How do i restore factory settings on my HP dv6000 laptop? -

I want to get rid of a virus that is messing with my computer and the only way i know how is to restore factory settings. I know that i will lose everything but i can get them anytime. I did it before without a cd but i forgot how to so if anyone can help then i d be grateful.

The Restore Disc. Usually you have to make it when you buy the computer, unless it came with one. If you don t have one you will need to order one from the companies website. on start up, one of your function keys should take you to the recovery program, it should be in the manual. F11 I think will start recovery manager according to the HP website. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum…
