Whats a good, fairly cheap, wireless printer thats decent at printing pictures? -

I need a printer for my HP Pavilion laptop. The only things I need are: -Wireless with built in wifi -Reasonably prices, fairly cheap -Decent at printing pictures -Compatible with Vista Thanks.

I think it would be best to ask your question in the HP forums at http://www.hp-forums.com. You can ask pros and also interact with other HP users to answer and ask related questions. I go there for problems with my machine all the time and get the answer pretty quickly. You can also find and request drivers. Hope this helps. Good luck!

If you re looking for a reliable all-in-one inkjet with good quality output, a solid warranty and inexpensive ink, look at the Epson workforce or NX series. Right now you can get a refurbished workforce 500 from epson for $45 with free shipping. It s a scanner/copier/printer/fax with wifi and document feeder. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it. You can get reusable cartridges for Epsons from http://www.ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold about double the ink of standard cartridges. I ve been using them for years.

How do I print envelopes with an HP 3100 printer? -

Does anyone have any idea on how to print envelopes with the HP Photosmart C3100 all-in-one series? There is a spot in the feeder-tray for envelopes, but there is no mention in the instruction pamphlet on how to do it. Thanks, Joe Conrad

Hey Joe, There are no step-by-step instructions in the user manual. Just do the following. 1. Open MS Word 2. In the menu, go to Tools --gt; Letters and Mailings 3. Click on Envelopes and Labels 4. Type the To and From addresses, then click on the Options button. 5. Select the envelop size, then click on the Printing Options tab. 6. Select the way you want to insert the envelop into the printer. 7. Press OK, then Print. Good luck.

What is the difference between a inkjet, laser and thermal printer ? -

please help its for an assignment

Inkjet uses ink jets to spray ink on paper. Laser uses a laser on a roller to pick up toner and then quot;meltquot; it into the paper. Thermal uses wax that s heated and pressed into the paper (something like that). However, if it s for an assignment, you should google it.

Pretty simple really Inkjet printers use ink cartridges, wet liquid ink, that is shot onto the page and dries. Its a cheaper printer usually(to buy), and you will get your best photo quality prints off of a printer like this, but the ink is generally expensive. These are the types of printer most people have in their homes. Laser printers use a laser, which writes an image onto a drum assembly inside the printer. This drum picks up dry particles of toner (think copy machines) which is then transfered onto the paper. This then rolls through a fuser assembly which melts the toner onto the paper. Typically these printers are black only, but color lasers are becoming more prevalent and affordable by the day. Most times you ll see these printers in businesses or home/small businesses. The price per page is cheaper than an inkjet. Thermal printers use heat and a special paper. The paper is heat sensitive, and will change in color when heat is applied. These are most usually used in really old fax machines (the ones that take a roll of paper) or in recipt printers. Jack in the Box for example uses thermal paper in my area for all of their reciepts. You can take thermal paper, put a heat source under it, and watch the paper turn black in front of your eye. Business like these for reciepts since you don t have to mess with ribbons, toner, or ink, just put a roll of thermal paper into the unit and start printing. Hope this info helps :)

How do you print a very big document on Photoshop? -

I have a document that is 24X36. I created it on Photoshop, and when I want to print it, it won t print anything outside the 8X11 peice of paper. Is there any way to make it print the whole picture at actual size so that I may piece it together after printing?

Here s how to get it all in one piece. Print 4 copies of this question and answer with everything the way it is on your screen. Make a CD of the picture file or e-mail it to yourself. Drive down to the donut shop for a dozen assorted box. This should ease any concerns about printer ink. Drive around the block and you ll find 3 engineering or architect offices. Go to the best one (smallest one). Park where you won t get a ticket. Say, quot;Could you help me out?quot; And kind of tilt the box as you hand them the CD or e-mail address. When they ask what it is, just show them the printout of this question and answer. They ll be so happy you re not looking for a job!

You can crop each part of the picture into 1/9 each and then place them all onto a 8x10 and then tape it all together or you can make it bigger y upping the ratio

nevermind i read that wrong filegt;print with preview you could change the position several times or you it might be easier to just cut it up into about 6 to 9 different 8x10 documents

What kind of printer is used to print inexpensive color printouts for a wide variety of documents? -

Generally a color laser printer would be best for high output color or black printing since it doesn t use ink, which can get pretty expensive to replace everytime they run out. You would still have to replace the toner cartridge for a laser printer, but they are cheap and last much longer than ink based cartridges. Laser printers are also fast and precise and are much more affordable these days

any kind that prints color prints. Hey go to local Wal-Mart and pick on up for 30 or 40 bucks.

What is the cost per page color laser printer? -

What is the cost per page color laser printer? I am thinking that if a standard laser printer is normally estimated to be approximately .05 per page does anyone know a ballpark figure for a color laser?

It depends. If you are looking at getting an HP, be careful. Supplies are expensive and do not last long. Consequently your cost per page is high. You may be better off getting a business class printer. I work for a company that sells these, and cost per page is much lower. For Black and White, the cost is around $.015 per page (8.5 x 11), and for Color, it is around $.075. Shop around...printers that you buy from a store generally end up being more expensive because of supplies.

It depends on what brand of printer, and how you define a page (the page size and the coverage % of colour on the page) 10 - 15 cents a page for pages with a smallish amount of colour is pretty typical. A page with full colour coverage may be 30 - 75 cents worth of toner. Keep in mind that you also have to replace other components of laser printers besides the toner -- drums, developers, belts, finishing units, etc. - this cost can add up.

Where can you find a cheap printer that works really good? -

One that has color!

Avoid Lexmark They had to replace 3 for me

I have done well buying printers at Wal-Mart. I actually had a lexmark all-in-one there that was really cheap and it lasted 3-4 years. The best printer I had recently was a HP Photosmart from office depot http://www.officedepot.com/ that was only $60. They often have $20-30 coupons and specials if you buy online. I bought that one online and got free shipping. In my experience if you just want a really cheap printer, Wal-Mart is good, Want a cheap color photo printer, then checkout places like Office depot and Staples when they have sales and online coupons. The biggest cost will actually be the ink. There are a lot of cheap printers but the ink can be expensive. I buy my refills online from a site like Cheap Ink Store http://cheapinkstore.com/ or 4inkjets. Or you can go to WalGreens for the refill services. Personally I prefer buying cheap cartridges rather than refill kits. I have never used laser printers, but that is another option. Color ones are not cheap to buy but they might endup costing less in the long run. A lot of it really depends on how much you print.

How do I add a printer to a wirless network? -

I currently have a lexmark x8350 printer (it has a usb port). It doesn t have wireless capabilities, but some people told me that it was possible to hook it up to a wireless network. How would I go about doing that? If I get a wireless g router, how would I go about setting it up (so that I can print wirelessly from my laptop)?

You can only set it up wirelessly on a wireless router that has print server capability; something like this. http://reviews.cnet.com/bridges/netgear-… Standard wireless routers won t do. They don t have USB ports to interface with a printer.

It should have a USB port so that printer can connect to it. Standard routers including wireless ones ONLY have ethernet ports. Report Abuse

How do I set the margins for printing from a webpage on my printer? or is this a must thing to do for me? -

Please help: I have had this problem from day 1, where I want to print a page from a website and that it cuts off a few words from the quot;FAR RIGHTquot; in every sentence. What are my options with this issue? Good or bad points by using one or more of these options? I don t want to have to set it where the page is set as Horizontal wise! I own a Cannon Multipass F30 Windows XP (SP2) Home Edition Internet Explorer 6 You will get my vote if you take the time on answering this with knowledge!

You go to File gt;gt; Page Setup. There, on the lower right hand corner is the margins section. Hope I helped!

Are there printers that use just one b/w ink cartridge and one color cartridge at the same time? -

I want to buy a non-expensive inkjet printer and I keep hearing of printers with 4 cartridges, etc. Where I used to work, the printer only had two cartridges, one b/w and one color. I forgot the name of that printer. Wouldn t this kind of printer be a better option (less ink to buy)? Or am I wrong? Please suggest any that you like. Thanks.

First, a printer with 3 colors on one cartridge would be more expensive. If you ran out of one color, you d have to replace all three. Separate colors is a much better option which is why almost all new printers have this feature. Now if you re looking for a printer which is 1) inexpensive 2) reliable 3) backed by a good warranty and 4) uses inexpensive ink, look at the Epson NX200 scanner/copier/printer currently available at Officemax for $40, down from $80 - no rebate needed. I just picked one up for my dad and another for my sister. http://officemax.shoplocal.com/officemax… I have been recommending and using Epson for many years for the 4 reasons I mentioned. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I get cartridges for my Epsons from http://ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold 50% more ink than standard cartridges.

Diamond don t forget that a single color cartridge is 3 color cartridges in one- you just usually have less total volume of each color, and since it s rare that you will use each color equally, you ll be buying a new tri-color cartridge when you run out of any one color, with not much choice but to discard or recycle the remainder which is ink you ve paid for but now cannot use. Give this some consideration in your choice, and look into any nearby cartridge refilling stores or other ways to make use easiest for you.

well i have a canon i250 that has 1 black amp; 1 color cartridge, but i think its out of date. my new printer is a canon ip300 and it has only 1 color cartridge. you better go ask you local computer peipherals store. as for the ink expenditure..it all depends on your usage pattern

Buy your printer according to the price of ink refills. I found HP to be the least expensive in my area.

yes

What other printers is the Brother MFC-440CN printer compatible? -

I m trying to add a printer on my laptop and it does not show this model as an option. I was told that if I didn t see my particular model I should pick the one that it is compatible with... I hope I was clear enough.

Actually, if you have the disk and manual follow the instructions from the beginning. Sometimes you are not to have a device plugged in while initially running the disk. The disk should give you very easy instructions to follow. Just be sure that before you plug in the printer, load the printer CD to let it tell you when to plug in the printer. Good Luck. Whats the difference between ink and toner? -

please explain in easy to understand terms, i m not computer literate. thanks!

The real basic difference is Ink is liquid and Toner is powder. The difference in printing is also different. Ink is sprayed onto the page and dries in a few seconds, toner is electrically attracted to the page then a laser or LED light literally heats the toner onto the page to quot;fixquot; it.

Here s the info for what ink isgt;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ink And here is info on what Toner isgt;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toner You can compare the both, and what there differences are.

What is the best printer for printing high quality images? -

That also uses relatively cheap ink, Mac compatible?

some hp one!

Canon

hp is the best!! I have the hp photosmart C4250 series and it prints really good!! Way better than the printers at the drug stores!

Define quot;high qualityquot;. The best images are produced by hi-end ($50,000) laser printers. The ink costs more than most home printers. Good quality? Epson, HP. Cheap ink? Lexmark. (Not good quality, though.) Cheap ink won t produce quality images. (I ve done ink comparison runs - the cheap inks look cheap - washed out, not exactly the right color, they fade sooner than good inks ...)

Define quot;high quality imagesquot;. If you mean photos, Epson has a series with quot;photoquot; in the name that are top of the line. HP would be my second choice. Whatever you buy, make sure it has (can take) 6 color ink (CMYKcm) and you will save a lot of money if each color is it s own cartridge (as opposed to say CMY being one cartridge and Kcm being the other cartridge). You don t want to have to buy a whole new cartridge just because you ran out of Cyan (C) when you still have plenty of Magenta (M) and Yellow (Y) left. If you are just talking about garden variety printing and want good clear pictures, but don t need to print photos on photopaper, HP and Xerox both make really good quality color laser printers (in the long run, color laser printers are way cheaper than inkjets, but are not as suitable for photos). Actually I would lean more towards Xerox.

I would reccomend a simple inkjet printer from a repultable company such as HP, EPSON etc. Would check that it is Mac compatable before buying!

i hear Epsons are really good

hp every time i had a hp for 5 yeras now and it not done a foot wrong i suggest not lexmark because i had 1 for 2 weeks then i was printing on my spare computer cause this 1 broke down it caught fire which was rather quite scary

You basically got three types of printers...and the one that you would look for is a laser printer.Gives you high quality printout, fast, less sound, running cost low, cartridges work long. however Initial purcase would be high n cartridges would be expensive. On google search for laser printers .Any HP photosmart version is good. And Hp is quite dependable!!;)

I have a HP photosmart C3140 it does really good on pics

Mine is a HP and I think is perfect... Although, I have heard that Lexmark is the best wright now (?!?!)

What would be a good printer for my needs? -

We have a laptop computer, and need a new printer. It wont be used much,Just a few pages a month. We are not looking to spend a lot for it.(about $100.00). And we don t want a printer that the re-fills cost as much as the new printer dose. Thanks for your help.

You want a printer with high quality output, a good warranty, and inexpensive ink. Right now Epson is having a blowout on the 5-color R280 for $60. It even prints on DVDs. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu… You can get cartridges for $3 which hold 50% more ink than Epson at http://ccs-digital.com As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson and have had no down time since. Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. Most of their printers use one of two types. The three-color plus black use T069 (CX5000 CX6000 CX7000 CX7400 CX7450 CX8400 CX9400FAX CX9475Fax NX100 NX105 NX400 Workforce 30/40/500/600 and C120) and the 5-color plus black use T078 (R260 R280 R380 RX580 RX595 and RX680). This means you should be able to find a lot of people who use the same cartridges you do. When it s time to replace the printer, the next model will probably also use the same ones.

How can you install a printer without the cd that came with it? -

I have an HP PSC 1401 all-in-one printer, scanner and copier that is still in perfect condition, I just got it last year. I just got a new computer and I can not find the CD Installer disc thing that came with my printer so I can t use it because it s not installed. How do I install it or where do I find whatever it is that I need?

Download the driver from HP. The link below will get you started. Click your way into the printer categories until you get a window asking for the model number. Then enter the model number and look for stuff like quot;support amp; driversquot; and quot;downloads.quot; Sorry I can t be more specific, it s been a while since I had to do this. Good luck!

Google it! Unlike Linux there are no generic printer drivers here.

You can go to the HP site and download the necessary drivers there. Here s the link... enjoy...

You can go to HP s website and download the appropriate drivers that you need for free. I believe you can also download the sofware for free too. Hope this helped!

I was in a similar situation with a hp v40xi and I went to the hp web site and down loaded the drivers. Here s a link. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteH…

Have you tried going to HP Support Site yet? This is there site http://www.hp.com/country/us/en/support.… your HP PSC 1401 is listed, you can get the required driver downloads . good luck. daveo5624

What printers can be used with edible ink for edible images? -

I want to invest in a printer for making edible images, but I m not sure what to use.

I worked at a grocery store deli that made the kind of images you are talking about for cakes. They just used a cheap cannon color ink jet printer with the special ink and paper that is needed. Didnt look hard at all and fairly simple to do.
