What kind all-in-one printer that has an automatic document feeder for scannning? -

I have a lot of documents that needed to be scanned. However, when I checked what kind of hi-speed scanner that has an automatic sheet feeder, I only could find Xerox DocuMate 262 and 510. Their price are above $250 which are too expensive for me. Therefore, I wonder whether anyone has purchased any kind All-in-One printer that can automatically feed the papers into the machine for scanning. Any information is highly appreciated :) Thank you.

I have Two HP officejets with document feeder--the 5510 and 6300(or 6100?). These I use for faxing multiple pages. I am not sure about the speed of scanning you require. Please check out HP s site ( Hpshopping.com). Use their live chat features to get recommendations then compare them to your need.

hey, Canon is coming out with some awesome all-in-ones that do this and they currectly have some that do this as well. check em out.

How do I print from my Dell Laptop to main computer? -

It use to let me too. Then all of a suden I wasn t able to print from my laptop to the main printer in the other room. Ever since we got it, it let me print from the laptop to the main printer. Any Suggestion s?

Read this and do it:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using…

seems you have relay problems. You might have to check the routers on your computer. Maybe one of them is not working.

you either have to connect your printer to your laptop with a USB cable, or you need to set up a wireless network so you can print without having to be standing by the printer all the time.

you may need to load your printer drivers, and make sure the main computer still has the printer shared

What photo quality printer would you recommend? -

I am looking for a new printer and am getting confused with all of the choices out there. I will be using it to print documents and photos for scrapbooking. I would like an all in one unit but not necessary since I already have a scanner. The main feature I want is quality photos, but I am not will to pay more than $200.

You don t need to spend anything close to $200. Go to this website. http://www.websner.com/index.php?option=com_contentamp;task=viewamp;id=20amp;Itemid=45 The Epson R380 is nice. We have one at my office. Websner recommended it and we like it.

Consumer report says the Canon IP 4300 is the best ink printer going, that is all I use for the past 20 years is Canon.

For cheap running costs do this..... Yahoo search quot;Continuous Ink Supply Systemquot; Select any printer that can use the system, pick whichever suits you,,,6 colour epson (maybe print CD s as well) then look forward to 90% saving on the cost of parts. Dont listen to the prophets of doom, I have saved so much over the last 2 yrs I could have bought 3 new printers.

How do I reset my canon mp210 ink counter? -

I ve refilled my canon mp210 black cartidge but it still shows empty on the printer.

You can t .. all manufacturers now use chips to record ink tank levels and these are one time use only .. If you use a compatible cartridge, you still have to move the chip to the new cartridge, so the printer can ID the ink color .. but it still reads as empty .. All you can do is override the out of ink msg. (and set don t tell me again ). This should be explained in the leaflet that came with your refill kit.

How to change a toner on a HP PDC2410 all in one Printer? -

I have a HP PSC2410 all in one Printer. It is not printing properly. When it prints is is all smeared. I have changed the Ink cartridges but have been told I need to change the toner. How do you do this? Thanks.

Though I saw once reference to a quot;tonerquot; for this printer on the website. It does not have a toner cartridge. Toner is used in Laser printers. The manual makes no mention either: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpu… Check this out: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum…

How do i set my printer to black and white only? -

My Epson stylus cx6600 printer prints color but how do i get it to print black and white? plz help!

That s easy! Go to some store like Office Depot or Staples or some store like that and buy black and white printer ink. The ink costs $30-$60.

I went to my printer in control panel and saw options for only Black print - (Canon printer) - Look in there -

go to printer preference amp; select B/W. if already selected, then must be your black ink is empty.

buy black and white ink. go to office depot/staples and ask them for the ink that prints black and white.

Im buying a printer soon whats the best to if im going to alot of printing? -

Im buying a printer soon whats the best to if im going to alot of printing? What printer holds the most ink?

If you are going to do a lot of printing get a laser printer. Replacment toners are a lot of money but they print a lot more pages than if you were to buy an inkjet printer. Replacement inkjet cartridges go quickly and thus are only ideal for people who do a little printing. The only downside to laser printers are that they are larger and bulkier than inkjet. They print faster though (if you get a good one).

Hi. To be honest, if you are only wanting a printer for home use, for now and again, then just buy a cheap one. The reason......the ink cost more then the printers! Of course if you want it for proffessional use/results then do buy a laser but of course these are far more expensive. Really its a case of wieghing up the pro s and cons of it all. Tecnology moves on so quicky but whatever printer you decide on, do remember that the life span of most printers is not very long, roughly a year at most! Due to this, it really has to be a matter of choice and of course whether you need it for work? Of course the laser printer are far better and the cost is far more expensive but you do get far better quality print outs. The life span is still not yet, long though, esspecialy for the money they cost. If it is only for fun/home use, then do consider the life span and the cost and maybe just choose a cheap one so that instead of keep paying out for ink etc. you can just buy another when it dies, as of course the ink comes with it. Hope this helps sandy x

If you dont need high quality photos, a color laser will do you fine. Staples has the Samsung CLP-315 for $130 after $50 rebate and instant $30 off coupon. Add something small to bring the total to $200 for free shipping. Newegg has a black Samsung laser with scanner for $40 after rebate. Here s the page of the deals: http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/?s=la… Laser printers are more expensive up front than ink jets but the toners last for thousands of pages and usually can be refilled. I have the Samsung color laser and I was told there are cheap refills on ebay which work fine.

i d suggest you buy an hp printer. something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… yes the cost is huge compared to the inkjet upfront. But it s designed for a huge duty cycle, is networkable, and is highly reliable. From my own personally experience, i have a couple of these in a 4 teacher grade unit. They use them as a unit printer, which all 4 teachers print from. I have gone to fix the printer, maybe twice in 9 months. So far i have over 30,0000 page run thru them. Inkjets can t even come close to this kind of reliability.

I have Hewlett Packard Deskjet D2430 InkJet Printer. I like it very much. Color Resolution: 4800 x 1200 dpi Black Resolution: 1200 x 1200 dpi Color Print Speed - 12.5 ppm Black Print Speed - 12.5 ppm I bought it for around $50 here: http://caseyequip.com/p~p-41330690.html

you might want to find a low cost commercial printer if you re going to do a lot. It s usually cheaper and better quality than doing it from home. You can try www.reducedprinting.com for high volume low cost printing

HP 1006 laser. Fast and cheap. 2.5p per A4 sheet.

How can I stop my printer from printing wonkily? -

I was happily printing away, when a cable got in the way of my Desk-jet 995Cs paper, causing a jam. I pulled out the jam, but now I have a bigger problem. The printer is now printing really wonky. Is there any way to fix this?

Okay, Take out all the paper. Put 1 (One) piece in making sure that it touches the *BOTH* sides of the paper dock at all times, making sure the paper is in the VERTICAL/HORIZONTAL/DIAGONAL (dependant on printer) and then pressing the button which lets the printer know you have entered paper, it will then do a quot;TPquot; (test print) (see your owners manual) and then see if it comes out wonky. If it does come out wonky, this is because when you pulled the paper jam out the ink jet got dis-aligned, open the top and make sure everything is in the correct position. If not, try to push the things into position, then do another test print (following my instructions in the above paragraph) if that doesn t work, return it to the store. Good Luck!

Sounds like the alignment was moved during the problem you had. The printer should have a maintance tool box to realign the printer, check for any out paper pieces that maybe stuck.

Go to your maintenance programme for the printer and then alien the print again. This should do it Good luck

Either the heads need cleaning, which you should have the software for that came with the printer... Or worse is that you might have damaged them, then i would carefully open it up and take a look whilst it is printing, if it jolts back and forth then you might have mis -aligned the heads.. but first try the cleaning on the software.

try realigning the printer in set up printer menu.

ummmm define wonky and ill get back to you

always remember... if paper is strucked in printer.... switch off Printer and then pull the paper. this will loosen the paper while pulling the paper, pull from both sides together else papre will tear.. for now, open printer and look for paper bit inside, if can find one print blank documents (10 to 15 pager in a stroke) and c if paper a coming out properly..

You must have left a bit of paper in. Even the tiniest bit will mean that the paper won t feed through properly.Have a look both sides of the printer, i.e. where the paper feeds in and where it comes out, and I m sure you ll find a bit of crumpled paper somewhere caught up in the rollers. A tweezers is sometimes a good way of getting it out, though often it just tears off making the problem even worse. Good luck. Another thought, but I presume you ve thought of this, you have put the sheet feeder guide right back on the paper so that it fits tightly into the tray?

there are 2 reasons you get a wonky,, a) the paper still is not lined up proper b) the lines themselves have been dislodged, ]i dont know which is which in your case ,, so here goes .. remove all the paper and rein put new paper,, in line with the set up lines or the selve lining sides for the paper the other4r thing is with the ink and a wonky line is that when you or on mine its when i put in a knew ink cartridge,, i get a tester with 10 lines running up the paper,, with Numbers 1 to 10,, i pick the straightest line to the number IE if line 9 is the straightest or least wonkiest that s the one for me so remove your cartridge very carefully not to spill ink,,,,,,,,, then reinsert it,, it may fool the printer and computer its had A new cartridge,, then it may automatically, line up or you can set it like i have just explained trouble is what cable and where did the cable get stuck well this sounds like a lot of work to do resetting and restarting but it only takes 5 minutes if that ,,, give it a go speaking of go off i go now GOOD LUCK

make sure the paper is in completely straight and the sliders that hold the paper are set to the right size. If this isnt the problem then open it up and make sure the ink jets arnt wonky and are set straight. hope this helps

Does anybody else find that Epson printers have a lot of trouble with feeding? -

I have an RX560 and whenever I go to print something, the paper gets sucked in at an odd angle and I have to pull it out by hand and cancel the job. There s nothing jammed in the printer as far as I know. Are there any dos or donts with feeding the printer? I just use ordinary paper and I don t know whether there s only one printing-compatible side or what!

We have seen this problem on several occasions. Assuming there is nothing in the paper path then you may want to try turning the rubber paper feed roller inside out. You can do this by rolling the rubber ring on itself. This will expose the inside rubber which may have better grip. This is only an short term measure as the inside rubber is smoother than the outside of a new rubber ring. http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk

I have the RX430 and it also slides in at a slight angle. I usually just put my finger alonside the paper until the feed is inititated.

I have an Epson R300 and it regularly will not feed the paper. It s very annoying

Mine is ok dnt use anything special might just be faulty runners on it ?????

No fault with mine and it is in constant use.

yes i have trouble feeding my printer..it will never eat its supper.lol

Mine is too :( :(

i tink u should check ur paper la..normaly my papers oni gv problem...

Do I need a certain kind of printer to be able to print on a transparent overhead? -

I want to print a paragraph or two onto a transparent overhead for a school project, my printer is HP PSC 1610 quot;all-in-onequot; printer/scanner/copier. I was just wondering if it would work if I put an overhead in the tray instead of printer paper to print onto. and if i were to do that, could something to terribly wrong?

NO, however you do need a special kind of overhead to print on. You need INKJET compatible transparancies, every office store has them.

How can I find out what HP machine uses the 10A toner? -

I m trying to streamline my office machines. I already use the 10A carts and need a new printer. If you have ever tried calling HP, you would know why I m asking here!

if you look on the toner box it will list all of the compatable model numbers.

Look in the back of the product selection guide. http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ipgselect… If that does not help search HP s site.

Currently the only printers which uses that particular cartridge are the laserjet 2300 (d/dn/dtn/n). It is a brand new model on the market so there is a very good chance that over the next few months HP will be releasing more printers which use that cartridges.

The HP 10A cartridge goes to the HP Laserjet 2300 Series. So if the printer says Laserjet 2300 it will work in it.

What Kind on printer is used to print Shopping Catalogs? -

Do Laser or Inkjet printers print (thin glossy paper) shopping catalogs (like the ones you get in the mail). I need one for my business, and need to buy one but i dont know what kind of printers will print those? Laser or Inkjet or something else?

Magazines and catalogs are printed on 4 colour process printing presses. You wouldn t be able to justify the space or cash outlay to just buy one. Contact a commercial printer and have them do it for you or, if you only have a few color pages and laser copies will work, Kinko s, Office Depot, Staples or the UPS Store will all print it at a reasonable price. Just bring them a file and they ll give you a quote.

Whats the difference between an inkjet printer and a photo printer which one is better quality? -

Photo printer have the better quality, But it is expensive compared to the other

Most printers uses inkjet, but quality of printing depend upon the brand of printers either black and white printer of Photo printer. :)

i have both!! photo = better

The photo printer is far better quaility. Its capable of printing out prints of the usual photo quility. The only problem is that photo paper can be REALLY expensive. Also, you may find that phot printers will be faster than inkjet, dont know on that one though

Normally they are the same (ink jet technology) but obviously finer nozzles and better ink with the photo printer. If your looking for stunning quality go colour laser. EPSON are GOOD and the inks are far cheaper than HP and for sure Lexmark.

Photo printer is slightly better quality but if you re not going to be printing out a lot of photos, false economy, inkjets apart from Canons and Lexmark give good prints these days. But even if you do print out photos, if you use photo paper, I personally find that my inkjets (HPs and Epsons) give good enough quality.

there the same really, photo ones are usually more expensive to start with and more expensive on cartages, Just make sure that you use a good quality paper and the print results should be the same. + Buy from HP or maybe cannon and dont ever touch a lexmark or epson. there awfull.

How would i name my dell 3110cn printer on the network? -

We have several of these printers with non descript names and everyone is confused about the location of the pritners.

I name them the location. Like work, the room number at home, the room name...and also if its color laser or B/W etc

But how do you name this printer? Report Abuse

you can call it what you like as long as it is unique and your pc recognises it, same goes for others, use the location as part of the name may be a good start.

What printer technology existed before inkjets and laser jets? -

1) Dot matrix - line of small dots, as in some receipts, (2)Thermal - chemical paper, as in older faxes, almost all receipts (3) Impact - like old typewriters, daisy wheels, like many printing calculators, (4)Plotters - a pen on a mechanical arm, used mostly in engineering and architecture. Btw, Laser Jet is a brand name. Call them laser printers.

Impact printers. Those would be dot matrix where individual pins were struck on an inked ribbon, to make a pattern of dots on the paper, which in the process of things would form the pictures or text. Another form of impact printer is called a Daisy Wheel, which instead of individual pins, formed characters are struck through the ribbon, much like a typewriter. Early such printers were sometimes based on typewriter mechanisms. Plotters. Rather than being quot;Rasterquot; images of dost that most printers are, a plotter would draw the image or text as lines. Its head was more or less a pen attached to an X and Y system driven. by motors. Plotters were mostly used for CAD systems, whose drawings were mostly lines. Vinyl lettering cutters are basically a variety of plotters, as are some CNC machines. Thermal. Basically a specially treated paper, which the elements on the head would quot;burnquot; the special coating black. Older fax machines, receipt printers, and some printing calculators would use that technology.

Impact printers also for larger volume business usage. EDIT - also reverse strike impact printers using rotating bands of characters such as the IBM Model 4245 http://argecy.com/images/4245-3.jpg

Dot matrix

its dotmatrix printers.... still it has its own values

How do I fix a Spooler subsystem app error? -

I tried going into the administrative folder and deleting what was inside the win32 Spooler and Drive folders but that didn t work. I then reinstalled the printer completely and I still get the same error message. How do I fix this problem?

Download http://www.tune-up.com/download/tu2008/ and do a complete registry scan. It s a 30 day trial but it s fully functional you only need to run it once. I m positive it will solve your problem. It works better than programs like Registry Mechanic and CCleaner

How do you print websites with black backgrounds without printing the black? -

Highlight the texts or pictures that you would like to print. Click File | Print. Click on Print Selection, then click OK. Kevin s answer is OK, if you can figure out how to invert the colors. However, it would just be easier to select what needs printing and choose Print Selection in the print screen. Copying and pasting it into a word document is more likely to screw up the margins and placement of the elements of the page, which you ll have to spend time fixing before printing.

Fez, I d either invert the image in the printer settings, if possible, or, what I usually do - which is to simply drag across everything I want and then, while it s highlighted, I hit cntrl-c (which puts it in the copy buffer), then, I go to a word document, click into it so that it s the active window, then hit cntrl-v, which pastes it into the page. Should be a very close match, and you can mess with the fonts however you need to. If it was white font on a black page, you may not see it until you highlight it and turn it black. -Kevin

Kevin s answer is a really good one. The questioner should select it as quot;Best Answerquot; when permitted (after it s been up for about four hours).

What printer can print out textured and embossed prints? -

What printer can make out the elevated or depressed effect on paper once printed?

I can think of two possible answers for you: You may be looking for Letterpress Printing - this is a printing press that uses pre-made dies to quot;stampquot; the engraving or letters into the surface of the paper, leaving the raised embossed type finish. OR you may be thinking of Thermography Printing Thermography is a process used in conjunction with a conventional offset printing press, where business cards, letterhead or envelopes are printed and then while the ink is still wet a powder is dusted over the wet ink and melted causing a raised effect. The most noticeable difference between offset printing and raised printing is in the visible gloss amp; texture

Why is my printer not printing true to color? -

My printer is a HP 1100 Series Inkjet printer and the color cartridges are 2 to 3 years old. They are the original cartridges; could that be the reason for the colors not being true?

The color cartridges are so old some of the colors have probably already dried out. There is a use-by date on the hp cartridges, usually abt 2 yrs from the date you buy it.

Yep!! Usually when the color or colors get real low you start getting erratic hues of colors. Try this website for a good economical place to buy printer supplies. http://www.imarketcity.com Hope this helps.

If the cartridges are old that would be a reason it is not printing true to colour. When is the last time you cleaned the printer heads on your printer? If the heads get dirty or smudged that also can cause the printer not to print true to colour.

Whats best value an all in one printer or seperates? -

I need a new printer, during my investigations the prices for printers and all in one are not to different! I get various conflicting info. I d use it for photo s,scanning, copying mainly.

You have no idea how little you use those things.. Best value is pop in the local copy shop .

All in ones are nice, simply for the reduced claim on desk real estate. What you really need to look for is the cost of the ink cartridges - a 40 quid printer that wants another 40 quid for a refill will quickly become more expensive than a 100 quid model that only wants a tenner. If you ve the budget, go for one with separate printheads and ink reservoirs.

Epson Stylus DX 4000 Check the Epson site for offers A great all rounder at very low initial cost: The Epson DX4000 printer offers a complete printing and copying solution for all the family. Ideal for all types of applications from school projects and web printing to photos, it can be used connected to your home PC or simply used as a colour photocopier in standalone mode.

Ive got a Lexmark X2550 and its brilliant =]

i have never had separates, mostly because of space. i do have an epson cx4800, which i have had for a couple of years. it gets daily use. i have scanned thousands of pictures, made many copies of documents, and printed hundreds of things. always worked perfectly, and never had a problem of any kind. i wont hesitate to buy another when the time comes. it has been an excellent all-in-one for me.

These days, they ve actually become useful. It really comes down to personal preference but I would keep a close eye on ink prices. I tend to recommend Epson Stylus all-in-one s as being the best bang for the buck. HP s are good quality but their ink prices are an absolute ripoff. Brothers have gotten high ratings this last year and the highest on average. Kodak has come out with a new model that uses their new ink that is 1/3 the cost of everyone else. My biggest recommendation is to get one that ONLY does exactly what you want. Everytime you add a new bell or whistle, you add complexity and another chance for a glitch.

Have to agree Epson . I use DX8450 having had an Epson before - super for scanning photos. Cartridges easy price and when guarantee runs out can buy compatible cartridges at reasonable price too. All in one nowadays. this one takes a photo card too.
