Would it be cheaper to get your Ink Cartridges refilled rather than to buy a new one? -

I have an HP photosmart D5360 printer. I print lots of pics and documents so would it be cheaper to just buy a new ink nartridge at Circuit City or should I just get them refilled at the ink shop?

Why go cheap?. It is safer for your printer if you put a NEW cartridge in it. Sometimes saving a few pennies can cost you lots of money. I am not saying refilling is bad, but just to be safe. (printer)

refill is the way to go ...

take a look at the refilling instructions available at www.inkreloaded.com/instructions for help on refilling your cartridge. i always buy my ink their and it matches the original quality ink in my lexmark printer i really give them five stars they even help you out by pressing the live help button if you are a customer.

It depends, if you want to print photos that you keep. It s better for you to stick with genuine cartridge. Reason: No inks in the market can beat the quality of the genuine cartridge. However, if you are just print picture/graphic that soon will be thrown away then refilling is a reasonable option. Once your cartridge refilled, it need to be resetted because the printer remembers that your cartridge was empty. There are procedures to do that but it depends on your cartridge model. I am not sure for your model. You can search in Google with following keyword: - reset ink level [your printer name] - reset ink level [your cartridge number] For sake of convenience, you may consider of remanufactured cartridge, it s already refilled and ready to use. It is cheaper compare to genuine cartridge. Hope this help.

The cheaper option is Refilling. It ll cost you a fraction of what you spent on buying the cartridge.

yes refill it, but asap don t let the cartidge get dry. don t use cartidge world! they only refill half so you comeback to them quickly, any other private shop should be okay remember refill should lasts as long as new. your printer will still warn you about low ink, just ignore it.

How do you work photo ink in a C4140 printer? -

I bought photo ink cartridge today for my C4140 printer and I tried to put it in the color spot in the printer and it wouldn t fit so I tried to put it in the black spot and it fit there. Is that where it is supposed to go? If so then do I need another color cartridge to go in the empty spot?

Hi Lori- You are right- the Photo cartridge goes in the black cartridge space. I m not sure about the color cartridge whether you should remove it or not. I d try to just leave the old color cartridge where it is- it should work fine. If it doesn t work then ya know you need to take it out! Good luck!

What do all the lights fashing on the front of my HP Officejet Pro 5400 mean? -

I have looked in the manual and it says that it means an unrecoverable failure - unplug the printer leave for 20 seconds plug back in. This doesn t do anything. Can anyone lead me to some info about this or a website that has the same problem on?

When you unplug are you unplugging it from the computer or switching it off at the mains. Unplugging it from the computer wont do any thing. You have to switch it off so the buffer RAM can unload it s self. Also sometimes irrespective what it says in the book, multiple lights flashing means that it s usually out of ink or a cartridge is not making contact to the printed circuit pad. Regarding the web site your best place is HP s own

This could be a jammed carriage or as has be said a cartridge fault. If unplugging the main does not work then something is jammed. Have you had a paper jam of late, if so look for a piece of paper stuck somewhere

How can I use my dads printer as my default from another room in the house? -

In my room I have 2wire. He is using a wireless reciever to get connection from me. He has a new laser printer in his room how can I use his as my default printer through wireless?

assuming your running windows xp on both, you first have to set up a home wireless network group, to do this, go to control panel, network setup wizard, this will walk you through the process of creating a network, you have to do this on both computers in order for it to work, it will have you choose a name for the network, ask a few other questions and somewhere in the wizard there is an option to share files and printers. after you ve done this on both computers, you should be able to see his printer in your my network places folder. this will allow you to use his printer, depending on the printer model, you may have to install the drivers off the cd for his printer on your computer

Can I print black with only a color cartridge in? -

I need to print something and it comes in black, but I don t have black ink anymore. Can I print it using my color cartridge? And if so, how do i set my HP Deskjet 3847 to use the color cartridge to print it. I don t care if it does not come out in black. Also, I can t edit what i need to print, so I cant change the color manually. Help?

Under your printer preferences there is a way to print gray scale. SO even if your image is in color, it will print black and white. Every printer interface is different, but when you go to print, there s usually a properties or setting button that will bring you to another page from the initial print menu. here is where you would choose gray scale. If you try for black with only a color cartridge, it ll come out a dark green or blue color. Or on some cases, it will tell you it s out of black and you can t print. Most HP printers need at both cartridges in the printer for it to print.

Your color cartridge doesn t contain any black pigment, Reason being is it draws this from your black cartridge. It will try and mix the colors as close as it can, But it will not be black and if your picky you will notice that it is not even close. Now your black cartridge will draw a small amount of ink from your color cartridge even when printing in only black ink, I would recommend either buying a new black cartridge, Or if this is not a option to go to your local library and print out your document there. As a rule this costs about a dime maybe 15 cents per page, And if this is a document you need to take with you, You can just save it to a USB drive or a CD and boot it up right from that computer at the library.

No it will not print black with only a color installed, it will come out more of a brown.

What is the devise you can use to convert a car battery for using a computer/printer? -

I want to use my computer/printer at fairs, but sometimes they dont have an elect outlet. So what is the device to convert battery voltage to use the computer??

12v to 120v inverter. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d… http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d…

i use an inverter. you see i live in the woods off the grid. so i charge my batteries by generator or through solsr. I covert from dc to ac by using an inverter. the size you need depends how much watt you equipment uses.

Build a 60 Hz Hartley Oscillator and pass that through a current driver. Don t forget to place a fuse on the input.

USB A/C Adapter, that plugs into the cigarette lighter

Yes, a power inverter. Make sure to get one strong enough to poser whatever you re plugging into it. I ve got a 450watt inverter and it works fine for running my laptop and external speakers. I ve not tried adding a printer, but it should handle that too.

Check eBay for low priced inverters. 300W should do.

How do you keep printer paper fresh? -

I would like to know if anyone has found a container for keeping a ream of printer paper clean and dry. Keeping it in its original wrapper doesn t last very long. Your help appreciated.

you put it in a container and dont wave it around to much. and tip: only putas much paper as the pages your gonna print then it will probably be fresher and then you put at least ten pieces of paper back in. hope this helps :]

Try leaving it in a drawer or something and when you need to use it, take it out and put it in the printer =D it keeps it clean and free from dust

If you use a flux capacitor, it will keep for decades.

keep it in the tree until you actually need it :)

keep it in the fridge

lol keeping it in the paper lasts really long for me

ziplock

How do i turn off the ink monitor on my Canon MP620? -

I am using 3rd party cartridges and I plan on looking at the cartridges by eye to see the level. I will hold on to the chips, but I don t really need the original chips to print.

Sometimes just double clicking the notification pop up will take you to the controls for it where you ll find where to click it on or off. Barring that not working, click the start button, scroll down to the canon software that loaded, and open up any setup/configuration type of buttons to see if you can find the one that controls ink notification.

When refilling Canon ink cartridges why do you have to completely seal the black ? -

and the color you only have to replace the sticker?(if there s anything left) like shred it trying to lift it, like l did.

Air bubbles or some such thing is supposed to get in and will cause problems with the ink flow. I have to confess I never seal either my colour or black when I refill them and to date I ve never had a problem. If you do want to seal it just use sticky tape over the hole.

How do I set use notebook paper as printer paper? -

do I have to set my printer up any kind of special way? do I have to press ENTER extra times to get the words to print on the lines right? how do I put the paper in the tray so it will print right? ... is there anything else I need to know?

thats a cute idea. i will try it and find out for you

It s almost impossible to set up a document to print exactly on the pre-printed lines of paper. If you get the spacing right, then there s a good chance the print will be too high or low relative to then as printers have a margin of tolerance for where they print usually of 1-2mm If you absolutely MUST try (can t see why, normal copy paper is cheaper) unless of course you ve been given lines, in which case they WILL know, then you ll need to set up word etc to have a line spacing that matches the line spacing of the paper exactly. Be prepared to use 10 sheets of paper in trial and error before ou even get close.
