How do i connect an older printer to my laptop? -

i have a hp printer that is a few years old and it has a roundish plug that my laptop doest have. is it possible to still use this printer with my laptop? perhaps a usb adapeter or something?

Is it long and have a lot of pins holes? if it does its either a parallel port or possibly a SCSI printer. You will have to look as it should be marked. If its a parallel it should be easy to find someone with a port and they could use it. And no you cannot change a serial USB to parallel, sorry.

is the roundish plug that you talking about round on top and has three sides that are straight? if so, then all you need is a usb printer cable - one end will have a plug that will fit in the printer and the other end will into a usb port. They are about $10 to $15 dollars at any Staples, OfficeMax, Best Buy, or Wal-Mart.

If you supply us with the model of the printer it may help
