Does the HP C5180 printer use an abnormal amount of yellow ink compared to the other colors? -

My yellow is already out and the other colors are barely used.

If you look at the volume of ink on the sides of the cartridges when you buy them you will see that they all contain different amounts of ink. You will also find that the lowest volume cartridges are the yellow, light magenta and light cyan, with 1-2 fewer ml of ink than the cyan and magenta cartridges. The printer is not using more yellow ink, HP is just ripping you off by selling that particular cartridge in a lower volume than the rest.

It really depends on what color it needs to print, for example orange requires red and yellow, A lime green requires blue and yellow combination. The darkness or brightness of the color depends on which one gets used the more. The use of a color wheel could aid in answering what color would get used the most.

Why does my printer print extremely slow only when I print from the internet? -

-When I open a PDF document and print from my browser it takes over 1hr to print 30 pages. -When I save the PDF to my desktop and print it takes just a minute or so. I have plenty of memory available and recently defragmented. -This problem started just recently and I ve this HP Photosmart 1000 for years now.

Make sure the print settings are set to the same both ways you do it - you could be printing on the best quality which makes it alot slower. If you reduce the quality it should print faster. If this doesnt work there might just be something wrong with the software. Hope this helps!

You need to look at the priority of print jobs. If your print job has a low priority then the browser or any other program will give it spare time. Go to printers and right click on your printer. Select properties and then go to the advanced tab.

When printing from your PC the printer loads up the message before starting to print. So when printing from the Internet it takes time to download the information depending on the speed of your connection.

What kind of printer will work with my dell computer? -

My dell computer is about four years old it is XP my printer A10 A940 blew up is there a printer out there that is compatible with this? I heard the dell printers suck too much ink also I want something that you could buy the ink for in a local retail store. thanks

Almost all printers will work with your computer. You do not have to buy a dell printer. ( dell printers are made by other manufacturers anyway) as long as you have a spare usb port. If you want the best quality output then get a dedicated printer. ( not a combined scanner/printer) Multi-function devices are good for general printing though. The added benefit of a built in scanner may be useful to you. Brands like HP, Canon and Epson are mainstream and ink cartridges can be bought in most local stores.

How to print pictures off my computer? -

I downloaded pictures off of my digital camera onto my computer and now i am printing pictures off of a hp deskjet 3820 and my pictures are coming out with to much red in it. Can someone please tell me how to fix the coloring for my pictures. Using Kodak Premium photo paper.

This may happen when some of the colors on the color cartridge are low, or if the cartridge nozzles are dirty or the ink is dry. Try a quot;Clean Headsquot; from your Printer Utilities. Then try a Self test, see if all the colors print right.

Look in the manual on how to do a test print from the printer buttons and how to run head cleaning process - probably a blocked jet on the print cartridge or no ink for colors other than red - buy a new cartridge..

What can I do if I have lost my printer installation CD? -

I have a new laptop and need to install my printer onto it, but I have lost the CD - Is there something I can download so that I can still use the printer? It is a cannon, fairly new, bought about 1.5 years ago.

Yes, go to the Canon website, look for Support or Downloads and look for the drivers for your specific model.

In all cases you can download the drivers from the printer manufacturer. In your case http://www.canon.com It s also possible that if your laptop is new enough, there may be printer drivers already built in to the operating system... Just attach the printer, and when it detects new hardware, let it try to find the best driver for it. If it fails to find a suitable driver, then go looking at the printer manufacturer s web site.

Go to the Cannon web site you can down load printer drivers from there. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndex1Actamp;fcategoryid=103 Download center http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct

You can go onto their website and go to the drivers page and they have the drivers for download there. Just find your model, download, and install and it should work.

well we have a hp printer and when we plugged it into r friends laptop and tried to print something off it just did just plug the printer into the pc threw usb and try open a word document and select the right printer :)

Go to the manufacture web site and download the drivers there.

How can I use an universal ink to an Epson printer? -

I once tried refill an Epson cx7400 ink catrige with coller ink from an ink refill kit which says it is universal. But the printer doesn t work, it only says those coller ink I put in is imcompartiabl.

The color ink is not incompatible, the chip on the cartridge is. To refill Epson cartridges you must reset the chip on the cartridge. Chip resetter s are available from many places online and are fairly inexpensive. My suggestion is to simply use what are called quot;compatiblequot; or now since the lawsuit, quot;remanufacturedquot; Espon cartridges. These are ready-to-go right out of the box and you don t have to worry about resetting the chip or getting ink all over yourself when you try to put ink in it with the refill.

Hey, Armco Imaging, Thanks for that advice about the Epson printers. I ll have to try that. (Oh, but by the way, quot;chip resettersquot; there actually does NOT need that errant apostrophe there, because it s just a plural. Just for future reference....) Report Abuse

Does anyone know where I can get a battery for my HP 335? -

I have one of the HP Photosmart 335 printers. But I haven’t got the optional battery to make it portable. They don’t tell you that it does not come with the battery and you have to buy the battery as an optional extra. But the battery is very difficult to find and Expensive. I need one cheap cause the printer is pretty useless without it!

try this on ebay Item number: 300054680531

search Ebay with your model number. You can find the same battery at a lot lower price

hp.com has a good shopping store and you can get there.

How can I print 2 copies of a flyer on 1 sheet of paper? -

You know what I mean? How do I set it up so I can have 2 on one page if it s printed landscape style. I have Microsoft Works if that makes any difference...If you don t know what I mean, I m sorry, I don t really know how to explain it any better...Thanks in advance!

Simple thing to do. Set the page to Landscape and place a tab in the middle of the page. Paste a copy of your flyer image at the beginning of the page and 1 at the tab.

I know what you mean, have done several times only using ms-word, the easiest way would be is to have the flyer as a pic file (.bmp,.jpg,etc...) insert the pic into the doc and size it to half the page then copy and paste the 2nd one below it (you may need to rotate the pic either before or after you insert it) unless you set your page up as landscape in advance then paste next to it just be sure to use your print preview option before you print and waste paper if your flyer is plain text you should figure that one out, you type half a page copy and paste one on the bottom half and when you print choose landscape

How to fix canon ip1000 printer that says quot;print head is not installedquot;? -

Just now i have been encountering problems with our canon ip1000 printer. Even though the print head is installed with ink jets, it wont allow us to print and a window pops up that says quot; The appropriate print head is not installed.quot;. Any tips on how i can fix this? I need to print a lot of projects soon. :D Thanks in advance to those that can help. :D

I always try to reinstall the print head by taking it out and putting it back in. Or maybe contact whoever you got the printer from or call support. http://www.ehow.com/how_2239727_clean-ca… would be a great help. Also, you can always ask me to print for you anytime. :gt;

Sounds like your print head might have gotten jarred loose or maybe broken. Try removing it and then reinstalling it. If it still doesn t work, look for a new head.

What is the least complicated colour printer? -

I want to be able to just plug in my Dell laptop and print from it.Please do not say Lexmark(they gave Half their instructions in Greek)

For the best economical usage a Canon i250. Bought one about two years ago in Argos for just under £30. Gets a fair thrashing and hasn t let me down once. Very good on ink usage as well. Cartridges seem to last for months. Will accept cloned cartridges quite happily from one of the ink clubs.

hp printer is more good in comparison to the lexmark ,the service of the hp printer is also more good but you can take the canon printer it is also good .hp is the best one and it depends upon you which company printer would you prefer either hp,canon , brothers, lexmark and so many more and you can take suggestion from the printer vendor and compare with the other printers or search the printer features in the internet .it will helps yo to understand you for the printers

As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson and have had no down time since. Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. Most of their printers use one of two types. The three-color plus black use T069 (CX5000 CX6000 CX7000 CX7400 CX7450 CX8400 CX9400FAX CX9475Fax NX100 NX105 NX400 Workforce 30/40/500/600 and C120) and the 5-color plus black use T078 (R260 R280 R380 RX580 RX595 and RX680). This means you should be able to find a lot of people who use the same cartridges you do and possibly buy in quantity. When it s time to replace the printer, the next model will probably also use the same ones. Though I am quite happy with the results of the CX8400, if you really want the absolute best photo quality, go with one of the 5-color ones. Some of the models above include scanner and/or printing on DVDs. Right now Epson is having a blowout on the 5-color R280 for $60. It even prints on DVDs. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu… The biggest complaint about all inkjets is the high cost of ink cartridges. http://ccs-digital.com has cartridges for about $4.50 each. They also have a unique product - a two-piece cartridge where the ink is in a separate tank inside the cartridge. When the ink runs out, you replace just the ink tank and the original chip resets itself to full. By keeping the same chip, you save 1.50 per cartridge. Ink tanks are only $3 and hold 50% more ink than disposable cartridges.

canon are cheap and easy, epson are nearly as cheap but more complex, hp are good, you can get fairly cheap compatibles and each cartridge is good for three or four refills and its very straightforward.

lexmark is the worst there cartridges are crazy prices even the copies, get a canon they have cheap cartridges, all printers are easy to use, but i have had 3 canons and they have all been great.

Kodak is easy and will save you a ton of money on ink their ink cartridges are $9.98 color and print more from a cartridge than other brands

Which is == Canon

How do I wirelessly connect a printer? -

I want to connect my Windows XP computer upstairs to my other computer s printer downstairs. How do I do this?

Before you can start printing to a shared printer, you have to configure the PC to which it is attached and each of the PCs that are going to be using it for shared printing. To share the printer on a PC running Microsoft Windows XP: 1. Select Start gt; Control Panel gt; Printers and Faxes. 2. Right-click the printer and select Sharing. 3. Click Share This Printer. 4. Enter a name for the shared printer (the name that the other PCs see). You might choose a name that relates to the printer s location, or to its name, for example quot;FamilyPrinterquot; or quot;DownstairsPrinterquot; 5. Click OK. To set a computer running Windows XP to access a shared printer 1. Select Start gt; Control Panel gt; Printers and Faxes. 2. Click Add Printer. The Add Printer Wizard runs. 3. Click Next. 4. Click the option: A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer. Click Next. 5. Leave Browse for a Printer selected and click Next. On the list of shared printers, click the desired printer, and click Next. 5a. If a security warning appears, click Yes. 6. When prompted whether to use this printer as the default, click Yes or No and click Next. 7. Click Finish.

If you don t have one yet, you need to buy a router to hook up to your computer downstairs that has internet. Next you need to buy a wireless card for desktops. Put that into your upstairs PC and make sure it comes on. Now on your downstairs PC make sure printer sharing is enabled (not too difficult). Now just turn on your printer and computer downstairs and you should be able to print upstairs.

you need to setup a local network between the two computers and enable file and printer sharing. The network setup wizard found at all programsgt;accessoriesgt;communications will do that for you. This way you will also be able to print from PC upstairs something which is even at the pc downstairs on the printer downstairs. Hardware-wise you will need a wireless router downstairs and wireless card on the PC upstairs or a wired router and wireless cards for each PC.

How to connect my laptop with my printer without a cord? ? -

ok so i just bought a new laptop, a sony vaio if it matters, and i have an HP LaserJet3050 All-In-One printer connected to my desktop pc. how do i set things up so that i can print off of my laptop to my printer without needing to connect the cable directly into my laptop. im not the smartest with this stuff so ill need as close to step by step instructions as you can give me. please and thank you.

The simplest way would be through Bluetooth or Wirelessly through a network. The steps to connect would depend what support is integrated in your printer. If Bluetooth is available in both your computer and in the printer it is a simple direct connect. If you have a wireless network and a network card in the printer then just connect the printer to the network and map to the printer. If simply a USB or normal printer connection then either: Print Server or Share through another computer connected to the network. I Hope this Helps!!!

How do i reset ink cartridges myself? -

I have an Epson stylus c-82 printer, and i ve refilled the ink cartridges. How do i reset the cartridges myself without buying the so called box to reset it?

I cannot recommend using refilled cartridges. They sometimes cause printer problems, and then you don t know if it s the printer or the refilled cartidge causing the problem.

I recently dumped a C82. Don t know what you mean by the quot;boxquot; to reset it. Epson provided a User s Guide on the installation CD which tells you how to install ink cartridges. Epson will probably detect that it is not Epson ink and give you a hard time. If it does, try to reset it this way: gt;gt;gt;remove all cartridges and set them on a wet paper towel so they don t dry out gt;gt;gt;disconnect from computer or in back of printer gt;gt;gt;unplug AC Wait a minute now, reconnect to computer, AC, and reinstall cartridges. If it still doesn t work, contact Epson and hope your printer is still under warranty.

What is the difference between HP 45 78 ink and HP 45 78 D ink? -

I was looking on ebay for some ink and some people had it listed as 45 78 and others had it listed as 45 78d. I was wondering what the difference was. The listings for the 45 78d cost a lot more and I can not find anything that tells me the difference? Please Help.

the 78D is actually the old coding for a low volume cartirdge. The old version 9up until a few months ago used to be 6578d and the high volume was 6578a Recently HP has changed all of their high volume/low volume codings to regular and XL. To make a long story short an 78 is a 78d a 78XL is a 78A. the difference is that a 78 and 78d both have 19ml of ink in them. a 78a and 78XL have 39 ml of ink in them.

78 is sold seperatly 78D is the same thing sold at a slight discount because its packed with 45 and they need to denote that its NOT the following two items. (http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_… 78XL( http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppi… ) or 78+ ( http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppi… ) All 78 s should fit in your machine, the + and the XL just have differnt ink quality.

Why is my computer asking me to disconnect my printer? -

There is a icon I ve never seen before, telling me when to disconnect my printer safely. After clicking on the icon, in the small screen it does not give me a reason why I should disconnect. I ve checked everything, went to troubleshooting and my system seems to be in order.

Maybe the hardware was installed inproperly and it wants you remove and reinstall?

How many times can you refill an inkjet cartridge? -

I already filled mine 2x with Walmart.

It depends on the cartridge. If the cartridge has an integrated print head, you may get 3 refills or more. If the printhead is a separate mechanism, there is no theoretical limit.

You can refill the cartridge until you destroy the printer. Read http://www.ccs-digital.com/refills.asp for more details. Every day several people come to this site crying that they refilled their cartridge and their printer stopped working. Of course others will say they ve done it and their printer is still working. Sort of like I went through a red light and didnt have an accident so it isn t dangerous. The joke is you dont even save money. I get cartridges for my epsons for under $3 each at http://www.ccs-digital.com which hold almost double the ink of the OEM version. Is refilling really cheaper?

Whats the best all in one printer to buy? -

Hi, I am looking to buy an all in one printer (dont need a fax though), I am looking to find the best one to buy. I need one that is very good on ink as well. Any suggestions are appreciated. Many thanks.

Any of the KODAK all in ones are good. The ink cartridges are cheap to replace on this make. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa… http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa…

Printers are almost disposable. Getting them repaired is very pricey. I buy refurbished Epson printers from Epson cheap and most of the time with free shipping. Cartridges are more expensive than the printer. Epson warranties printers for 1 year the same as new ones. My suggestion is go with an Epson refurb. Buy yourself a CISS continuous ink system and save tons of money. Here s where I bought my CISS: http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/

If you ask three people you ll get three different answers. For many years I have used and recommended Epson for very simple reasons: the output, warranty and availability of inexpensive ink. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. Most of their printers use one of two types. The three-color plus black use T069 (CX series as in 5000,6000,7000,7400,7450,8400,9400FAX,94… NX series as in 100,105,200,400 Workforce series as in 30,40,500,600 and C120) and the 5-color plus black use T078 (R260 R280 R380 RX580 RX595 and RX680). This means finding cartridges is easy. I get cartridges for my Epsons from http://ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold 50% more ink than standard cartridges. Right now you can get the NX200 multifunction printer for half price, $40 instead of $80 and no rebate needed http://officemax.shoplocal.com/officemax…

I ve had Canon and Epson. Epson has been better than the Canon. Whatever you do make sure you get single ink cartridges so you can change them individually. I think most of them do that now anyway.

a good mix of quality and performance with ease of use and a fairly cheap price. i suggest you look at the HP 1510 range http://www.amazon.co.uk/1510-Colour-Prin… ? wish i had got one

HP are supposed to be very good Don t get a Lexmark they are S*** I know I ve had two, I would never buy another one

i use an epson DX8450 dura brite ultra and have to say it s been great. never had a problem inks not that expensive scanners very good and prints very good photos. just my experience.

http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/site/home… There are a wide variety. Pick which one is best for you! Best answer

Kodak are the cheapest to run, The ink cartridges are very cheap

How does a normal black ink cartrige really work? -

I mean is data (electrical currents) sent to the cartrige iteself when it needs to release ink.

on the back of the cartridge or print head you have little electronics. These correspond to the nozzles on the print head. These electronics are turned on and off by way of providing a current. When the electronic is on it heats the print head sublimating the ink and delivering it to the paper. When it is off it sits idle. It is the rapid on/off switching that allows the print to be formed on the page.

There is actually a fine particulate which comprises the pigmentation of the ink, that is actually the part that is boding to th paper. the gas itself carries the particle to the page during the sublimation process. Report Abuse

How to reset ink cartridge levels for Lexmark P915 and Z611? -

Refilling color and black cartridges. Do I need to reset machine? unplug etc. or block pin connections? which ones?

Pull the cart out and reinstall it as if it was new.
