Can I make my printer wireless to my laptop when i dont have wireless internet? -
Your printer has to be wireless.
Your printer has to be wireless.
Printers in the PC world are usually attached to a computer. When the computer is part of a network, it can share its printers with other computers on the network. Those computers can use the printer just as if it were connected directly to them. There s one big drawback to this configuration: The computer the printer is attached to has to be running. If it s down, so is the printer. Enter the Ethernet printer, also sometimes known as a print server. This is a printer that connects directly to the network and needs no host computer running it. Hope that helps.
You will destroy the printer. Why not get a refill kit and refill the black container? At least then you would have black ink, although the container won t last as long as a new one.
Try putting the color one in the cradle where the black one goes. You will see it won t fit. If it happens to fit then try her out.
Refill the black one,Easy enough to do.
No. Even if the cartridges are the same size, which is true in for some models, the information sent to the printer by the computer would not correctly interpretthe text color information so you could easily get a purple or bluish tint to our text, if anything comes out at all. In fact, you could also damage or misalign the the printer head. There is a reason why the black cartidge goes in one spot and the color one in the other. The color cartridge requires different pressure from the print head and placing a color cartridge in the place that is inteded for the black cartride would cause either excessive ink being used or not enough, in either case, you would not get black.
No, because one of them is already set to be a black ink and the other a color ink.
let me know when you find out
No, it s black+colour or black+photo cartridge.
get a refilling kit and refill the black ink cartridge with color ink. Might work but its just an idea. If ur gonna do it test it first. Or save the couple of bucks and just have color and black.
They are not interchangeable. Black has one nozzle and color has three. ?
If u mean ink cartridges, try it and see if it works. It all depends on the printer type and model. try it and see.
Yes. I do it all the time and the colours I get are vibrant.
i dont really know about that but what i do know is if you put both color you wont be able to print anything that will use black ink and you printer will get confused about two color inks. so just go and buy a black cartilage. dont take any chances with ruining your printer
I don t think so. If you had 2 color ink jets, where eould the black be? Let s say you re printing a picture that you took at night. There may be orange (street lights), some green (Stop-go lights), but no black or white (white being if there s a statue in the picture) because there s no Bamp;W ink jet.
It wouldn t fit! Just buy one of those cheap ink refilling kits and refill your old BW one. They work great as long as you do it before it dries out too much.
If your printing text you can just put 1 color in there and make the color of the text navy blue and it will work.
Well first i have the same printer. If your talking about the hpdeskjet 940c. Then i have it. No it s only possible to use One color and one black for it to work. That s what mine does.
Use template provided below.
Hi Printers , whether laser or inkjet, can print on transparencies as long as you buy the correct one for the specific printer. Otherwise, if you put any other type of transparencies, the ink won; t dry on it and if it does dry, it will smear as soon as you touch it.
The only thing I can think of to do this on a quot;standardquot; inkjet printer would to be using quot;iron on transfer paperquot;.
Any device connected to a USB port creates a VIRTUAL port. That is the reason why USB ports supports multiple devices and also supports HOT Plug feature. Check whether your printer is connected properly to the USB port, if not then uninstall the USB Printing Support from the device manager. Click on START gt; RUN then type SYSDM.CPL, click on the HARDWARE tab, then click on DEVICE MANAGER. Scroll down and click on the + sign next to UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLER Check whether you find USB PRINTING SUPPORT, if it is there, right click on it and click on UNINSTALL. Remove the USB cable, restart the computer and plug in the Printer USB cable back. It will automatically install the drivers and you would be able to print from the computer again. Cheers, n Happy Printing!!!
Open your printer properties. In quot;Portsquot; tab, you can find the port which has been assigned.
If the computer it s connected to is part of the network and the computer in question will be on when people try to print, then you could share the printer via Windows File and Printer Sharing. If not, for that printer you would probably need a print server cause I don t think it s got built-in networking capabilities. (Print servers used to be actual computers, but these days the technology seems to have advanced quite a bit and they are a lot smaller then they used to be.) Network Print Servers that support USB 2.0, includes both wired and wireless: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis… (Not sure if the printer is USB 2.0 or 1.1, but having USB 2.0 support would be better either way since newer printers will likely be USB 2.0.)
Unless it has a network card you can t. If it is a standard printer you can buy a print server and connect that to your network, but always check if it is compatible first. If your printer is multi-function, it will NOT work on a print server.
Set up the NIC, obviously! If your printer doesn t already have one, then simply use a print server.
well Yes if both your laptop and printer use USB, or have other corresponding ports. If your printer is very old you may have to buy an adapter.
Office Depot is where I had some of mine done before I bought my own copier amp; binding machine.
change it under settings/preferences, to black and white, when you click print
go no control on settings and printer or put in a black and white inc cartridge
You have to go to file print, and there should be a blackamp;white color setting thing on that window that pops up. Hope it helps q:{ ]
When you go to print, go to the print options and click on the option to prink in black and white only.
In Word go to File...Print. In that box you ll see a tab or button for Properties. Make sure the right printer is chosen. In there you will see a tab for Paper/Quality. There you can choose color or grayscale. Good luck!
here s something you might want to try. go FILE --gt; PRINT. a print dialogue box should come up. Click on PROPERTIES button, and then the COLOR tab. There should be a checkbox that says Print in greyscale. check that box. When you do, the preview thing that s beside it should turn grey. make sure you have hi quality checked as well. Hope this will help.
go to file, print, properties, color, print in greyscale
When you click print, a screen will open that will allow you to select which printer you would like to print to as well as some other options such as how many copies you would like to have, etc. At the top beside where the printer name is, there is a button labeled quot;Properties....quot;. If you click that button, there should be a option on the screen that opens to print in quot;Monochromequot; which is the same as Black amp; White. Hope that helps. I don t specifically have an HP printer, however this is how most printers are so it should lead you in the right direction.

Littledrummerboy is right. I doubt you ll find anyone willing to trade a Mac for anything less then another Mac. Just sell it and cough up the dough for a new MacBook-they are awesome.
I don t know anyone who has a mac that would want to switch back to Windows. Just sell the computer on ebay and buy a macbook on craigslist or ebay or even from apple
bring it to a walgreens that refills it, they have an ink drop on their window or get a refilling kit
Lexmark is a pain because the printer is cheap, so they figure to make their money on cartridges. You have to open the top or drill through it. Once it s customized you can refill as many times as you like, but you won t be able to until you get that @amp;@$*%#$ top off. Good luck, and follow those directions linked to above.
here is the instruction manual http://www.stratitec.com/support/manuals…
You would need a kit. Thiss kit includes the ink and almost like a needle shot. FIrst takes some ink in there and get teh cartiage, there should be a little tiny whole stink the needle in and and insert it like a shot.
your printer can not print double-sided you should print it one side then the other side.
You need a USB to parallel convertor cable http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?ca…
old = parallel port http://www.umbc.edu/oit/sans/helpdesk/ar… new = USB http://www.umbc.edu/oit/sans/helpdesk/ar… Need to get a USB cord for the printer
the new computers won t have the parallel port connections that retro fit older equippment like the old printer. If it has USB then you are better off with that. But if it dosen t then there is no hope for that. My advice, get a new printer. But if you have vista, you are in for a bigger shock because HP dosen t have the drivers that completley work with Vista, they only guaranteed to work up to XP.They still work on vista though. Just plug the device in before the CD, not the other way around as the instructions say. Later on , they might make newer drivers that are totally Vista Compatible. Just a word of warning.
If your new computer doesn t have a printer cable interface on the back you can buy a printer to usb cable and run the printer from the usb port.
it should have have the female plugin your describing. if not yes a new cord but i don t think you can just get a cord, maybe an adapter, if that even works. you could end up with a conflict and it not working at all. so after hooking it up and your comp should crash with the blue screen of death saying recovered from a serious error. your not going to be able to use the printer.
just disconnect the printer from the other pc and connected to the mac and install the cd for the printer and there
hey, wtf. first, is the printer connected to the windows computer or the mac computer, all you said is pc, that could mean anything actually. and your doing cross-platform sharing? windows and mac dont get along in the real world, and if you can get it to work the place i would be looking, if i were you, is google forums. make sure you have the question put in correctly cause it still makes no sense. add more info then we ll answer your question if it makes sense. hope that helps
Download the driver from the web. I am not sure if hp has mac drivers but you could always go to www.hp.com and check.
It probably means that there isn t a driver available for your mac. Try to go to the printer manufacturer s website to see if they have an divers you can download.
