How do I change my printers default email program? -

I have recently installed a new HP Scanner Printer. It lists the default email program as Outlook Express and I don t seem to be able to change that over to my computer s default email, which is Yahoo. Help please!

Tools Internet options Programs tab Go to the email window, scroll to Yahoo, highlight and click apply This will make Yahoo your default mailer

Glad you mentioned that it s also a scanner... Cause printers don t e-mail, LOL, they print :) I m guessing you asking how to assign default e-mail program to the scanning software so it can e-mail scanned document/picture as an attachment. Well Yahoo is not a really a real application, so you can t... But you can save scanned image as a file to your hard drive and then attach it to the email in Yahoo manually by clicking on Attach button and selecting saved file from your hard drive

How can I tell if my Lexmark X4270 is the problem or it is my USB port? -

I can begin a page print from my pc to a USB connected Lexmark, but about 1/4 of the way into the print it is like it gets too much information and just stops printing.

1. Try printer on another PC (friend, neighbor, etc). 2. Try another printer cable (USB). Does it do the same thing with the printer test page from Windows? --Will watch for any additional details and will update then.

Do any other ink cartidges work with Dell printers? -

I have a DELL all in one printer 922. I have ordered on line for ink, but is there another way. Can you refill the cartridges?

Negative. Dell carts are proprietary

I have purchased lexmark for my dell good luck

Dell printers are made by Lexmark, so Lexmark cartridges will work.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy… Go To:Replacing Ink Cartridges in Ink Cartridge Maint. From the Dell Photo All-In-One 922 Printer Users Guide: quot;Dell ink cartridges are available only through Dell. You can order more ink online at www.dell.com/supplies or by phone. To order by phone, see quot;Ordering Ink Cartridges and Suppliesquot; in your Owner s Manual. Dell recommends Dell ink cartridges for your printer. Dell does not provide warranty coverage for problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied by Dell....quot; ______________________________________… Nope, sry...Dell Branded printer/Dell Branded cartridges only (no real law against using another mfg s ink cartridges, but there aren t any yet that fit).... That printer was either free or low cost but requires that you purchase your cartridges from Dell in the future. You can try to refill them (or get into a program w/ a commercial cartridge re-filler), but it isn t worth the hassle amp; mess anymore in my opinion to refill yourself though I used to do it. Their Dell ink is fairly low cost though considering what you paid for the printer...Best thing to do is place a double order, then when you get down to 1 avail...order more online. (Don t forget to send back your empties for recycling or take them into Staples to get $$$ s off merchandise). Good Luck! PS: Standard Lexmark printer cartridges WILL NOT WORK....There are extra tabs on the opposite sides of the cartridge(s). These were low cost or no cost, usually quot;FREEquot; printers I believe....They required and you agreed (look at that fine print always)...to buy your supplies from Dell in the future, so there was no intent of fraud under the law. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/categ… Scroll down at the link above to the bottom...See that tang in the center...you won t find that on a standard Lexmark branded cartridge. Proprietary to Dell only...Though probably mfg. by Lexmark for Dell. That 4 pack price isn t bad...comparable to Wally World if priced separately I d say. Folk s: There are no free lunches. If it s quot;Freequot;...Find out why.

I purchased a refill cartridge at walgreens but it didn t work very well. Your better off buying a brand new ink cartridge for your printer. I have an HP, am not familiar with Dell

What is the temperature range where a printer will work? -

What is the temperature range where a printer will work without making any troubles? I have a laser printer Samsung ML-1750.

Check the owner s manual. There should be a spec sheet on the printer and temp range should be there.

Where can I get printer cartridges for cheap? -

I have a Brother MFC-240C All-in-one printer that has almost run out of ink. It uses 4 separate ink cartridges (black, yellow, cyan, magenta). Where can I buy the Brother cartridges for a reasonable price? OfficeMax and Staples seem to overcharge.

Try Castle Ink - $7.95 per cartridge for compatibles: http://www.castleink.com/search.php?tpl=…

I feel http://www.printercartridges.net.au/ is also a good place to buy printer cartridges. They sell both remanufactured and original printer cartridges for all makes of printers. Report Abuse

How can I get my Lexmark 2300 to print in black and white? -

I cannot find any under options, and don t just say printgt;properties, be specific, because I have looked at every tab in properties and I can t find it anywhere, it not under any of the tabs in properties. Please help, the other answers on here weren t helpful at all!

Look at the cartridge(s) in your printer. One cartridge, not two? Is it a #1? The 2300 runs on one cartridge. In that cartridge are three different colors; cyan, yellow and magenta. No black. Your cartridge will make black by layering all three colors. You don t have the option to select black printing, because it is not availalbe with that ink system; there is no black ink in it. Kick it to the curb and get yourself a more economical printer.

Hi there. I m assuming this is for most Lexmark printers, which I have one of them. It all depends on what software you re using. Each software may have different ways of accessing the Print dialog box. Here s how you do it: (option #1 should be common to all popular software out there) 1) Select PRINT from the quot;filequot; menu toolbar 2) If you re using Windows XP, you ll see a familiar print dialog box. If you just have one printer installed, it s probably selected already, otherwise, click on the printer you want to print to then click on the Preferences (or sometimes Properties) button below under quot;Select Printerquot; boxed frame 2) quot;print color images in b/wquot; option should be there at the bottom of the box, or in one of the Lexmark settings (mine s in Quality/Copies tab, bottom right corner) 3) Just check it on to print in b/w and check it off to print in color. Hope this helps

if you can t find it in the printer properties then try changing it in the settings in the program, for example, excel allows you to print black and white.

How do I hook up my printer through a wireless connection? -

I promise I will vote a best answer tonight if someone can please help me. I just got a new laptop. I have not installed any printer on it. I am about to install the cd for my printer. I have a desktop hooked up to my printer alread. I have a wireless router hooked up for internet purposes. How do I hook it up so I can print things from a diffrent room that my bedroom (where the printer is). Please if possible explain this in lamens terms. Thank you very much :)

very easy 1 - On your desktop - go to Printers 2 - right click on the printer you want to use 3 - on the menu select properties 4 - In Properties click on the Sharing Tab 5 - Click Share This Printer then give it a name. On your LapTop 1 - Go to Printers 2 - Add A New Printer 3 - In the wizard choose A Network printer then click next 4 - select connect to this printer 5 - in the box type \\name of desktop\name of printer click next 6 - set as default click next 7 - finish

Ok, well there are many ways you could do this. The simplest way, which in your case means you do not have to buy anything else is to keep the printer connected to your desktop computer. Then set up your wireless network for your laptop. On your desktop choose to share files and printers in your network properties. Then put in the printer driver installation cd into you laptop.

The easiest networking solution comes from Apple. Download Bonjour for windows and it will find and do the stuff you want with mimimum hassle.

ok first on the computer ur printer is hooked up to click start, control panal, printers and other hardware, printers and faxes. then right click the printer u want to share then in the menu click properties then the shareing tab. click share this printer. name the printer. Then on ur computer u wanna print from go throught the same proccess used to get to printers and faxes then click add a printer follow the wizard clicking use quot;a network printer...quot; then browse for a printer... double click the printers host computer; the one its connected to click the printer then yes to the box that pops up... then yes to the next one and then finish.... that is if ur running xp on both computers....

goto controll panel and then printers... click add printer, select wireless or on the network or whatever for whatever os u use and it will search, if it doesn t find it then click browse and it shoud point u the network folder. Otherwise select it. Then click on your printer and it will download the drivers

laymens terms* :P anyways if you can connect your laptop to your desktop via wireless your in the right direction. Make sure file amp; print sharing is enabled, and then install the printer on your desktop (not the laptop) when the desktop is setup, right click the printer, select sharing, select SHARE THIS PRINTER, and name it appropriately, Applyamp;Ok Connect via the laptop to the wireless network and go into your network (to see the shares) the printer should show up, if it doesn t follow the steps through if you missed something, install the printer via the wireless NOT the CD (saves space)

You hook the printer up to a computer that is on the network, and then what you do is go to the printer properties of the printer and make sure that you have quot;File and Printquot; sharing on, and that the printer is quot;Shared on the networkquot; You then need to go to your laptop and add the printer by going to add printer in control panel, and find it on the network. It will install the drivers for you and you are all set!

How do you use the Canon PIXMA iP90 without plugging it into the wall-socket? -

My printer (canon iP90) will only print and turn on if it is plugged into a electric socket in the wall. This means that i can only use it at home near an outlet and i cant use it anywhere. I know this printer is capable of printing even in the car or park. Is it possible that it is supposed to have an attachment or is there a place i need to unscrew? Please I need help!

You need to purchase a Canon LK-51B Portable Kit which comes with a battery

What do you think of HP printers and scanners? -

What is your opinion of HP printers and scanners? Are they the best on the market, or would you recommend using a different brand? Are they reliable? Easy to use? Please let me know so I can figure out what to buy!

Hp is very well-rounded. They tend be be very sleek looking with higher quality parts than other generic manufacturers. Although the only problem with HP is that they are very proprietary meaning that if something breaks or you lose something such as the power supply you can t buy a generic one to replace it, you ll have to buy a replacement thats made explicitly from HP and the replacements parts cost more than generic. As far as scanners go, they get the job done and some offer many options, especially the all-in-one printers. Any questions? Email me. Good-luck!

HP printers are okay, once it works, it works unless there are some new softwares installed in your computer or new updates that are in conflict. But HP deals with it right away. We ve had HP for the longest time now. We have the all in one. It prints, fax, scan and copy. I recommend the J6480. It s also wireless. And for disappearing printer icons there is a patch for it. This is for printers manufactured prior to Vista. You might wanna ask the sales rep if the printer you are interested in will still print using available inks.

Don t buy a Canon whatever you do. They use colors when printing in black. I ran out of colors and Canon WOULD NOT print. I had to pay over 60 dollars for ink because Canon uses color when printing in black!!!! I think all of us Canon owners should create a class action suite against Canon. Be sure to check all printers before you buy one. Mine is for sale for $20.

Their printers, if you buy the right model, are among the best -- they certainly rule the laser market. Their scanners are no better and worse than the competition -- they ll do fine.

HP Printers are some of the finest printers on the market. Yes they are reliable and yes they are easy to use. If you re really looking into buying a printer, I would highly suggest an HP printer.

my HP sucks.i ve to reinstall it every 4-5 days.the printer files in my hardware file disappears.

Can a regular printer work with a mac and a dell? -

Would it work i think it is like a logtech printer. or the other kind of printers?

Yes, but you ll need drivers on both machines, and a suitable socket to plug it in. Some OS will recognise the printer immediately, others you will need to go on the web and download a suitable driver.

Yes. I was pleasantly surprised when I switched from PC to Macintosh that my HP laser and Epson inkjet continued to behave themselves. The interfaces may differ, but my desktop publishing and mail merging exercises continue without a pause. I am sure all reputable printers will have Mac drivers as well as PC ones.

My HP Deskjet F4180 wont print after I changed the ink cartridges. How do I fix this? -

It s happened before, but I forgot how to fix it. It prints the align sheet and everything, but it won t print any document that I send to it. I think that last time I had to copy the align sheet or something, but I already did that and it s still not working.

I d start by just unplugging your machine. Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it up. If that doesn t work, try this: ? Remove ALL cartridges ? Turn off printer ? Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes ? Reverse steps. Plug back in, turn on printer and install all cartridges

What is administrative authority and why is it necessary for me to have to add my printer? -

How much more can I own my computer? I bought it!

Generally you need to be an administrator to do anything like adding users, adding hardware, and installing programs on your computer. You can try Start gt;gt; Log Off gt;gt; Switch Users and try logging on with the username quot;Administrator.quot; If you bought your computer they should have set up up as an administrator by default. You can also go Start gt;gt; Control Panel gt;gt; User Accounts to view the details of the users set up on your computer. At the bottom of this screen will be the users who are set up and their privileges. If you are an administrator it should say quot;Computer Administratorquot; beside your name. On this screen if you click quot;Change an accountquot; and then click your username, you may be able on the next screen to click the option quot;Make admin.quot; Here you can also change passwords etc. Hope that helps.

Unless you want the capability to do administrative privileges, that allows you to alter system settings. It is NOT necessary to add to your printer.

What do i do if my printer wont install on my computer? -

What should I do about my stuck ink cartridge? -

I just bought a new all-in-one printer, scanner and copier. It s an HP Deskjet F2110. However, I put a 74 ink cartridge in it and it s stuck and won t come out. Obviously it s the wrong one, since the printer does not recognize it (yeah, stupid, I know, but Wal-Mart had them sitting in the same display with the printers; I though it was the one that went with it). So, how do I get it out? I ve tried everything! Even prying it out with butter knives! Any suggestions?

buy another one. i ve been there, done that with a steak knife, and coulldn t get it out.

The last thing you want to do is try and rip it out and ruin the printer or even snap the plastic holster that holds the ink cartridge. Try to wiggle and tug while pushing upwards to ensure no damage to be done, if you cannot remove it its hard to tell you what to do. If it was the right cartridge you can send it of to HP to get a new/repaired machine, but its the wrong one so I doubt they will give support. Just don t give up just wiggle and pull upwards and good luck to you.

Try from under neat, take the cover off (screws), if that don t work take back to the store, you still have the warranty and good luck and next time buy the right cartridge.

See if you can reach a finger under it and pop it out that way.

take it to where you got it from ask them if it can be fixed if not tell them to refund it plz or return it

Spray WD-40 on it!

Do NOT force it, any damage you do will invalidate your warranty. Contact hp, they are normally very helpful.

i did something like that once LOL!! but i just sat there wiggleing in backwards and falwards and it poped back out just mine was a epson but u cud try it see if it works put a bit of mussle into it to :) cause once there in there in but try not 2 stick anythin in there u might break the printer :)

If you installed the wrong Ink Cartridge then thats your problem. Don

Can someone recommend a printer with cheap cartridges be it original or non brand? -

I only want it for course work and not for printing out photos. Ideally I would like an all in one which saves all the messing around buying all the other colours. I have tried refilling cartridges before and the results were far from spectacular - although this was quite a while back, and I live miles from the nearest Cartridge world.

I ve had a Epsom c66 for a few years now and I buy my inks for LESS THAN A POUND EACH it has four cartridges and never had any problems with printing and photos for self use. The inks were bought from http;//www.ukdvdr.co.uk check for inks papers discs etc. go in and have a browse you won t be disappointed, they have a good delivery service, I have never been disappointed with their products

I can recommend this printer as great value for money. Price inc VAT £49.99 saving £30.00 Epson Stylus DX7400 / DX7450 Series All-in-One Printers - Stylus DX7450 Printer, Copier amp; Scanner Product code: 538222 The Epson Stylus DX7450 offers a complete printing and copying solution for the home and office. The Epson Stylus DX7400 / DX7450 offers a complete printing and copying solution for the home and small office user. It offers high-quality direct printing using either the memory card slots or PictBridge port, or can simply be used as a fast, PC-free colour photocopier. Epson’s latest generation of DURABrite? Ultra Ink provides laser-like text and glossy photos, and is resistant to water, smudging and fading. It is also cost effective due to individual inks cartridges. to view this product just click on the link below. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product… good luck

Have alook at the Kodak Easyshare 5100. It is very good and also Vista compatible. The inks are cheap as well. You can buy a combi pack of black and color for £15-99 which is way cheaper than any of the other own brand inks. I would not use the non brand cartridges as they can mess up your printer and also invalidate any warranty that you have on your printer. I got my Kodak from Argos for around £60 and I reckon that it is the best one I have had.Good luck.lol

I have a cheap HP printer which i bought from frys.com for $25. The black cartridge is $25 and the color one is like $30. I printed like 100 pages from my black cartridge. Its the hp 2300 series. Look for spring sales, dont spend more than $35 for the printer if your looking for a cheap one. Just maintain the printer well and you can keep it for years.

I think Epson printers use the cheapest cartridges on the whole amp; seem to accept the refillables more easily.Lots of printers at good prices around at the moment but not always easy to get the right cartridges.A lot of the shops only seem to carry the low usage ones.Best to buy online, lots of sites to check out.

Argos. Canon i250 or Lexmark Z735. Both about £30. Replacement cartridges gt; http://www.Inkclub.com/ Most in double packs. Canon about £7 for black and about £13 for colour.

look at quot;choice stationary quot; site they are very competative ,I have the hp 2300 ( 2 cartridge) and find it does all I need another site for ink cartriges is quot; ink2u quot; both are postal services but are very quick hope this helps both UK sites

Epson printers are good value Have you thought of looking on eBay All the Best

When printing a photo on 6x4 glossy paper is it possible? -

to blow the picture or zoom it up .Or do you have to buy a bigger glossy paper.

you need the software

you can get software that resizes the picture and crops it and all sorts... it may have even come with your printer...
