Where do I connect the usb cable from my printer to the computer? -

So my printer wasn t working lately and I found a cable that said quot;USB 2.0quot; that was hooked to my printer, but NOT on my computer. Where do I hook it up from there? I can t find a place to hook it up.

On the back of your PC you will find USB ports insert the printer cable in one of the port start your printer then install the driver for printer.

look for the rectangle ports on the back of the computer. Those should be a USB ports

look for a rectangle box on your computer. and if you still cant find it; go to your printer companies website. you ll find tons on mauals there

It must have fallen out fron a USB port on the back (or perhaps, front) of your computer. Look more carefully, there must be one back there; after all it was plugged in and working once, wasn t it?

It would be very unusual for a computer to have no usb ports. Maybe your ports are already being used by your keyboard, mouse etc. If you don`t have enough ports, you can buy a very cheap adaptor, that will enable you to plug more stuff in. I bought one from ebay, there is an example of one in the link below.

How do i fix error 1053 and my printing spooler? -

After my computer broke my spooler went wrong i keep saying error 1053 or 1068. Can someone help i need it desperately, please help me i need help.

Error 1068 is a common Windows error message. Error 1068 can sometimes be caused by a hung program running in the background or more commonly a corrupted registry file. Use CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the task manager, if there is anything listed with [Not Responding] end task it. Next, run a registry scan to check for registry errors. Error 1053 when you try to start SQL Server Agent .for this error go to support.microsoft.com ,in search tab write error 1053 and will search the resolved question , but i think so it s very hard if you don t know ( i m sorry to say that but ...... )

heres a link for an automatic fix for this: http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else Report Abuse

I can probably fix your printing spooler error. Go to start --gt; run --gt; type (without brackets) [services.msc]. Then scroll down and find the printing spooler service. You need to start it, by right clicking on the service and going to properties --gt; and select automatic in the startup type label. Then click start below to start the service. Your computer now can print stuff.

Is there a program out there where you can control your printer movements? -

Basically move from one side to the other? Or have it move back and forth continuously at different frequencies? A program that uses the control board already on the printer.

I expect your are talking about DMP (Dot Matrix Printers). If yes then till date no one thought of such wild usage of a printer and therefore its not developped. However its very easy to develop such program, may be by writing batch file to invoke kernel. If you are talking about any other printer then please be specific.

How do I print a rather large image? -

I have a large photograph (family tree image) that I need to print, which will take several sheets of paper. When I try to print it, it always tries to scale or shrink the image. What do I do?

It is doing this because it is a single image amp; not a document. You can use something as simple as paint, increase the image size, then cut and paste it into many smaller images and print those. It will always try to reduce a single image to a single sheet. The other option is to print it in a program (like infranview which is free) that will print it true size (as many sheets as needed) and not reduce it.

You have two options - either set the image to quot;Fit to Printerquot; or - if you want to print it to actual size, you will need to send it to a commercial printer to get printed so that they can print it on a a bigger A3 or AO printer. How much will the 2nd option cost? I don t know, ring a print shop and find out.

Depending on your printer you might be able to print as a poster which will divide the image over four pages with or without crop marks and then you need to join them together

Is their any way of getting black copy paper to print stuff? -

I need black basic black copy paper that can go through a printer. I need to be able for it to be easy to find here in Denton Texas PLEASE HELP ME AND FAST!!!!

There is black paper on the site in the link. It looks costly thought with some being $900 a pack! http://www.thepapermillstore.com/home.ph…

That is not going to work. Conventional printers rely on being used on light colored paper. On black paper any colour of ink will look black. You can t get opaque white ink. On black paper you will have the same problem with toner ina laser printer. Again, you can t get opaque white toner. Even yellow toner will not be opaque enough to show up as yellow.

What is the diffirent between inkjet printer and leaser printer? -

what is the diffirent between inkjet printer and leaser printer? and witch one batter to use? and what is the best modle to buy?

Laser are cheaper to run if you have a lot of printing to do but cost a lot more if you want to print photos to any reasonable standard. Inkjets are slower and more expensive but print to a much higher standard. I use a Laser for letter and prints of internet pages and an inkjet for photos So if you mainly print just a few letters then the inkjet is best for you.

INKJET: Inkjet printers work by spraying small amounts of quick-drying ink through a nozzle onto a sheet of paper; tiny deflective plates alter the ink s path to create the desired shapes. Ink is stored in disposable ink cartridges. Low-end inkjet printers use three ink colours (cyan, magenta, and yellow), and usually black as a fourth, compared to a quot;photo printerquot; that will have anywhere from a 5- to 12-colour ink system (e.g. light magenta, red, blue, or light cyan). Because a business user may print certain colours more frequently, single-colour cartridges have become more common, as you only need to replace these individual tanks as needed. Pros and cons: quot;Inkjet printers offer outstanding photo and document quality at a great value, quot; says Justin Joseph, spokesman for Canon s printer division. quot; With features such as automatic double-sided printing and individual ink tanks to limit wasted ink, inkjet technology has really grown for the business consumer.quot; Another advantage to inkjet over laser is they can be used on all types of paper and enjoy quality that rivals your local photo mat; this is why inkjet printers are more ideal for photos than laser printers. While inkjet printers are relatively inexpensive (as low as $50), be aware replacing ink may become costly as you ll burn through these cartridges faster than laser printers. LASER: Laser printers apply lasers to an area of a photoconductive drum. The electrical charge causes toner particles to cling to the rotating cylinder, forming a shape that will be transferred over to the printed page through heat and pressure. Multi-pass colour laser printers use one imaging drum repeatedly for each CMYK colour (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). A faster solution, however, is single-pass (a.k.a. inline) colour laser printers that contain four imaging drums, allowing the page to be printed in just one pass. Pros and cons: Laser printers are ideal for producing high volumes thanks to the high-yield inks, plus they are faster at spitting out documents than inkjet printers. If you only need black-and-white printing, consider a monochrome laser printer over an inkjet printer. Other advantages to laser printers include high-volume paper trays, multiple finishing options, and more network options than inkjet printers. But laser printers cost more than inkjet printers. A decent monochrome laser printer typically costs about $150 on the low-end (add another hundred or two for a good colour laser printer), which is considerably more than a photo lab-quality inkjet printer. It should be noted prices for colour laser printers have dropped considerably over the years.

Inkjet printers use ink cartridges while laser printers have a whole bunch of different parts and basically burn the image to the paper. Laser printers are more expensive to buy, and the replacement cartrigdes are as well, but they last much longer than ink jets. What type of printer you buy depends on what kind of quality of printing you need or want, how much you are willing to spend up front. The higher cost of the laser jet will pay for itself over time, depending on how much you use it.

An inkjet printer Uses Ink to mark the paper, has to have ink cartridges. Is cheaper to run than Laserjet. Ink jet printers are best suited for home use. A LaserJet printer Uses lasers to mark the paper, has to have a toner which is alot bigger than cartridges. The toner is bigger and more expensive than cartridges but lasts longer. Laser jets are quicker at printing than ink. The paper is dry straight away. The laser jets are bigger printers and are best suited for offices. I work in Staples and we sell many different types of printers and office Equipment. I would suggest Lexmark if you want it to be wireless. If not go for the Epson DX8400 or any DX/SX series. The DX8400 can copy scan and print good quality photos. The ink is cheap compared to HP and comes in individual cartridges meaning you can change one colour at a time. In the set there are 3 colours and 1 black all for £24. You also don t need to use the pc and can print Straight from a memory card. We have had no complaints and I recommend Epson DX/SX series to all customers as it can cater to everyones needs. The DX8400 changes its price frequently due to demand, but it never goes over the £100 mark.

the inkjet printer has many disadvantages as it is very slow and the print out is also blur the laserjet printer, reliable and not too expensive(black and white) hp 1020 lazerjet printer it is more reliable

leaser cartridge has scanning facilities and it is long term ,it is expensive.whereas ink jet does not have this facilities .it is less expensive.

laser printer works on laser technology n powder ink is used. while in ink jet liquid ink is filled. although laser costs more but printing cost is low. if u wanna print more than 10pages in a day then prefer LASER.

laser cartridge last longer but are expensive, inkjet run out quicker and are cheaper in short term.

Can someone please tell me what would be cheaper - printing at home, or taking it to Staples? -

I need to print out a 400 page manuscript for my grandpa. Would it be cheaper to print it on my home printer (where I would have to by ink cartridges and paper), or to take it to Staples, where it would probably be around 10 cents per page? If printing at home, how many ink cartridges do you think it would take? Thanks!

The answer depends on many factors. The type of printer you have and the average amount of documents it can print per cartridge. For instance, my HP L7680 prints an average 2,460 black and white text pages with a $35. high-capacity ink cartridge = 1.4 cents per page. Good paper usually costs no more than .02 cents per page. Which brings the total to 3.4 cents per page. Add to that gas savings from staying home. So, for me it would cost $13.60 to print it at home and save gas - as opposed to $40. That said...before making a decision: 1. see if you can find the average amount of pages per cartridge for your printer. 2. call Staples or Kinko s (et al) and ask if they have: any sale, or a cost match program (often you can get copies at .05 cents each. 3. ask if they use a desk jet or a laser printer. Laser printers often have a nicer appearance, and that might be worth paying a bit more.

for the quantity, go to Staples and have it bound!

I would not only consider prices for paper material and ink. Also consider that the service can get you a nice quality fast and bind it. If you do it at home it could turn out to be a nerve wracking several hour job and you might miss a couple of pages too.

Do it at home. You can go to a place like Walgreens and get the cartridge refilled for about $12. Many places refill cartridges and they work as well as new.

10 cents per page at 400 pages would be around 40$ so if you think about it, if you print at home, unless you get ink online and you find offbrands at 3 or 4 dollars a cartridge, you re going to have to buy a new ink cartridge either before your re done or after, plus you ll have to buy the paper which lets say you find a 5 dollar 500 count stack, and the cartridge is going to cost you about 25 or so, if not more, in the end it would be a close call, but Kinkos would be much easier. Home printers suck for mass printing.

400 pages, I d go to staples or kinkos, ink is pretty expensive for printers and 400 pages is a lot!

Print it at work. If you don t have access to a printer at work ask someone you know to print it at their job for ya. Good Luck!

It depends on how much your printer consumes ink. May I suggest perhaps print in draft mode, proof read your document. And if it s perfect for printing, then take it to Staples. You the price for printing the document will cost the same as the ink cartridge but at least you save wear and tear on your printer.

Girl, you fine! At least if you take it to Staples, you can get it binded into something like a book while you re there.

I d imagine it d be cheaper at home. 400 pages shouldn t take a whole cartridge of ink.

Oh my gosh, for that quantity, go to Staples, Kinkos, etc, it will be quicker, come out better, and with the cost of ink cartridges it will be way cheaper and save your printer from over heating, too.

It depends how expensive the cartridge is for your printer, you probably need one cartridge black for that.

Call local print/copy shops. you should be able to get the per copy price down to 5-6 cents per copy(black and white). maybe see if you can even bring in your own ream of paper to reduce costs even further.

How can you match up the colour from camera to comuter to printer? -

You are pretty much asking you pretty much asking how to make an apple into a steak. Printers print in a CYMK spectrum and Cameras Capture is a RGB. One image is based upon absorption of light, the other reflection. One option is that in higher end printers you can manually adjust your color saturation in you advanced printer properties. This is an extremely tedious task and you can after many hours get close, however a perfect match is not likely to happen.

You may not an exact match usually just close enough in general.

Is there a way to bypass the low toner error message on my Konika Minolta laser printer? -

I have plenty of black ink left, but my printer won t let me print because my yellow toner is low. Is there a way to bypass the error message it gives me so that I can continue printing? It s a Magicolor 2430 DL.

Ugh, just buy some yellow toner. It honestly doesn t cost that much and lasts you years anyways.

I recomend you visit this website where you will find real bargains in toner cartridges, so you will be able to buy more for less: http://computersandsupplies.co.cc/Inkand…

Does anybody know where i can download the driver for hp deskjet 1125c for windows xp? -

it seems that all i can search for that printer are those for other windows and platforms other than windows xp. HP site doesnt have it either. can somebody help me please? thank you in advance.

HP does have the driver for this printer, but for 64-bit systems. Assuming you have 32 bit Windows XP, the driver is already pre-installed with the operating system. If you do know FOR SURE that you have a 64-bit operating system, download it here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec… If you have a 32-bit operating system, there is no need to download the driver as it is already installed on your computer. Make sure you know whether your computer is 32 bit or 64 bit for sure---DO NOT GUESS. If these are confused, an incorrect driver may cause permanent damage to the operating system. Good Luck. Hope this helps. Email me for more assistance.

This is the only available drive for windows XP however it is XP professional. Your printer is over 9 years old and unfortunately there is no other solution for it than the xp pro driver. If this driver does not work for you and you need to get a new printer and are happy with the old one, the direct replacement for it is actually the officejet pro k8600, part number CB015A. It also is possible that the drivers could already be pre-installed with the xp software. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec…

Funny that the HP site skips that OS. Try posting on the HP forum and explain the the XP 32 bit is the only OS not listed. One of the HP people will probably respond. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/

When I try to scan a photo from my printer to my pc I get an error message. What do I need to do to fix the pr -

I can t scan an old photo to the pc without getting an error message. HP told me to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. Will this work? Anyone else have a suggestion?

It may work; try posting the actual error.

go to the printer and do it again

Could be an issue with the light or the scanner on the device, could also be (more likely) an issue with the driver software. HP s all-in-one devices have given me LOTS of troubel in the past. If this is an quot;officeJetquot; type of printer. then your best bet is to uninstall the entire software package that came with it. The newest software can be downloaded form their website (try this link, and select your model: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_… Then when you re-install choose JUSt the option for the scanner (not the printer, and if applicable the fax). then after install (and another reboot) see if it works. If this doesn t help then post again and this time tell us what the error message says.

worse comes to worse, take a picture of the picture and transport it to your computer.

How can i print silver or white text on black paper? -

I need to print silver or white text on black cardstock. I have a dell A940 all in one printer and i need to know if i can just buy silver or white ink or if i have to go to a professional print shop?! I am working on an important project and need this done fast...please help? thank you.

you will need to do couple of runs before you get it I will suggest that you set the color of the fonts first, and then do a test with your ink, as it is. 1-set the fonts 2-open print preview 3-go to property / printer preference, and select color 4- set your black paper and do your first test. 5- if satisfied , then OK be advised . 6- there is none silver ink for regular print.

You will need to outsource that to a professional print shop. There are no consumer level metallic or white inks out there.

You ll have to go the professionals for that one, I m sorry.

Can you install Half life 2 on more than one computer? -

My brother got a game for the computer. But the computer he installed it on broke down so he got another computer and when he tried to install it, it wouldn t let him. Are you only allowed to install it on one computer or did he do something wrong? Can you plz help me because if he did do something wrong than i would be able to help him get it on his computer so he stops irritating me. Thanks.

Any steam games, such as half life 2, can only be installed on one Steam account. however, if he logs into his steam account on the other computer, he can install half life 2 on it. The brilliant thing about steam is that you can access your account from anywhere and download your own games on any computer. of course, he can just install it onto his account with the disc.

Which printer is the best quality for photos and documents? -

I had a Picture Mate printer that you put your memory card in and it prints out the picture but it won t print anymore and just keeps saying quot;Close the cartrige doorquot; when it is already closed. I would like a printer to hook up to my Acer laptop that will print good quality pictures and documents. Which should I get? What is the lowest amount I can pay for a good quality one?

HP photo printer IMO.

How can I connect printer using my small office network? -

I have four computers which work together in small office network wired connected via ethernet switch. printer is connected through one of my computer. how can i put this printer in network so that I can print when I use other computers. OS is Win Xp.

Set all the machines to the same workgroup name if they are not already. You can do this from the network wizard. You need to open the firewall exception for file and printer sharing on the machine with the printer. Right click the printer, set it shared. On all other machines go to network places and browse to the machine with the printer. Double click the machine, you should see the printer. Double click it to install it locally.

Whats the difference of Scanner function and Copy function of a All in one printer ? -

Is that the Copy fuction actually is scanning then print that scanned image ?

copy just prints out a copy of the original - it doesnt go into your computer at all. you can even use it disconnected from the pc. scan sends a graphic image to the computer for you to store or manipulate

the copy function will scan your document or picture amp; will print it right away while the scan function will scan your document amp; save it to your hard drive for you to email, print or whatever you wanna do with it.

yup. the copy function prints scanned image without the aid of computers. it is just like a photocopying machine which produces hard copy instantly.

When ever I start up my computer the printer automatically installs itself. How do I stop it from doing this? -

I have a hp 1300 series printer. It keeps re-installing itself every time the computer is turned on. This is very annoying and wastes alot of time because I always have to wait for it to install all the time. It never did this before, but has done it all the time now for about a month. I m not sure what I did but would like it to install itself and stay installed everytime the computer is turned on and off.

When the installation process comes up, there should be a check box which says quot;Do not show this againquot; or something like that. Check that.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298370/en-us

Make sure it is all proberly installed, because i have that printer and i have no problem.

Well, the alternative is to turn OFF the printer, and only turn it on when you are actually going to use it..

What are your thoughts on refurbished inkjet cartridges or refilled ones? -

I have seen refurbished and refilled cartridges for 80% off. What a Deal! But I am kind of nervous about the quality and such. Should I be worried or are they safe to use. Are they going to work the same as the new? will they harm the computer?

A refilled/remanufactured cartridge is only as good as the refiller/remanufacturer. There are good ones and there are bad ones. A properly refilled cartridge will not harm anything and the output will be equal to original. In most cases, your savings will be multiplied because very few OEM cartridges are filled to capacity. Your computer won t feel a thing. Stick with an established refiller with a money-back guarantee and you will be quite pleased with the results. In most countries, it is illegal for the printer manufacturer or retailer to void your warranty based solely on the use of third-party inks. For example, Canadians and Americans are protected by the Canada Competition Act and the Sherman Antitrust Act, respectively.

Reasons why not to use refilled cartridges: * With most ink cartridges the print head is actually apart of the cartridge. So when you replace the cartridge your not only getting more ink but also a new print head (Why they are a little more expensive then refills). * Usually most ink refills are not done correctly (They are not resealed correctly, Contain inferior quality ink) * Can release above the normal amount of ink when printing (This becomes trapped in the machine and on various components. When the ink dries this can cause excessive heat and possibly burn out a system board or similar) *You can also void your printer s warranty by using them. *Most re-fillers do not guarantee that the cartridge wont damage your printer. Hope this helps ;) Note: I have a whole heap of photos of what refilled cartridges / toners actually do to the inside of your machine. When i get the time i will post them up so you have a look.

Refurbished ink cartridges have been cleaned, refilled and tested for you. They are a better way to get replacements because if you get the refill kit, you might not refill it properly. One mistake and the ink will leak into your printer, destroying it. I know this from experience and it was a nice printer too. Simply getting refilled cartridges does not guarantee they will work, whereas the refurbished normally come with a guarantee against defects.

They are great, I use them and have been for over 2 years and never had a problem.

they are ok to use. You can only refill them 2 or 3 times before they are garbage and start making a mess of your printer. For the cost of ink it s probably worth a shot in the least.

Ink-jet printers are very sensitive to the ink quality. From my experience, to avoid frustration, anger and time wasting, better buy recommended brand name cartridge even if it s like 2-3 times more expensive than refilled one. Believe me, you ll save on your health, nerve and patience.

How do I print Publisher docs on my clp HP2605dtn? -

I have just bought the printer and discovered that its limited memory won t allow me to print Word Publisher documents. Can I save the docs to a memory card and then print from that? How do I save it? I have 40+ pages in the document. The printer will print photos from a memory card and I can take photos and print them ok, but when I save my Publisher document to the memory card, the printer can t read it.

The printer does not know what to do with documents, there is too much formatting and special data to be interpreted. You will need to print from Word or Publisher. Try printing 1 page at a time from within the programs. I hope this helps.

I need to know which printer(s) for sale now are compatible with hp 94 and hp 95 ink cartridges? -

I am in search of a printer(s) that are compatiable with the Hp 94 and Hp 95 ink cartridges. I also would like to know, Are the hp 94 and 95 cartridges compatiable with the hp 96 and 97 counterparts? Thank you.

HP no longer manufactures printers which take those cartirdge. Your best bet would be a electronics factory clearance centre or a place that sell printers (but doesn t turn over inventory often) The 94 and 95 are sometimes, but not always compatible with the 96 and 97. Only some printers can take both.

Whats the difference between quot;photoquot; ink and regular ink? -

I m just curious what the difference is. And why is it that yellow doesn t come in quot;photo yellowquot;

On some printers, you replace the *black* cartridge with a photo cartridge. It extends your color range - you have the original three colors from the color cartridge (cyan, magenta, and yellow) and then three more from the photo cartridge. Make sure it s a cartridge from the same company that makes your printer. There s definate differences between the inks that the printers use, and you re taking a chance using someone else s ink - also, your printer s warranty won t be valid with other ink in there.

photo ink has a wider space of colors than the regular one and why there s no photo yellow .. heres the answer ... because the space of yellow color is limited unlike the blue and the red

Photo ink is designed to work with photo paper and therefore has different quot;absorbencyquot; properties.

How do I make double-sided copies of postcards? -

* This isn t your average postcard these are rare postcards from the 20 s that I need to replicate

You are in my league and I am a professional Artist. What you need to do is simple. 1- Create a template from a letter size and set it to LANDSCAPE. Mark the center of the page with your horizontal ruler guide; now, using the vertical guide, mark the center of that page as well. 2. Now, add crop mark in each corner, let s say, 1/2quot; from the top and sides. Save this as FRONT cover and another cover labeled INSIDE COVER.. 3. Now since your page is divided by the vertical center line, do the front cover ON THE RIGHT HALF of the page which is right of the center line. Don t put anything on the right side of the page (left of the center line) 4. Save your work. Now, open INSIDE COVER layout which has the same crop marks ad the cover. Create your art work on the left side of the center line. You cna also use the right side for additional text. 5. Save it to INSIDE COVER. 6. Print this side FIRST. set your printer to landscape. Because you are using the same crop marks, the FRONT AND INSIDE LAYOUT, IT WILL ALIGN PERFECTLY. 7. Once you print the inside, watch how the print comes out. If the print is facing you as it comes out, you need to place the page back in with the PRINT FACING YOU. 8. If the print is on the underside, you need to put the paper back in FACING DOWN. Now you have a perfect print LOL
