How do I print a picture from iPhoto on to photo paper via HP Photosmart C4480? -

I have the correct size photo paper w/ gloss. It says it can be printed via any inkjet printer. I believe the printer I have is an inkjet printer. Whenever I open iPhoto and hit print - A message on the printer will say quot; Please load Large White Paper into Printerquot;. I d do that, however I wouldn t like the picture to be printed on printing paper, i d like it on photo paper. PLEASE HELP!

TEchnically yes you can print from an iphone to a printer, however you need a printer which supports printing from a phone which yours does not. Email the picture to yourself and print from there.

How do you find out what kind of ink your printer uses? -

I really need to print something, but my mom and I can t find out what ink our printer uses. Is there any way we can just look a tit or something to know what kind of ink it needs??

Yes, look for the exact model of your printer and google it OR go online to an office product store and plug in the model of your printer. The ink should pop up (example: HP 4L or OfficeJet). Also, look at the name and numbers on the existing cartridges. For instance, mine is HP 21 and HP 22. Gina http://keepitsimplehtml.com

You can look at your printer and google in the model to find what ink catridge it is or bring in your empty ink cartridge in a store like costco or best buy and ask them. Costco has good deals on ink cartridges and they re happy to match the ink cartridge for you. That s where I go for mine.

You could find the model number of the printer. If you find it, you go to the store and just by telling the guy in the store, he/she will know what ink you need

look on the internet for ink suppliers and type in your make of printer and it will tell you my printer is an HP. C5380 all in one so thats what i look for. ok numbers are also on the cartridges

Open the printer s lid and look at the current cartridges that are being used. You can then either write down the cartridge type or else pull them out and take with you to the store.

Find out the model it uses normally electrolyte, put the old catridge in boiling water for 10 mins it will be ready for re prints

Take the cartridges out of the printer and look at them, better yet take them to the store. Or you can ask me.

you should just take the empty cartridge to an office supply store and some one should be able to help you.

What color uses up the most ink on a printer? -

I think I heard that grey and brown use up the most amount of ink. I m using an inkjet and want to conserve where possible. Thanks!

If your printer doesn t have a black ink cartridge, then black is the most ink consuming. If you do, however, have a separate ink cartridge, then you are correct that grey and brown are the worst offenders. If you re printing a lot of black, consider getting a laser printer. They are for sale at Staples and Officemax for $50 now when on sale, and their printing speeds are much faster. My $50 Samsung printer has been great, and it prints 20 pages/minute.

It s not about which color uses which amount, but which colors use more than one tone. For example, a green font will use both the yellow and the cyan tones where a purple will use the cyan and magenta...etc. With inkjets, the ink use is primarily in which quality you print in (draft, normal, or high) and how think the lines are. Just use normal or draft whenever possible and use thin lined fonts and the ink will last quite a while.

That depends upon the printer. IN almost all newer printers the answer is actually black, as not only are you using your black cartridge it also underlays all three colours to darken and sharpen the black.

White space uses up the least ink, so to save ink, just print blank pages.

black thats why it comes separate and if you where to mic all colours on a cartridge you would get black too research primary colours

What is a good laser printer for printing on metallic cardstock? -

I need to find a good Bamp;W laser printer to print my response cards for my wedding invites. The paper is metallic cardstock. I need to find a good LASER printer. Any suggestions? Are there printers that work with specialty paper or cardstock?

(Over 20yrs. in Paper amp; Printing) I hate to tell you this but you going at it backwards. First you need to find a metallic paper that is suitable for Laser printing. I am sorry but, not many are!!!! Non laser compatible metallic papers can only be printed on using a printing press, or by hand. (ie markers amp; paint) Some printers handle cardstocks better but the reflective nature of metallic paper cause huge issues, unless the manufacturer has specifically designed it not to. Contact your local quot;Paper Distributorquot; in the phone book and ask them about laser compatible metallic papers. quot;Paper Distributerquot; is not Office Depot, Staples or Kinko s. Look in the phone book under quot;Paper Distributorquot; or quot;Fine Paper Distributerquot; or look online at (Aspire); www.thepapermill.com Good Luck,

What printers for home-use are the most efficient at using ink cartridges? -

Our family s been through three Lexmark printers, and they ve all turned out abominable...the black ink runs out within three weeks, at best! In your experience, or from what you ve heard, what kind of printers for personal use (we can t have the bulky business printers) would you recommend based on how long the ink cartridges last without refill or getting a new one?

The canon i series has proved both practical and economical. Helps that COSTCO carries the cartridges. Good luck.

Laser printer. A black and white one will cost only $100, you can get a color HP one for $200. And the toner lasts forever.

Is there a difference between genuine printer ink cartridge and the replacement cartridges? -

I have epson and I have been buying their non-epson replacement cartridges for a lot cheaper! I don t buy the original epson ink cartridges anymore because they cost so much. I ve been using the replacement cartridges for awhile now and I don t think I have had any problems except my printing quality has declined but I m not sure is it because of the replacement ink or just because my printer is old. First of all...is there any difference between real genuine printing ink and the no brand replacement cartridges? Do they damange your printer or are they exactly the same? Second of all...do printing quality delcine after you have had the printer for many years? Thanks!

most of the time, printers will print very well with replacement cartridges, but it then, also, depends on the quality of the cartridge mfg. as for printers declining after many years, it s a tough call. some of them work very well up until one day they don t work at all. but i think it depends on the mfg, and type of printer and even the amount of use they get. something i would recommend is to take the printer apart and give it a real good cleaning. use lint free cloth, rubbing alcohol and qtips. lots and lots of newspaper. while you re in there, check and see if there are any signs of old age that might impact the printing, such as loose or sloppy drive belts, excess inks which might just gunk up the insides, and such. if it still doesn t perform to your expectations, try a name brand cartridge and see if that helps. if it does, then you know that you should stick with them for better performance. if it doesn t, then maybe you need to start watching the sale flyers. the no-name inks have a tendency to leave excess ink behind, but it has not been proven to my satisfaction, to say that they leave any more than the name brands. so once you clean it up, keep an eye on it as you compare cart to cart. so good luck and let us know how it goes.

It does depend on the manufacturer but, generally speaking, compatible cartridges from a reputable printing supplies retailer will match or surpass OEM (namebrand) ink quality. For the most part, these inks are more than adequate for general household and office printing requirements. Couple that with the substantial savings in price and you can t go wrong. In reality, few, if any OEM printer manufacturer actually makes their own ink anyway. Most of them get it from major suppliers who make it according to printer manufacturer specifications. I ve had an Epson Stylus 880 print head wear out after several years but for the most part, a throurough cleaning, regular usage and some preventive maintenance usually keeps them running shipshape. If you re considering a new printer, be sure to check out your online options as many printer manufacturers provide clearance sections where you can buy a refurbished unit with a full warranty, get rebates and free delivery. Just be sure to check for availability of compatible cartridges before you make your purchase. Yes! Geniune gives ya professional result though others give you average and sometimes below average result.

How can I get a little more life out of my ink cartridge? -

I can t afford to buy a new one until Friday and need to print a five page report for class tomorrow. It s an HP Officejet 4110 with 27 and 28 ink cartridges.

I take them out and tap each side lightly on my desktop to shake up the remaining toner. Also I go to Print, then Preferences, and choose Fast Draft which uses less ink. Good luck.

Check your printer settings--take it from photo quality to normal quality. This will make the print a little lighter and thus preserve ink. Good luck!

yes i agree with TS , all u need to do is to pint 5 pages so change the settings to fast or the lowerest possible so u can get the best out of it ..

Take them out, replace as new, then print. This should be good for at leats 10 pages.

Take them out and vigorously shake them and then put them back in, this will nearly double the life. Also, there are places that refill them for a fraction of the new price and they can be refilled several times.

What is the best low end inkjet printer for the money? -

Why would a full ink cartridge not work? -

I am pretty sure that our color ink cartridge is full. It still feels heavy, I could swear I just changed it like 3 weeks ago, and shouldn t it feel light if it is empty? Well, when it prints, it doesn t print in full color. It prints in yellow and black with lines through it. I know I installed it correctly. Any suggestions?

I had something similar and found out that the printhead needs replacing/cleaned. Sometimes ink dries out and clogs something. There may be a quot;deep cleaningquot; option in your printer preferences. This is if you have exhausted the other choices, then ask staples about this and bring them a sample printout with model.

Usually your computer and/or your printer will give you a quot;messagequot; saying that a particular ink cartridge is getting low on ink. So, if it s not doing that and if your color still isn t printing correctly, I don t know what to suggest. Sorry ... I know that s not much help. (Personally, I can t tell any difference in their weight when they re full versus empty. Sometimes you can hold them up to the light and tell whether they look empty.) Maybe you did more color printing than you realized you did?? My experience is that printing just quot;eats upquot; the ink ...

It won t work if it s not compatible with you re Printer,it s empty or you haven t inserted it correctly into the Ink cartridge. And did you aligning the Ink once you inserted it in the carriage? If not then that could explain why it s printing out streaky.

problem with the contacts on the cartridge, is this a recycled cartridge? - i d return it and get it swapped

have you calibrated the printer?

I am installing a new Canon printer to operate with my Dell computer. Is it necessary to disengage any virus ? -

protection that I have installed for a successful download? How do I do this? Thanks very much!

You do not have to shut off your anti-virus to install your printer. Just download the software and install it.

How do i connect to a printer using a wireless router? -

Theres two computer connected wireless to a router. How do i use the printer from another computer that is connected to that computer?

By far the easiest way is to connect it to a PC that is permanently on. You can then share the printer with anyone on the Network. Simply quot;sharequot; the printer from the PC it is attached to.

How do i print only a selection on word for mac? -

I want to print only a select few pages on Microsoft word. How do I do this?

On Word for Windows, within the print dialog you can specify pages by entering page numbers separated by commas (2,6,8) or ranges with hyphens (3-7) or use both in combination (1,5,7-9,34)

File-gt;Print menu, then choose what you want to print

What is the best printer for Invitation making? -

I am trying to start my own small business in making invitations and announcements. I am looking for a good printer that gives me crisp and vibriant colors. I purchased an HP inkjet printer but had to return it because the black ink was not dark enough. So, now I am cosidering a laserjet printer. Any suggestions?

A laserjet is a good choice because you want your invitations to be waterfast. Inkjet inks tend to smear because they are water-based while lasers use toners which are fused onto the paper. Since you are doing a small business, I assume cost is a concern, you try one of the color laserjets like the HP Color LaserJet 1600 ($270), CLJ2600 ($360),... the list goes all the way up to about $1000.

i use a epson printer all in one and it prints photos great and everything else, also has fax in it,scan, print, copy all you will need for a business.Check out the cx5800f ,Staples.

How do you put the ink in a canon printer i560x? -

I have a canon i560x, i bought it a long time ago but never used it. Now I think it s time. How do you put the ink in and also the light keeps blinking orange.

what do you mean put an ink, refill your cartridge or replace it? Canon cartridges are non-refillable, you need to replace it with a geniune canon cartridge.

Download the manual from this site (http://www.nodevice.com/manual/newmans/i560smpdf/get13587.html).

How long do ink cartridges usually last? -

Like how many pages?? Or average days or something. Does anyone know? I don t want to go wasting ink.

average ink cartridges can print 500 pages

Ink is measured in pages not days. It depends on what you print also, test will use a lot less ink than images... If the cartridges sit opened (like when they are installed) and unused (ie you are not printing anything) they will eventually dry up... So don t not use your printer because you don t want to waste ink. If you have a printer, it s to print things. You don t have to go crazy and try to print the entire internet, but print when you want to.

depends on models and brands. 200 - 500 pages for 10% coverage.

What is the difference between new and remanufactured ink jet cartridges? -

For Lexmark Printer.

If it was professionally remanufactured, as in resealed properly, nothing is different. It was refilled and its cheaper. This is generally true for any electronics, I find that remanufactured it is the same or better, because the problem was either fixed or made better by upgrading the problem parts.

New ones are new. Remanufactured have been refilled (and so are cheaper and more eco-friendly)

How to I recharge my ink with Ciss R285? -

How can I make my printer only print two pictures? -

Hey everyone, I want to take a couple of passport pictures with my digital camera. However, when I download the pictures and all, the printer prints six copies of the same picture. I just need to have two, and I don t need to have all those extra copies when printer ink is so expensive. Any suggestions? Thanks all

When you have gone through the initial stages to print the pictures, when the page layout selection comes up at the end go to the menu to the wallet sized pictures. There is a little menu underneath this menu and this asks you how may prints you want - it should be set to one by default. If not, then set it to one. It will then print just one of each of the prints you want, as along as you highlighted the two pictures in the initial opening of the pictures to be copied, and put them both on the same page. So you need to make sure that the, how many copies box, is set to one.

Before giving print go to preview option delete the extra pictures and give the print command so that it will print only 2 pictures

Is it harmful for a laser printer to print many pages successively? -

I want to know if it is harmful for a laser printer to print many pages (say 30 A4 size pages) successively. During the process the internal parts become very hot and I am afraid taking so many printouts at a time may heat up the internal parts of the printer too much and the printer may be damaged quickly. My printer is new and the manual doesnot say anything in this regard. Can anybody clear my doubt?

no u can print as many as pages as u want if still u have doubt, then u can print 30 pages and give a break and take again

To be honest, if a printer wasn t designed to print 30 pages as one print job, that printer wouldn t sell because there will always be a time when somebody needs to print a long document. A printer unable to handle 30 prints is like a car that can t go more than 30 mph

It is not harmful, this is what laser printers (in fact all printers) are designed to do. A laser printer needs to be warm (hence the warm up period) for the toner to fuse to the paper. If for some reason it does break that is what waranties are for.

What is a good printer for printing on card stock? -

I have been printing postcard mailouts on my printers. I think the rollers have worn because of this. Does anyone know of a good printer for printing card stock from Avery? The cards do not have any high def graphics. It is mainly small clip art and words.

Depends if you mean a laser or an inkjet printer, For alaser, going to be limited, as postcard stock it really quite think, many printers can go to 160gsm stock on thick mode, but no higher, If you need inkjet (remember inks not watertights) then an Epson would be my suggestion, with a continuous ink system. I have one and Love it Haven t replaced a cart in over a year, just quot;topped upquot; the feed bottles . . . check out www.continuousink.com

If you re looking at black only, you want a printer capable of a straight through paper path, such as the HP Laserjet 2100 (discontinued.) I do not know the current model printers that are capable of this. With that printer, you can load card stock in the manual feed tray, and it pulls it through the printer without significantly bending the card stock if you have it set to exit through the rear door. This is your best bet to prevent jams. The pickup rollers will wear out, but on most HP printers, they are user replacable, and they can be reconditioned as a temporary fix by removing them and washing with dish soap and water.

I have always had problems with card stock in HP printers because the paper needs to flip over in them. As a result, the thicker paper jams quite often. My Epson and Canon printers handle the card stock well.

How do I clean the printhead of a canon pixma i3000 other that using the software? -

It appears that one of the print heads (magenta) is clogged and deep cleaning using the software does not do the trick. I have looked for a new printhead but it costs more that the printer.

There used to be quot;cleaning cartridgesquot; for certain older Canon models, but they were nothing official and I never really heard any success stories about them. I would suggest running the cleaning utilities multiple times if you haven t already, because that is really the best solution for this. You might try investigating the cleaning cartridge thing, but as I said I don t know that it will work. As you know, the new print head is not worth it, so if you can t find a solution then you can just buy a new printer. I ve never heard of an i3000 so I don t know what a comparable model would be, but it s always a good idea to get a new printer then to spend too much money/time on fixing an old one.

How Do I erase the the printed paper any Device is there? -

Actually I am looking for a device which will erase the printed paper. I want to know if there any device is there or how do we do it. The paper quality should not go bad. I need same paper quality in after that also.

Hi, you can try Glacial Acetic acid, commonly available with chemist and pathology labs. you need to first test a small quantity(patch test) because result differs in different cases.Do it on your own risk. And last but not the least, its illegal to alter official and legal documents.NEver ever do it. Thanks give me votes.

What is the factors that cause the invention of laser printer to be happened? -

Can anyone tell me what is the situation and needs that cause the invention of laser printer to be happened? why Gary Starkweather invented the laser printer? what is the factors? i cant find the answer anywhere.. i really need your help.. i will appreciate it.. ^^

the urge of industrial revolution did it ! Introduction Laser printers were once called quot;page printersquot; because they print entire pages at a time and not a dot at a time like ink jet or dot matrix printers. Considered to be the fastest type of printer on the market, the laser printer is also significantly more expensive. The power behind the laser printer is the mixing of six different mechanisms: electricity, optics, chemistry, heat, friction and magnetism. A Xerox researcher, Gary Starkweather, invented the laser printer in 1976. The printer capitalized on the same xerographic process that Xerox used in their photocopiers. The only difference was the placement of the laser on the inside of the printer. The laser printer developed over the years and is now used in homes and offices all over the world. Raster Image Processing A raster line, or scan line, is the horizontal line of dots across every printed page. The raster image processor (RIP) is the mechanism that is responsible for creating the image before it is printed. The RIP is in charge of generating a bitmap of every page sent to the printer. It then signals the printer to begin the printing process once each page has been stored in raster memory. Charging the Print Drum An electric charge is sent to the print drum by the corona wire. The drum is given a negative charge of -600Vdc. The drum is a photosensitive cylinder that is made with a silicon coating. It is able to hold the charge because of the photocharging layer underneath the silicon. Exposing After the drum is properly charged, a laser moves across the rotating polygonal mirror above the drum. As the drum rotates, the page that is to be printed is encoded into the photoreceptor and then directly onto the drum. The laser moves across the drum in a strobe-like manner until the entire page is printed onto it. While it does the job, the laser also neutralizes the negative charge for any white space so that the toner is only attracted to the parts that make up the image. Developing The image on the drum is then exposed to the toner (a black chalk-like substance made of carbon, polyester and iron particles). The toner is also given a negative charge so that it can be attracted electrostatically to the image imprinted on the drum. The more charge given to the toner, the darker the image will be. Transferring The paper is pulled into the machine by the paper feeder, where it travels through a predefined path called the paper transport path. The paper is charged positively to +600Vdc, the exact opposite of the drum. The two conflicting charges are what transfer the image onto the paper once it passes under the drum. Fusing The image is then fused onto the paper by the heat from the fuser. The fuser is made up of two rollers: a hollow heat roller and a rubber pressure one. As the paper passes between the two rollers, the combination of heat and pressure is supplied, and the toner is fused into the paper. Cleaning To keep the toner from collecting on the drum, it is cleaned after every print job. The cleaning blade brushes off any excess toner and deposits it in the waste reservoir. After this, any remaining charge to the drum is removed by a discharge lamp. The machine is now ready for the next print job.

How can I get my printer to stop asking to run a test page evry few minutes? -

It is an HP PSC 1410v all in one.

Run a test page! Every time you take the cartridges out, its going to ask you to do this when you put them back in. Run the page and leave the cartridges alone. Edit: Are you using genuine replacement cartridges?

It could be a software issue or a buy ink thing. Go to Epson.com and check out the printers in Clearance, then go to: http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ and check out the CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of money, never buy or change a cartridge again and it s pays for itself in a month.

How do I put music on a memory card when I put it in a printer thats plugged into a macbook? -

I put a memory card for my phone into my printer which I have plugged into my macbook. How do I get the music onto it? It doesn t show up on the desktop. How do I find it on my computer? Thanks(:

I have an hp laserjet 1100 printer and hp dv6700t notebook, how do i get them to work? -

There is no plug in the dv6700t that can connect with my printer. Is there a converter or something that could connect these two? I heard about a USB converter but can t find it and don t know if it s true or not. THX for all answers.

If it s a USB cord, then you could buy a USB printer cord from your local best buy or any electronics store. If it s an LPT1, then you could probably buy the product below: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q… But then again, it would probably be cheaper to just buy a new printer. They re very cheap nowadays. Don t forget to install Vista drivers if you re using Vista.

Hi. The article listed below will route you back to your vendor, where you will find some answers. The article indicates that the newer laptop has shed some ports in it s design; but, the good news is, as the article says, there is a USB-to-parallel cable, available at retails outlets as COMPUSA and NewEgg. This cable, as the name suggests, allows users to connect a parallel printer to a USB port. So, while your dv6700t notebook may lack a parallel port, you can convert the existing USB port with one of these cables. Thank you.

that printer is too old and won t work if you are using vista it was discontinued by hp

I HATE PRINTERS ! Especially epsons, the best way to deal with them is to blow them up !

How do I go about printing on sheets of address labels? -

There are 8 labels, in 2 columns on an A4 sheet. Is there an easy tool or something that already lays out the labels on the page so i can just add the addresses? There must be an easy way to do this!

The easiest way to do this is to buy a packet of A4 sheets of pre-gummed labels from somewhere like PC World or Staples. They come with a CD programme and it s not very expensive if your making a lot of them.

You could make a template is MSWord - The Avery website has examples you can download http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=soft…

I use Microsoft publisher and you click on labels and all the regular Avery labels come up then you can do whatever and have whole sheets done it is very accurate ~~

Why does my dell photo 964 printer say that my cartridge is missing? -

It use to work perfectly then i got a ink refill then that s when the problems started. My ink cartridges are full but my printer still says that its low on ink.But my color ink still works fine. However my black catridges says that its missing. So it doesnt print out black. What can i do to fix it? I already took it out and reset the printer.

When a cartridge is refilled often times ink will seep up behind the electronic strip prohibiting the printer from communicating with the cartridge. You need to replace the cartridge, the one you have now is permanently damaged.

How to print the same document multiple times but on the same sheet? -

Ok so I need to print out something, but I want it to be 4 on a page so that they are all that size, and I don t have enough good paper. How do I print it so that it is like this: 111222 111222 333444 333444 so baseically the document is 1, 2, 3, and 4 but all on one sheet of paper. I cannot do that like you do with a picture. I have windows vista word. THANKS!!

type the 111 section, then type the 222 section. then copy those and paste underneath. then print

Depends on the program you are using. Each one is different. And not all programs can do it. Repost or edit with the program and it will be easier to guess the process. ***** Oops! I missed the quot;Windows Vista Wordquot; at the very end of the post. Sorry. With word, simply go to the File menu and open Print. Near the bottom right you will see a drop down box for selecting how many pages to print on each sheet.

What is the best high volume laser printer for business use? -

We are concerned with reliability, service, cost of consumables and cost of the units. They will be used with a mid range ERP system.

Depends on what you mean by quot;high volumequot; Do you need black only, or colour ? Konica Minolta do a WIDE range of quot;bizhubquot; products that range from 20ppm small workgroup printer/copiers to machine that do 50ppm in colour or some around 100ppm for mono. Pop past www.konicaminolta.com and have a browse

I repair all printers and had my own repair shop, the whole time I had my shop and even today I use Canon, I still use it, it was made in 1986 it s a HP laserjet series II printer, it has the Canon SX engine, I m waiting for it to break down so I can strip it and rebuild it, it has never been done, you can go to the Canon web site and check them out, in the 20 years of printer repair this is the best printer on the market, you don t have to believe me just ask HP who makes their printers, hard to beat the reliability, reasonably priced for cost of the printer and the consumables I think are a good price, I can t answer about the service I repair them myself, but once a year have a printer tech clean and tune the printer up, it does save you money down the road, hope this helps and good luck.

Can anyone recomend a printer that does photos and regular black and white? -

I need a new printer, especially to print really good pictures, but also standard type. Any thoughts?

canon is great at both. there are several different canon printers that use multiple color ink cartridges. they use one for cyan, one for yellow, one for magenta, one for the blacks in photos, and one is dedicated for text documents only. so there are 5 tanks in all for many. more still use 7 tanks, with a light cyan and light magenta for more crisp pictures. they are in the $120-$200 range and print 4x6 and 5x7 photos as well.

What is the best wireless printer for printing pictures at home in good quality? -

If you re looking for a reliable all-in-one inkjet with good quality output, a solid warranty and inexpensive ink, look at the Epson workforce or NX series. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I believe the workforce 600 has 2 years and is currently on sale for $149 at epson.com. I get cartridges for my Epsons from http://ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold 50% more ink than standard cartridges.

How do I remove permanent marker from a piece of paper leaving the underlying laser toner intact? -

I need to know what someone has crossed out using a permanent marker on a photocopy - can you help? is it possible? Many thanks

You will have to talk with guys in the forensics.

acetone (nail polish remover) will remove most permanent markers. However - you are dealing with a porous and fragile surface. You run the risk damaging the papers as well. You cannot just simply soak it, you do have to rub and blot the marker off.

How much would it cost at Kinkos to print a magazine or paper? -

For school I have a project of making a magazine, and a book. How much in USA (florida) would it cost to make/print a book or magazine? Also, how much would it cost to print a color paper. (glossy)

need to know quantity, binding, number of pages, colors 1/1 2/2 4/4, etc. what type of paper (poundage, specific brand or just generic) small quantities are better suited for copies, but if you do high quantity you ll be better off with a print shop. just call around and get quotes. they generally offer them for free and will ask you what then need to make sure you get an accurate price.

How do your replace the cartridges on a 926? -

One of my roommates has a Dell 926 multifunction printer and evidently does not have the user s manual. So far I have not managed to find a manual online. How does he replace the printer cartridge?

1. Turn on printer 2. Lift printer unit, and position the scanner support between the tabs to hold it open. *The ink cartridge carrier should move and stop at the loading position unless the printer is busy 3. Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise each ink cartridge lid 4. Remove old ink cartridges 5. Remove the sticker from new cartridge and transparent tape from the back and bottom of each cartridge. 7. Insert the new cartridges, making sure the black or photo ink cartridge goes in the left cartridge carrier and the color ink is in the right one. 8. Snap each lid closed 9. Hold printer unit up, push the scanner support back to unlock it, and then lower the printer unit until completely closed. **TO lift up just pull up from second section from top. The whole thing will open. (Not the part where u put papers to copy and fax, under that)

How do I get my roommates computer to connect to my printer? -

It s an Epson, I have a PC. She has a Mac. I don t have the cd anymore.

Ive never used a mac but Im assuming they have usb plugs, so plug it into that and the OS should find a driver for it and it will work if not go to the printer company s website to get the driver you need

Epson website, support, download software, install, Print.

Why don t you just email her and print it from her laptop? or go to the library?

Where can I get a document printed to the edge? -

I m putting together a resume and the background design is supposed to go to the edge. My printer can t do this. Is there anywhere I can take it so that it will print all the way to the edge?

I hate to say this, but Kinko s. You might want to try a local copy shop that is independently owned. Kinko s has enough money

How can I solve a problem that I have installing HP laserjet 1000 series in a 64 bit windows vista laptop? -

The problem that I been having is with a .inf file, how can I solve this?

When XP was released, most printers were automatically configured, apparently Vista isn t as sophisticated. If you haven t already, open the wizard to install the printer. Open the printer folder and choose to add printer and follow the prompts. If you ve done this, reinstall the printer to see if perhaps a glitch occurred with the previous installation.

Start here for answers: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec… You should find the solution there Hope this helps QD 1956

What multipurpose deskjet printer should I buy? -

I have been looking to buy a multipurpose DeskJet printer to replace a trusty Canon MP730. Basically I want one that prints decent quality photos and documents, have separate ink tanks, and doesn t empty my wallet to change inks. I am looking at Canon, HP, Brother and Epson. Can anybody tell the difference between Canon MP and MX lines?

Only Hewlett Packard sells Deskjets, I m afraid. Perhaps you want an inkjet? Anyway, I suggest you go look at a magazine roundup from PCWorld orPC Magazine. They test, and explain the cost per page, speed per page, and general output quality. Also, Samsung has a color laser for about $100 US street. Doubt it will do well on photos, though.

I agree with him http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx… http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx… http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx…

I can not personally recommend one as I have never had one so the link is just for you to look into them as you will know what you require and if the what you are looking for. Personally I believe you can t beat can I have two domestic ones. http://www.canon.co.uk/for_work/products…

How much ink does it take to print a full sized color image? A little, a lot, medium? ? -

How many full page, full color images would I be able to print with a cartridge of both black and color ink on a normal printer? Does it use up a lot of ink? If so, would it be cheaper to print them out at the library or at a printing place? Thanks.

This really depends on the kind of printer you are using. Output varies tremendously by printer type. Here is a good article which talks about whether it s cheaper to print your own photos or bring them to a printing place: http://www.castleink.com/_a-print-photos…

How to print large picture onto many sheets to make poster? -

I have a very large picture that I want to print. If I print it as it is, it comes out on one sheet of paper (8.5 x 11). This is way too small as the image is crunched and everything is squeezed together. How can I evenly divide this image to print onto 6 sheets of paper (8.5 x 11) so that I can put them all together and form a poster from the 6 sheets of paper after it is all printed?

What you want to do is called Tiling. There s a free Windows program called Posterizer which does this. Download it from: http://www.posteriza.com/es/index.php?la… You will need to use a very high resolution image for best results.

It depends on your printer capability. If it supports poster printing feature - you will be able to choose from the printer properties before you choose to send printing job from your PC. Try clicking on the Printer properties to see if you can spot anything like that. Reg the page size - try Page Setup feature from ur application to change to a bigger paper size - if ur printer can support larger media.

Just click on print then before continuing.. change the size into 400% or even bigger if you want

Anyone know how to fix a printer that makes everything appear with lines on it? -

I have an Epson Stylus CX9400Fax. Out of nowhere, a few weeks ago, (i didn t DO anything to it) it starts printing everything with lines on it. I used the maintenance software it came with to quot;realignquot; the print heads or whatever they re called. I followed the directions and it came out worse! All the black bars have white lines on them; I don t know what they re talking about! Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Are the ink cartriges nearly empty? if so change them, empty cartridges sometimes cause that, if not i dont know, go back to the store you got it from and get a refund

I was just about to answer to use the quot;realignquot; but in your case you can contact support from epson. just check their website. It is better that you talk to the epson support so that you are in the right track and not do things that might void your warranty of the product.

Why does my computer waqnt me to save a document when I hit print? -

I already have it saved and all I want to do is print it. What is the deal?

It sounds like a Print To File printer is set as your default printer in Windows instead of the printer you want to print to, so that whenever you print you are actually creating files with the print information in them on your computer s hard drive (you can delete them if you ever find them). Hopefully you ve installed your printer (software, interface cable, etc.) onto your computer already, if not you ll need to do that first. Usually when installing a printer it will ask if you want this to be your default printer, check the box or select Yes as needed. This should take care of it, but if you didn t when you installed then you ll need to do this: To check and change the default printer, open a document you wish to print, go to the menu bar at top and click on File, move down the pop-up window to Print... and click on it. In the Print pop-up window find your HP printer in the window at top and right-click on it and then click on Set as Default Printer then select Print or Cancel at the bottom. Now whenever you click on the print icon it will print out on your printer instead. Best of luck.

check your default printer. is it the one that is it supposed to be? maybe not. that s for sure.

Can a computer and a printer hook up wireless if neither one has bluetooth technology? -

Would like to hook up computer to printer wireless but neither has bluetooth. If one was bluetooth the other I believe would work with a dongle. What would I use to create a bluetooth wireless connection for both of these devices to connect?

look here http://www.google.com/search?q=computer%…

Wireless and bluetooth are two completely different terms. Yes, they can connect wirelessly without bluetooth, but they both muct be connected to a wireless transmitter and reciever. To create a bluetooth connection, u can get a Bluetooth USB device that emits a signal and can connect.

Or you could set up an old laptop as a wireless print server...

What kind of printers do photo shops use to print digital photos? -

Are they printers with ink cartridges moving from left to right or are they something completely different? I tried to print photos with the best quality paper I can buy and used the highest possible setting on my HP printer. But the ones from the shops still looks tons better...

The best results come from using the manufacturer s own paper, so HP with HP printers. There are a number of things you can do to improve the way your pictures print: Make sure that your camera is taking photos at the highest possible setting. In many cases this will be RAW, sometimes TIF. If you have Photoshop, or another photo editing program, use the Levels command. This will ensure that you don t have too deep shadows, or too bright highlights, for printing. Try printing from a different program. When you say that the ones from the shop look heaps better, in what way? Are there streaks, or uneven patches, in your prints? Have you tried running the cleaning and head alignment utilities, if your printer has them? I don t use an HP inkjet now, but I used to have one and I couldn t tell the difference between prints I made and those from real photographs.

They are using Photosmart type of printers with TIJ-4 technology. Thermal InkJet (TIJ). In TIJ 4, u will have 6 ink cartridges black, magenta, light magenta, cyan, lt cyan, yellow. But in ur ordinary printer, which follows TIJ 1 or 2 tech, will have only black and color. A digital photo can be real, when the printer prints it with all possible n original color. Just think, which one can create lot of colors? A black n color OR 6 diff combinations of cartrdiges? Obvious the 6. So they give max quality! Still if u have any query, email me!

get on that prints pictures

Photo shops use 2 different things. For normal photos (up to 8x6 inch, or even 10x8 depending on machine) they use professional digital printing solutions, usually utilising quot;dye sublimationquot; technology. These print only at about 270dpi, but as each dot is a pure colour, that looks better than a 2000dpi inkjet. For poster prints, many use high end, Epson or HP quot;designjetquot; type wide carriage inkjets, costing LOTS of money. Some stores were also known to use quot;colour lasersquot; for proofs for photo enhancement, or to produce other colour products, but again quality lower than the pro equipment.

They use printers that work with a chemical process, and this process is like the old prints that used to come with film. Basically the equitment is used to print lots at a time

How can i stop my printer for printing test pages? -

My HP DESKJET 6940 prints a test page after each document i print. How can i stop this?

I do not have a 6940 but it is possible that there is an option set in your printer that causes it to print what are called job separator pages, usually after each job. Try looking around in your options and advanced settings.

What button did i mistakenly punch to make my printing suddenly go into writing?? -

I was just printing a letter when i must ve hit a wrong key as suddenly my straight print form went into a kind of italic printing.

I can t imagine that the printing can switch from straight to italic once a doucment has been sent to the printer and is being printed. Maybe the paper was fed crooked on the printer?

In inkjet printers what is picolitres? The less the pl value is good or worse? -

The more the print resolution the good quality it is... But what about the picolitre or pl value?

Picoliter is a tiny tiny fraction of a liter (1x10 to the 12th liters). It s a measure of ink volume dispensed and doesn t really have any direct impact on the quality of the printout. Buy a reputable make (HP etc) with good speed and good resolution and whaterver other features you want. Get WIFI if you want wireless printing, or a built in scanner / fax if you want it. Don t worry yourself over picoliters.

How do you make an upside down question mark on your hp computer? -

I need to type an upside down question mark for a spanish project but i dont know how to do it on a hp computer please help.

Use the key combination Alt + 0191. For future reference, you can get the codes for all special characters from character map (charmap.exe). It is on every computer that runs Windows. You can get to it by clicking the Start button, and selecting Run. Type charmap in the box, and click OK. Then, search for the special character you need, and the key combination will be listed in the bottom right-hand corner. You can also copy the character directly from Character Map, and paste it to your document.

Alt+0191=?

How can I print with a printer connceted to the other computer? -

I m not a computer person so I m not sure but.. everytime i need to print I have to send it to my sister s computer. How can I just print directly from my computer?

Is the printer shared on your sister s computer? If not, share it and then on your computer go to add a new printer and choose network printer. Browse to your sisters computer and you should see the printer you shared. Follow the rest of the instructions on the screen and then you should be able to print to that printer from your computer. Also keep in mind for this to work her computer will need to be on for you to print.

there is no way unless you have to connect to her computer to use the Internet which if you do you will need to make a etowrk with the PC which will probably break down very quickly. You will need to buy your own printer which i suggest because you can get one new for about a £20 if you look on the Internet.

How do I stop reports created by quicken 2008 from printing multiple times ? -

Reports created by Quicken 2008 printed from my laptop (on a wireless network) with a desktop cpu that is hardwired to a HP inkjet printer, print only the first page multiple times. All other reports from excel word etc print fine. I have tried many different things like printing only 1 page of the report with the same result. Is there some problem in Quicken?

You can try editing the print options in Quicken.

How long does ink last on paper before fading so much it is illegible? -

I specifically am curious to know how long ink from my inkjet printer will survive on paper without any preservation technique. I know this is a strange question, but I need it for a line in a poem I am writing as a Wedding present. Well, that didn t make it any less strange, sorry!

The answer depends on a lot of factors, including: 1) Actual type of ink used (authentic HP ink? or generic?) HP (and other namebrand ink) have special formulation that lasts longer, esp. on the right paper. 2) Actual type of paper used (generic copy paper, or special inkjet paper?) Inkjet paper have a bit more clay in their composition to help quot;suck inquot; the ink and lock the print in place. Some more advanced paper even has a external protection layer. 3) How much sunlight will this printout get? How about temperature? Sheets left in cool indoors will last a lot longer than those exposed to direct sunlight or higher temperatures. HP claims if you used their ink on their inkjet paper, the printout, if left indoors, should last almost 100 years. (I don t recall the exact figure, but they hired some labs to simulate aging and came up with this figure). I d say it should last for a lifetime if it s properly mounted on a frame and kept at home. After all, isn t that your question? :)

There’s nothing strange about your question at all. Alas, the answer is not simple. As Yogi Berra once said, “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future.” All of the major manufacturers make high quality inks and papers, and this includes those who make paper for use in various printers. For special uses like those you describe, be sure to buy the company’s top of the line product and avoid those brands you’ve never heard of. With any of these well-known products, your image should last for generations, if properly stored. And there’s the rub. After you choose a quality product (HP, Kodak, Epson, Canon, etc.), what’s really most important is how the image will be used. Image fade is caused by four major factors: heat, light, atmospheric pollutants (largely the gas ozone), and humidity. If, for example, you were planning to keep your wedding image in an album, the most important factor would be heat; light, which you read most about, would have little effect. If you plan to display your image on a desktop or wall, then all four factors are likely to come into play in varying degrees. What’s important then in predicting lifetime is to think about the four factors in balance, which not all testing does. For example, a few years ago a well-known contract-testing lab predicted that images from one of its client’s products would last for years, but it based this largely on light fade tests. Some consumers who bought the product were then dismayed to find their images changing color in a matter of months—due to ozone-induced fade. Over emphasizing light fade is probably the biggest mistake made by many of those predicting lifetimes. Another aspect in predicting lifetimes is determining just what is a faded image. Some people call a just noticeable difference between the original and the kept image an unacceptably faded print, but most consumers, based on real tests, don’t. Your question says quot;illegiblequot;, which is way longer than the times predicted for image fade, where people are considering small color changes, not illegibility. For prints that are on display, you can prolong their lifetime by framing them under glass with a piece of backing material (called a matte). Try not to display them over your hot air duct or in a window and don’t use a air “purifier” that does its job by spewing ozone. But what about your poem? As this discussion suggests (in probably more detail than you ever wanted to know), assigning a “years” number to the prediction is dodgy, even if it’s poetic. How does something like “lifetime” or “for generations” scan? That will almost certainly fit your HP print .

THANKS!!

I m not familiar with Vista s Word setup, but with MS Word 2003 what you do is: 1) click on File on the menu bar at top 2) select Print 3) in the lower right section of the Print window is the section Zoom and within that is a option quot;Pages Per Sheet:quot; where you can select 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 16 pages per sheet. This will do what you are looking for. Good luck.

ok hit control + P then b4 u print look at the bottom of the page ull c an option of how many times to print.. done :D
