How do I keep my ink cartdridge from drying up? -

I hardly ever use my printer but when I need to the ink has dried up. What can I do?

You can t really avoid this problem since printers were designed to be used frequently. What you could do, which I have done, is to put some rubbing alcohol on cotton balls and rub it on the area of the cartridge which shoots out the ink. Change the cotton balls for every cartridge.

Wow, Use it periodically even when you don`t need to. Keep it full also. -S

well, you have to understand the printer companies make a lot of money selling ink. they are not going to make it so the ink wont dry up. i use my printer a lot, and i still have to clean the print heads way too often. i really dont think you can get away from dry ink. use it as often as you can, just to use it and keep the ink from drying.

Whats the best type of HP printer for home-based graphic design business? -

I m starting my own home-based graphic design business and just purchased a HP officejet Pro L7780 and found it hard to meet my requirement. 1. Wireless - I have to reconnect it about every two weeks. WHY? 2. Borderless - it expended my design layout when I ask to print borderless. WHY? 3. It smudged my print when I was printing brochure (3 times, wasted my ink) Now since I purchased this printer online from HP about 3 months ago already and not sure if HP will refund my money, I probably have to do an exchange. Any suggestion on my next printer? Laser? Inkjet? What model is better? I do brochures, post cards, flyers and invitations.

Laser printers are usually the best as far as that goes. Take a look into the HP 2600n. This printer is not wireless, but it does have built-in networking. To makes this printer wireless, all you would have to do is plug the printer into the ethernet port of your wireless router. Documents and brochures that are printer on a laser printer are largely smudge resistant. Also, the overall text quality will be better. HP is still a great choice for office. 50% of all printers sold are HP. It s just a matter of finding the right one for you.

HP printers are terrible. Your problems are what every HP printer owner goes through. I hooked up a brand-new, very expensive HP printer for someone, and it was jamming already. My recommendation, based on how much you want to spend, is the Canon Pixma Pro9000 or 9500 or, if you don t want to spend that much, then go with any other Canon inkjet model. Because the quality of the print is essential to your business, I think you could justify spending the money on the Canon Pro models, as they are specifically designed for this sort of thing. And, if HP won t refund your money right away, haggle with them, because no matter what HP printer you get, you ll get the same results. In response to the answer below, laser printer are more expensive for the same quality on an inkjet, and lasers have a different look to them when things are printed. Inkjets have a more natural print output. Also, the reason HPs are popular is the same reason their computers are popular - many people do not have much knowledge about computers, and just go with whatever brand they ve heard of.

What is the most cost effective printer? -

I do not need to print in color, I don t need something that faxes/copies/etc., I don t want to spend a ton on the printer itself and I REALLY don t want to pay for the printer 10 times over in the cost of print cartridges every month. I know that ink/toner is expensive and to a certain extent theres no getting around that but what printer has good efficiency of use on toner and lower cost catridges? I m thinking about a laser printer but I don t know how expensive they are to maintain. Thanks!

Try looking at the HP Laserjet 1018 series. It cost 129.99 and has a 30.00 instant rebate making it $99.99. They are quick little guys and rated at 3000 pages per month. The cartridges are easily available in remanufactured for about 40.00. The yield on the cartridge is about 2,000 pages black and white based on 5% coverage. I have posted a link below to HP s site that will take you right to the product page but just in case it doesn t work, go to www.hp.com and then do a search for buy LJ1018.

The Dell 3000cn is an excellent laser printer, although it is a color printer and quite large. However, it costs not much more than a black-and-white printer, handles paper very well and has been surprisingly economical. Both color and black-and-white prints are very good. Toner cartridges cost around $65 and last for a l-o-n-g time. Really, I recommend it if you have the space.

laser printers use alot of power Just get yourself an inkjet

just buy any model of entry level of canon or hp laserket , it will help you a lot it is a very cost efficeint laser machine than any brand of laser and less maitinance expense on these machine

xerox 3117

The HP ink laser printer I recommend. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/… The laser will probably be better over an ink jet for you and what you need. I recommend a Richo too, they also have a great track record, you can find them at Staples or various other sites. They are both your straight forward black and white printers. http://www.ricoh-usa.com/products/catego…

How many color pages can i print with one cartridge of HP ink? -

I m trying to figure out how many pages i can print untill the color ink runs out... does any one have any estimates? I have an HP officejet 6110xi. i always use the highest quality setting... I m trying to print CD labels

This is going to be based on the page coverage. Obviously you are going to use more blue ink if your page has a blue background than a couple of words in a small font printed in blue.

682 given average use

How do I get my HP Deskjet 932c to print? It is only printing symbols, maybe a test line.. Please help!? -

My computer recognizes it as a driver, shows no error and i have no software to do a reinstall. Trying to print easter pages for my child.

Sounds like a drivers issue, get the correct ones directly from HP for the correct OS and update them in your device manager.

Download and use the drivers provided by HP on their website.

How do you print duplex on a printer? -

Its epson, i know you can do it but i cant remember how. (duplex is when you can print things double sided)

It depends on 2 things: Your printer has be able to print duplex. And you need a printer driver to send the duplex printing command to your printer. You should have installed your printer s correct driver either from an included CD or download it from Epson s web site. Assuming you ve got both set up correctly, when you start up a Print command from an application, go to the Printer Properties. These Properties settings are different depending on the printer driver. I don t know about Epson drivers, but I know in HP, there s a quot;Finishquot; tab where you can set it to duplex printer. So just go through your Printer Properties until you see a duplex setting.

YAY 2 POINTS FOR ME!!

How do I print on different sized papers? -

I wish to print my own photo cards but am having trouble getting the printer to print on different sizes to the limited default ones.

use the custom option. Once you give the print command gt;gt; choose custom gt;gt; from the the paper size menu. Use a scale to measure your printing paper and set these dimensions. Hope this helps. reference http://gateway2internet.com

your printer will have what sizes it takes in it setup(advanced), if you want odd size paper set it to quot;size to fitquot; if the paper feeds through your printer it should work

What do you do when your fax machine picks up your home phone calls? -

i have one line for my fax and phone. However my fax s last four digits are different. Anyway if i set my fax on the fifth ring some people cannot send me a fax so i set it on 3rd ring. The problem this poses is that after the third ring you hear the fax pick up with an annoying screeching.I have tried line splitters and many other things. PLEASE HELP! Thanks Sammy

You must set your answering machine to pick up at 4 rings. Then set your fax to pick up at 5th ring or later. It should be able to detect voice or fax on line. Hope that helps.

You should use distinctive ring - DRD because you have a different number for your faxmachine (are you sure about that ?). I don t see why if you set the fax to answer after 5 rings some people can t send to you faxes (like your fax is not answering after 5 rings??) but same people can send if you set your faxmachine to answer after 3 rings ...doesn t make sense...your fax should give a fax tone and look for a fax tone from the other end after how many ring you set it. Try to connect your phone using the phone extension jack from your faxmachine if has one.

Actualy there isn t much u can do. Because I also have a fax on the same number, but I haven t had the problem of fax not coming in when it is set on 5 rings. Maybe you can try to tell the people that are faxing you, to call and tell first. So then you know you are about to receive a fax and manualy set receive. I used to do that in the past, when I was receiving fax from The Netherlands. And then you can leave the fax at 5 rings.

If the fax number is different than your home phone, how can it still work on the same line? Use two lines; one for a fax (dedicated number/line) and one for your home phone. This way, you can fax all day long and it won t interfere with your phone conversations. Or go through your computer to do all the faxing or do your phone calls through the computer. I have skype, and a home phone, so actually I have two phone lines. And I can efax through my computer. I never have issues this way.

You either have to have a separate phone line for you fax, or you can get a distinctive ring for about 6.00 a month from your phone company, and that will work, read your manual for your fax it will tell you how to set it up.

When you hear the fax sound, usually dial 1,2,3 and it will go to the printer.

Any tips on getting digital pictures to print better on a regular printer? -

I have an Epson printer that has picture settings.

make sure u got a picture paper. and before to print go to print properties and increase the quality 100% message me if u need more help...

Use the best photo paper available. Don t just use plain copier paper.

Regular printers will not come close to the quality of store-prints or those done by photo printers, but there are a few things you can do to improve quality. Select a glossy photo-stock paper, and configure your printer settings to print on a glossy paper. In addition, set print quality to the highest setting, and hope for the best.

You might make sure that the ink you are using is for photos and that you are using Epson paper in the printer. The ink and paper are designed to work best when used together.

It s all in the paper. First you want to make sure that you printer is printing well however, run a print head cleaning. If the diagnostic page looks good then you are ready to roll. For best results, you will want to use an epson premium photo paper. Paper makes a huge difference. ink absorbs differently with different papers, so using one that is designed for your printer will definitely yield the best results.

also make sure that the quality on your digicam is set to its highest resolution.

How do you remove a paper jammed in a HP Laserjet 500n printer? -

I recently got a paper stucked onto the rear door of our printer(HP laser jet 5000N). I couldn t pull out the paper because only a minimal portion of it is peeking out.is there anyway I could yank it out without opening up the entire printer? please help!

Depends on what you mean by back. Typically, on the 5000 series printers, paper will get lodged in the fuser - the item that fuses the toner to the paper, and is really hot (be careful!) The nice thing with these printers is they come apart in units. And they are pretty durable so that you don t have to worry about breaking somthing. To remove the fuser, unsnap the rear panel, and you should see either 2 blue latches with arrows on them or two tall screws holding the fuser in. Remove the fuser and carefully pull the paper out. What you may notice on the fuser (causing the jamming) is a separator finger or wheel that is crooked or bent out of shape or a build up of gunk on one of the big fuser rollers. When cleaning a fuser roller, make sure that it cools down, and DO NOT SCRAPE IT with somthing hard or sharp, it will damage it. Your fingernail should work. Otherwise, you can see the schematics of how to take your printer apart using http://partsurfer.hp.com select your country, type in your model (LJ5000n) and hit go. After your select your model number, you will see a screen with an interactive parts diagram. Good Luck.

Does someone knows the email for samsung printer cartridges? -

I need to get the email for samsung printer cartridge manufacturer, supplier or wholsaler. I hate to see my workplace throwing them away. It is a damage to the environment. We need an agent in Jamaica or train some place to rebuild them here. I am now saving them until I can have samsung get them here, I hope.

Contact trade associations or to get offers from suppliers and manufacturers of cartridges, send an email with your requirement to buy@epog.org

I have a Dell laptop and printer. How can I printout an email draft and only get the body of the letter print -

I have done this but I don t actually know how this is done.

right click and highlight the text you want to print. When you do go to print you should have an option to print all, print pages, or print selection. Choose printer selection.

Copy/paste the body of the email into a Word or notepad document. Then you can print this. Plus you could email just the copy/pasted part with the same Microsoft Word document.

My epson photo 870 suddenly The carriage will not return all the way to home position. it stops and buzzes? -

it has been working fine until 3 days ago, when this happened.

Remove the ink cartridges, clean the stainless shiny rod with a piece of tissue paper. re-install ink cartridges, close cover properly and try it out. This works at times. Good luck.

How do I get my printer to stop printing out a test page before every single thing I print out?? -

It is such a waste of paper, so I want to prevent the printer from automatically printing a test page before each thing I print. How do I stop it from doing this please?

Shut down and Re-install it.

Is it really a Windows test page, or is it a separator page to separate print jobs (possibly with info about what is printed)? If you are using a network printer or print server, it might be set to print a separator page for each print job, so you can tell where each batch of printing (from potentially different people) starts/stops. If it is something done by your printer driver, you have to disable it there. The only thing I can find in a standard print driver that might cause a quot;Separator Pagequot; is that setting in the Advanced tab of the printer Properties.

First make sure you check the pop up box that will make the printing page to be single copy if you want, then make sure before shutting down the computer, the papers or data that will be printed should be completed; also don t shut the computer and printer without completing all of it, this can cause malfunction with the printer; if not so check the status of the printer or call the customer service of the printer s brand. They can help to refix the problem with it. I hope it will help you!^__^

How much can I print on one Lexmark #2 ink cartridge? -

Just ike it says. I want to take free photo s for Halloween for the neighborhood inside my business, but I want to know how much ink I might use?

Up to 215 pages. But if you are printing high-res pictures, then you can get about 60 pics with one new cartridge.

Does anyone know what to do when the printer for the computer keeps saying? -

That the ink catridge is missing, and there are two ink cartridges in there that have worked before but not now.

the ink cartridge is out, or is the wrong type. it also could not be inserted properly. my suggestion would be to get a new set of ink cartridges.
