How do I refill my ink cartridge? -

I bought the inc and all the stuff to refill cartridge for my printer but now I am not sure how to do it. Its a HP Photosmart C3100 series printer, HP Black Print Cartridge 92. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

u can refill it and there are many videos on youtube that teach u how here is 1 of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayschOFzwP4

Two problems Printer manufacturer s don t want you refilling their cartridges so they make it as difficult as possible Even if you manage it, the printer is unable to detect the amount of ink in the refilled cartridge so you might well run out of ink unexpectedly

How do you get labels to print vertically? -

I am using a Casio KL-60 Label Maker and went throught the directions and found nothing...

If you are using regular address labels they will print automatically vertically at the same time that they print horizontally. They print left to right, for each line to they have continued through out the whole page from top to bottom.

when u hit the print option on ur computer, go on to printer options and adjust it there.

Whats the best all in one printer that can print photos with good quality? -

I want a scanner, a printer that can print text in black(mostly) and ocassionally photo with good quality, yet still affordable and economical ink usage (no need to be so excellent, but at least not very grainy). Thanks

HP ... They re good, pictures are good! You can find it in Walmart or Target

i like HP

I can tell you that LExmark is NOT good. I have unfortuneately owned three Lexmark All in Ones and since day one the paper does not even go in straight, causing crooked pictures and now my main one doe snotprint colors right, I try to print black text from Word and I get pink lines through the words. Lexmark is junk. Customer service sucks too, you have to pay money for the software for scanning and copying if you lose the CD, but print drivers are online.

The Brother MFC series all in ones are great and I ve owned HP s and Canon products, but the Quality of the Brother series outshines them by far. You can get a MFC-210 for under a hundred dollars at BJ s or Costco. I currently own a cyber cafe and use two for all my copy/fax/scan/ printing needs with excellent results.

the best printer w/o scanner is the Canon Pixma IP4200. for great text and photos printer plus scanner look in the Canon line.

epson why because the ink cart cost less and you can find them everywhere

How long do ink cartridges last when used daily? -

I print newsletters that DON T have plain white backgrounds, and have a lot of pictures, how long will this last for?

It depends on what ink you are using. Tricolour will go quicker as once one colour is out the cartridge needs replacing, Single colours are more economical but still cost. I also print such items and I have a 5 ink system and I can change some colours twice a day when printing with picture backgrounds. Last week I went through 7 cartridges in one day - I swear. I have a chip re-setter and exact colour match ink for my printer so it cost me only about half the price of one cartridge to refill them all but if you have to buy new ones it will cost you hundreds to do hundreds.

How much are you printing? 10 s, 100 s, 1000 s??? How much text/pictures/backgrounds are you using...? It s totally subjective and can even depend on the type of paper you re using. Is your background one colour? Ie: if you have a yellow background obviously you re going to use much more yellow ink than anything else. You really won t know until you do a few test runs... If you find you re running through ink at a rate of knots, invest in a more economical printer. Best one on the market at the moment for colour economy is the HP OfficeJet Pro L7590. It retails for approx $399-$399 AUD and offers the best economy of any printer on the market! Good luck!

The average ink cartridge will only yield 250-500 pages. If you are printing a lot of pictures, the yield could even be smaller than that. It really depends on the kind of printer you are using however.

Can you help me find a large format printer? -

Does anybody know where I might be able to find a large format printer ( 24quot; and higher) that does 8quot; borderless prints off of roll media? I ve been searching Canon and Epson but maybe I am missing something.

How long does an Epson ink cartridge last? -

My son gave me an Epson all-in-one for Christmas but I already have an older HP. Because ink is expensive I don t know if I should keep the old one or use the new one. I don t print a lot of pictures but the Epson has 4 cartridges compared to the HP which has only 2. I have a feeling it s 6 of one -half a dozen of the other. I don t have a lot of experience with computers or printers so if anyone has knowledge of both brands anything you can tell me about Epson printers compared to HP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I ve had my Epson printer for 9 months and replaced the black cartridge once. I have yet to replace any of the color cartridges and I print less than 5 pages a week.

Depends of the quality of the print But usually not very long...and they are very expensive. You shouldn t try to print all your pictures with it, it s cheaper to go to wal mart or walgreen and get them developped there. Also sometimes you may want to print in black and white to avoid wasting a lot of colors ink.

Can I print postage offline for a 5x7 bubble envelope anywhere? -

I need to mail a 5x7 bubble envelope tomorrow and I can t get to the post office.

Any attempt to do so will be illegal. The electronic scanners of the post office sorting machine will identify these and can charge you with fraud. Also charge you double the true rate for the package, although they probably will not deliver it, they will hold it as evidence..

How do I connect my Sony Vaio to my HP printer? -

I ve lost the cd so is there any other way to connect it, or get a cd? I dont have a usb cable. Its a wireless printer. Thank youu!!

Always helpful to know which HP printer we are dealing with. Download the drivers from HP s website and check out the manual on their website for setup instructions for setting it up wirelessly.

You can get the printer drivers off of the HP web site. As for hooking it up wirelessly. The HP web site does have online manuel s that should help you to configure the wireless connection.

You ll neede the cd because that contains the drivers. you might be able to download a copy of the cd s contents.

Who invented the printer and where can I find some information on him? -

If possible can you list more then one website where I can find a LOT of information.

Printers In 1953, the first high-speed printer was developed by Remington-Rand for use on the Univac computer. In 1938, Chester Carlson invented a dry printing process called electrophotography commonly called a Xerox, the foundation technology for laser printers to come. The original laser printer called EARS was developed at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center beginning in 1969 and completed in November, 1971. Xerox Engineer, Gary Starkweather adapted Xerox copier technology adding a laser beam to it to come up with the laser printer. According to Xerox, quot; The Xerox 9700 Electronic Printing System, the first xerographic laser printer product, was released in 1977. The 9700, a direct descendent from the original PARC quot;EARSquot; printer which pioneered in laser scanning optics, character generation electronics, and page-formatting software, was the first product on the market to be enabled by PARC research.quot; According to IBM, quot;the very first IBM 3800 was installed in the central accounting office at F. W. Woolworth’s North American data center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1976.quot; The IBM 3800 Printing System was the industry’s first high-speed, laser printer. A laser printer that operated at speeds of more than 100 impressions-per-minute. It was the first printer to combine laser technology and electrophotography according to IBM. In 1992, Hewlett-Packard released the popular LaserJet 4, the first 600 by 600 dots per inch resolution laser printer. In 1976, the inkjet printer was invented, but it took until 1988 for the inkjet to become a home consumer item with Hewlett-Parkard s release of the DeskJet inkjet printer, priced at a whopping $1000.

Well that depends upon what kind of printer. There are 4 different forms of printer. there is deflection, pizoelectric, thermal inkjet, thermal, and laser. http://www.howstuffworks.com/ has a lot of information on how they work as well as the various forms of printers. From there you can just go to wikipedia.

The first computer printer was invested by Sir Charles Epson in around 1893.

Charles Carlson was the first.

Why do I have to manually push the button on my HP 1012 printer before it will print from Wordperfect?quot;? -

I can print items that are online just fine but when I am working in wordperfect, I have to push a button on my printer before it will print. Also it will not print labels properly.

Sounds like you have an older printer. You may find out the the maker of the printer may have updated firmware on their support website. Would be a good idea to download the latest driver/software for your printer as well.

How can I print something on my screen if it wont let me? -

Basically, I tried print screen and the software won t let me print anything or copy and paste it. Am I just out of luck? Thanks!

Step1 Open the document that you want to screen print. For documents that do not fit into the window you are looking at, use the arrows at the side and bottom of your screen to move the desired image into view. Step2 Size the screen of the document or page you are viewing by using the zoom function. You can either zoom to a smaller number in order to get the whole image into view, or you can get multiple screen prints of the image and bring them together in your new document. Step3 Press the quot;Print Screenquot; button on your keyboard, which can sometimes be displayed differently but is always some sort of shortened version of those words, such as quot;PrtSc.quot; It may also be necessary to first hit the quot;Functionquot; or quot;Fnquot; key. Step4 Copy the image using the quot;Copyquot; selection of the quot;Editquot; menu or the keyboard shortcut of holding down the quot;Ctrlquot; and quot;Cquot; keys. Step5 Open the document you are pasting the image into. This can be anything on your computer such as an email, Word document or presentation.

If you are using Vista use the Snipping Tool to get a screen capture. Otherwise a print screen should work. Once you press print screen you then have to paste it into an imaging program of some sort--like photoshop.

you have to press Ctrl AND Print Screen buttons down together in order to do a screen shot. that should always work. then go into your document and paste it.

What would be a great printer to consider purchasing anything other than by quot;canonquot;? -

Ink is priced so expensive to replace, and refills are impossible with some printers, and some have computer chips on some ink tanks making refill impossible or problematic. The bubble jet printers were great...but so far I ve only come up with going to multifunctional by quot;brotherquot; printer/scanner/fax machine. I enjoy printing photographs mostly, but do require office printing for letters as well and XP is a requirement.

The two cheapest companies by cost of ink are usually Canon and Epson. So if you don t like Canon, check out Epson. They are great for office stuff, and I ve had no problems using knock-off cartridges you can buy for a fraction of a price online. I don t do a whole lot of photo printing though, so for that you may want to use genuine cartridges. Still I find that these two are usually the cheapest. So I d find an Epson with the features you need, then check the prices for cartridges online, and if they re reasonable, go with that.

I think HP is pretty good. But generally most ink cartridges are expensive. Or, you can get a laserjet printer. You ll find they use them in most offices, but they do sell personal and cheaper ones. Search for some on Amazon. They are more expensive but they don t use ink, they use toners instead. One toner can print about a thousand something pages? So you ll save money on ink in the long run (if you print a lot). However, these toners are mainly for documents and not good quality photos. And colour laserjet printers are even pricier. I have one and it s great when it comes to printing out notes and stuff from school. I guess you should look an Amazon for these and if you don t think you ll benefit from laserjet printers, get a HP.

I have a Hewlett Packard 4-in-1 that have worked for ages (i mean, 6 years) and still like the first day! I trust in this brand printers, all have been long working and ink savers.

The HP AlI-In-One printers are pretty good and almost every office supply store carries their ink cartridges.

I have KODAK 4 in one. I love it. very versatile. Good pictures. Ink is reasonable

As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson CX5000 and have had no down time since. The C120 (printer only - no scanner) is on sale at Ritz Camera free after rebate but you must also buy a digital camera. The cheapest is $15. With $7 shipping you pay $22 for printer and camera. It uses 3 colors and 2 of the SAME black cartridge. http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/55740… A set of 5 cartridges are $23 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp The RX595 scanner/copier/printer also prints on DVDs. It uses 5 colors plus black and has even higher photo quality. You can get it at Ritz Camera for $45 after rebate with digital camera. The printer is $130. The cheapest camera is $15 bringing the total to $145. Then there is $100 rebate and free shipping, bringing the final cost to $45. http://www.ritzcamera.com/webapp/wcs/sto… A set of 7 cartridges (1 extra black) is $30 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp

Where can I get some ultra thin glossy paper? -

Like you see on food can labels, or the ads you get in the mail.

Staples, Office Max, any stationary store.

it is called everyday photo paper. Just look for a 20lb glossy stock paper.

Find an underfunded government organisation and look in their bathroom. There should be rolls of the stuff. Thin, shiny and non absorbent.

office depot or wallmart

Stationary stores and most places that specialize in papers. Such as papermills or places that target manufacturers or businesses. Good Luck
