How can I print good pictures on my printer? -

My picture come out wayyyyyy different than what shows on my computer monitor, I know the print amp; my computer a not going to match up exactly, but the colors on my print always come out way too dark or too red or too yellow. Is there a way to adjust the monitor so it mirrors the print.

Maybe you need to change your printer cartridge

there is no way to adjust your print saturation. Some printers are just not very good photo printers. You can try running a print head cleaning and diagnostic page to ensure that all your nozzles are firing properly, however this will generally do little to effect the shading, rather tell you if your cartridge is working properly.

Get some good editing software that allows you to regulate the colors that print. Not your monitor, but what goes to your printer.

Try downloading new drivers for your printer, change the ink cartridges, and try adjusting the settings for the printer driver. You can adjust settings by going to Start gt; Printers and Faxes gt; right clicking quot;Propertiesquot; on your printer gt; and then adjusting. This is of course how to do it on a Windows XP computer.

What is the quality of refurbished all-in-one printers? -

Somewhere I read the quality of printers have improved since 2000. However, when I look online for refurbished printers there is no product manufactor date.

All of the factory refurb printers you see on the manufacturers sites will be from the past 2-3 years. If you want to narrow down the date a little more, run the model number through a website such as www.cnet.com. They will most likely have a dated editors review of the product. That will narrow it down to within 6 mo of manufacture.

The print quality is the same as the new one. Do not concern yourself with manufactured date as long as you have the model and it does not affect the print quality.

I need a wirless photo printer that will work with vista, print good photos and is fairly cheap.? -

When printing a photo it is darker than the one on the monitor? -

Hey I have a Canon MP600 All one in printer. When I print images from the computer they turn out to be darker than the one shown on the monitor. How can I fix this? Is there any settings I should configure?

Could simply be your monitor is too bright. You can use tools in many video card drivers to set the monitor levels better. Also you can buy a quot;Spiderquot; that reads the screen brightness and then you place it on a test print, and it creates quot;profilesquot; for the printers to get the screen/paper matching much better. Look for adverts for it in photo magazines.

You need to calibrate your monitor. The manual that came with your monitor should show you how to do this. In the meantime, if you have Adobe photoshop or some other imaging software, adjust your images so that they look lighter than you really want them so that they will look normal when you print them out.

You need to calibrate you rmonitor with a calorimeter (see link below). You can do this with the poorman s method (manually), or get a calorimeter to do it more accurately. It s worth the investment, because then you re not wasting ink and paper printing over or underexposed pictures.

How do i make a 2 sided copy? -

I have a HP deskjet F4135 printer and I need to make a 2 sided copy of a worksheet for school. How do I go about doing that?

your printer wont print on both side of the paper unless it is equipped with a duplexer. you ll have to experiment with printing page 1 first than take the page and reinsert it into the printer and print page 2

You have to enable duplex printing in your printer settings.

if your copier is equipped to copy both sides , you should be able to switch it over just before you get ready to print.......... I suggest go back to the owners manual and look over it closely.......... Good lUck!!!

Does my printer have to be wired to a computer to be able to print with any computer that uses the router? -

I have a router that is not hooked up to any other computer via wire. Every computer running off it is via wireless. I don t exactly know how to use the printer through any computer not hooked directly to it, but I know its possible because a friend of mine did it back at my old house.

there could be two ways depending on the printer - many routers also have a USB port so you can plug a printer in - but if not connect it to your computer - goto control panel - printers - right click properties and sharing and share it - now from one of your other computers - start menu run - enter \\name of computer sharing printer now you will see the printer - double click to install it - you ll have to ensure the computer sharing the printer is on whenever you wish to print

set up wireless same way to share a printer, only snag the pc that has the printer connected has to be on when printing from another PC

Why wont my printer work anymore after I changed my router? -

I changed my D-Link router to Linksys because it was defective. Now I can t print anymore with my wireless printer even though I am connected to the internet and everything is correctly plugged in. I uninstalled my printer software and tried re-installing it, but it s not working because now it says my printer cannot be detected over the network. Any ideas?

Check your settings on your new router. It probably blocking your printer from connecting to it.

What is a post script printer, and how do you identify if a printer is Post Script? -

What are the other things that a printer can be besides post script? Pre Script? are there other options ?

Adobe Postscript is a page description language. This is basically the format of commands sent to your printer to control font selection, page layout, and give details of diagrams or images on the page. The other major standard page description language is the PCL series - for lasers, usually either PCL5 or PCL6. Compared to PCL Postscript is more expressive and also has a guarantee that the same Postscript code will print identically on any Postscript printer. Sure, there may be differences in the printer s resolution, or whether it is in black and white or colour, but the fundamental layout of the page is guaranteed to be identical from any Postscript printer. This is different to PCL where different printers will produce slightly different pages as the result of the same code - if the printers are different resolutions the page may be scaled incorrectly. This standardisation and predictability in Postscript makes it the preferred choice in desktop publishing since the results will be the same on your personal laser printer at home as they will be on that hundred thousand pound professional printer at the print shop. The downside is that Postscript is expensive - it is an Adobe product and a royalty needs to be paid for any printer that uses it. As such is is frequently lacking on low-end printers, although it may be available as a relatively pricey upgrade module.

How do I find out of this HP LASERJET 4200 printer has JETDIRECT amp; automatic duplexing? -

I need to find out if this type of HP LASERJET 4200 has ethernet networking jetdirect and automatic duplexing? Is anyone familiar with this laserjet, if not how can one find out for sure? Thanks in advance.

Look on the back of the printer, is it flat straight down from top to bottom? Then you don t have a duplexer installed. However, if you have an attachment sticking out the back about 4quot; or so and about 4quot; thick (here is a picture of one at this link): http://www.provantage.com/scripts/go.dll… then you do have a duplexer. All you need to do then is set it up in your driver and software application to use it. As for the JetDirect, look at the back of the printer on the left side. You will see two plates (one above the other) near the parallel interface port (if you see two plates, you don t have a JetDirect network card) or there will be a JetDirect card mounted in one of those slots secured with two thumbscrews that will say JetDirect on it with the RJ-45 network jack in the middle (it will look like this web link shows or very similar: http://www.entercomputers.com/product.as… Hope that helps. Best of luck.

Go to HP.com and look up the product description.

How can I make my HP LaserJet P2015 compatible with Vista? -

I have tried to download the right driver from HP but the installation would not be completed, as pc returns the message, quot;Installation cannot be completed because of error.quot;

That laserjet is compatible with Vista Just un-plug the USB cable from the HP and power it on. Begin a fresh install and re-connect the USB cable ONLY when the program asks you. Let if finish the install and REBOOT the computer Windows will find it. That s It You are ready to use it

first check to make sure you do not have any laserjet items in your puter anywhere c:drive /addamp;remove programs check everything if you have take it out ,then redounload but save , and install from the save .but you must take everything out first or it will still come up with error

Use the drivers come with the HP installation CD or downlaod the driver agian you may have file corrupt while downloading it .. this is one drawback of Windows Vista as it makes problems in compatablity with many drivers .. so I prefer Windows XP .. I hope this helps you :-)

Download it again but this time instead of clicking quot;Runquot; click quot;savequot;. After it is saved, open it and install it that way. Give it a try.

What Kind of Printer do I need to print magazines and books? -

I am starting a self publishing company, and I wanted to know what kind of printers would I use for a fully colored magazine, as well as for small book projects?

Laser printers are probably best for jobs like this. However, if you re doing A LOT of glossy paged magazines, you may want to consider going to a printer who will do it for you on a regular basis. They can work out good rates with you and will be much more cost-effective.

What printer is best for printing things like chapters from books? -

I am a student and sometimes I need to print multiple chapters. I use an HP5510xi, the 5510xi seems to go thru black ink pretty fast even when set on grayscale. The majority of the documents I print are in black ink only. So I need a printer that goes a long way on the black ink cartridges.

If you are just printing black it would be worth your while to invest in a Laser printer, a samsung ML-2010 is a good solid monochrome laser printer. You should be able to pick one up for just over $100, the cartridges cost about $60 to replace however you should get about 3000 pages out of one.

you must be doing a hell of a lot of work then.......... are you sure you re a student? ha ha...... you could maybe try getting those silly refill kits(bit messy sometimes) the colour ones are sometimes a bit off but black is black so you should be ok. i ve got a cannon ip2000 and my black lasts a long time so if i used it on draft printing it would last forever probably.

I purchased an HP 2600N color laser printer and find it might be a replacement printer for almost anything except crisp photos, but that s only because I haven t tried it on photos yet. The price per page is less than inkjet and it s much faster as well. The printer was on sale for $300, which is great for a color laser, but might be spendy for someone on a budget.

hi, sounds goofy, but when I need to print a lot of pages at once, I go to office depot and have them print it from a thumb drive. Saves me ink and printer wear and tear. Costs pennies per page, but for me it is worth it.

I send all my clients to laser printers. It just isn t economical to print on a jet printer. My personal preference for monochrome is always HP, they really wrote the book on laser printers. Canon makes some pretty good products too.

How do you enable a windows cpu for wireless network printer sharing? -

topic, i have windows xp and have an hp all in one printer,

This is not exaclty and easy quick answer, but to make it short. From the properties of the wireless connnection, which is found in Network Connections, you must make sure that the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is installed. Then go to the Printers and Faxes area, and right click on the printer you want to share and choose the Sharing... option. Then make sure the Share this printer radio button is enabled. That s about it, once that s done, you can browse your network, find the computer that printer is shared from and install it on other computers on the network.

How to fix paper sticking together when printing? -

Whenever I print something I always end up having to take like 10 min to take out a paper jam and redo my whole printing job. Does anyone have a solution to avoiding printer paper to stick together, because it s driving me insane and wasting my time.

I used to run huge print jobs when I worked at GM. Usually printing thousands of pages on multiple printers. The 2 things I can tell you to reduce the number of jams you get is: (1) Keep your printer clean! Use compressed air to blow the dust out. Insert the nozzle of the can into the tray where the printed page comes out, and spray inward, blowing the dust out the top. If you aim into the machine, your just blowing the dust deeper into the printer. Don t do this to laser printers! You can damage the thermal bar. (2) Fan your paper. Before loading the paper into the tray, holding the paper in one hand, take your thumb across the stack, fanning out the pages. Insert the paper so the fanned end of the stack is facing towards the printer. I hope this helps you out.

Did you fan the paper before you put it in ? or the rubber pick up rollers need cleaning, E mail me I will explain to you how this can be repaired, hope this helped and good luck.

Fan the paper but taking it out and flipping the sheets.. Could be a build up of static. Or The rollers on the printer are gone bad. You can take some slicone spray (clear one) you find this at a auto supply store. Just spray a little on a lint free rag. and rub the roller. Suppose to use roller spray but that s how to find in a local store. That needs to be ordered online. You would need to replace the rollers as that is just a temp soluation.

use some clear isopropyl alcohol from the drug store and a soft cotton cloth to clean your paper rollers. Also it could be a paper problem. Paper absorbs moisture from the air which causes sticking together. take about 20 sheets of paper, lay it flat in the micro wave and cook on high for about 20 seconds. remove and then lay it flat on the counter top to cool. Do not use it for longer as you can start a fire. after paper cools, you can quot;flipquot; the edges like shuffling a card deck. Then try it again. If that don t fix it, you need to get the printer repaired by a service professional, or get a new printer which ever is less expensive.

make sure the paper guides sit firm against the paper sides in the feeder tray. if the guide is a liitle to wide you get trouble

How do I return a broken product back to Lexmark? -

I had a broken printer that was still under warranty that I bought at Walmart. It s a Lexmark printer. I called Lexmark and they did replace it with another one, which was Fed Ex d to me. However, it isn t the same model I had, but it is close. I want to know how do I get the broken one back to them? I didn t see any return label for free shipping back to them. How do they expect for me to send it back, or do I have to pay for shipping myself?. I tried calling them, but the customer service is closed today and can t find the answer on their website. Do they even want this broken thing back?

I would guess no. If they didn t have you return the printer and gave you a new one, you don t need to return it. So throw it away, use it as a doorstop, or fling it out of a trebuchet. Oh and relax with some lemonade on the patio and enjoy the sun.

Go to their web site, click on the quot;contact usquot; link and ask them!!! Do your best to do the right thing.

yes, they do want it back. keep that in mind, on the return box, print out a paper, on that paper, mention that the printer was broken, when it came. in other thing, you mention, they didn t gave u the return label, i think you have to paid for the shipping. that s what some company does.

you tell them that it was broke when u got it

What if I move my printer in the office? -

For a start, I am having major difficulties installing my printer on the office server. It connects to the network using a USB cable into an adapter which has a LAN cable output. Once I have got this sorted (which I am hoping to do in the next millennium), will this printer be detectable, regardless of which LAN port it uses in the office?

Yes once you get the whole adapter set up thing figured out, it should work through any ethernet(LAN) port on your network, assuming that port isn t protected under a dedicated firewall (which it probably won t be - most networks just have one large blanket firewall)

well i moved my printer and now the other computer will not print to it (it got knocked off the server) oops!!

Why isnt my lexmark printer working with my hp pavilion windows xp computor? -

I keep installing the printer onto my computer and it wont let anything print from it. Helpp!

Restart your computer even thou it says it is installed

Use your help and support icon in your start menu. It will give you options on how to fix glitches like this, such as getting finding a way to get a printer to work correctly.

How can I print a picture on my computer with the demensions of 12inches height and 16 inches in width? -

I wasn t sure if there was a setting on my printer or a website out there that allows you to print things in big size. I was hoping my printer could print it out in sections so I could piece it together.

You are quite correct in that the printer is the final determintor of the picture size. I would not recommend printing out in sections, it would be very difficult to put them together, and you might end up with a very unprofessional looking poster. You can go to KinKo s and ask if they have the capability to output pics of that size - I suspect they may. Or maybe Office Depot. If they do, then all you have to do is supply a file ( on USB drive or SD card, etc ) of the picture you want. Its probably worth the cost to have a good looking, professional picture.

Put it on CD and take it to a photo shop. Like Kinkos.

It depends on your printer that is has that facility, to print by the required measurments.

How to Print both side without interruption? -

Guys!! I am using cannon lbp 3000 laser printer and i want to know is there any option by which i can print on both sides without flipping paper manually?? like if i want to copy 100 pages at a time i can do it with 50 pages. Thanks in advance.

The LBP3000 is not a duplex printer so you have to flip manually.

lol thats easy peasy lemon squeazy click print properties and then print layout or just keep searching everywhere until you find the two sided printing icon or reverse pages icon every printer can do it it will print all even pages and all you need to do is revers it once end of story i am sure thats the answer to your question becuase its better then nothing if you print 1000 itll print 500 odd pages tells you to put the printed paper back into the printer job done no energy required

Why does my printer still say low ink after installing a new cartridge? -

I have a Lexmark 8350 all in one and I just installed a new ink cartridge but it still says low ink. The cartridge I installed is a refilled one does that make a difference? It prints just fine, it just says low ink when it s not.

I fill my own cartridges with the refill kits. It requires the bottom cap to be taken off. So on my Lexmark and my old Dell, they both yelled at me that my ink was low after I filled it. I spent an hour trying to get the message to go off, never did. The printers worked fine. I knew the ink was fine, even if the printer didn t agree with me.

Refilled cartridges do sometimes cause that error, but it should work fine. Reinstall the cartridge and see if you have the option to tell it you installed a new cartridge. It should print fine for you. If it doesn t work, take it back and get a replacement.

it might not be installed right I would try taking to ink out and putting it back in

Once an original Lexmark cartridge is used once, it will start measuring how much ink has gone out of it. Although this is inaccurate (there are no electronic pressure gauges or floaters inside the tank which means it s only measuring how many pages you ve printed with each color), that s Lexmark s protection so you d go back to them and buy a new cartridge. Take note that once your printer says it s out of ink, there s no more refilling your old cartridge. For Epson printers, resetters are available for different types of cartridges, unfortunately, the same is not true with Lexmark (or maybe I just haven t found one yet).

What should I do with empty ink cartridges? -

It is by the makers of Epson printers.

You can take them to stores such as Office Depot or Office Max and they can recycle for you. Sometimes, they even give you some sort of discount for bringing them in or a free ream of paper. All part of promoting recycling. Some organizations collect the cartridges and sell the part for money and then donate the money to certain causes. Do a search in your local area. Or donate to a church, which then take them to other businesses who give them free paper and office supplies.

Wal-marts and various other stores have plastic bags that are self sealing and free postage. Just put your empty cartridges in the bag and drop them in the mail. Don t cost a thing.

Turn them in at Office Max for money when you buy new cartridges

Take them to office max

It s easy to refill your own cartridges and you save TONS of money that way. If you don t do that, recycle them, they re bad for the environment.

you can either sell it or have it refilled :P

refill it

Turn them in to a Office supply store so that you can get some money, but more importantly the cartridges will be recycled and that will be best for the Earth

send to RecycleCartridge.org , you ll save our landfills

How Do I connect 3 computers to 1 printer? -

We have 1 desktop and 2 laptops in our home. We have a wireless linksys router. How can we connect the laptops to the printer without hooking up the wire? The printer is a HP C3140 all-in-one. Is there anyway it can be set up like a network printer? Thanks -hoot-

Attach the printer to the PC, then share it to all users. As long as the 2 laptops are connected through the same router as the PC, and on the same workgroup, then just add the printer to both laptops in the control panel. Have it show you network printers and just choose the one connected to the PC.

set up the printer as a network printer on number one print share has to be enabled then set up the printer software on each of the laptops here is the link for the hp printer software http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw… Here is the lazy man s way to do it http://www.networkmagic.com/download/

Buy a print server. Make sure the one you buy can work on your printer.
