How do you setup your laptop to print from your PC installed printer? -

I m using Windows XP Professional on my laptop and Windows XP Home Edition on my PC, does this make a difference?

no it does not make a difference assuming you re computers are networked with each other then all you have to do is share the printer over the network, this will allow you re laptop to print to that printer. all you have to do is get on your PC and open up printers and faxes, right click on the printer you want to share and click sharing. if printer sharing is not enabled then it should say something like quot;If you understand the risks but wanna share printers blah blahquot; then just click that link and then select quot;just enable printer sharingquot; then hit ok. you will have a quot;share this printerquot; option box click that and give it a name hit apply/ok and you re laptop should be able to access/print to that printer you just shared

The Windows version makes no difference, however you need to be sure that both computers are networked in some way. check if both are connected by network cable, WiFi or bluetooth. (I believe the easiest way is Network Connection Wizard on both computers) Next, enable File and printer sharing in your PC (Control Panel-gt;Network-gt;File and Printer Sharing Properties) In your laptop, goto Control Panel -gt; Printers -gt; Add new printer click on networked printer, it should find PC s printer

you have to install the printer software on both computers. Then move the printer plug over to the laptop. OR transfer the files to a USB memory stick, and print from the memory stick by plugging it intro the computer with the printer attached. Only problem is that both computers need the same programs installed eg Word or Excel.

You could alays network them together and no it should nt make a diffrence if you want to net. two computers toghter you can either... 1. use a crossover cable and net. them that way use the link to find out more or 2. if its supported use wireless networking.

Doesnt make difference, with your laptop go Start Menu -gt; Settings -gt; Printers , and ADD Printer from Network, search network printers and add it , if you cannot see printers on your network , go your pc and open printer sharing

Go to Control Panel --gt; Printers amp; Faxes --gt; Add Printer --gt; A Network Printer or Printer Attached To Another Computer --gt; Browse for a printer --gt; Select you printer.

Looking for all in one printer with fax and LCD any suggestions? -

Was told Kodak is a good one? Has copy, scan, print and fax.

As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson CX5000 and have had no down time since. The RX595 scanner/copier/printer also prints on DVDs. It uses 5 colors plus black and has even higher photo quality. You can get it at Ritz Camera for $45 after rebate with digital camera. The printer is $130. The cheapest camera is $15 bringing the total to $145. Then there is $100 rebate and free shipping, bringing the final cost to $45. http://www.ritzcamera.com/webapp/wcs/sto… You can get a set of 7 cartridges with an extra black for $32 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp It does not have a fax. I would suggest you sign up to efax.com. You will be able to receive faxes in your email for free and print out the ones you want. There is a small fee for sending faxes but Im sure it s cheaper than a dedicated phone line. If you absolutely must have fax, look at the Epson CX9400fax. It sells for $90-100. It uses 3 colors plus black. You can get a set of 5 with extra black for $25 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp

Can I connect my hp printer to a computer without the installation disk? -

I need to do a bit of work soon, but the place doesn t have a printer, so I thought I might take mine over to them. Not sure I still have my installation disk, will it just pick it up anyway without this? What can I do?

Possibly. When you connect a device to a PC it will search automatically for compatible drivers already installed. If it finds one then it will associate it and tell your quot;Your new hardware is installed and ready to usequot;. If not it will open the New Hardware Wizard and ask you where to search for drivers (CD, floppy, file, etc). It will also ask you if it can go online and search for drivers. This, of course, is the desired result if you don t have a disc. If it cannot connect to the internet then your only other course of action is to download the drivers yourself and install them on the PC you are going to use. HP drivers are free and can be found, for download, here.... http://welcome.hp.com/country/uk/en/supp…

there are some built in drivers in some Os...not at all .but try to connect your device through ur com. the system will prompts Found new hardware. just read and follow screen messages.

What resolution is money printed at? -

I ve always heard that money is printed with super special printing presses. What im wondering is what the resolution (equivalent dpi) of these printers is. Just curious not intending to counterfeit any bills so dont bother posting negative comments.

if ur just curiuos then y ask and not google the answer....its not posted so no 1 will counterfit..it also depends on the country

They use plates and printing presses. Or in other words, virtually infinite resolution since a plate can take any shape. There would be no equivalent DPI since you really can t get that kind of resolution. The government body in question is The Bureau of Engraving and Printing. www.moneyfactory.gov Wiki has a nice article and there is more if you use Google. Somehow I doubt there would be much better information than the BEP themselves. There is quite a bit for classroom use and other information from their pages. Shadow Wolf

The concept doesn t apply. Money is printed from engraved steel plates, prepared by specialists called siderographers, and they use lines, not pixels or anything equivalent.

Be careful experimenting, a lot of the new copiers have anti- counterfeiting systems installed. You get a few warnings then it locks up and requires a factory rep. to unlock it.

Does anyone know why my magenta ink wont print but all the others will? -

I have a brother MFC-5840CN copier, printer, fax, scanner. All of the ink prints except the magenta. I have replaced the ink so I know it isn t that and I have cleaned the print heads 5 times. The magenta will not print at all. It is out of warranty and not sure if it would be worth taking somewhere to have it looked at.

If the ink cartridges have been in the printer for a while, maybe the cartridge is good and just needs some encouragement to begin working again. Obtain a rather moist paper towel and hold against the bottom of the ink cartridge. If ink flows out quickly I would conclude it s not clogged however, if not, keep it their for about 15 min or until you begin to see a flow of ink. :-)

The printhead must be buster. It has to be replaced. Or best buy new printer if the parts cost more. I ve checked their site and doesn t find printhead for your specific model. However you may check it yourself: http://www.brother-usa.com/SiteSearch.as…

Why does my printer keep telling me to replace the cartridge when I already did? -

I have replaced the cartridge, and even checked the ink level. It says that it is full. Then when I try to print, it tells me to replace the cartridge or print using black ink only. All colors are full or near full! And yes, I have checked, they are installed correctly.

Print a test page and align the cartridge with it. That should solve the problem.

Your Cartridge is not properly aligned

it must be haunted, ooooo

i don t know sry

I need to set up the copier as part of my Computer Network and use the advanced features of Print, Copy, Scan and Fax. Thanks

Why does my Compaq IJ600 printer print out my documents blank? -

I have two reports due for tomorrow and my printer doesn t want to print out my documents! They come out blank! Is my ink cartridge empty? How do I know if it s empty? What s wrong with my printer!? Please help!

You print a test page, here s how: http://www.fixya.com/support/p355909-com… Most likely your ink is dry or empty. For a quick fix try to clean the ink cartridges with a slightly wet paper tissue. Run the tissue over the print head a few times and wipe it dry. Then try printing the test page again.

Can you hook up two computers to one printer? -

I have two computers on my desk at home, but only one printer. Is it possible to hook both of the computers to the same printer?

If the printer is usb, then you can use a usb hub. The other option is a print server hooked to the printer and install it on your network.

go into the printer properties. and share the printer. this will allow you to choose a name. now the two computer have to be on the same network. so assuming you have dsl or boadban and are running through a home network. just add the printer to the next computer and user network option and it will find the shared printer. install the driver and you have one printer through two computers. Note the main computer that is sharing must be on.

Yes it is possible and easy to do also. There are a number of different ways it can be done from a parallel switch, usb hub, to a network/sharing solution. I can walk you through all the above if you tell me which you will be using.

yes, you can share it through a newwork here is a tutorial for windows http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using…

You can connect the two computers on a network, but to know how to do it, you will have to ask that as a different question. Still leaves another question, how do you physically connect one printer to two computers. The printer has only one input connector. If the printer is USB, then a USB hub will do, but if it is Parallel, then you need a switch and two additional cables (25Pin quot;Dquot; extension). Once you find out for sure what you need, you can buy for the lowest price at CableWholsale.com. Doing it this way, you don t have to have the second computer on, to send data to the printer, if the printer is connected to the first one only.

ya sure u can either connect printer thorugh network or u can buy a Mini USB Print Server .. which will combine wires frm computer to a single printer .

What do you think is wrong with my printer? -

My printer is really acting up. When I try to print something, it will not print. It always did before. I know that I have ink and I have paper. It makes the noise that the cartlidge moved over but it still will not print anything. What do you think is wrong?

move usb cable in other usb port. go to start - control panel -printer and faxes -right click with your printer -uninstal (if you have a cd for your printer).go out usb cable for your printer and reinstal the driver (for printer).conect usb cable ,ctrl +P -print test page. that s all. good luck !

It sounds like a bad track inside the printer. There is a belt inside the printer that moves the cartridge to rpint stuff. On some printers when you open the top the cartridge would move itslef into view so you can change the cartridge. Does your printer do this? If not it could be a bad belt. It isn t worth fixing. i say just sell the printer on Ebay and by a new one.

Which laser color printer is best for printing full color invitations? -

Since I m barely getting started I am looking for an affordable printer, but one with good quality. I also would like to find one that prints to the edge of the paper.

laser printers will not print to the edge of the paper. Full bleed printing is just not possible with a laser printer, you will need to cut down. Generally Quality is going to all be the same, the biggest difference is in speed and running cost. I have found that brother currently has one of the most reasonable running cost unless you get into a heavy duty HP (7000K + pages per cartridge)

if i rember correctly the phaser printer by xerox/techtronics can print the whole page. long ago printers couldn t do this because they used pinch rollers to move the paper but now they use vacuum to hold the paper down. so don t listen to people who dont really know laser printers.....good luck ....
