What kind of paper and printer can I use? -
OK, you re using photo quality paper. Are you using photo quality ink? Many printers have different types of ink. One for regular paper, and on for photo paper. I don t know what you are using for a printer, but I know this is how it is on my HP. Your only other option than getting the correct ink for this purpose is to use a heavier gage regular flat paper (Like card stock). It is not a shiny gloss finish, but the pictures come out really nice. You may even be able to compromise with a matte finished paper. I hope this helps.
You re using an inkjet printer. Inkjet ink is water-soluble - it will run if it gets wet. Pictures printed on Kodak print paper aren t printed in a printer - they re color film on a paper backing. The quot;inkquot; is silver and dye, so it doesn t run when it s wet (it s developed in water with chemicals).
Generally, there are two types of photo paper-coating technologies: swellable and nano-porous. Swellable papers, such as HP Premium Plus Photo Paper, deliver impressive image quality and fade resistance, but typically offer less impressive water resistance. Nano-porous photo paper, such as HP Advanced Photo Paper, is made up of water-insoluble ceramic pigments for instant dry time and excellent water resistance. Photos printed on nano-porous paper are better able to withstand spilled water and wet fingers. None are waterPROOF. It s not the ink, it s not totally the paper, but a combination of the two that give the best resistance to water. Check out the manufacturer s website and see if they recommend a specific paper for use with your particular cartridge/ink. Oh, and quot;realquot; pictures don t bleed, because they re not printed with inkjet technology.
