Is it possible to install an Epson Stylus CX5400 without the installation disc? -

This was a gift from a friend but she didn t have the disc or paperwork. The printer is set up but I m not sure how to proceed from here. Please know that my knowledge of this stuff is extremely limited, so I d really appreciate it if you can tell me exactly what to do. I ve tried to download drivers but I still can t seem to add the hardware to the printer. Thank you!

You can download software related to your printer on Epson s website. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=25301amp;infoType=Downloads

first, you can try looking for drivers on their website. second, you can try using some of the built-in drivers in windows. I have little experience with epson printers, but I know that I have never installed an HP printer from a disk because windows has all the drivers I have ever needed. even if you can t find the correct one, sometimes you can get close and it will still work. there is a driver in windows (XP anyway) for a Epson Stylus pro 5000, I bet that will work. if not, try some others, like the epson stylus photo drivers. you can probably find one that will work, since many printers are designed on similar firmware.

Yes it s possible to be installed without the disc, because it s plug and play. It automatic install the driver when you install the priner. Sometimes you might not installed properly. Windows can t find a compatible driver for the printer. This might required you to go to the official website to download the driver. You don t need to install the disc, coz it s not up to date.

yes. go to epson s website and you can download the driver there! i m assuming this is what you have http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo… if you have windows here is a more direct link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo… for windows xp you want the 5th one down quot;Printer Driver v5.5aAsquot; or 7th one down quot;Printer Driver v5.4aAquot; if one doesn t work try the other if you don t...then just read the little descriptions for what operating system you have.

Go to the manufacturers website and download the drivers for that model.

Only if Epson has the drivers for the printer on there site.
