Which printer is the best quality for photos and documents? -

I had a Picture Mate printer that you put your memory card in and it prints out the picture but it won t print anymore and just keeps saying quot;Close the cartrige doorquot; when it is already closed. I would like a printer to hook up to my Acer laptop that will print good quality pictures and documents. Which should I get? What is the lowest amount I can pay for a good quality one?
