How can I activate my print spooler so that I can add a printer? -

my computer isn t letting me use the add a printer button in control panel I get a message about my print spooler service not running. Any brief suggestions?

too bad microsoft wasted so much disk space on help pages no one ever reads. start button gt; help and support :(

Start, Control panel, Administrative tools, services. Highlight quot;Print Spoolerquot;, and in the left pane, click quot;start the servicequot;.

Go into control panelgt; adminstrative toolsgt; services locate Print spoolergt; right click and choose quot;Startquot;

Go to printers and faxes and click add printer. In X-P this is above Start and in Vista in Control Panel.

In Windows XP, Click on Start button...click on quot;Runquot; Type in Services.msc scroll down the list until you get to Print Spooler Highlight it and right click on it. Click on the option that says Start. You can also edit the properties so that this service starts everytime windows does. Hope this helps.

When you install a printer it should have a download disk that comes with the printer so it can install it automatically!!!!
