How do you setup your laptop to print from your PC installed printer? -

I m using Windows XP Professional on my laptop and Windows XP Home Edition on my PC, does this make a difference?

no it does not make a difference assuming you re computers are networked with each other then all you have to do is share the printer over the network, this will allow you re laptop to print to that printer. all you have to do is get on your PC and open up printers and faxes, right click on the printer you want to share and click sharing. if printer sharing is not enabled then it should say something like quot;If you understand the risks but wanna share printers blah blahquot; then just click that link and then select quot;just enable printer sharingquot; then hit ok. you will have a quot;share this printerquot; option box click that and give it a name hit apply/ok and you re laptop should be able to access/print to that printer you just shared

The Windows version makes no difference, however you need to be sure that both computers are networked in some way. check if both are connected by network cable, WiFi or bluetooth. (I believe the easiest way is Network Connection Wizard on both computers) Next, enable File and printer sharing in your PC (Control Panel-gt;Network-gt;File and Printer Sharing Properties) In your laptop, goto Control Panel -gt; Printers -gt; Add new printer click on networked printer, it should find PC s printer

you have to install the printer software on both computers. Then move the printer plug over to the laptop. OR transfer the files to a USB memory stick, and print from the memory stick by plugging it intro the computer with the printer attached. Only problem is that both computers need the same programs installed eg Word or Excel.

You could alays network them together and no it should nt make a diffrence if you want to net. two computers toghter you can either... 1. use a crossover cable and net. them that way use the link to find out more or 2. if its supported use wireless networking.

Doesnt make difference, with your laptop go Start Menu -gt; Settings -gt; Printers , and ADD Printer from Network, search network printers and add it , if you cannot see printers on your network , go your pc and open printer sharing

Go to Control Panel --gt; Printers amp; Faxes --gt; Add Printer --gt; A Network Printer or Printer Attached To Another Computer --gt; Browse for a printer --gt; Select you printer.
