How do i properly use a line printer spacing chart for printing a heading in java? -

If your question ask how to create a simple line in java that will be displayed in the system window, the code is: System.out.println(quot;Type your heading in herequot;); plus your going to need to set up your class and main method to actually print that line of code but I m going to assume you know that. Note: You may want to use a java forum as yahoo answers is not always the best source for java programming, i recommend: http://forum.java.sun.com/ If this answer does not answer your question please provide additional details to your question. -I hope this helps

Can barcodes be printed using a regular laser printer, or do I need to buy a specific type of printer for them -

I dont want to invest in buying a new specific printer for barcodes (which will have no other use except for printing barcodes). Is there a way to print them using my regular laser printer?

Barcodes can be printed by any printer... thermal, thermal ribbon, laser, inkjet, even old-fashioned dot-matrix. (I used to run a small printshop that prints LOTS and LOTS of barcodes) However, just make sure you get the right software to print the right barcode. Some barcodes have special requirements like spacing and such. The only exception, you can call it an exception, are checks. Checks require use of special magnetic toner (it s called MICR technology). However, that s not really quot;barcodesquot;.

When I print out boarding passes and tickets for airline flights ,they have barcodes. I print them straight off my home printer..Epsom DX 4400. They are acceptable to airport security all over the world...including the USA. I not sure what use you have in mind for yours though. I should imagine that the barcode reader would need to know what the bars represent though. Product code...price code etc. I would assume that the barcodes on my flight tickets would relate to .. Date of flight...Time of Flight...Destination..etc.

I use Bar Code Pro By Veribar and print bar codes all the time.

i would think you cannot print barcodes on a regular printer, they are for retail purposes only.why would you want to print them yourself???

Absolutely. Universal Barcodes are meant to be easily printed and read. The main benefit of getting a printer especially for barcodes is that it may be easier to do things like print them on stickers. However, with a little effort even stickers can be done on your standard laser printer. I m fairly certain that barcode scanners are sufficiently advanced enough as to read from even a dot matrix printer (don t quote me on that though).

Yes. Bar codes can be pretty much anything that is black and white. A laser printer should work just fine.

What do I have to do to print an entire email? -

When I try to print an email, first of all the fonts are extremely small and it only prints the heading and a few lines of the message. I used a larger font, but it only appears if I send an email.

Are you trying to print from a preview pane of the message perhaps. If so, try double-clicking the message to open it in a new window amp; printing from there instead. Hope it helps.

copy/paste it to word... then you can change the fonts/ headers to fit the page.... then print that.

How to set up a printer as a networking printer? -

I have two printers, both don t have build-in eternet plug, how can I set them up as networking printer.

There are a few ways depending on how big your network is and how it is setup. One way is to attach them to a computer on the network and enable printer sharing. Another way is to use a network print server. It s just a small box with a Ethernet plug for the network connection and a USB port or two for the printers. You can also get the functionality built into some network switches.

It has to be connected to a server computer for it to work via serial. once you give the server a network address, you can go from there.

How do I set up a printer on a Dell Inspiron computer? -

I want to hook it up to a Hewlett Packard HP Photosmart C5180. However, the computer keeps saying quot;Windows cannot open the Add Printer. The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine.quot; I think I may have accidentally uninstalled it.

1. Reboot the computer. Put in the CD that came with the printer and follow the screen. 2. If this printer is an older printer (you had it before you got your Dell) then you will want to make sure you have the correct drivers (for the correct OS (XP, Vista, etc). Link to the drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw… 3. It will have you plug the USB cable in during the install, so do not add before that. If you are running Vista, the wizard will come up and you will just need to point the Add New Hardware wizard to the area you downloaded the drivers or the CD that has the drivers on it.

How do you get the mfc 3240C brother printer to bypass the message saying that cyan out? -

My black ink ran out so I replaced it and then immediately the cyan in was empty but as I look at it is 1/2 full. This same thing happened the last time I had to replace the black ink. That time the cyan was maybe 1/4 out but I went ahead and bought new colored ink cartriges.

Brother printers read the ink level optically, and are therefor fairly accurate. There is no way around this warning message unless you want to do serious damage to your printer. A small amount of ink is require to keep the print head primed at all times, if the printer in unable to do that it shuts down. The priming ink acts as a coolant, with out it you run the risk of warping your print head or fusing it shut. Either scenario results in greatly reduced print quality. If you do really want to destroy your printer you can place a small piece of black electrical tape over the reservoir window and re-install.

I have one of these machines and I ve never found a way around it. To me the cartridges always look like they still have ink in them even though it says they are empty. I did try shaking the cartridge once and if I remember correctly I still got a few more pages out of it, but that s about all that might work. All of the colors work together in those machines to print so when one goes out the machine is pretty much useless until they are replaced.

What is the difference between a serial and parallel interface receipt printer? -

The parallel interface using a 25 pin connector, and is more of a printer standard. (some new computers have abandon this in favor of USB). The serial printer uses the 9 pin connector in many cases. This can be programmed to use COM1 or COM2. Be sure to read the instructions carefully, and learn which ones your computer has. Very old computers also used a 25 pin connector for a serial port, but it was a MALE connector instead of a female connector. You would not mistake the two. Good luck and Happy Computing!

The main difference you will care about is how it connects to your computer. Printers generally either use a parallel port, a serial port, or a USB port. Most newer computers have parallel and USB and are phasing out the serial ports. These websites might help: http://www.inetdaemon.com/tutorials/theo… http://www.totalphase.com/support/articl… http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Communicati…

The parallel interface should provide faster printing. There is also a USB interface which is faster.

A serial interface can only transmit one bit at a time. A parallel interface can transmit more than one bit at a time hence parallel. Parallel interfaces are therefore faster, but much slower than a USB 2.0 interface. A printer with USB is preferable.

One s serial, one s parallel!!!!!!!!!

Hi A receipt printer may sound like a straightforward piece of equipment, but be warned. There are many different manufacturers and models offering a wide range of features. Understanding the difference between these features can greatly increase the speed of checkout and the productivity of your registers. A serial interface is the type of attachment that can run from a printer to a PC. Serial ports on a computer are male and have either 9 or 25 pins. What is a parallel interface? A parallel interface is the type of attachment from the parallel port of the printer to the parallel port of the PC. A parallel port on a PC always is a 25 pin female port.

Are there such things as fabric sheets you can print on with a regular printer? -

I have a project for school and I need some type of product similar to this. I need to be able to print on something, using a regular home printer, and then sew the materials together. Can anyone help me?

Absolutely! Avery makes a printable cotton -- The number is 3384 and it lists for $18 for 5 sheets JoAnn Fabrics carries it as well: Click-N-Craft Cotton Poplin Fabric Sheet -- Lists for $17 -- shows on sale on their web site for $12.74. HP makes one too, not sure if all stores carry it. Hope this helped! Good Luck! Maggie B

You can buy iron on transfers. You simply print onto the transfer and then iron it on to the fabric. You should be able to get iron on transfers and any major store such as staples.

How do I give to charity if doesnt work? -

I would give to charity if printer and dvd player worked. DVD player keeps opening up and has no remote. Printer died with 2 brand new cartridges in them, can t get them out.

You are not going to be able to give them to charity. Charity s will not accept them, because in order to sell them or use them, they will have to have them fixed and they do not have the money for that. Best thing you can do is look for a recycling event in your area.

sometimes you can bring used dvd players cd players printers to fix it shops,, they will take them off your hands,,,, they can sometimes fix these things and tutn around and sell them,, its worth a try? Report Abuse

What multifunction printer should I buy? -

I own a small business and need a new multifunction printer. It has been suggested that I buy a HP laser printer at $900 (AUD) but the salesman has told me that it will only last about two years, as they all do. Is it worth spending more when it won t last any longer than the cheap ones? What brands do you like?

$ 900.00 is quite a bit of money to spend on a printer. Whatever brand of printer you buy, I would definately stay away from Dell and / or Lexmark; Dell s are expensive to operate [Inkjet Cartridges], amp; most, if now all, Lexmark s are total junk. * A little known secret today: Lexmark is the actual maker / manufacturer of Dell printers; In my opinion, this was a disasterous decision by Dell - Dell has worked very hard to bring their total sales closer to HP - Lexmark will surely drag them down. Laser vs. Inkjet - I would go with Laser; any more, prices are pretty close to each other; you should be able to buy an intermediate Laser Printer for $200.00 - $300.00. If you do not do a lot of printing, you might consider a HP All-In-One; Wal-Mart is selling the HP DeskJet F4140 All-In-One [Printer / Scanner / Photocopier] for $ 78.53; includes one Black amp; one Tri-Color Inkjet Cartridge(s). One drawback here - these are small cartridges - each hold only 05 ml of ink. ~ 10 months ago, I bought a HP Deskjet F-340 All-In-One; costs ~ $ 83.00, amp; overall, has done a pretty good gob. It also uses the small Inkjet Cartridges, amp; this is kind of a pain - The Black HP-21 costs ~ $15.00, amp; the Tri-Color HP-22 costs ~ $18.00. If you do buy a Inkjet printer, you might pay attention to the ink capacities of the cartridges - the more, the better. Good Luck, Ken C. quot;Little Covered Wagon Cartridge X-changequot;

How can I stop my labels from running? -

I create labels on the printer with Print Master and use Avery Inkjet and Laser Copier Labels to print them. I design them to hold honey which is sold at the flea market and everytime they get wet, they run. It is not good for customers. How can I stop this?

The solution is simple. Over each label, place some clear packing tape. It is waterproof, and will prevent the label below from smudging.

i really dont no but maybe u could ask the seller

How do I connect my laptop to my printer? -

Okay, i have an Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, and a Dell AIO Printer A920. I have tried installing the CD for the printer and also adding the printer to my laptop, and they haven t work. It also now says that the documents are pending, but it s been like that for a while. Thanks in advance :)

you can do it go to control panel gt; printers, right click the printer and click properties, go to the sharing tab, i believe it is, and enable sharing on the laptop go to add new printer, when it asks if it s local or remote select remote or networked printer, it ll search the network for shared printers, it ll say like deskjet 5550 on 192.168.1.102 or whatever, select that and it ll either download the driver from that computer automatically or you may have to download the driver or install it from the cd you have. Thats it from me Former Computer Technician Email me if you have questions Computertechnician@ymail.com

Have you tried uninstalling the printer, then restarting computer, plug in printer and turn computer on, then let windows try to install the printer, then try printing again. If this dosen t work then go to the DEll web site and download the printer drivers off the web site.

How do you connect the Laptop and Printer? make sure the cable you use to connect is secure. you can also uninstall the driver for the printer and restart the system then reinstall the driver to see if it solves.

Get the the cable of your printer to connect the your labtop =p idk try the instruction manuel?

try uninstalling, then restarting computer, plug in printer and turn computer on, then let windows try to install, then try printing again.

use USB

Do you know of any printers that are good value for ink consumption? -

Thinking of getting a new printer and one question that I need to ask is there any printers that have ink that is not too expensive to buy OR uses ink quite economically and doesn t mean that we have to buy ink every month.

If your printing needs would range from medium to large outputs, then better opt for a laser printer. The per page cost is relatively cheaper compared to that of an inkjet printer. However, if photo printing is considered, quality-wise inkjet printer is preferred over that of a laser printer.

The main selling point of the kodak is that the ink is $10 a cartridge. I pay under $3 a cartridge for Epson compatible ink cartridges at http://ccs-digital.com which hold 66% more ink than the OEM version. Every day I see several messages here from people whose new Kodak printers arent working. So buying a printer just for cheap ink isnt the best option Epson gives you a one year replacement warranty. For a year they will fedex a replacement printer and pick up your old one at their expense. This is the best warranty in the industry and shows they have a lot of confidence in their product, which is why I have been using and recommending Epson for many years. The NX and Workforce series are excellent. I recently bought two NX200 scanner/printer/copiers for $40 each at officemax. Great machines. And you cant beat $3 ink cartridges.

The newer Kodak printers are advertised to be very reasonable to buy replacement ink cartridges for. I m thinking about half the cost of comparable printers cartridges. I believe I ve seen the black ink cartridge for $10 and the color cartridge for $20. You re also supposed to get many more copies from both cartridges. The prints I ve seen from these Kodak printers are great and I believe the photos are even waterproof.
