How do I print out a font list of fonts that are already on my computer? -

I have a PC. I want to know what are the steps in printing out a list of the fonts that I have stored in my computer. Other than going through them and typing them all out. Thank you very much in advance.

If you have a lot of paper and ink, go to control panel--gt;fonts select all, rt click print

Open a DOS window. Type: cd /windows/fonts dir gt; FONTLIST.txt Exit DOS, look in c:/windows/fonts for a file called FONTLIST.txt which you can print out.

Suggest you try to re-install the printer. One comment: I run a similar printer on my machines. The printer is installed on the desktop PC and I have a link to it from my laptop. When I was using XP on the laptop there was only a link on the machine. With Vista you have to install the printer on it as well. I would hope reinstalling would do the trick - taking care to follow the instructions for using Vista as you go. If it doesn t get back to Canon. They are helpful

Ive had a HP deskjet for quite a while. I cant fault it. However if you want it to be cost effective, Try and look for a printer with individual tanks for each color, that means you replace just that color as it runs out and not the whole cartridge. Print quality shouldn t really be an issue now, but read some reviews of any printer you settle on. without knowing exactly what you use it for its difficult to make a recommendation.

My printer ink gets spread when I print on glossy papers? -

I have an hp printer and I refill the cartridges at home, my black ink gets spread when i print on glossy papers like labels.It even prints lighter compared to normal papers.

When you go to print click properties in the dialog box and set the paper for glossy.

Your paper is probably not designed for inkjet printers. Glossy paper tends to not be as porous as regular paper so the ink cannot get into the paper and spreads like that. You d need to get some glossy paper designed for inkjet printers (like HP photo paper).

You will need a wireless lan adapter for your laptop for this. It can either be in the form of a PCMCIA card or USB adapter.

Is there a workaround to get a dos program to print in windows to a windows printer? -

I have an old creaky dos app that we still use in business. We run windows xp. Today our printer (brother 1440) dropped dead. We can order a cheap drum. In the meantime we have several printers that can run on parallel port to the system. Cant get the DOS app to print as the printer seems to be more windows based than the old one. Is there any possible workaround to get the DOS app to print in windows to this quot;windowsquot; printer. Appreciate any ideas.

If the printer has a parallel port dos text print should work. If you re printing something more complicated than text it s probably not going to happen without dos drivers for the printer. If you could save or print to a file, you could open that file in Windows and print it.

Fair warning: digital lines and faxes don t get along well. Plug your phone line into the port 1 for the fax line in the back of the printer. If you are having difficulty sending/receiving faxes, go into the setup menu. You want setup-gt;advanced fax setup. Turn ECM off and fax speed to medium or low.

In order to setup a designated Home FAX telephone line, you will need to contact COMCAST or your telephone provider and pay for what is referred to as quot;DISTINCTIVE RINGquot; where your telephone company assigns you a designated line lt;= completely different telephone number that is linked to your main telephone line that is strictly for incoming amp; outcoming facsimiles. The monthly costs is fairly reasonable like less than $5 per month in additon to your normal telephone bill, and FYI without the DISTINCTIVE RING FEATURE, your facsmile will not function as you expected. Incorrect cartridge error message could mean a clogged printhead. Are you certain you did not accidentally touch the gold areas (printer points) as this can put oils and dirt or residue on the cartridge. Gently wipe both heads on cartridge very softly with a non perfumed baby wipe! Now try printing again.

Peel off the label on top of the cartridge n under it there are the filling holes. the top hole thats by it self its for magenta color ink the hole in the left is for yellow ink and the one in the right is for cyan ink

Cable doesn t effect the speed unless you are printing huge size documents. I believe main factor is ram, cpu etc.

The cable might be broken some where. It is possible. But as for the speed of printing no. What appears to be the problem from what you have discribed it a driver or installation issue. Check that you have properly installed the software according to the manual. You can also try defragmenting your hardrive to speed up the performance of your machine. You RAM and Processor are just fine for this type of printer.

The cable has no bearing on the speed of the printer. If it was broken, it wouldn t work at all. The size of the document also has no bearing on the speed. The data is loaded into the printer memory and from there the printer will print as fast as it is designed to.

I don t think you can attach a printer preference to a document in any version of MS Word. Sorry.

You have to set the printer settings everytime unless that is the only job you are printing from it. Once you set the properties of the printer it stays the same until you change them again. You can t set printer properties for one document.

How do I stop my computer from putting the printer offline on its own? -

It will say it s ready and printing fine one minute and then it puts itself offline and I have to put it back online and reboot the pc in order to get it to print again.

Check to see if all the rollers are turning. Good luck.. If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can t see. Go to step 6. If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service. 6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. 7. Turn the printer off. 8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. 9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

For 10 minutes working it would not do any harm. But permanent placement of your laptop over the printer would lead to some damage.
