Why is my hp23 colour cartridge only printing magenta? -

Just installed a new!! hp23 colour cartridge but it only printing magenta. It is out of date but unused. Any help much appreciated.

IT has expired. The ink will dry and separate inside a sealed cartridge.

Check your printing settings--if the cartridge is new then it could be color management Report Abuse

The cartridge has some ink jets that are dry from being dated. The ink inside may still be good. Use a qtip and some rubbing alcohol ever so lightly and clean the dispensing area. You will be able to remove the dry crusted ink and save your cartridge.

Cyan, magenta, black and yellow are the only colors used. You might need the other 3 colors for full color process printing.

Another thing to try: The ink may have dried out at the orifices. Take a damp / wet paper towel and wipe / scrub the place where the ink comes out of.
