What could be wrong with my lexmark z645 printer? -

I have installed both new color and black ink cartridges. The black ink works fine but when I try to print something with color only blue or orange ink prints. Yes I cleaned the printer.

Several things could be causing the problem. You said you cleaned the printer. When you cleaned the printer heads I hope you used only rubbing alcohol and not water. If you used water, let it dry for a day or two. There s also a chance that the cartridge is no good. But before you take the cartridge back for a replacement try uninstalling the printer and then reboot and reinstall it. Sometimes when the drivers get corrupted they act up. If that doesn t do it, take it back to the store, tell them the black is working fine, that you reinstalled the print drivers so you KNOW the cartridge is defective. Good luck!

Well, every printer usually has a print a test page option. Try going to start gt; settings gt; printer and faxes. Then click on your printer and look for printing a test page.

You can check the level of ink in your printer by going to control panel, click on printers and other hardware, then printer, right click and choose properties. At the bottom of the general tab it will say printing prefferences, click on that, another window will open with several tabs on the top. You want to choose services, click service this device and you will be given even more options. One of those options is estimated ink level. Hope this helps.

You will notice by the colour of the ink on the paper. Print a test page from the diagonstics and check your colours

after u print.... a little message pops up telling u that ur printer is low on ink and that u need to replace the ink cartridge.

if there is not a light in the side, then you can tell when you print something... the colors will be faded and messed up...

First off the print starts with horizontal lines of missing ink, then it gets worse. Whatever you do stop printing when you first notice and replace the cartridge straight away. Carrying on can mess up the printer.

I use Windows XP Prof., and a Cannon printer. My printer has two cartridge, one black and one color. Type something in word pad and click on print. My pc will show on the bottom Right hand side of my monitor both tanks and will advise me that I am low either on the color or the black. Open and printer and check to make sure that the cartridge contacts are in correct or else the ink will not flow out of the jets.

When you hit the quot;printquot; button, a screen will pop up and notify you that you have low ink. And the pages will start coming out not that clear. But also when you hit print, a screen normally pops up to tell you how far it s gotten in printing, and it shows the level of both your black and/or color ink.

the software tells you for most printers. and if it is not printing that is always the first thing to check.

The computer had a message that said that the levels of ink were low. I put in a new cartridge of ink, but it still says this. It says, The following ink tanks are running low. Reset the ink counter using the Maintenance tab of the printer driver whenever you have replaced any ink tank with new one. I don t know where the miantenace tab is. Click start/printers and faxes. Right click the printer and choose properties. If you have installed the driver from the CD, one of the tabs should say maintenance.

What type of printer is it? You should go to the manufacturers website and troubleshoot it there. There are too many printer types to even hazard a guess at your answer.

Is it possible to print on regular glossy paper from a laser printer? -

I am thinking about purchasing a laser printer and would like to print alot of photographs. I have accumulated alot of glossy paper that I have been using on my inkjet printer, and would like to use the same paper on my new laser printer. Is this possible? I have heard that the toner from the laser printer may fall off the paper, is this true? Or does it not matter at all? If this indeed is an issue, what is the best course of action? It s not so much that the toner will quot;fallquot; off the paper, it s more how the laser printers work that is the issue. Standard ink jet printers work by simply squirting tiny drops of ink onto the paper. Laser printers are much more complicated, involving a photo-reactive drum and a high temperature fusing element. This quot;Fuserquot; gets very hot and will for the most part melt the glossy coating on the regular paper. There is specially made glossy paper for laser printers and are the only paper you should use.

Of course you can use glossy paper on laser printers.

The 6110N is networked with built-in web management. Their printing capabilities are identical (pretty sure).

If I remember correctly the simplest anser is the 6110N is LAN./Ethernet compatible, and the 6110B is USB.

most modern printers go into quot;alignmentquot; when an ink cartridre is changed and often after shutdown, photo paper is expensive. strongly suggest you load some paper and go thru the alignment process, it will result in better prints. if in doubt, contact the manufacturer; you are still on warranty

Do you mean to ONLY SEND a fax...? Without going through all of the set-up process, etc.? If that is what you mean, and you have a land line phone (not cell) just plug in the fax machine, dial the number ( I would suggest having document in the document feeder already) and hit the green send button. It really should be that simple.

look on ebay. there are tons of deals for printer ink refill sets for really cheap. but be careful, not all this ink is suitable for every printer model. so called quot;all purpose inkquot; is bad, it should match your printers needs. and as a general rule, don t buy from a seller with less than 99% positive feedback.

Sure is, but if you don t do it right you can really mess up the cartridge AND your printer. Some ink refills contain inferior inks that will totally wreck your printer. I d suggest you spend the extra $$ and buy new.

Printer sharing needs to be turned on (Network and Sharing on the Vista system) and (Firewall advanced settings printer sharing check boxed in the XP system) and you both need to be in the same workgroup. That should do it...

It depends on the printer. Some software packages like Print Shop know that you might need this option, and it gives you the option to quot;mirrorquot; your image which is what you want to do. If you are not using special software, it depends on the printer. I have an Epson inkjet that will allow me to go into the prferences and click the checkbox to print a mirror image. I have an Oki Laser that will not give me that option.

To reverse an image you could use the Paint application that comes with windows. Just open the image in Paint and then click the Image menu and choose quot;flip/rotatequot;. Flip Horizontal will give you a mirror image of your picture. Save it using a different filename and you are good to go. The transfer paper can be bought from any computer store.

usually you can go to their website and download just the drivers for that printer. i always try to do this because driver disks have other garbage that gets loaded (apps).

All you have to do is go to support.lexmark.com, look under Drivers amp; Downloads, and click on Driver Finder. Select your printer model and select your operating system (Windows/Mac) and then download the driver and software.
