How do I fix a printer spooler problem? -

I have a canon pixma printer. After printing one sheet of a document, the printer stops working and a window pops up saying there s a problem with the printer spooler. The printer doesn t work after that. How can I solve this?

You can try stopping and restarting the spooler service (Start, Control Panel, Administrative tools, services) but you may want to uninstall/delete the printer, then install a fresh copy of the drivers from the Canon website.

To take care of spool issues go to http://www.printerproblemsolver.com and download their utility! Their software works with many makes and models of printers (Even Lexmark) and with a few clicks of your mouse it gets rid of the problem fast! No messy dos stuff or opening up a bunch of windows! How can I print off coupons from the net ? -

My pc is out dated and I can t download the coupon printer program to print off the online coupons. I know I can get coupons through my newspaper and the mail but there are tons more coupons that I can get online that isn t offer through my newspaper/mail. Is there another way for me to get these coupons that are being offer online without downloading this program? *Operating system: Windows 98

Read the second to last paragraph below.... The best coupon website that I have found is http://www.HotCouponWorld.com. It has loads of information about every type of coupon you are looking for. There is so much information that you really have to take the time and read through all the forums to get the full benefit. I get a lot of great printable coupon links off of this forum http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/pri… Tons of grocery and health and beauty coupons This site has also helped me to match my coupons with sales at certain stores and if you read through the forums will teach you everything you need to know. I save the most money shopping to CVS which I always thought was too expensive. When you use their sales and their Extra Care Bucks rewards you actually get so much free and many times you get what is called an quot;overagequot; which is where with the discounts you actually earn money so you get things for free and they basically pay you to shop there. You do have to put some time into it at first but once you get the hang of it it s like second nature. Here is a link to the drug store forums (Walgreens, RiteAid, CVS etc...) http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/dru… Also, another great thing is that they have forums for each grocery store. So you can click on which ever grocery store you want to shop at and you will see where people have already matched up coupons with the stores sales which is very helpful. (This is how you get a lot of food free or for very little money.) http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/gro… This is another great way to get coupons... the following is a link to many different manufacturers. If you click on the quot;Contact Usquot; link on each website and just compliment their products or ask for coupons 75% or more will mail you coupons. Most of them are great coupons ( I just got 4 coupons for free Playtex tampons (6.99 value each). Because you do have to fill in your name and address you would want to use an auto fill program so that with a click of a button everything is filled in (ex. name, address, email etc.) then all you have to do is write a personal message and hit send. I make up a generic message complimenting the product and save it on my computer. When I am requesting for coupons I just copy and paste that message so I don t have to type anything. It takes all of maybe 15 seconds on each website for great return in coupons. http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dfk9rd… I know all of this information can really help you just have to take the time to read and teach yourself to really cut your grocery bill in half. I more then cut mine in half and that is not including the free name brand shampoo, conditioner, make up, face wash, body wash, and personal hygiene products.

There are pages and pages at ... http://www.realfreestuffforall.com/ I hope you don t mind me sharing my awesome spam free site with you, just trying to help! Thanks~ Honestly, I am trying be resourceful! lilypad Also, try bricks coupons, you can request them in the mail instead of printing. Report Abuse

Is it possible to upgrade this printer for wireless connectivity? -

I want to buy a Samsung ml 2250 printer. But it doesn’t have wireless connectivity. What should I do? Is it possible to upgrade this printer for wireless connectivity?

http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetai… http://www.trendhut.com/product_info.php… Anything along these lines should work for you. You will need to plug the printer into this device and then poof, it s a wireless printer. If you want to search for more products which will do the job, search for Wireless USB Print Server.

since this printer doesn’t have wireless connectivity then why don’t you buy some other printer which has this feature. However, it is possible to upgrade this printer but it will cost you anywhere between 200 to 250$ to upgrade. Why not just buy a higher end printer instead. Here is more information on Samsung ml 2250and check whether you can find a similar printer will wireless connectivity. or try google.com

You can get a wireless print server for about $100. I like that particular printer but consider some similar options and their prices. If you still want that printer, look into getting a wireless print server.

You could get a wireless print server, http://www.usr.com/products/networking/w…

Why does my printer think the ink cartridge is incompatible? -

My printer, which has never had a problem until now, suddenly thinks the blank ink cartridge is incompatible. I have tried taking out the cartridge and putting it back in, tried unplugging it from the wall, and from the tower. What else do you guys suggest?

You need to replace the cartridge. Chances are the electronics on the cartridge have expired rendering it unuseable. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do outside of replacing that bad boy.

this problem cost me a new printer last year as it is an electronic fault on the heads

How can i connect multiple computers in one room to a printer? -

At our school we want to be able to connect all our printers in our classroom to one printer. We don t want to connect to one central printer--just the one printer in our classroom so we don t have to have printers for each computer. What do we need?

you can buy a router and create a wireless network between the computers. if you do that you can also have access to all the computers on the network you create.

Ther are a couple solutions. If you use an internet connection in the classroom I would install a router if you do not I would use a switch. You will need to plug all the computers into the router/switch and plug the printer into one of the computers and install the printer drivers. This will be your host computer. Then you will need to enable print sharing on the computer the printer is attached too. Simply go into control panel in xp/vista and click on printer. Then you need to right click on the installed printer icon. Then click on properties. This is where all your optons for the printer are. There will be a tab that says quot;Sharingquot; this is where you turn on print sharing and also you can type in a specified name for the printer you want to share (Brother Laser Printer)etc. As an example. It can be anything you like. Next step you need to go to each computer on the network and add the new printer. Go into the control panel and choose printer. Then you want to select quot;add a printerquot; make sure you click on quot;add anetwork printerquot; when it prompts you as to what type of printer to install. Now there are a couple options first is easy it will automaticlly search for a network printer and may find it. or you may need to manually add it. Buy checking off quot;select a shared printer by namequot; then typing in the location manually. first is the computers name. for example. QUADCORE. you can find the name of your host computer by right clicking on my computer click on properties then click on my computer name. Ok next is the printers name. This is the name you entered when you were turning on print sharing in the printers properties page. example BROTHER LASERJET. Now that you know both your host computer and printers name you can enter it in manually in the add a printer page. it should look something like this \\QUADCORE\BROTHER LASERJET you need to do this on all the computers that you wish to install the printer on. Also back to the begining if you only have a 4 port router and have more then 4 computers you can attach a switch to the router to allow more computers. Best of luck.

well hopefully you have XP Pro cause to my knowledge home doesn t support it. though all you really need is a XP pro disk and you can install the application on a XP home computer but you just need to go to my network places and run the home office setup wizard enable printer sharing. you have to do this on all the computers. on the computer that has the printer click printers and scanners then right click the printer icon and select share and set the share name. then you just need to go around to each printer and add printer from network

The computers must first be networked, and then all you need do is share the printer to the network.

Well how many computers are there in the classroom? You could set up a network and share the printer through the network.

Why does my computer freeze whenever i turn on my Printer? -

I have a EPSONSTYLUS CX7800 and whenever i turn on my printer, my whole computer system freezes. ALT+CTRL+DELETE does not work and neither does ESC. I can still turn On and Off my printer but my computer still remains frozen. Please help! O.O

With the printer OFF, Remove printer software, Reinstall the printer software, restart your computer. Turn on printer, it should be fixed. If not post an add on here and email me so I can find you.

1. Not enough room on your hard drive. 2. Not enough RAM memory. 3. Printer software is corrupted. Probably #3. In which case you should do a disk defrag. Uninstall your printer software and then reinstall it. Should work.

Is it possible to defeat the software on the Lexmark 1300 printer? -

I have a Lexmark Z1300 printer and recently expended the ink that came with the printer when it was new. A friend of mine gave me a refill kit and I have used similar kits on other printers successfully before. I refilled the cartridge and the software keeps insisting that the cartridge is empty and refuses to let the printer print. Can this feature be defeated? How do I do it? Thanks

Yes, you can shut down the software and it s printer management features and just use the driver to print with. Go to the little icons next to your system clock, and you should find a Lexmark Solution Center (or whatever, I have a different one, the 2300) that you can close. You can even uninstall the software if it s that bad; doing so won t uninstall the driver you need to print with, just the management software, which you ve apparently outgrown.

I found this site after hours of googling the problem; none of the solutions on the page worked for this person either. Does anyone else have a solution. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/51393 Report Abuse

uninstall then reinstall the software. This woulks 95% of the time It could be software error and this is the quickest way to fix it.

the cartridge itself may have chips that communicate with the printer driver saying how much is left. if the original ink dries out and you want to refill it, you should also reset the chip so that it can tell the drivers that it is filled once more.

Hello, I have the same printer. I have been doing research on how to get the printer to accept the refilled cartridge. First of all the software removal trick does NOT work. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled and it did NOT work. I made sure no lexmark programs were running in the background and that did not work either. (used msconfig as well as a program called enditall 2). Are you using cartridge number 28 or cartridge 34? I heard a rumor that the 34 high yield black cartridges do not have this problem but I cannot confirm this at the moment. I have been digging through google for months now trying to find the solution and in my opinion I believe that there is a chip inside the printer that keeps a record of the cartridge serial number and the amount of ink left. I absolutely refused to let lexmark get away with this so I dissambeled the printer and I discovered a memory chip but im not sure if its the crartridge memory chip or the printer s firmware. I also heard a rumor that after about 3 - 5 new cartridges the printer starts to forget the older cartridges so that may work but again I cannot confirm this. Im sorry I could not answer your question but I hope that someone more knowledgeable can come up with the solution as I refuse to let lexmark win regarding this. These new printers that have the iPod look and feel are the same old bag of evil tricks that lexmark is used to doing.

ok lie to the computer list it as an apollo 2200 etc this should work as i have done it b4 for different reasons but its worth a ret cant see why it shouldnt work

The colours do not appear when I am printing. The black is OK but only the blue works from the colour cartridg? -

I have refilled both cartridges a few times. The printer is a Lexmark X1100 I have cleaned the nozzle s four times, aligned the cartridges several times also. I have removed the colour cartridge and wiped it with a damp cloth. When I print a document all I get is black amp; blue.

MAYBE THE CARTRIDGES HAVE GONE DRYNEAR PRINTING POINT DIP CARTRIDGE HEAD IN WARM WATER AND IF YOU SEE ALL THREE COLOURS THEN ITS RELEASED AND WORK FINE OTHER THAN THAT TRY NEW CARTRIDGES IN PRINTER

Lexmark cartridges are made so that you can t refill them successfully. They give away their printers (by the time you ve allowed for the price of the ink supplied with it) and make their money by selling overpriced ink cartridges. You may be able to free up the magenta and yellow nozzles if you wipe them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol (meths, surgical spirit, gin all work), but they re likely to clog up again.

The print head does burn out, it does warp and it does dry. You rpobably need to replace your colour cartridge. With a lexmark you are lucky to get one refill, let along several.

Why my printer is printing the advertisement only and not the text that I want? -

I want to print an article for a project, but the printer prints only the advertisements only and not the real article. I tried the set-up option but everything looks normal. Can anybody help? Thank s!!

Unfortunately web pages don t always print out the way you d like them too. Use your mouse to highlight the text you want to print/save (left click amp; hold it on the beginning of the text amp; drag your cursor down to the end of the text, then release the mouse button). Now right click on any of the highlighted text and choose either quot;Printquot; or quot;Copyquot;. If you quot;Copyquot;, you can then paste it into a word processing application like Word and format it the way you want it and print it. If you choose quot;Printquot; instead, make sure you select the option box quot;Selectionquot; in the print menu under quot;Print Rangequot; to print only what was highlighted. Best of luck.

im not sure what you mean, if you mean like it only prints an advertisment on a webpage and not the text, try copy/paste into wordpad and print it like that, then it will only print the text

Can the printer be useful after long time being off? -

I have a printer Epson for more than 6 years. In the last 2-3 years it is completely off, im not using it coz i got a new one. I have been told that, if u dont use the printer continuously goes quot;dryquot; and after a period of time it is completely useless, i can not use it. Is that true?

if you replace the ink cartridges you should be fine. I am using a old dot matrix printer that I have had for about 20 some odd years and it was left packed away for about 5 years at one point. I just replaced the ribbon made sure there wasn t any dust and that packed in it anywhere and then I turned it on and ran off a bunch of letters. Might be a good idea after you replace the ink to go ahead and do all the cleaning cycles your printer has available.

Maybe not. I think you can change the cartridge only. You d better make the cartridge run out next time http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx… http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx…

You can try replacing the cartridges first and then try printing off a test page. It could still be usable if you have the right connectors and device drivers.

How do I realign the printable area for my hp 1350 all-in-one printer? -

I have an hp 1350 all-in-one printer and the printable area got shifted up somehow, so when I print stuff the text is really close to the top. How do I get it back to normal?

If it s not aligned, it should do it for you once you put in a new cartridge. You could just try to take out the ink cartridge and replace it back it, it s what I do. Then it should prompt you. What it should do is ask you to place a piece of paper in the scanner area and it ll scan, print the test page and blah.

How do I print a picture in the exact dimensions I want? -

For example, I want to print out a picture that is 7 centimeters by 9 centimeters. How can I do that on the computer and just print it out so it will be 7x9 centimeters?

For sure there must be an option that specifies the dimensions of the document. Probably under document settings. That option is in mostly all kind of word processors and page makers, as well as photo edting. The sizes can be on inches, pixels and centimeters, even simple quot;paint has that option. What you could do, is just bring the image to paint and resize it there, and then importe it to your document again. In paint, just go under images, and then attributes. Just pick cm... I wish it helped!

Depends on what software you are using to print it, and your printer setup options. If you have photo software with the option, resize the image using inches instead of pixels. Several photo software programs have this option.

You need one of the Photo Editing Software s available. Adobe Products are one of the Industry Standards Photoshop, PhotoDeluxe, Elements, Illustrator, and on and on. Don

How does a print server work (continued)? -

Just curious because I am going to purchase one soon. I can only find wifi print servers right now. Will those double as a wired 10/100 print server too? Do I need a wireless router to use a wireless print server or just a laptop with wifi?

Most wireless print servers can also cunftion wired, but READ the specs before buying to be sure. If using a wirelss one, then it s MUCH better to connect it via a router. How it works is technical, bus basiccaly acts as a bridge between a network and a USB, not network ready printer and transfers the data from network to the printer

Can I get my Epson printer to work with nonepson ink cartridges? -

Very cleverly I bought some ink cartridges online for my Epson70+ printer, sadly the printer is recognizing none Epson product and is refusing to print. Can you tell me how to solve this? Isn’t it illegal for Epson to monopolize the market so? Is there a class action?

hmmmm.... i have no idea sooorrryyy xxxxxxxxxxxx

I think so.

do not use epson compatibles. i have ruined 4 epson printers using cheap compatibles. they will eventually clog up your print heads and flood yer printer. it is better in the long run to use original inks, plus it voids your warranty if you dont use original inks.

Some of the newer printers now have to read a chip on the cartridge to see if it is a genuine product before they recognize the cartridge. This keeps you stuck buying their expensive cartridges. It isn t illegal, but it sure is annoying.

hi everybody i work in epson printer service center so i can help out guys. firstly dont buy non genuine epson inks. it will just shorten your epson printer s lifespan. also it actually has lower page yield compared to genuine ones and inferior print quality. as non genuine inks uses cheap materials, the ink is actually thinner than genuine ones, hence it smudges easily we are not monopolising the market but rather providing the best for our customers. also note that using non genuine inks voids your epson printer s warranty. I can guarantee you ll have satisfaction purchasing our genuine inks. i myself used to buy non genuine inks but just disappoints myself with the messy diy refillings and inferior prints. also i can answer your non compatibility issue. you see in each epson ink cartridge there is a small circuit board and a chip. 3rd party manufacturers try to imitate these but usually fails. THEY CHEATED YOU, NOT US. that s y you can guarantee that an original epson ink cartridge will always work on your printer. these manufacturers are out there to try to cheat your money from you and when there s defects they usually dont claim responsibility and does not allow refund. we own the patents for our ink cartridges, therefore we actually have the right to sue these cheat manufacturers but we don t

My picturemate did this and I just kept turning it on and off and it eventually accepted it, it is not illegal, they just want you to use their products.

If the chips are not registering there is nothing you can do other than return the cartridges and get you money back. Epson does hold the patent on the chips, thus no company can use EPSON chips without consent. Some of the third party chips are flawed and will not read, as you are experiencing now. This usually occurs for the higher quality printers such as yours. With regards to legality, it is not illegal for epson to incorporate technology that makes it difficult to use a third party cartridge, it is only illegal when it explicitly states that use of a third party product will void the warranty. The only time this can occur is if the damage is actually caused by the third party cartridge.

make them epson inks but another printer. may wrk? dunno can try but they get ruined easy.ebay sells em cheap. tehres this shop on ebay but cant remember name. its dead cheap. try em.

You could try one thing that might work. Remove the ink cartridges that are not being recgonized from your printer, and after the cartridges are removed turn your printer off. Then take a paper towel and go over each chip on the cartridges. After you cleaned the chips then turn your printer back on and reinstall ink cartridges. Now if that does not work I return the cartridges to where they were purchased. I purchase all my cartridges from this website....www.inkjetcartridge.com, they offer great prices and ship pretty fast.

They are not monopolizing market, just producing their cartridges in different standards.. But of course u can use different brands which produce according to epson s standards like Pelikan.

How many tons of garbage has Microsoft added to landfills by making Vista not backwards compatible? -

Think of all those perfectly fine printers, modems, etc. that are rendered useless and dicarded into landfills because, here we are in the 21st century, yet Microsoft doesn t seem to be able to make a backwards compatible operating system.

There were many security issues with the way that drivers worked in XP and earlier MS Operating systems. MS took the view that they should make a more secure system. This means that the hardware would need drivers that work in the new way. In general, these drivers are written by the hardware manufacturers, who can choose if they write drivers for older hardware or not. My suggestion is to always stick with hardware that runs on generic drivers, as these are more likely to be rewritten for new operation systems. For printers, stick with PCL or Postscript. For modems, stick with ones that have Hayes compatable drivers. With reference to the above question - Epson 9 pin and 24pin, HP PCL4 and Postscript drivers have been in Windows since 95, although the drivers themselves have been re-written several times.

Your question is based on so many false premises I don t know where to start. Most of those peripherals are being thrown away because they ve outlived their usefulness, but even assuming that the issue is drivers, how is it Microsoft s fault if the peripheral manufacturers don t make new drivers? In fact, it s amazing that XP has allowed hardware to run with the same drivers for about 7 years. I can t think of any other OS that has been able to use the same drivers for that long. Can you? Can you name any other OS that can use a previous version s drivers?

How many foolish producers of hardware products didn t utilize the YEAR in which Microsoft was putting out free beta and RC versions of their OS, in order to create drivers that would work for them? PS, here s HP s solution for their Laserjets: the universal driver. http://h20325.www2.hp.com/blogs/laserjet…

why should they? if they did that, the peripherals industry would go bust in no time.

How to stop printing fax confirmations on HP J4550? -

New fax/printer/scanner. By default, it prints a report every time someone faxes out, and when a fax comes in, and whenever it jams, and whenever you cancel a fax, etc. This wastes printer ink. How do I change it so it only prints a confirmation when I tell it to? The quot;helpquot; function is useless. There is no manual, you have to search the online manual, and when I search for quot;stop printing reportsquot; it takes me to an article on how to print reports.

I opened up the manual (online) for your printer, typed quot;fax confirmationquot; in the search box, and found these instructions: 1. Press Setup. 2. Press right arrow to select Print Report, and then press OK. 3. Press right arrow to select Fax Confirmation, and then press OK. 4. Press right arrow to select one of the following, and then press OK. (a) Off::: Does not print a fax confirmation report when you send and receive faxes successfully. This is the default setting. (b) On Fax Send::: Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send. (c) On Fax Receive::: Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you receive. (d) Send amp; Receive::: Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send and receive.

What are the constituents of a printer ink? -

What it is made from,What chemicals are added to it to make it to be what it is.How does it is different from the plant-extracted dyes. I really need it in a kind of detailed for my project work.

Inkjet Inks The basic problem with inkjet inks is the conflicting requirement for a colouring agent that will stay on the surface and rapid dispersement of the carrier. Small inkjet printers as being used in offices or at home, all use aqueous inks based on a mixture of water, glycol and some dyes or pigments. These inks are inexpensive to manufacture, but are difficult to control on the surface of media and therefore require often specially coated media. Aqueous inks are mainly being used in printers with disposable, so-called thermal, inkjet heads, as these heads require water in order to perform. In professional wide format printers, a much wider range of inks is in use currently. Most of these inks require piezo inkjet heads: In solvent inks, VOCs are the main ingredient. Advantage of these inks is that they are very inexpensive and enable printing on uncoated vinyl substrates, which are used a lot in advertising for billboards and fleet graphics. UV-curable inks consist mainly of acrylic monomers with an initiator package. After printing, the ink has to be cured by a high dose of UV-light. The advantage of UV-curable inks is that they quot;dryquot; as soon as they are cured, they can be printed on a wide range of uncoated substrates and make a very robust image. Disadvantages is that they are more expensive, require expensive curing modules in the printer and the cured ink has a significant volume and so give a slight relief on the surface. Dye sublimation inks contain special sublimation dyes and are used to print directly or indirectly on fabrics that consist of a high percentage of polyester fibres. In a heating step the dyes sublimate into the fibers and create an image with strong color and good durability. ///

How do I fit a web page width wise on my printer? -

When I try to print, 1/3rd of the web page is cut off. I have an HP printer. Thanks to all for any help!

Since no browser was specified and print width is controlled by browser rather than by printer: On Firefox, under the Page Setup item, there is a checkbox called quot;Shrink to Fit Page Width.quot; On Internet Explorer, go to Print Preview and select quot;Shrink to Fitquot; Item. On Opera, go to Print Options and check quot;Fit to Paper Width.quot;

You could try printing Landscape instead of portrait.

How do i get page coming from printer same way as on print preview? -

On print preview - all OK, but after printing - size of printed area much smaller, margins are bigger and text size is smaller

It probably has to do with your printer settings. Make sure your printer doesn t have any margins set in it under contol panel/printers

are you muslim ?

How do I fix a printer that doesnt always feed the paper? -

Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes the paper feeds about 1/2 inch, then stops. I have to push it through with my fingernail until it grabs. Someone said, quot;Clean the rollersquot;. How do I do that? Where are they?

Change the brand of the paper. What happens is that sometimes, their is too much humidity in the paper and the roller will not grab it especially on Lexmark and Brother printers. If you want to clean the rollers, use rubbing alcohol. but, change the paper first and am sure it will work.

The rollers are the black rubber round things that quot;sucksquot; in the papers. If they got dirty with paper dust and such, they can t grab the paper, and your paper quot;slipsquot; and don t go in. You can try normal cleaning with just a cotton swab sticks... (Not with your fingers, as that can be oily). if that doesn t help, pay quot;fixyourownprinter.comquot; for their special soaked tissue which revives and cleans these rollers.

How do you speed up a printers print job? -

I have an HP laserjet 6M printer, been using it for some time. I recently purchased a new hp computer (xp) amp; a usb to parallel cable(since the new computer had no parrallel port). I installed it fine, did a test job. However, now it takes forever to print simple word files that are not large at all. I would say about 6 minutes! I see the print jobs show up in the queue--and under the quot;sizequot; tab it shows the file loading up to at least 1 MB and then it prints sometimes or not at all. Please any help I will be gratefull, thanks.
