Why does the magenta not work in my new cartridge? -

I had this cartridge refilled about a month ago and it worked fine. I don t print with color much so it has barely been used since. Now, everything works except the magenta. I have tried cleaning the nozzels and get nothing. How can I get it to work?

Magenta ink is the densest (next to black) and therefore clogs the fastest. Your cartridge may have been refilled with a sub par ink, in that case you may not be able to free the clog. There is a fix to the issue if you have an HP, Lexmark or Dell printer you can soak the print head in blue Windex for about 10 minutes and then run a number of print head cleanings. For any other brand of printer do not attempt this.

The magenta is either empty, unless you can see it, or the unauthorized refilled ink clogged the nozzle.

the ink may have dried, or blocked the nozzle. run a through cleaning and test pages to see if magenta prints on the test page. you have to be careful using refilled inks, they are not as good as the originals.

What does print spooler service mean and how do I activate it? -

First my printer would say, out of paper when I had paper in it. I pushed it in all the way and even cleaned the rollers in the back of the printer. It is an HP printer only 2 yrs. old. I also unpluged both plugs from the rear to try to reset it. But it still will not print and it is saying the print spooler service is not running now. What does THAT mean? I have never gotten that message before. PLEASE HELP ME, SOMEONE.

Go in the START menu and click on RUN enter quot;msconfigquot; and press enter Now go in the SERVICES, and put a check mark near Print spooler service. Reboot and it will open the spooler service. or just go in the control panel and select Administrative Tools Click on Component Services, click on SERVICES LOCAL Go down to PRINT SPOOLER, and set it to AUTOMATICgt; That s it. Reboot and everything will work. No need to unplug, re-install drivers or what not. :)

heres a link for an automatic fix for this: http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else Report Abuse

Spooler is a place on the hard drive where the quot;print jobquot; (your document) is put so the program can continue other functions. The spooler will then send the document to the printer you selected, through the driver you installed. Find the services (use HELP) and restart it, or just restart the PC. Out of paper when you have plenty? Again, try the driver or PC reload.

Can I have 2 desktop computers directly connected to the same printer? -

My office mate and I would like to share one of the printers in our office, and we are looking for the easiest way to do so. Ideally, we would like to have both of our computers directly connected to the printer, as we do not have IT assistance, and are trying not to have to set up a network. Is this possible? if so, how would we go about doing it?

It is possible. You can purchase a printer switch. Connect the printer and both computers to the switch. If you computer is connected to A port on the switch, you will need to switch it to A everytime you want to print. Ultimately, B will be connected to your office mate s computer. So, switch to B when he wants to print.

I seriously doubt that you will both be able to physically connect to the printer. Regardless if the printer has two connections or not. Most printers I have dealt with will only recognize a single interface as being active. In your situation I would suggest setting the printer up on one of the machines then turn on quot;File and Print Sharingquot; I am assuming this is a windows machine. If you are running Linux or MAC then I know that is also possible, I just am not sure of the procedure. The draw back to having all printing done from one machine is that machine will need to remain powered up.

A T switch is probably the simplest to do. You just connect existing cables from computere to printer to the switch, and then get a cable from the switch to the printer. If A is your computer, and B is your mates, simply toggle the switch between A and B when one of you needs the printer. I think you can get switches that will toggel for you as well, but they d be more expensive.

I am pretty sure that this will work in your WorkPlace. How to Set Up Wireless Printing at Home With the advent of plug-and-play wireless networks, no longer does a printer have to be tethered directly to your computer. Whether you’re sharing a printer with multiple computers or you want to be able to print from any room where you’re using a laptop, wireless printing is an easy things to set up. *Click on the Link below to view the entire article. http://www.ehow.com/how_4452276_set-up-w… Thank you, Ivan [Lucid Geek] Please visit... http://www.lucidgeek.com Join: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lucid…

Yes, there are two ways to do that. Check the back of the printer, is it has two connectors--a USB and a Parallel. If yes, then you can buy an additional cable for both your and your mate s computer. Another way to do that, is to make it sharable through network.

Hello there! Yes it is possible and simple. You will be needing a quot;data switch boxquot; Check that one here http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31… Its cheap and easy to use. Try checking the type of ports that your printer have before buying one. I hope this one helped! Good Luck!

I have only seen hubs that you plug into a router. If the printer has two ports like a LTP old parallel and a USB port I could see feasibly two people being able to connect into and using it but I have not tried it out personally.

You need a network unless you just want a long USB cable and plug it in whenever you want to use it.

How do I get my printer to print the fill effects correctly? -

I m trying to print a Microsoft Word document, and I have the fill effects set for the entire page: it s orange on top, white in the middle, and orange on bottom or the quot;print preview, quot; but when I actually print it, there are orange and white stripes across the page: 20 to be exact. What settings do I use to make it print the way it looks on the print preview?

Make sure you have the most current print drivers from the printer manufacturer s web site. Also, if your printer settings are on economy or draft, it will try to conserve ink. Try a higher quality setting.

How do I get my printer to print a document horizontally so when I fold it in half, it looks like a book.? -

I have this project I m doing for school where i have to make a dictionary of words out from a book. I would like to have the printer print it horizontally so it looks like a real dictionary. Is it even possible to do that? If so can someone tell me how to do it step by step?

Okay, you were given half the answer. First, you want to print in landscape. Second, you want to create two columns so that each takes up about half the page. Each column will represent a page when folded. You want to print page 4 and then page 1 on one side, pages 2 and 3 on the other. When you fold it, page 1 is the cover, then 2 and 3, then 4 is the back.

Change the document settings so it will print in Landscape, not Portrait. 1. open yr Word document 2. press Ctrl and hold this down while pressing P 3. a Print dialogue box will open 4. At the top right of this box (near the printer name) click on Properties 5. Look for Orientation = Portrait / Landscape and select landscape 6. Click OK to change the page orientation. 7. Click OK to print the document.

What Do you need to know to buy the right ink for a printer? -

Ok, So i don t know anything about computers.

Wherever you buy ink on line or at a store the questions will be: (1) What brand of printer do you have (say HP or Canon or Brother etc) (2) What model is it (for example HP2000 or Canon Pixma 3500 etc) (3) What color do you want (black, magenta, photo cyan etc) That is the only way you will get what you need. However, theink does NOT have to be from the printer company such as HP or Canon. It can be a generic ink which means it is made for your printer by someother company than the manufacturer. Generic inks are usuall half price from the HP or Canon brands and are just about as good. At least I see NO difference and have used dozens of generic. The cheapest in in stores like Walgreen at about $10 but on line you can get the same cartridge for about $6.00 Hope thishelps. Goodluck

You need to know the brand of the printer and the type of cartridge. Type of cartridge you find in the manual or on the cartridge. But have a look in the internet for printshops etc. They offer cartridges for much lower prices than the originals and sometimes they even hold more ink. And whatever the manual tells you. The warranty becomes not invalid by using other ink than the original.

The brand amp; model of printer. Go to WalMart or an office supplies store. You can also take in the empty cartridges.

Is there any software available online for my printer? -

I recently like recovered my computer. So its like new again. I have an HP printer. Any hardware you buy comes with software. Speakers, microphone, webcam. Well I lost my printer s start-up disk and now I cant use my printer. Any ideas on what I could do?

Go to http://hp.com/ and search for the drivers for your printer model. If your printer is not too old, you would find the drivers. You can download and install.

SInce you didn t provide a model number for the printer, I can only point you in the right direction. Start here: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/supp…

Have you tried googling your printer s model name and number?

Go to http://www.hp.com and download the drivers and software

How do i get better quality photos out of my printer? -

I have a brand new lexmark print/scanner/copier. when i print photos(on photo paper) the color is bad and has lines in it. How do get a better photo?

To print top quality photos out of your printer you first of all have to print with the best setting. You should also get a quot;Photo Cartrigequot;. So you print with 2 colour cartriges, exept the photo cartridge has a lighter shade of cyan (blue) and magenta (red), and instead of yellow, it has the colour black. Much, MUCH better quality photos. Also, glossy picture paper helps.

Run a few print head cleanings until there are no breaks and gaps in the diagnostic page. lexmarks are not known for their photo printing ability so you will not get a photo-lab quality print.

have you tried using different paper

How do I change printer outputs from binary to ascii? -

I have a Macbook and an HP C3100 (printer and scanner in one), 3180 to be precise. Whenever I try to print, I get jarbled letters at the top of page. I read that I need to change the output from binary code to ascii. However, on the internet, it gives those directions for Photoshop and other programs. I am merely trying to print from NeoOffice however and I can t find advice on how to do that. So, on NeoOffice, how do I change that output from binary to ascii and is that definitely what I need to do? I get the same result with color and black-and-white by the way. Thanks so much.

That sounds like a printer driver problem. Make sure you have the latest version.

uninstall the driver, and install it again
