Does anyone know what kind of machine is used to print posters? -

I am looking for a machine that is capable of printing posters/banners the size of 6 feet x 2 feet. The printing paper is the thin plastic sheets used to print poster.

Epson and HP both make printers capable of producing short runs. They will cost you a few thousands. The paper is expensive. The ink consumption is horrendous. Unless you are going into business, take your stuff to Staples, Office Max or a local printer.

How print to networked printer using the Internet? -

I have a HP LaserJet P2015dn currently configured to my home network and would like to print to it while away from home using the Internet.

You would need a program called PC Anywhere or, Reach-out. These two are total security package that can let you manipulate your computers from any distance :)

How do i start my print spooler? -

i tried to start my print spooler service by doing the services.msc thing. but it wont load. apparently, it depends on another service which got installed in my computer when i installed a lexmark printer on it. however, i dont use that printer anymore. i even uninstalled it. im using an epson printer now but the print spooler still relies on the lexmark service. how do i remedy that? i cant reinstall the lexmark printer though

in Xp click start run , open the command prompt ( black DOS screen opens) type quot; net stop spoolerquot; and enter , then type quot;net start spoolerquot; and enter , if it don t start this could be an issue with the os OR u could go to the control panel and enbale it in SERVICES.

heres a link for an automatic fix for this: http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else Report Abuse

Can I print from My Epson CX8400 if I do not have the Cyan ink to be replaced at the moment? -

I need to print the regular black and white document? The store did not have the Cyan ink in stock! SO what do I do?

You can try it but most printers need all cartridges to be installed and have ink. Some don t, you can only try.

How do I change settings on my computer so when I print it prints backwards? -

I am trying to print something backwards so I can tranform it to a t-shirt . . . I have tried everything . . .. Oh and I guess it is called mirrored image

Using the features of the graphics program, flip the image as desired.

Word does a great job of printing documents. However, for some purposes you might find it useful to print a mirror image of a document--where everything is reversed on the printout, and you can only see it correctly if you look at the document in a mirror. For example, you might need such a mirror image if you are doing silk screening onto tee shirts or coffee mugs with the output you create. Unfortunately, Word has no intrinsic setting that allows you to create mirrored output. There are ways you can achieve the same results, however. The first thing you should do is to check out the capabilities of your printer driver. Most PostScript printers (and many non-PostScript HP printers) include the capability to mirror the output. The feature is not limited to laser printers, either. Many ink-jet printers include the capability to do mirrored output. All you need to do is click on the Properties button in the Print dialog box, and then do a little exploring in the various tabs and controls. On my printer, the option is contained in a portion of the dialog box entitled PostScript Options. Yours, obviously, may be in a different place. The feature may have a name such as quot;mirror outputquot; or quot;flip horizontal.quot; If you search high and low and cannot find such an option, there is a tricky low-tech solution you can use. All you need to do is print from Word, like normal, on a piece of overhead transparency film. Then, turn the printed film upside down and copy it on a copier. The result--mirrored output, just like you need. Finally, if you don t want to mess with the transparencies (it can get a bit expensive if you have many pages to do), you can follow these general steps, instead: 1. Prepare your document as normal. 2. Press Ctrl+A to select the entire document. 3. Press Ctrl+C to copy it to the Clipboard. 4. Switch to a graphics program, such as Paint Shop Pro. 5. Press Ctrl+V to paste the document s image into the program. 6. Using the features of the graphics program, flip the image as desired. 7. Select the entire image and copy it back to the Clipboard. 8. Switch back to Word and paste the graphics object into the document. 9. Print as desired.

edit your image and rotate it vertically so the image will be backwards. then print it.

Your printer properties may allow that function, but more commonly you have to make your design in a photoshop program, which will have a setting to print transfers.

depending on the printer you are using, there are printer properties you can go into to mirror for things like transfers etc..try that, open up the printer control and see whats there.

What ink cartridges work with my printer? -

I have a COMPAQ U600 and I have been to about 5 stores today, where I usually get my ink cartridges but for some reason everyone was out of the one i needed. I have a lexmark 50 black ink cartridge in right now, are there any other cartridges (black ink only) that I can get to use for my printer?

if you don t mind, you can purchase the ink over the internet, and they are much much cheaper than buying from the stores. Here s one: http://inksell.com. I ve used them. Cheap price and good quality ink.

just ask in the store for customer services and as about the ink and printer

Are you sure that is a U600? http://www.printpal.com/compaq_ij600.htm…

go to cartridge world if you have one in your town, i went there yesterday and got my cartridge filled for half the price of replacing it. http://www.cartridgeworld.com

How do I get a picture on a napkin? -

I would like to print my son s picture on napkins for his b-day party. Does anybody have any tips on how to best do this? I tried taping the napkin to some paper and print that way but the napkin jams in the printer and it looks wrinkled and smudged also. Any tips would be appreciated.

If you are using paper napkins that s a bit hard to do. There are products you can buy in the store to iron on to cloth such as T-shirts, cloth napkins, anything you can iron basically. HP sells some good paper at http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppi… that you can use. However you might also try your local print shop to see if they can do it for you for a minimal charge.

How should I dispose of my old printer? -

I bought a new printer today and I was wondering how I should dispose of my old broken printer?

Take it to a recycling center or contact manufacturer to see if the recycle, it s enviromentally friendly and the savings get passed on to us.. Good Luck

donate it

throw it 2 the garbage, or recycle it ; )

recycle it

If you cant do what Jarhead said (recycling center or contacting manufacturer) then just take it to the nearest computerstore, they should have a recycling unit or know where the nearest one it! Dont leave it outside or by the trash thats harming the environment and increasing the chance of gllobal warming which is soon gonna happen (and that dammned bush aint doing anything about it as a matter of a fact he just increased the amount of gasses he produced by double (and he knew what he was doing since 8 top world geographers told him what would happen if he continued making it or increasing it) These gasses increase our chance of global warming and ice age happening during our lifetime!) Do you honestly want our kids to blame us for what we did? and to say oh if they were more careful I wouldnt be suffering now? Sorry for gettign off topic but I see my parents and I think how much [pollution they put and how much I put, even though I try to recycle as much as I can (I vollect batteries and odd electronics from the house that dont work) but its still not enough! 1 in 200 bothers to do something! become a part of that 0.5%! I hope to grow up and say well I know my kids wont be suffering! Good luck with that printer! (and btw Im not forcing you to do anything your life si yours but Im just saying how life would be better if we all did a little help to nature)

Recycle.

Hello If by any chance you Live in Ireland you can bring it in for free, or return it to the shop where you purchased it under the WEE regulations for the EU. its free because when you buy a product you pay a small fee on the new item thus covering the cost of the old one beigh recycled. All new components must also be lead free for example under a new directive called ROHS. So WEEE centres are around. If your in Ireland or Greater EU

Depends on the type of printer you had. If its a home printer style probably trashing it away will be the best but if its something Office style why not put it for sale on ebay or craigslist.

uh,hmmm, let me see.well why don t you just set it out with the trash like everybody else.

Whats so different about a laser printer from a regular printer? -

I heard that it s cheaper to print stuff from laser printers. How does it work? does it actually use a laser?

A laser printer uses toner instead of ink and light/HEAT during the printing process to actually quot;burnquot; or quot;meltquot; the images/letters onto the paper. Toner is powder-y and the heat activates it. Inkjets use ink and if you notice, for the most part, print quot;wetquot; (ever notice that if you use really cheap paper and tell it to print on quot;high qualityquot; that the ink seems to seep through to the back??) Laser printers generally are a bit more expensive on the front end to buy -- that is, they cost more than a $99 inkjet printer. However, acknowledging the fact that most inkjet cartridges are costly - $36 for color; $15-20 for black -- and you are lucky to get one reams worth of paper printed from a set of inkjet tanks (that s 500 sheets/ream) - and rarely that, you ll find that toner (even at $65-100) over time will cost less because you should get at LEAST 3-5 reams of paper worth of printing from that toner (we re talking black/white laser only --NOT COLOR). Understand though, page yield (which is what we re talking about here) is not that easy to pin down... they used to use a pretty rigid formula to get those advertised numbers of pages per cartridge -- and since most people don t print in those parameters, it really was false information... and HP and Epson, for instance, were quot;calledquot; on it a few years back. That s why you don t often see quot;page yieldquot; as a spec anymore. Laser printing for the most part is also quot;smudge-proofquot;... (ever get a paper wet that was printed on an inkjet?? yuck!) since the images are burned into the paper. Also, if you were to take a magnifying glass and look really closely at a few specific letters (like small a, small f, small g) on the same document printed on each machine, you will notice how much quot;smootherquot; and crisp the laser letters will appear (esp. with an HP)_ Hope this answered your questions!! Laserz faster. and better.

A regular printer takes forever and a laser printer shoots copies out very very fast.

well,, i don t know if it uses a laser, but they use this substance called quot;tonerquot; i think it is cheaper, but i myself have never owned a laser printer. but, they have been around for a long time though. hope this can help

Which printer is best for economical low quality printing of text files in bamp;w and color? -

I m looking for a home printer that is reasonably priced, will last a while, and easy on ink to print out text files white black ink and color ink. Quality doesn t matter so much, as long as it s readable. I would also prefer the ink to be found at an office supply store, rather than ordering online, or through a service. If anybody can suggest a few models that do this, I would be very appreciative.

If you re not super-concerned about quality (meaning press-quality), HP makes a lot of great desktop ink jet and laser printers. I have an all-in-one (copy, scan and print) and it works really well and was less than $50. The cartridges are really cheap too (like $35 for both b/w and color). I would suggest buying decent paper though, because that really can make a difference on how well your printer prints. Hope this helps!

If you re looking for a reliable all-in-one inkjet with good quality output, a solid warranty and inexpensive ink, look at the Epson workforce or NX series. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. You can find ink at a supply store but you will be paying a lot for it as compared to online. I get cartridges for my Epsons from http://ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold 50% more ink than standard cartridges.

I d definitely recommend the HP D2560 Deskjet Printer (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015ZMZNE?ie=UTF8amp;tag=yoga089-20amp;linkCode=as2amp;camp=1789amp;creative=390957amp;creativeASIN=B0015ZMZNE) This printer works fast with no frills and works great for the price. It s on the smaller side so it fits even on a cluttered desk and doesn t have that bulky top feeding feature. It s simple and quick to set up. Ink is readily available, you can pick it up in pretty much any office store - hope this helps!

Based on your requirements, the laser printer would be suitable for your needs. It offers good quality with relatively low per page cost. However, laser printers are known to have high initial cost. To solve this problem, you might want to check out this site. It offers printer rental packages available to rent for a day, a month, a year or more. They also offer various brands including HP, Epson, Fuji, Xerox and Lexmark.

What home printer is best for my new wedding stationery business? -

i want to print both text and graphics on card up to A3 size , with a maximum wieght of 300gm card stock. preferably on a colour inkjet printer. Any advice gratefully recieved .

You won t find a home printer that will do what you need. Choose a laser printer, but look at the specs carefully. Sure laser toner appears to be expensive, but these do last a lot longer than inkjet, also the result doesn t run when the paper gets damp. Look for a model with a straight paper path, so that it doesn t bend your card. Make sure you see samples of output as the picture an colour rendition vary significantly from model to model. Some colour photocopiers can by used as network printers, it might be worthwhile leasing or renting one of these if your volumes warrant it.

Hp commerical grade lines that are using a lazer jet printer, in the long run the catridges will be less expensive to replace then a home printer.

look at color lasers, not ink jet... if you want a quality end product that will last and not run should it get moist, the laser is the way to go... a few inkjets do offer waterproof inks, but as a norm, no... I would look at HPs line or Lexmark in the color lasers... yes, Lexmark makes cheap (crap) inkjets, and better ones, but they are known for their lasers... Plus your end speed will be much better and the amount of fine detail will be sharper in the end...

On average, what is the price for having a computer technician even look at a broken printer? -

There might be additional costs, of course, depending on the specific problem. However, what is usually the price before the technician will even look at it? And what s the price difference for a professional and the kid around the corner?

Call around, a small independent will charge around $75 an hour, a dealer over a $100 an hour. We are flexible on estimates and usually don t charge for an estimate if it looks like a minor thing and you bring it in. It doesn t happen a lot as we mainly fix commercial printers, we look at the small ones as in interesting distraction. Have you tried to repair it yourself with the help of the people on here? There are quite a few knowledgeable people from what I have seen in other posts.

Does someone know how to see how many times a document has been printed in a computer? -

As far as I know, you can t. Sorry!

Can the small toner cartridges of a home computer be recycled? -

I have a Brother MFC-240C. Can those little cartridges be recycled, and if so, where do I send them?

Yes, they CAN be recycled. Many cartridge manufacturers put an address on the packaging and even pay the postage. You can also return them directly to Office Max and other office supply stores and they ll recylce them for you as well. NEVER toss them into the household trash, as the toner is considered Hazardous Material and can contaminate a MSW landfill or volatize and enter the atmosphere in a MSW incinerator. Always dispose of Household Hazardous Waste through your local HHW (Household Hazardous Waste) program. HHW programs have been mandated for ALL communities in the U.S where there is a Solid Waste Program. the more HHW that you dispose of properly, the less likelyhood of there being tocic exposures to them to nearby residents to MSW facilities. BB, Raji the Green Witch

Office Max will also recycle Ink Jet cartridges as well. They WERE giving out a free ream of paper with each returned item for a while. You can also buy recycled cartridges there as well. Raji the Green Witch Report Abuse

Brother cartridges, not so much. If anything those are actually broken down for the plastic. check with your local waste management depot as well as cartridge recycling programs to see if the take them.

Where we live, places like Office Max or Office Depot give you a credit towards a purchase when you bring the cartridges in. Check and see if a store does that in your area. You do need to find out what kind they take. I use the credit to get reams of paper for printing or purchase supplies for my husband s classroom. The stores do all the work, and we still benefit from recycling.

yes and staples will give you a gift certificate up to 9 dollars you can use on antyhing in the store

Aunty - In I all the printer cartridges are refilled and used. Indians are experts in doing all recycling. Since printer cartridges are very costly here they do refilling, including the model stated by you. Some body at your end also must be available. Please try. -

Yes, they can and should be recycled. Look at the instructions in the box of your cartridge to find out how to recycle your old one. Many companies will provide instructions, packaging materials and free postage if you wish to recycle your old cartridge, which is then refilled and used again.

yes, look in ur daily paper, yellow pages, ask at a computer store

Can anyone advise me on a low cost printer that will be compatible with my Windows 98 computer? -

I had an HP 722C but the cartridges cost more than many new printers. I need something to tide me over until I can afford to update my computer. Thanks.

You might have some trouble finding one. I would suggest going to Best Buy and ask if it would even be possible.

HP and Brother have some cheaper model of laser printers under $100. Make sure you get one that have both parallel and USB ports. USB connection for Windows 98 computers can be tricky. Check with Walmart or Office Depot. Watch for sales in Office Depot.

Buy the cheapest canon, it will do you well and ink tanks will be cheap.

You need one with a parallel interface vs USB, which may be hard to find. HP, Epson etc.. sell the printer cheap, they make their money on the cartridges. You will have the same problem with any printer. It s like cell phone service, there is a reason they give you the phone.

Does anyone one know where i can download the epson stylus photo r200 installation cd? -

please, i have lost the cd to my printer and really need to install in again. thanks in advance.x.

Go to here: http://www.epson.co.uk/ You will find the drivers and support section on the right half way down. You can download drivers directly and install them from the comfort of your own home! I ve used it before,it s dead easy. Just choose your make and model from the pop-up menus. I checked; your model is listed. (also, you ll get a newer driver than the original on the CD)

Here the driver you need to install your printer. Just select you operating system and save them to a CD, then you will have you installation CD. Or you can just run the software right off the web site. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo…

How to make printer not print the blue hyperlinks? -

as I m out of color inked and only have black. At this current state its missing the word(s) since there is no blue int :( Thanks.

Set it to print in grayscale, not color.

Ink is a lubricant for the print heads. Some color ink is used even if you only print in black. If you printed with a color missing, you could destroy that print head from the friction of running without ink to luricate it. That s why most printers won t allow you to print with a color missing even if you aren t using it. If you allow a color to go empty, the residual ink in the head could clog and become permanently blocked. You would never be able to print that color again. So always replace ink cartridges as soon as they are empty. Leaving your printer on takes very little power. Every so often the printer sends a signal to cycle the ink in the heads so it doesn t clog. If you turn your printer off, the next time you turn it on it will do a cleaning which wastes a lot of ink. The excess ink is soaked up by the waste pad beneath the printer. When the waste pad is full, the printer stops working. Unless you want to spend more than the cost of the printer or waste a lot of time on a messy cleanup you will end up throwing the printer out. So shutting it off actually shortens its life. If you leave the printer off for extended periods of time, the ink in the heads will clog and you will have to throw the printer away. Someone I know with a Canon (though this can happen with any inkjet) had to have the heads replaced twice within the first few months before the Canon tech told her to stop turning it off. Since then it has worked perfectly for over a year.

Are you using Word? If so you could highlight the entire page, and then press CTRL-SHIFT-F9 and it will disable all of the links and make them normal text. In addition, if you want to set your document where it will not make the links into hyperlinks as you type, you go into the settings of Word, and take off the check mark beside the box that says quot;internet and network paths with hyperlinksquot; (this would be in the autocorrect section, click the autoformat as you type tab)

select print on the document you want printed, go to properties, select rough draft on the top, and select blk cartridge only on bottom, This will enable the printer to print only in black no mater what the colors are.

just highlight the link and right click and undo hyperlink but even if u dont have color ink it shouldnt be a problem it will come out black

htt://answersyour.nhasynchro.com A very informative wezbsite, kindlhtt:/z y stay a minute in website and enter you email address for getting your answer.zz

change the color on your word document or whatever just copy and paste to Word, and change the text color to black

Go to options or preferences and switch to black printing only.

Copy and paste to Microsoft Word. For each hyper link, right click it and choose quot;remove hyperlinkquot; then print.

don t write the http://, just www, then the liky. it won t considered a quot;linkquot; then.

What is the best way to print on CD? Inkjet or Thermal? -

Hi, I need to print black text (maybe images but this isnt so important) onto blank CDs to be of reasonable quality / durability. As I need to print hundreds of copies cost is a major factor. I would like to know the best amp; cheapest way to do this? I am aware of 2 ways. A dedicate thermal printer such as the Primera Signature Z1. or an inkjet printer such as Epsom Stylus R220 which prints to disc. Speed, cost, quality- any ideas? Also, what about the cd disc label stomping? thanks!

Thermal is going to give you the fastest and most inexpensive results, however it may be tough to get labels or CD s that can do a thermal print. Thermal paper is much different than regular paper and often not readily available. If you can get a consistant source of supplies, then defiantly go thermal. The only advantage to ink jet is that supplies are easy to come by. However it is the most time consuming and expensive way to print.

You can print on standard shiny silver cd-rs with a thermal printer, shiny silver discs are cheaper in price than inkjet printable. If you are looking to print hundreds of discs, take a look at the Microboards PF2 or the Primera Bravo II. Report Abuse

get an epson r220 ink tanks are cheap from ukdvd i did and had no problems at all

Thermal would be the best way. With Ink jet your ink smudges more and if a liquid spills on the cover the ink would probably be blurred. The best way of all is print screening, try asking a professional printer in your area!

Go thermal.

Thermal would be the best way. With Ink jet your ink smudges more and if a liquid spills on the cover the ink would probably be blurred

Inkjet.

Where can I recycle remanufactured computer printer ink jet cartridges? -

I have two empty remanufactured printer ink jet cartridges, compatible with a Dell printer. I have been investigating the Internet programs that purchase empty toner cartridges, but all I have come across thus far purchase virgin - and not remanufactured - cartridges. I would sincerely appreciate it if someone could refer me to a program that takes remanufactured cartridges, whether they buy them or take them for free. I am more inclined to reduce landfill waste than make a buck. Thanks!

I don t use remanufactured cartridges or toners but I do take all my empty toners and cartridges to STAPLES Customer Service and in turn Staples gives one a $3 off coupon for each empty. FYI I have seen others bring remanufactured cartridges there as well... Note that quot;some Staples will stamp a time limitationquot; on the $3 off coupon and some will leave it empty but if they do, you may not want to turn in them all one time. Also note that OFFICE DEPOT has a similar program but I think Staples offers more variety of office products... Hope the Above Info Helps!

you can recycle them in beeston town center at a little cartridge shop/refill shop. sorry i dont no the name of it.

How can I scale a document to fit on 24quot;x36quot; paper on Microsoft Word? -

I can t get Microsoft Word to scale a document that I need to print. It won t go past 11quot;x17quot;. Can someone please help me?

I would think your printer would print the A4 page to the size you want as I m assuming you must have a large format printer. You would probably need to set the printer to the page size you want not scale the document in Word. If you do not have a large format printer then it will not matter how you scale it in Word the printer wont be able to print it in one piece if it s a standard A4 printer. If you do not have a wide format printer you will need to access the print a poster function in your print menu, print it in sections and then piece the pieces together to make one whole document.

Word 2003 goes up to 22quot; x 22,quot; but you might be able to download a template from Avery.com for 24x36. PS you must have a sweet printer!
