Is it cheaper to send my pictures to be printed, or use a printer? -
Depends on the printer, the ink, and the photo processor. Have you looked into online services like snapfish.com? They can sometimes be cheaper than CVS (and they run free specials). You can get the cost per printout from the printer manufacturer...some have that cost advertised at the point of sale. It s usually very similar to the cost of regular photo processing. However, if you use your existing printer (assuming you have a nice color printer) and you refill the ink cartridges yourself (it can be slightly messy until you get the hang of it, but it isn t hard), the cost per print can be very affordable. (Though, on most of the newer printers you have to find a way to trick your computer/printer to let you refill the ink yourself. This can be a pain. On older models, this was not a problem.)
just a fraction cheaper but cheaper
