with the Zebra.

SHOULD be able to install the 2 drivers side by side pointing at the same device, I know for most printers you can have the postscript and the PCL drivers running alongside each other. Then simply point the programs at the driver it likes

Difference between plastisol and inkjet heat transfers for tshirts? -

Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 types of heat transfers? Is one better quality than the other? Does one have a softer feel than the other on a tshirt? Is one cheaper than the other? Thanks.

As I do not know I found this I hope it answers your questions. http://www.bestblanks.com/heattransferfa…

How can I get my ink cartridge to acknowledge that I have refilled them with a refill kit? -

I have a lexmark X3650 and have filled the black ink with a refill kit. For some reason it s still saying I have no ink. This is the 2nd refill kit I have bought for 2 different printers and their is always problems of some sort. Why don t they work???

Hi Lexmark is fussy for refills as well as HP. 90% of the time, it doesn t work and secondly, it voids the warranty if you burn the head. The problem is that , when you refill, their must not be any air in the cartridge. That is why their are special places that have the proper tool to refill and remove the air from the cartridge.

Sometimes these kinds of issues can be resolved by going to the quot;Lexmark Solution Centerquot; icon that s installed on your desktop (assuming you used the cd-rom that came with your printer to install the printer driver, etc). If you follow the on screen instructions for installing the cartridges it should reset the ink levels.

Why does my HP 1020 laserjet printer show 3 flashing yellow lights on the control panel when I start it? -

When I try to start my HP 1012 LaserJet printer, it shows 3 flashing yellow lights on the right side where the control buttons and lights are instead of the usual green light, which means it s ready to print. I ve lost my HP instruction booklet. HP did not respond to my email for help. Any helpful advice much appreciated!

Interesting as the HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum… shows it as having 2 LEDs not 3. That link is to the status lights trouble shooting page fo rthe laserjet 1020 plus . . .

How do I still print when a colour has allegedly run out on my Epson R300 printer? -

replace that colour.......Genius!

Unfortunately with modern printers, even if you want to print black only, if a colour cartridge is empty, you will be unable to print until you replace, Again, you used to be able to fool the printer, by taking the cartridge out momentarily and putting it back in, but they re newer and wiser now. Can t trick computers.

You print on another printer, or you replace the cartridge. Epson are cheeky little bastards. Although you don t think you are printing in colour, every time, and I do mean every time you print in black it is underlying all 5 colours, then printing black on top of it. It is very likely although you don t feel as though you have used a complete cartridge, you have.

when epson printer show empty there s always a little ink left in the cartridges and not really enough to be useful if you print out a photograph you ll find it runs out before it s finished being printed there s usually enough to print a few pages of text as that doesn t use anywhere as much ink as printing photos

You can t untill you have replaced the empty one mate. i have the epson R200 series.

I have just put in a new color cartridge in my HP1310 on Windows Vista. How align? -

I don t find Director in Vista and don t know how to get the color right. What steps should I take on Windows Vista to get the color aligned?

I think you may need to install a new printer driver for this printer that works with Vista. Try this link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum… The bad news is that HP is dragging its feet on Vista drivers. If you follow the above link you ll see that they re basically telling you to install the nearest built-in Vista driver to give you basic functionality until they get their fingers out to write proper drivers.

How can i tell if my printer is compatible with a mac? -

I have a dell all in one printer that i am using with my pc right now, but i am getting a mac. Is it compatible?

Unfortunatly it will probably not work well with the mac. Dell does not make Drivers(software that lets the printer work with a specific OS/Computer) for Mac. Sometimes you can find gimp or user created drivers if you do a Google search for: quot;printer make modelquot; driver for osx .... i.e. dell easyprint 2300 driver download osx you can also try going to dell.com and accesing thier support and driver download section for your printer and see if they have drivers available for mac osx and as a last resort, and i STRESS last resort, you can try calling Dell and asking if there are compatible drivers or known working drivers

What kind of printer should I use to print photos on a transparent foil? -

I heard dye sublimation and thermal printers should do it. the foil is thin, and i want high quality photos on it. i do not care about the costs. i d like to print white too.

Inkjet printers will work all the time, but will be very slow. On the other hand they will have great quality. Colour Laser printers on the other hand will NOT always support transparencies. To reduce costs of the laser engine, laser manufacturers had removed the ability to print on this media a couple of years ago, especially in the low end colour laser segment. Do check before you buy, otherwise you could permanently damage the printer, nothing worst that melted plastic on fire around the fusing unit. For instance, the latest small Hp CP1215 supports transparencies.

To my knowledge, Laser or Inkjet will not print white on transparencies, they use CMYK not RGB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMYK Apparently it cannot be done. Report Abuse

you need a color laser.... oh and nobody calls them foils anymore :-) ...transparencies

How do you print on the back of a paper? -

I am doing a project and I need to print on the back of a paper, I was wondering how I do this? Thanks!

Flip it around?

You flip the paper around and print on the other side. Some printers can do this for you. Most cannot.

Hahahahah u flip the paper over then print it lol use ur common sense, silly =]

flip around

How do you know when the ink cartridge of the printer is low on ink? -

Lately, i ve tried to get some ink cartridges refilled. unfortunately, the store said that the cartridges were completely dry. the store says it can only refill the cartridges if they still have a little ink left. i don t know how to know when the cartridge has a little ink left. does the computer tell you or do you have to open the printer up once in a while. If the computer tells you, how does it tell you?

i would assume that when your prints first start getting crappy it s a good time to take the cartridge in. there s obviously still ink in them at that point

if you are using any up to date printer such as hp at the hp solution center it will tell you how much ink is left. or on most of the newer printers it says right on them if the ink is low or levels

the software that came on the CD for the printer if installed tells you the inks levels.

What are some ways to not waste ink when printing something off a printer? -

I know that its more efficient if you put it on fast and grayscale but what else?

print in draft quality There is a considerable difference in ink usage for draft.

If you don t print much in color, you might seriously consider a laser printer. It may be more expensive up front, but you ll save a TON over the lifetime of the printer and it is often faster. If you have to print pictures, you can just go to Walmart or Target or an online picture printing company. These days, the color printers are almost free because the ink cartridges are where the companies make their money.

You ve done about all you can do. You could not print unless necessary. That s about it. OH, you could print extra super tiny and read everything with a magnifying glass.

Replace yellow ink with a solution of **** and piss. Works great and it s free :D

How can I stop my Lexmark wanting to realign everytime I put in new cartridges? -

I bought a Lexmark printer, because it was a printer/scanner in one. But, every time I put in a new ink cartridge, it asks me to print a page to quot;realignquot; the printer. I want to know if there is there any way around this, because I don t want to have to waste ink every time, as Lexmark ink is one of the more expensive kinds.

There is no way around this, it needs to test to make sure the ink works. Would you like to know wether it works or not? I would. You have to test it, to make sure it works.

How do I print shipping labels on adhesive label sheets that have 2 labels per paper? -

So, I got some adhesive labels from UPS that have 2 labels per sheet. How do I print labels on them via Paypal? Whenever I print, it always has the instructions to fold it and stuff so it prints the label in the middle. I want to print the label on one of the labels...

Depending on which browser you use, go to File , Page Set Up, and for all the margins enter .25 When you go to paypal and are ready to print the label, there is something for printer preferences, and you can check to not print a receipt. Hope this is of some help.

I ve used the exact labels to do the exact same thing. I created a template in MSWord with Dimensions of the label and just put one on each page. I kept using the file and adding more names to the end of it so it also served as a record to compare with PP and backup of customer info.

You can either make a template using Microsoft Word or go to www.avery.com and download a template with the approximate measurements. I use a template I made in Word.

What is the difference between a Bluetooth printer and a wireless one!? -

I want a printer for college that will be easy to use! I have an iPhone and a laptop and I need to know what the difference between the two printers and which one would be the best for me! Thanks for all the help!

quot;Wirelessquot; printer generally refers to a printer equipped with WiFi printer server, so you can connect to it with a computer equipped with WiFi (most laptops do nowadays) and print without any wires. Bluetooth, needless to say, prints from a Bluetooth connection. Some notebooks have Bluetooth, but most don t. As iPhone speaks both WiFi and Bluetooth, I d get a Wireless WiFi printer, or perhaps an quot;all-in-onequot;, which also scans. --- Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II days Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Both operates or communicates using Radio signals or frequencies. Wireless printers has a built in wireless card while a Bluetooth printer uses bluetooth to function. Their main difference would be the frequency range they are operating. Your iPhone and laptop would be able to support either of the 2 printers, given that they also are WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.

Photo and color printers - why does the print quality and color get bad after a a year? -

I have two color/photo printers. They print amazingly crisp pictures initially then it deteriorates in a year or so. Why is that? Did the settings get screwy or is it just time to throw out?

the print cartridges need replacing. If they re new, then it might be the printer itself.

What would be the best way to clean a paper feeder on a printer? -

I may have used paper feeder incorrectly so I ll give a little more info. I printed off a picture, the paper got jammed, and the printer tried to print anyway. Now whenever I print something streaks of ink are on the back of the paper. What is the best way to clean my printer to get rid of those streaks?

Your software should have a option for cleaning the cartridge nozzles. When you have used up the ink---taking the cartridges out before you used for up ink---may give fasle reading of the level of ink. Clean the cartridge holder with a cotton tip.

The ink was applied to the rollers that move the paper through the printer. It they are accessible, you can clean them with a swab. In any case, that ink will dry eventually and the streaking should stop.

I do not know which printer you have but if you go to your maintence page on your printer site it will tell you how to get rid of streaks stc. I do this occasionally anyhow. It keeps everything right. Good luck

How can I add a second printer without it interferring with my default printer? One is a flatbed and one is no? -

I have the flatbed printer as my default printer, but I also want to add another printer without a flat screen. I just don t want to lose my default setup. I had a hard time getting that one squared away. Thanks for your help.

Just simply add the printer and when it asks you if it is going to be the default printer, answer NO. When you print from your applications, you will have to choose it on the fly if you want to print with that particular printer. Otherwise, your flatbed printer will take priority. If you choose to print on that new printer, it will not affect your default which will always be the flatbed since YOU specified it as so.

When you add a second printer it usually makes that one the default. Then you can go into your printers section from the start button or control panel, right click the one you want as the default and choose set as default printer. That s it.

Just make sure that the main printer is set as the default printer.

My computer printer prints in landscape instead of portrait? -

All of a sudden my computer prints in landscape rather than portrait. I know that I can adjust it each time that I want to print something; however, how can I make portrait the default so I don t have to adjust it each time?

Go to the printer properties and look at any default settings for the portrait option.

How do you fax on the epson nx 400 printer? -

My boyfriend threw away the manual and I can t figure out how to scan or fax something. Does anyone still have the manual or know where I can find one online? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can not fax on the nx400, it is not a fax machine. However you can scan and email as an attachment. If you absolutely need fax, you can sign up at efax.com and receive faxes free in your email. There is a small fee to send them. To scan you need an application which supports scanning. Almost every photo editing software or word processor does. In word you find under insert picture a choice for scanner or camera. In other programs it s under acquire. Once you click the link it will pop up the menu for scanning. Then you can choose photo or text and the resolution you need in dots per inch. For high quality photos you want to print, set it at 300 dpi. For photos you want to display on the monitor you only need 72 dpi. The higher the dpi, the larger the file. Your printer uses the same cartridges as my CX8400. I get mine at http://ccs-digital.com for $3 and they hold 60% more ink than Epson. Just thought I d pass it on.

What resolution is the best to use for the clearest pictures printed out on paper from my computer ? -

I want to print pics from my computer. The ones I did are not very good. You can see the pixels in them. What settings can I use to make them better ? My printer will only print on paper too so I just need to know about the resolution I guess.Any tips or advice ? Thanks

150 dpi will be alright, as long as you dotn get too close, though 300dpi is the preffered resoltuion. when printing picks form a digi-cam i beleive the minum resoltuoin for decent 6*4quot; printout is 4megapixels. if your ptinting full sheets of paer youll need at least 6megapixels.

A 4X6quot; picture should have 300dpi. If you want to print larger than that, it does not sound like you will be able to, with the pictures from your computer. Once you tell your camera what resolution you want it to take a picture at, you are pretty set on that resolution. You can enhance it, but this is where you are going to run into pixelization, unless you are proficient in photo editing software. What type of printer do you have that will only print on paper? Are you sure that you know what types of printing media your printer settings have. If you do not have an option in your printers settings/preferences, then I would just use photo paper. Your pictures will definitely look better than on plain paper and it will remove some of the pixelization. Just use the photo paper compatible with your printer (HP=HP photo paper, Epson=Epson photo paper etc.). I have an Epson printer and tried printing on the less expensive Kodak paper. What a mistake. I could see lines through the picture and it took days for the ink to dry. The printer companies make their own paper and ink to be compatible with each other. So my Epson printer, printing on Kodak paper, did not allow the same chemical reaction as Epson ink and paper.

Why does some papers, after printing, the picture or the places with ink become smooth? -

In my school, when we get papers or something, the pictures which are usually black and white, come out smooth and we love to feel them cause they are so smooth. Please tell me why, if you know! I know this question is dumb, but I always wanted to know!

Because non-glossy paper is expanded (may not look like it but its huge lol) when the ink is applied it compresses it. Like a sponge when you squeeze it all the holes disappear and it looks smooth.

greasy ink ??

because the machine does something...

i thinks its because they have laser printers

How do I find a printer that is compatable with my laptop? -

I bought a Dell Latitude D620 and now I need a printer to go with it. Where do I go to find the right printer to connect with my laptop.

You can choose what ever Printer you like. All Printers come with the Driver Disc for Mac OS,XP,Vista so you can pick the Disc with the Software that s the same as you re Desktop.

If you are looking for a printer that you can take with you where ever you go, I would say buy the HP Officejet H470 mobile. any of the three, would be great, if you have the money, get the HP Officejet H470wbt Mobile Printer (CB028A#B1H) This one comes with wireless build-in, the other two you have to buy it extra, you also can run it on a battery.

Any printer will work

All printers will be compatible.
