Run a test page! Every time you take the cartridges out, its going to ask you to do this when you put them back in. Run the page and leave the cartridges alone. Edit: Are you using genuine replacement cartridges?

It could be a software issue or a buy ink thing. Go to Epson.com and check out the printers in Clearance, then go to: http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ and check out the CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of money, never buy or change a cartridge again and it s pays for itself in a month.
