I changed my printer recently from a lex to Hp, when i uninstalled the lex another file I need to print was also deleted and I need to know how to get it back so I can spool again and print on my hp, the file is C:\Windows\System32\LEXBCES.EXE Can I download it from anywhere free of charge? Thanks

Boarderless printing is actually a function of the printer unless that is an integrated feature of your printer which singe you are printing on a laser I highly doubt it, you will have to live with the margins. The margins are a barrier, laser printers will not print full bleed as it increases the chances (exponentially) that excess toner debris will get into the fuser.

I would honestly have to tell you that this depends on your interest level. Like the person above me said, if you re interested in printing photos (which i would urge you not to bother with in the first place due to the fact that they will fade out in a very short time and that its more expensive to print these lower quality photos than it is to take them to a store and have them make a higher quality version) then the 7280 is your printer. I had an HP C320. It broke several times. Finally, it got to be more hassel than it was worth. Plus, the ink cartridges were so expensive. I ended up throwing the printer out and buying a print/scan lexmark for $49.99. It ended up being cheaper to buy a new unit with cartridges than it did to replace the other ones. I d do it again in a heartbeat!

Before you buy any printer, check the cartridge prices. HP is usually pricey. Remember, you only buy the printer once, but you will be buying the cartridges over and over. Personally I m partial to Canon printers (for color) and Brother (for laser). Both are very reliable and the cartridges are fairly inexpensive.

There are 3-color printers and 5-color printers. I have been told that 5-color ones produce better photos. Epson and Canon are both good brands but someone who prints photos professionally bought a Canon and had to bring it into the shop twice within a few months. Though this can happen with any brand, with an Epson you get express replacement. They will ship you a replacement Fedex and pick up the old one at their expense. So that alone makes me recommend Epson. I have been using and recommending Epsons for well over ten years. I get ink for my Epsons for under $3 a cartridge at http://ccs-digital.com They work great for me and look fine even for photos on photo paper but I can t guarantee they will last 100 years like Epson claims their ink will. My oldest photos are only about 10 years old and they still look fine. But if I have to reprint them in a number of years I will still have saved a lot of money and I m sure the print quality years from now will be better than it is today.

A Canon. I had a blocked print head in mine and Canon sent me a new one worth about ￡70 ($140) within a few days - the customer services was superb. They did not even ask me to send the blocked one back as proof. As an experiment using a last resort solution I unblocked the first one at a later date and now I have a spare one, but I print loads, and I mean loads, of photos and 8 feet high posters on mine and I have never had the print head block only that once. Mine is physically built to last. This is no flimsy bit of plastic but a printer that s meant to last. Canon are the best printers I have ever had. You can get 8 or even 9 ink systems with Canon if you want to print pictures professionally. They have red and green cartridges as well as photo cyan and magenta and also the standard yellow, cyan, magenta, black/s for a better range of tones. I love my Canon printer, and I have had Lexmark, HP and an Epson - which I would never have again - to compare it to and none was a patch on my Canon. Different printers suit different people. Check that the printer you re using is the same as the default printer in your printers folder (control panel/printers). If it isn t and there is another printer in there that matches your actual printer, right click it, and set it as the default or make sure to choose it when you re printing. If the printer in the printers folder is the same as your actual printer, then shut off the printer (the computer too if you like) and when you restart the printer it should work fine. If you still have a problem, re-install the drivers.

Laser printers have cartridges which last much much longer and are generally more cost effective. This is apparent from the large cost of laser printers. This is in contrast to the cheap cost of ink-jet printers. The affordible price of the ink-jet printer is offset by the incredibly high-price of the inks. In some cases, printers are given away for free with the purchase of genuine ink. To conserve ink: avoid cleaning the print head unless absolutely needed. This means you will get more prints out of your cartridge if you print more often because you will not need to clean as often. However, there is really no way to conserve ink other than to avoid printing. I have used some continuous ink systems with success. These systems have very cheap ink you can buy in bulk. However, these are not genuine ink formulas which means in time the print heads will become clogged. In some cases it can be cheaper to use continual ink systems interchangably with genuine ink whenever the print head needs a thorough cleaning. Inkjet printers get clogged up from over-use, under-use, and poor quality third-party inks. Sometimes the cost to repair exceeds the cost to replace. If you need new ink, buy the right brand, even if it s a bit more. It s cheaper than buying a new printer.

Sounds like out of other colours of ink, or maybe clogged printheads. There should be a printhead cleaning option in the software provided with it which may help.

They have one of their vostro desktop systems on sale for $399 and that includes 19 LCD. If you re on a windows 98 system this would be a great upgrade for you. ***** To the original question though... windows 98 does not support plug and play like 2000 and up do. If you do not already have a driver, you need to goto the HP website and see if they even have a windows 98 driver for that printer. If they do, download and install it.

Download the proper drivers from the manufacturer which is HP. and they even give you printer detection software which detects it for you and gets you the latest drivers.

Ctrl+P prints. You could also right-click and print most of the time. If neither of those works, you can push ctrl-print screen. This copies your screen--paste into a word document and print that.

Why do some printers have two balck cartridges. One thin and other a little fatter? If one runs out, the printer won t work without replacing it. Does not make any sense to me.

You have a canon. One is a pigment (the wider one) use for text. The other is a dye used for photos and graphics. A dye based ink cartridge mixes better with your dye based colour cartridge offering better tones in your final print. The pigmented black is a truer black which results in crisp and dark text printing.
