What does print spooler service mean and how do I activate it? -

First my printer would say, out of paper when I had paper in it. I pushed it in all the way and even cleaned the rollers in the back of the printer. It is an HP printer only 2 yrs. old. I also unpluged both plugs from the rear to try to reset it. But it still will not print and it is saying the print spooler service is not running now. What does THAT mean? I have never gotten that message before. PLEASE HELP ME, SOMEONE.

Go in the START menu and click on RUN enter quot;msconfigquot; and press enter Now go in the SERVICES, and put a check mark near Print spooler service. Reboot and it will open the spooler service. or just go in the control panel and select Administrative Tools Click on Component Services, click on SERVICES LOCAL Go down to PRINT SPOOLER, and set it to AUTOMATICgt; That s it. Reboot and everything will work. No need to unplug, re-install drivers or what not. :)

heres a link for an automatic fix for this: http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else Report Abuse

Spooler is a place on the hard drive where the quot;print jobquot; (your document) is put so the program can continue other functions. The spooler will then send the document to the printer you selected, through the driver you installed. Find the services (use HELP) and restart it, or just restart the PC. Out of paper when you have plenty? Again, try the driver or PC reload.
