Is there a way of getting my printer to go wireless, or will I need to buy a specific new printer? -

I have tons of wires connected to my pc and would like to clear them, but would prefer not to have to buy a new printer. Are there any gadgets that would make things wireless? Its a HP 1510 printer, and I have a computer with vista. I am in the UK.

i don t think you need a new printer. you just need to get a wireless printer router.. here are some at nexttag.. you can go to a computer store and ask themm. ..or buy them online.. http://www.nextag.com/wireless-router-pr… i personally use NETGEAR.. http://www.netgear.com/Products/Routersa…

you might be able to plug in a thing called a dongle into a usb or pictbridge

there are devices you can buy to do that. but at the end of the day a new wireless printer would be cheaper

if the printer has a wi-fi card slot in the back, use that. that then connects up to you router and can access it form any computer in the house.

How to align my new cartridges on mac? -

How to align my new cartridges on mac? Can t seem to find a way to do so? Thanks in advance.

The printer must have the software that is Mac compatible. Check the printer manufacturer s web site for the Mac version of this utility. If there isn t one then it cannot be done using the Mac.

Does the HP Color Laserjet 3600n come with starter cartridges or are they full capacity? -

Thinking about buying the HP Color Laserjet 3600n, there s a crazy cheap price on it at a local store, cheaper than a set of toner! So, I need to know if I m going to get starter cartridges (and be replacing the toner early) or if I ll get full capacity toner with it.

Starter cartridges, they are only good for about 500 pages.

there are a couple different levels of the same printer open up the cover and read the label on the cartridge one says trial - other says starter i believe the lowest end printer would not be good value you are never going to get full cartridges on a new printer - stop dreaming 1/3 to 1/2 full at best the n stands for network printer it was the upscale with more full cartridges if you can take them out and compare by weight you will get never get full cartridges on a new printer unless its a refurb and it was easiest for them

The HP Color Laser Jet 3600 does come with two start cartridges and if not I am sorry, but you have been rip off. Contact below if you would like to know how to buy them at competitive prices (whole sale). NEED HELP! They are starter, standard yield cartridges. I can get you GREAT pricing on toner for your printer. Here s an example: Q6470a Black: $115.99 (OEM-name brand) plus for the compatible which are just as good --$79.99 ea! How do i print a file from my laptop to my wireless printer? -

My wireless printer is connected to my desktop computer. But I want to be able print from my laptop anywhere in my house. Without me having to keep going to my desktop CPU to print

you can stay home and make money off these 2 sites. At you will accumulate a little funds..its better than zero http://tryvindale.com/VcZXmwVe http://www.surveyteam.com/?refID=1492461

It could be easy using the pc you have attached your printer to and let it become a printserver. Well.. printserver is an expensive word for it, but you can SHARE your printer. If you look at printers in System Settings a list will show up of the printers attached to your system [Windows only]. Select SETTINGS from either the quick-menu [right-click if you re lefthanded] or File [? not sure]. It is SETTINGS, i m sure. Then there should be a tabloid indicating: SHARING. If you click on the tabloid, then things will become clear =gt; share your printer in the network. Check your computer-name or IP-address of it. On the laptop: Open My Computer. In the address bar you should put in [for example] \\pc1 After a while it will show up the shared folders and printers [if not, check the Firewall if it isn t blocked!]. The printer should now be visible. Use the quick-menu [right-click] and select Add printer [? something like that.... i m translating in my head so i m not sure if it s the English equivalent]. That s it! The printer should be installed after a minute or so as a network-printer. Good luck! ;-)

Your printer should have come with driver software; if it didn t or if you lost it, you can download current drivers for your printer from the manufacturer s website. Make sure you go to the manufacturer s website, though - there are a lot of third party quot;download servicequot; sites that will charge you, or will not give you the latest software. With the printer on and your laptop on, install the printer software on the laptop. There should be a section in the installation script where the laptop searches the network and finds the device - you should be up and running from there. One other thing though - if your wireless printer is cabled to your desktop machine, it s possible that you didn t set the printer up on your network. That can be done from the desktop machine with the printer software as well.

If it is a wireless printer, then couldn t you just install the drivers on the laptop for the printer? If not, then you would have to have the desktop and the laptop connected to the same network and then go to the control panel and setup the network to share the printer.

i would go for a network print server, they have wired and wireless.

Is there a way to override the date chip in an HP printer so you can use quot;expiredquot; print cartridges? -

We purchased too many print cartridges and since some of them are past their posted date, our printer refuses to accept them. Is there a way I can still use them without having to throw out hundreds of dollars in ink?

Go in your printer options gt; and choose force print. In some it might be something a little different... but similar. Put a check in it. Or click it... And away ya go!

Wow, Im kinda surprised they even quot;expirequot; I would contact HP and explain the situation. As a customer, you purchased excessive ink, and while they are new-- the printer refuses to use them. MAYBE they will exchange them or give you a refund. Sending a polite email is always worth a try.

It doesn t seem possible to fix an expired cartridge without physically replacing the chip but you can avoid having the expiration date burned into a new factory virgin cartridge thus making it immune to expiration. There are places that sell the chips but they seem to all (both, Brazil and the Netherlands) be out of the US and the total cost with shipping is more than the price of a new cartridge. I figured the following method out from things I read and experimentation. I make no guarantee and until all my old cartridges expire, I will not know for sure if I am totally correct but that won t be until the end of 2005 (I don t think you want to wait until then). It is working for me so far. Use at your own risk. You must start with a virgin cartridge (chip), factory fresh without having ever been used to print. Normally, the first time you print is when the date is burned in. Do not install the cartridge until you do the following. There is an *.ini file (hpSomethingOrOther.ini) stored in the system directory (WINNT in NT and 2000) that has a name probably associated with the driver version. Search for hp*.ini and edit the ones with the latest dates. If you configure the printer driver first, see below, the file date should read today. There are two files, one will list the one you need to change, change the other one, I think it is the smaller one. In it there is a parameter something like pencheck. It is set to 0100. I think this is a boolean because I tried other values without effect. Set it to 0000 in the file and save the file and REBOOT. You can check the value in the driver configuration dialog box (found through the Help for the HP tool box, open the last entry, I think, and click on configure). If the grayed out box for ink check or cartridge check or something like that is unchecked, you are in business. Cancel this dialog. Do NOT click on default or the expiration check will be reinstated and when you print with your new cartridge you will get an expiration date burned into it. I wouldn t trust making any changes to this dialog box without rechecking that the parameter stays unchecked. After making sure this value is unchecked, install your new virgin cartridge(s) and the expiration date(s) will read quot;UNKNOWNquot;. Over time, once you have replaced all your cartridges that have expiration dates burned into them (as they expire and they will) with ones that now read UNKNOWN, and as long as you do not reinstall a driver or configure the printer driver (if you do, fix the INI file again before printing), you should not have any cartridge expire, ever again. NOTE, if you load a new driver, make sure to reset the value in the INI file before you print anything or you will burn expiration dates into the chips and you will have to buy new factory virgin cartridges all over again. Microsoft drivers for XP don t seem to check the expiration dates or send a date to the printer so you can use expired cartridges with XP (XP Home, anyway) If you install an HP driver in XP, I hope the above method still applies. I have not tried this in 95, 98, or ME but it should probably work.

Is there a way to make blacklight photos with my printer? -

I have a large salt water fish tank, and I would like to put a black-light glow poster as the background using a few of the designer fractals I have found that can be used as desktop wallpaper. But I would love it to be glow black light since I would like to use a black-light at night in the tank. Can this be done? Have you tried it? Is there actual pigment someplace that would work in my computer printer?

i dont think thats really posible

blacklight posters are printed with a chemical additive to the inks/paint the reacts to true blacklight (ultraviolet rays). Flourescent inks used on posters will appear brighter with a purple light bulb that screws into any light socket-but that is NOT true ultraviolet-that s just a purple colored light bulb. Only Flourescent light tubes emit enough ultraviolet spectrum to cause the reaction. A true blacklight will hardly light up an area-but the ultraviolet rays will reach all the way to the end of a large room. Anything with reactive chemicals will appear to glow. Toothpaste, some laundry detergents, additives to white shirts-all will glow because they react to the ultraviolet rays. As far as I know-there is nothing you can get for a household printer that is reactive to ultraviolet.

How do I print on both sides of the paper at Fedex Kinkos? -

Putting together a document and I want to use both sides of the paper. I will be printing at Kinko s and I wanted to know how to go about completing such a feat. As you can tell this is my first time.

1. Call them and find out if they have a printer with Duplexing. If so, you can set it up to automatically print page 1 on one side and page 2 on the other. 2. If not then you will need to manually do the duplexing. In the Word processing program you are using you would do that using the option of quot;print odd pagesquot; and then flipping the paper (check with the worker on which way to do this since every printer is different) and choosing the option quot;print even pagesquot;.

you should ask the people working there because it depends on the printers either its already made to print double-sided or you have to turn the paper around to print the second side

Is it possible to make an inkjet all in one printer into a wireless printer? -

I have a Lexmark 1150 all in one printer. I d like to know if it is all possible to make this printer into a wireless printer that I can use from any point in my house. Is it possible folks?

Yes, and... If you get an ethernet server for your printer, it will be available on your network. (look for a USB printer server). But you would not MOVE the printer, so why wireless? You see, making that wireless also, will only make it less reliable. It would sort-a suck.

http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WPS54GU2-W…

totally possible. if you already have a wireless network it s very easy. you need to buy a print server. it s just a little doohickey with a usb port that hooks into your router via ethernet. you can buy them at compusa or fry s for under $50. set up is fairly easy.

First throw away your Lexmark. I imagine you are paying gobs for ink, and according to PC Magazine s latest Reader s Choice review for printers, Lexmark ranked last in all areas, including reliability. I would recommend the new HP C6180. It has built in wireless networking. The C6180 will be out in stores later this month. Another option is the HP C5180 which is already in stores. It has wired networking, so for wireless beneifts, all you need to do is plug it into the ethernet port of a wireless router. Besides, HP (along with Canon) was awarded the Reader s Choice in reliability. Ink for the C5180 is very inexpensive. It takes a 6 cartridge system, but all 6 cartridges can be purchased in a value pack in almost all retailers for $36.

yes mine is hooked to wireless too. if you have a routor on the computer printer and faxes right click and share and then run the wizard. YAY!! PRINT WIRELESS!

you will need to set up a wireless network, then set up the printer on any networked computer, then right click it and push shareing and enable it , then set it up on each comp as a network printer and browse for it, install and you are done

Actualy there are some quot;wireless print serverquot; that you can buy and connect to your printer. IN this case you don t need to have a computer to connect the printer and share it. This print server has it s own ip address, and any wireless pc and connect to it, and print.

What is the best brand of printer for successfully refilling ink cartridges? -

What type of printer has the loosest/unrestricted system for injecting empty ink cartridges with new ink. I want to be able to buy a special custom glimmery gold ink from a 3rd party company and inject it into my empty ink cartridges. What company/printer model is best for doing this?

canon non-printhead cartridges, hands down. the 3s and 6s to be precise. that sounds pretty cool whatever it is you re doing.

How do I make my printer print darker? -

I am trying to print Google maps. Running XP, using Firefox amp; IE, printing with HP Laserjet 4250. The maps are printing very very light and I do not know how to make them darker. The printer does not say it needs a new cartridge. What can I do to make it darker?

When you are ready to print, go in the printer preferences and select BEST mode if you really want or , their is a setting wher you can click on 600 dpi. That will definitely give you a crisp output.

Pages 81-82 of the user manual, available online at http://www.brown.edu/Departments/Psychol… explain how to achieve maximum print resolution. If you are not satisfied with the result, you will have to import a screen grab into a graphics program and manipulate it there. Adobe graphics software can import a pdf file, so another option, if you have that software, is to print to a pdf file and retrieve it from there. Other graphics programs might do the same. Good luck.

the light printing is low ink need to change color cartridge

make sure it is not on fast draft

How many pages can a lexmark X7350 all in one print? -

I need to print about 400 pages of an ebook.

lexmark X7350 Prints up to 19 ppm color and up to 25 ppm black. Note: ppm = page per minute all you need is for your printer to be working properly, plenty of paper, ink cartridges, a lot of patience and you can print to your hearts delight. does that answer your question or did you have anything else in mind?

Whats the best way to make my printer wireless? -

I have a small office that I use to print a lot of documents. I m not sure what s the best way to make my printer wireless, as of right now I have too many long cords to connect everything.

In my experience, the best way is to get a wireless adapter that attaches to the printer, then you just need wireless abilities on your PCs and they can print from anywhere in range. I personally use a Bluetooth wireless adapter because it also lets me print straight from my PDA/Smartphone! Makes it nice when you have to write a quick report on the go and need to print it fast. The one I use is from http://techawave.jitbid.com/techawave/in… It s pretty easy to setup too.

It depends on whether or not your computer/printer is even capable of being wireless. Look into that first. It is very convenient if it is wireless, you can connect to hot spots ( starbucks, airport etc) to print.

You could connect the printer to a computer on the wireless network and then share it. Another option is just purchasing a wireless print server.

What do you recommend for a photo printer? Cheapest cost for ink amp; paper? -

I want to get a photo printer specifically to print photos from my Canon camera. I like the small $100 canon photo printers but I m not sure how expensive the ink and paper is, and can you adjust the size? Someone recommended HP printers to me -- how is the cost for ink and paper?

Get a color laser printer. It s more expensive, but you ll be able to print tons of photos without replacing the ink, or toner in this case. They have higher print resolutions then inkjet printers, and they re versatile, so you can print out your documents as well.

Tiger direct has teh best selection and teh best prices by far, they are a discount supplier, and they always run promos - check out their site to see what kind of deals they have, but you usually cant beat their prices - http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/clic…

HP printers are good enough. Its the ink that you need to worry about. But nowadays, the fad is using remanufactured ink cartridges that are much cheaper than original branded ones but performs just the same. And it is also good for the environment. I know one site that offers a lot of remanufactured ink and toner cartridges. You may one to check it out at

How do i install a web camera without the instalation disk? -

I downloaded a driver off the web, but I still can t install the camera, nor the driver now.

If I knew what type of camera it was, I could tell you what web address to go to, but unfortunately, I don t. Look in the directions, there is bound to be a website in it, or on the original box. Just go to that website and look at downloads/drivers, and bada-bing. I had this exact same problem except with printer software, so I can understand how hard it is to find it. So, ya, just look on the box or in the directions for a manufactures web address, and go to it on the internet. Then look under downloads/drivers according to the model of camera, and depending on the website it will either be drivers or downloads.

Snoop around, its guaranteed to be in the internet if its a brand web camera.

Try downloading the driver frm internet, sometimes windows is ok with built in driver, try that.

in most cases you cannot check the manuf site also there are different versions of the same cameras The drivers for one may not work on another Check the version on the camera ( it will listed as model,,,, ver number) Unintall the driver and reboot before installing the new one. In most cases people now are only needing to install the driver - the programs used are messengers - msn messenger, skype, yahoo ,eyeball chat etc

How long after the expiration date are HP ink cartridges usable for? -

I have a few HP ink cartridges that have expired in December 2005, August 2007, and October 2007. Are these still usuable? Please let me know! Thank you!

That depends upon the style of ink cartridge. For older HP s like a 26, 33, 29, or 20 (6614) the will actually quot;explodequot; not long after their expiration date (by explode i mean the bags over inflate forcing a large quantity of ink out) this destroys the electronic strip and makes a terrible mess. For block style HP cartridges (anything small and square) it won t make a difference, the expiration date is just a gauge of when HP guarantees the cartridge for resale. As for the the large ink tank style HP, #10, #11, #14 and #88 s the expiration date is a stop date. They will not work beyond this date.

If they are still taped, they shouldnt have dried out. If they have been used before, they are probably clogged......tryem out

It is not like food in that it will harm you if you use them. Insert them into your printer and see if they work. Honestly I m sure HP wants you to toss them and go spend some $$ on new ones, but if they put ink to paper then they may be good for another 10 years.

How can I add the correct printer to my computer? -

I recently got Leopard for my Mac, and I have a printer but when I plugged it into the Mac it recognizes it as a different printer. I have a Lexmark Z715 and it recognizes it as a Lexmark Z2700 series. When I try to change it, it doesn t have my printer as an option. How do I add my printer?!

First, try printing, if it doesn t work, go to Lexmark s website and download their drivers.
