I have a new computer. How do I get the printer to stop making copies ? -

It keeps printing. I turned it off,but it still is printing endless copies of the same thing.

stop printer... click start, printers and faxes, double click on printer name, select document and click cancel. start printer it should stop after printing a page.

Go into the menu and click down to memory and have the memory not hold your copies.

Turn off computer UN plug printer from power wait two minutes plug it in start computer and print.

You could just unplug it...... no more electricity = no more copies...... Or you just could break it....

Press cancel on the printer.

You could try pulling the plug off of the printer Hope this works

unplug it or smash it with a baseball bat

Are there any services that refill old inkjet cartidges anymore, or do I have to use a kit? -

I used to use Cartridge World, but they ve gone into administration. I really don t want to buy new carts, as the waste is terrible, and pretty expensive. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

cartridge world along with others in the same business i m afraid, the whole idea of refilling cartridges was a bad idea, there were so many problems, apparently the cartridge manufacturers are in the process of making cheaper cartridges to avoid having to use refills, of course we will all believe that when we see it. if you do go for refills then do so on recommendation, as with most other things there are the cowboys who are out to make a fast buck, i now always stick with new cartridges because of the problems i had with refills. take care and good luck.

Here is Walgreen s, the giant nationwide drug store chain (4700 stores in 44 states) doing refills for $10. See their ad in this link. http://www.walgreens.com/printercartridg…

if you have a Walgreens where you live I know they do refills. I have seen them advertise it on their sign outside. Other than that, you might can try and office store.

have you tried looking on ebay maybe?

if u live in pa then ya i m not going any further

How to fax multiple pages at once? -

I am only able to fax 1 page at a time but I need to fax 20+ pages. Is there a way to put in the number of pages and fax number only once even if I put the pages in 1 at a time?

No. Put all the pages in the machine and dial the number. If you put them in one at a time you have to dial the number each time (or hit resend).

your best solution is using online fax services, they allow you to use broadcast faxing which means you can send several faxes all at once and all from your computer, check out http://faxfromyourcomputer.com/

Can I put a slightly different ink cartridge into my printer? -

I ve got an HP deskjet 932c printer, and I just bought the wrng kind of ink for it (it s Black 20--says it fits HP deskjet 610, 612, 630, 632, etc. but doesn t say 932.) Do you think I could try it anyway? What would happen? Would it work?

all injet printers take a certain cartridge for each machine. you can have the empty cartridge refilled but remember the ink isn t going to be the same as the oem ink, also the refill ink can clog up your ink purge unit/suction station. there you have it please choose wisely.

Ink cartridges are Specific for each printer without a fudge factor. I d suggest you take the incorrect cartridge back to where you purchased and swap it for what you need. I Hope this Helps!

No it will not work. The cartridge containment , quality of the ink or the coding on the container any of these could be different. using the wrong one may even damage the jet-spray system

no .. it wont work been there gt;lt;quot;

What would make a printer print out the pages backwards? -

I have check the settings on the printer and it is set to print from front to back instead of back to front. I have even uninstall and reinstalled the printer. There is no spyware or virus on my machine. So what would cause this?

go to control panel click on printers click show installed printers RIGHT CLICK on the printer Left click propertys click on printing prefferences uncheck rotated click apply

this answer missed one important aspect in his instructions... the OS. In XP there is a button that you click which is under the section quot;Page Orderquot;. There are two choices: quot;Fron to Backquot; (1-80) or quot;Back to Frontquot; (80-1). The collate option is for more than one copy of your document. Report Abuse

it has to be the collate pages, check that you have it set up for printing first to last

I take it that you are saying that your printer is printing down 80-1 when you want it to print up 1-80. Make sure you try the quot;collatequot; box in the print dialog. When you set it to Collate, I believe it reverses print order.

who cares? just move the pages 180 degrees and your problems are over!

I need what I will need to make my printer into a network printer, enabling to print from 3 different computer? -

I have 3 computer that are running wireless, and I need to be able and print from one printer, so I do not have to buy 2 more printers

Is your printer network-enabled? If not, you would have to buy a print server, such as http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/c…

That is a lot of work. One of your computers will have to remain on all the time. You connect your printer to one of the computers, and you send the print tasks to the printer through the computer connected to it. It is a lot of work, so you should try searching for specific instructions on google or pay someone to do it for you. On the other hand, you can just buy a network printer. Easier alternative: email yourself the file to be printed, go to the computer connected to the printer, download and print!

they all need to be running the same operating system. then you need to setup a network on the computer connected to the printer. once you do that, you have to set the network options on the other 2. if you need more assistance, google it or something. there are tons of sites that will give you step by step guides. it s pretty easy to do. one thing to add. the computer connected to the printer will have to remain turned on if you are to print anything from one of the other computers. if the main cpu is turned off, then the print command won t make it to the printer.

Best Buy has a printer router thing you can go get in their computers section. You plug it into the USB port of your printer and it makes your printer wireless. There s other variations to this too. Go to Best Buy and talk to a computer specialist and they will help you out.

You need an adapter that will allow you to plug the USB cord into the adapter then plug an Ethernet cable into your router.. I believe there called print servers.

Printer Share Switch or a Printer Hub. Both do the same thing. Hub is more expensive.

Want to print from one computer to the printer attached to another? -

I have two computers at home, both with high speed connection to Internet. In one of them I have an HP Photosmart 3180 printer. Is there a way I can send print jobs to my printer from the computer that does not have it attached?

If your computers are networked together, a you need to activate printer sharing for the network (assuming Windows XP). Go to control panel then printers and faxes then click to the printer to highlight it. Once highlighted, left click on properties and a pop up box will appear. In this box, choose the sharing tab and give the printer a name such and make and model nogt; (HPpsc150) or something generic like printer1 and click ok. may need to reboot in oder for the change to go through

It has to be wi-fi

Hi. Yes if you have the computers networked. The printer can be set up as a shared device.

e-mail it, or....FLASH DRIVE baby! lol

If you have a network at home yes. You can share the printer on the network by right clicking it in quot;Printers and Faxesquot; and select quot;Sharingquot;. This will allow the printer to be shared throughout those attached to your network. In order for the other computer to detect the printer, the printer has to be on.

Two ways. 1. The printer must be networked to each computer. 2. If your computers are networked together then you can do it. The last option is to copy your document to a key drive or portable external hard drive and then move it to the other computer for printing.

I bought an out of date inkjet print cartridge for my printer. Can I still use it or will it harm my printer? -

I have an HP All-In-One printer and bought a cartridge that has install by APR 2008. Not sure if I should use it, do not want to harm my printer. Any help gratefully accepted thank you.

It won t hurt your printer, but the copies might not be to clear or faded. I have used out of date myself.

you can probably, the ink is still good so it should print find if it doesn t buy now ink for your printer.

Go ahead and use it. It will NOT harm your printer.

worst that will happen is it doesnt work

What is the best all-in-one printer for someone who prints a lot of text? -

I am looking to replace my HP 1210 all-in-one printe,r which cost under $100, 3 years ago. It used HP 56 and 57 cartridges, which hold 19ml of ink. In looking for a new HP printer, all of the all-in-one printers seem to use the new 21/22 or 92/93 cartridges, which only hold 5ml of ink. I am in law school and frequently find myself printing 40 pages at a time. I already feel like I go through my ink cartridges too quickly. Buying a printer where the cartridges only hold 1/4 the amount seems like it will not suit my needs, but I am having trouble finding one that will print as many pages as my current printer for a similar price. I do need an all-in-one for occasional copying needs, and I would prefer one that does not have a fax machine. I also do hope not to spend much over $100. Has anyone found a printer (HP or otherwise) recently that fits this criteria? Thank you very much!

I would suggest paying a bit more (around 200+) for an all in one monochrome laser printer. Each cartridge costs around 60-80 bucks and will print pages in the 1000 s not hundreds. ex http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail…

Any all in one will do, but I personally prefer the MP160 from Canon. It prints with great quality, even with photos, and cost at most $90. It is sometimes FREE after rebates. Try froogle-ing it. The one here only costs $60...

I don t know a lot about printers. I think though that we have the same printer as you though. It s a HP 1200 series inkjet style. We have to replace the cartridges almost weekly, it s ridiculous. From what I ve heard though, HP has a great deal on a black and white laser printer for about $200. The laser cartridges are very expensive, but it s the kind of thing that will save you money in the long run. Those laser cartridges last forever. The sales associate at a printer store told us the inkjets work out to about 6 cents a page and the lasers work out to about 2 or 3 cents a page. You can use the laser for black and white and your inkjet for color. I ve also seen ink refills at the mall. Maybe they can refill those cartridges for you at a good price.

If you print more text than anything, invest in a monchrome laser printer, then just use a photo printer capable all in one on the side for those infrequent color jobs you want. The cost will more than offset in short time!! that was the best investment I ever made! To see which ones are highest rated go to PCWORLD.com or computershopper.com. they have test results every month.

Whatever you purchase stay away from Brother MFC... It will disable scanner if even only one cartridge empty..see my latest question.

An absolute must for doing every thing is the HP officejet 6200 series 4-in-1 machine. My mom has one and uses it regularly for business and great photo printing. Good Luck Buying!!!

How do I change my printers ink drying time? -

I have a Canon S530D, and what happens is my printer waits a looong time to print the next sheet of paper. I suspected the dry time was set as long so I checked under the printer s preferences, on the maintenance tab and went to custom settings. There it showed me the option for ink dry time and it was all the way to longest, but it was grayed out and unchangeable. Anyone know how to fix this?

i had always thought dry time had more to do with the actual makeup of the ink than anything else, and had not been aware there was an option to change it... sorry :( you might call canon and ask their technicians?

Not 100 percent sure about this one. Checking the following may resolve the issue: *Is the printer setup correctly (See User guide for information) User guide link: http://alpha02u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServle… * Was the printer still completing a job when you attempted to adjust these settings ? (Is the slider still greyed out when machine printing). * Do the pages being printed contain a lot of ink ? * Does the printer have the latest firmware installed (Check manufacturers website for updates) Note: You really shouldn t have a problem changing these settings. If the problem still occurs i recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the software. If you do change the dry time, you will need to remove each page from the output to avoid sticking as the ink will still be wet when the next page exits (This is because adjust the dry time actually adjusts the pause in between printing. not the drying time of the ink). I hope this has helped ;)

I would suspect it is based on two factors. The type of paper selected and the density (pixal resolution) selected. I have had that type of problem when printing. It normally was caused by wanting a dense print, high quality, large size output. It was using the time to compose the information to the printer through the spooler, had nothing to do with drying time. Between prints, watch your hard drive and see of there is a lot of activity with nothing else running, and if the ready light on the printer is blinking.

Whats the fastest print setting for Lexmark printer 4227 plus ? -

The printer is set on default macro 2 , I ve tried to change all settings but still cant find the fastest setting .

When I had a Lexmark I would had to go into print preferences then I think there was a menu of print qualities such as draft, best and quick print. You then pressed which one of these you wanted as if you want the best quality, its default setting, then it will be slower as it has to print darker. Quick print will print quicker but will be lighter and draft is quickest but the lightest colour. I think you can save the settings as a new default but as I no longer have a Lexmark I can t remember how to do it but your instruction manual should tell you how to set new defaults. Edit I have my old Lexmark manual in front of me but its for a different model to yours but as they are usually the same for somthings I will tell you what it says to do and see if it works for yours. Open Print Properties. Then preferences. Then Options,or Set Up. The picture shows that the menu that comes up has quality/copies on it and then by the side of it, it says: Quality/ speed Down the down side of it, it has: Quick print Normal (default) Best Click the one you want. I notice on the top of that picture of the menu there is a, Save settings symbol and arrow to drop the menu down for it.

What cymbals should i get next for my drum kit? -

I have a 14quot; hi-hat, 16quot; crash, 20quot; ride (all paiste pst3) and a 20quot; chinese and a 10quot; splash (sabian XS20) what should i get for my next crash and splash? and any suggestions for more cymbals and what kinds?

If you prefer Sabian cymbals, I would suggest a 14quot; B8 Pro Thin Crash, because it s sharply focused with a bright sound. For the splash, I would buy a B8 series 8quot; for the solid blast of sound. Other suggestions for Sabian cymbals would be B8 Pro Medium 14quot; hats, a 19quot; Neil Peart Paragon China, and a 20quot; HH Rock ride cymbal. If you prefer Zildjian cymbals, I would purchase a 15quot; A Custom Crash cymbal because it can be heard over the rest of the band. As for the splash, you can t beat a 9quot; K custom Hybrid splash for it s sound, it doesn t sound like a piece of tin! Other suggestions for Zildjian cymbals would be 14quot; ZHT Mastersound hats, an 18quot; China Low, and a 20quot; K Custom Dry Ride. If you prefer Paiste cymbals, an 18quot; Medium 2002 crash is full sounding and is durable. For the splash, a Twenty Series 10quot; is a great cymbal with dynamic response to a hit. Other suggestions for Paiste cymbals are 13quot; Signature Sound Edge hats, a 18quot; Rude Novo China cymbal, and a 21quot; Signature Dry Heavy Ride.

The gold standard for cymbal composition is 20% Bronze or B20, which many companies call it. If you already have cymbals and want to upgrade, I d go straight for the gold instead of taking small, expensive steps. Some suggested B20 cymbals that I myself have owned at one time or another: Sabian XS20 - Best bang for the buck, great cymbals. I have an 18quot; crash ride from this series and it s great. Meinl Byzance - I use Traditional finish and Jazz finish Byzance cymbals and they re the best quot;darkquot; sounding cymbals on todays market (except for vintage Zildjian K) Zildjian K Custom/K Custom Hybrid - Excellent cymbals, may even be superior to the Byzances by just a hair, however they are very expensive. Zildjian A Customs - The quot;Standardquot; pro line cymbal, sound tends to be a bit brighter than the above cymbals, however almost every drum shop has many in stock to try out. Dream Bliss - Very dark sounding cymbals and made of B22 Bronze. As you can see I m biased towards darker sounding cymbals. I m not sure what you re looking for. My best advice would be to play as many different cymbals as you can and go from there. Don t look at what other drummers use or endorse, trust your own ears.

your cymbals have to sound good together. I personally am a zildjian drummer. I would check to see if an 18 A Custom crash would sound good with your current set up. Or you could replace your hi-hats with Zildjian A custom mastersounds. I m not very familiar with sabian or paiste, but make sure that you are in the upper sections of there product lines. If your not i would recommend replacing them.

Wrong section...try under music/instruments

Whats the regular size for a image to be printed at? -

I want to print a picture of bruce lee but am not sure what size to set it to on my printer so it prints the full image on paper. Does anyone one know the image size so it ll take up the whole print the whole paper?

Depends on the size of paper. If it s A4 (european standard) its 297x210 mm If A3, 420x297mm If it s american format paper it s listed by it s dimensions in inches from memory, such as 8.5x11 Just open print previes or options and choose scale to fit paper

Most printers you can just select best fit to page. Usually 8x11.5 inches is maximum. If you have an odd size, photo you will have to use a photo editing program to resize it such as photo shop, picture it, etc.to get it as close to the edge as possible. In the program you can select the largest image to fit as long as it maintains proper proportions or dosent stretch or distort Bruce.

What do I do when my computer says that my printer is offline? -

my pc says that my printer is offline but I dont find any wires or plugs that is unplugged. Please someone help IMMEDIATELY. This is urgent.

Either your printer is switched off or your printers driver is not installed. You must install your printer bu going to START -gt; PRINTERS AND FAXES-gt; ADD A PRINTER

What would be the first thing thatt I would do when my printer shows Offline? 1) Click on START gt; CONTROL PANEL gt; PRINTERS amp; FAXES 2) Right click on the Printer icon and click no quot;USE PRINTER ONLINEquot; This works most of the time ;)

loOK , printers have some button , one for turning them on or off and one to make them stop printing in the print progress , the second but tom is usually like a strike , if you have that button , you can simply push that , before this click on the printer s icon on the down right part of the screen , if your printer is offline on it is written that your printer is of line , then when you push the button every thing is ok , some times even this doesn t work , if your case has different usb cables , try another one , i had this problem , but now i know that just one of my usb ports are compatible with my printer , if still you have problem may be your cable has some problem , may be the wire inside it is cut ,,,,,,, . you can contact your printer s service center , they will help you for sure

Gp to My Computer, right click, choose disk management and check Universal serial bus for a + before it. If not, uninstall and reinstall software.

check the device manager. if the comptuer doesnt recognize it you will see a yellow mark and that means you need to install the driver..try driverguide.com and type in the correct manufacturer..if you dont see the yellow mark go to the add new hardware wizard in the control panel and reinstall it..if that doesnt work, replace the cables one by one.

I always lose my connection from my computer to my printer. How can I correct this? -

I have Windows XP. My printer is a Canon Multi Pass F60. After my system is up for a while I try to print and I get a Windows message saying printer is not connected. I try to turn the printer off and back on. Doesn t help. Try disconnecting printer. Doesn t help. I do have a Canon printer status bar but it does not let me reconnect printer. The only thing that works is to completely shut down Windows and restart. Then the printer works. If the printer is off after I reboot the status bar knows it is not connected. I turn the printer on then I have to reconnect it in the Canon status bar. Which is no big deal. It is a real drag to have to reboot when I want to print. Once I reboot the connection lasts for about an hour or so. I do not believe I am doing anything to disconnect the printer.

It could be a lose connection at the back of the printer or a software flaw. I would try to properly seat the printer cable after I cleaned the connection with a brush (could be just dirt on the connections). If the connection on the printer seems lose to the touch, see if you can get inside and tighten it. If no-go, then reinstall the software and have Control Panel recognize it as a default. (The new installation, that is.) ;-)

How can i print to a printer that is connected to my house computer without connecting any cords? -

Isn t there a way we can print through a network or something. I use the wireless internet that is connected on their computer. I m asking because at work we all print to one computer and we are not all connected by cords.

Create a home network - each computer must be part of the same workgroup - allow file and printer sharing so your firewall won t block access - then you quot;sharequot; the connected printer - on each computer not connected to the printer, go to control panelgt;printers and add a printer, selecting network printer. If this sounds far too complicated, you can download Network Magic (includes 7 day free trial to test the network printing feature after which you will have to purchase) http://www.networkmagic.com/product/esse…

You will need to buy a router that can act as a Print server. You can get one from any computer shop. Instructions for setup etc should be in the box. Cheers Dave

wireless home network

Hopefully these links will assist you with file amp; print sharing http://www.practicallynetworked.com/shar… http://compnetworking.about.com/od/windo… http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp… http://www.theeldergeek.com/quick_guide_… wdw

If range isn t your biggest worry you could get a Bluetooth printer but the cheapest and most efficient solution would be to simply share it through the router. If I m not mistaken, you can simply hit the share button on the computer, give it a name and it should be in the quot;My Network Connectionsquot; or go to the control panel and add a printer with the name you ll gives yours. Hope you make it!:-)

How do I set my hp officejet pro l7680 up for wireless printing? -

my printer is connected to my computer but I want to print from my laptop as well.

If you want true wireless you will need to buy the HP print server as outlined below, or the wireless printing kit, either of these should give you full print, fax and scan functions wirelessly. You could then move the printer into any room that you wanted If you simply want to share the printer between different PCs/laptops throughout your house your printer has an inbuilt ethernet port so you could connect it to your wireless router via an ethernet cable and all the Pcs/laptops would be able to print to it wherever they were The final link below give you setup instructions for an ethernet wired connection to your router

Hp Officejet d135 does not show any errors yet will not print, What could be wrong? -

I have been given a used all in one officejet d135 and it won t make copies or print at all. It just shoots out blank pages. It has new ink cartridges. What are some of the possible problems? HP support wants me to pay extra for tech info about this printer. If you know anything about it please let me know.

you are probably missing the drivers for the printer, the cd that came with it , once read the first time, are not available on the cd, you will need to get an install cd from hp

How do I get my printer to work without using a USB port? -

The USB ports on my computer are fried!!!! Of course that s what my printer is suppose to be hooked up to. Is there anyway to connect using something else???

most printers come with something called a parallel port, get a parallel cable and connect your printer up with that, your pc should have a parallel port. The port is usually long and purple

One way would be to connect it to your parallel port if both your computer and printer have them (nowadays, most dont). If you computer is a desktop, you could buy a new USP port card and install that so your computer had USP support. If thats not possible, you could get a print server and connect it to your network if you have one. (or to your router, if you have that).

Are you sure the USB ports are really fried and it s not just a windows screwup. Might be worth trying with a livecd to see if the hardware is ok Assuming it really is the hardware then if you have a free PCI slot you could fit a PCI USB card.

How can I prevent people from stealing the ink cartriges from the printer at the office? -

Is there some kind of lock I can put?

It would be trivial to mount a clasp-latch and padlock to the outside of most printers such that the door cannot be opened. Since they are almost all plastic cases, I would suggest using epoxy to glue a clasp to the case and a small luggage-style lock. However, if you don t trust the workers, they shouldn t be working there. Figure out why someone is stealing the ink cartridges and fix the real problem.

I somehow can not picture employees stealing ink cartridges. I would go for the staplers.

Put a sign by the printer saying that anyone caught stealing ink cartridges will be fired.

are you paying to replace these cartridges? if not i wouldn t worry about......and if ya do, what are ya going to do about ? .......people steal everything and anything these days, so this just sounds the norm to me..........scott

Get a really big black guy with a baseball bat to guard it...

Lock up the ink cartridges giving only one person the key. That person is responsible for replacing the ink when the ink run out. That person is also responsible for sending back the the old ones for refiles. The also keep a record of how many they purchased and have do not share it with anyone

Install a cheap videocam and catch the cheapskate.

move the printer nearer your desk, put a sign on it.. quot;next person that takes the ink cartridge ,is considered Quitquot;

What is a good printer for making high-quality iron-on transfers? -

I am looking for a printer that makes high-quality color prints onto iron-on transfer paper.

There s a huge discussion about this, and an entire forum devoted to the topic, with how-to s and tips on every aspect, at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php… Best of luck!

You can do this with most ink jet printers, the trick is really with the transfer itself and not the printer. If you don t set the iron hot enough transfer will not come out properly.

How can i do continuous printing in Tally 7.2 using a dot matrix printer? -

I have chosen fanfold as my paper. In setting i have also tried different margins but it dont work. Problem is that first page prints properly then, one page comes blank and printing starts from third page. Please help Thanking you

Check your printer settings. You have set a blank page to print between pages. There should be a banner setting. You may have to make the setting in your application also. Good Luck.

What is the best nonexpensive home printer that uses the least amount of ink and the most inexpensive ink? -

I have been looking at the new Kodak printers.

Epson offers what you can bargain for. A good all in one and each ink cartridge is separated. If one of the ink is empty, just replace the emptied cartridge without worrying replacing all the colors. epson.com/ Ht2?

you can get printers for free but ink will cost you the money. Some of the kodak high end printers are very expensive. Look into HP or canon, they are cheaper.

There are many reasonably priced printers out there now. Usually you can get a 3 in 1 ( fax, scanner, and color printer) deskjet for about $100.00. The price of ink cartridges is no longer an issue for many people since you get one cartridge of color and one of black with printer. After the cartridge runs out you can take them to Walgreen s or Home Depot and have them refilled for $5 to $15 each.

Can anyone help me by telling me the easiest way to set a wirless on my computer? -

How much will an HP Photosmart 7760 Printer go for? -

It is completely working, has photo paper included, full color and black ink cartridges and full software.

They currently sell for 58 dollars in stores so used I would say anywhere from 30 to 40 dollars

How do I print labels on my Lexmark X4650? -

I can t find any info on how to load labels or even if it is possible print labels at all. I have not yet contacted Lexmark.

Yes, you can print labels, just buy the type that come on an A4 sheet and load in the normal way. However, what you don t say is what program you are using because, of couse, you have to type them out first of all. If you have Microsoft Works, Office or OpenOffice you can do labels quite easily through letters and mailings and choosing the label option and selecting the size of those you have bought. If you tell us what program you have then we can give you step by step instructions on how to set up your labels.
