How do I wirelessly connect my laptop to my printer? -

I have an Epson Printer and a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I ve tried quot;sharingquot; my printer but what do I do from there? Please be specific and put things in layman s terms if at all possible. :)

I put my printer on a D-Link DP-300U Print Server attached to my Wireless Router. I am using a USB Canon MP830 all-in-one. The Print Server allows 2 USB and 1 Parallel printers to all share the same IP address with different port names. I also set up my Router to always give the same IP address to the the Print Server, instead of configuring the Print Server with a static IP address. Finally, I bought a two-port USB switch and attached it to the printer. Make sure you buy one with an external switch as well as software switch. Most of the time, the printer is connected to the Print Server so that everyone in the house can use it. I have a USB cable from my PC and another one from my Print Server to this switch. Then, a single cable from the switch to the all-in-one. If I need to scan or fax from my PC, I use the software switch or press the hardware switch to change it to my PC. However, when I am done, the software switch doesn t let me change it back to the Print Server. The manual button on the USB switch lets me change it back when I am done. Another option is that most newer printers have a USB port that allows you to attach accessories, such as a blue-tooth receiver. If your printer has an external USB port, you can install a wireless receiver on your printer and connect via blue-tooth (or otherwireless connection) to print. This can also be used for other devices, such as your cell phone that has a camera.

First run wireless setup wizard. Print the network configuration page. Open internet explorer and type the ip address of the printer in the address bar and press enter. If you are able to see the printer information page then communication is fine. Now try to print, if you are unable to print. gt; Click on start gt; Control Panel gt; printer and faxes folder gt; Right click on the printer icon gt; select properties gt; Ports tab gt; select the port as standard TCP/IP and configure the port with IP address of the printer gt; Click on Apply and OK.

How do I know whether my printer is malfunction or the problem is in the cartridge? -

I m using HP 710C. I tried to use several non original color cartridge and the printer does not prints all the colors. Before buying original cartridge or new printer (which are the same price....) i m looking for way to verify that my pronter is O.K.....

well does you printer print at all? if yes but its printing the wrong colours then it mean that there is something wrong with your cartridge so just go buy a new one however if it doesn t print at all or its quality is really bad then it might be the cartridge alignment head s problem if so then you need to buy a new alignment head but it would be easier to just go buy a new printer at that point because it there might also be something wrong with the alignment head on the printer too lol.............good luck............this has happen to me many times so this is how i solved it lol

I need to know how to set up a postscript printer so I can make .pdf files? -

I run QuarkXpress 5.0 and I need to make pdf files and it s asking me to set up a postscript printer in order to make them, any suggestions?

You dont need any printer to make pdf files. You need one of the free pdf programs available on the net like cutepdf. It installs on to your machine like a printer but when you quot;printquot; to it, it creates a pdf file.

What are some pros and cons about the hp pavillion tx2000? -

I am thinking about getting the hp pavillion tx2000... is it a good laptop? What are some pros and cons about it?

Pros. They are touchscreen tablet PCs with a swivel screen and a stylus. Very portable, a 12.1 inch screen. Overall, very nice computers. Cons. HP will probably offer something better soon. The tx2000 series laptops have been out for a little while and likely HP will offer something updated within the next 6 months. Also, the tx2000 series laptops are expensive when compared to other laptops with similar specs. Overall, though, they are nice reliable computers. However, as with any tablet PC, the swivel screen is more likely to break than a normal laptop screen is. If you have the money, consider purchasing an accidental service plan.

What is the difference in Lexmark Ink 16 and 17? -

I have a printer that calls for either 16 or 17. There is about a $10 price difference. What is the difference?

The difference is quantity of ink. A number 16 black has 10ml of ink whereas the number 17 only has 5ml. in a number 17 there is only half a sponge so the maximum capacity of that cartridge can only be 5 ml. If you are doing a lot of printing it is well worth the extra $10 to get the number 16. The same is true for the 26 and 27 colour cartridges. The 26 has twice as much ink as the number 27.

The difference is their capacity. The $10 difference buys you more ink in the cartridge, which leads to more pages printed before your next cartridge replacement. I was trying to find the expected number of pages for each cartridge, but every site has conflicting data... If I find something concrete, I ll let you know.

I have used both,,could see very little difference in each.

How do I open a Brother DCP-130C printer to get to the head ? -

The magenta tube has just a spot of color the rest of tube is empty.Does any-one know of a site with instructions on how to do this?

Follow the instructions below: 1. Open the ink cartridge cover. If one or more ink cartridges are empty, for example Black, the LCD shows Ink Empty Black and Replace Ink. 2. Pull the lock release lever down and take out the ink cartridge for the color shown on the LCD. 3. Open the new ink cartridge bag for the color shown on the LCD, and then take out the ink cartridge. 4. Remove the protective yellow cap. DO NOT touch the area shown in the illustration below. 5. Each color has its own correct position. Insert the ink cartridge in the direction of the arrow on the label. 6. Lift each lock release lever and gently push it until it clicks, and then close the ink cartridge cover. 7. The machine will automatically reset the ink dot counter. Note: If you replaced an ink cartridge before the LCD shows Near Empty or Ink Empty, the LCD will ask you to verify that it was a brand new one. (For example, Did You Change Blck?) For each new cartridge you installed, press up navigation key or 1 or quot;+quot; to select Yes to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, be sure to press the down navigation key or 2 or quot;-quot; to select No. If the LCD shows No Cartridge after you install the ink cartridges, check that the ink cartridges are installed properly. Caution DO NOT take out ink cartridges if you do not need to replace them. If you do so, it may reduce the ink quantity and the machine will not know the quantity of ink left in the cartridge. DO NOT touch the cartridge insertion slots. If you do so, the ink may stain your skin. If ink stains your skin or clothing, wash with soap or detergent at once. If you mix the colors by installing an ink cartridge in the wrong position, clean the print head several times after correcting the cartridge installation. Once you open an ink cartridge, install it in the machine and use it up within six months of installation. Use unopened ink cartridges by the expiration date written on the cartridge package. DO NOT dismantle or tamper with the ink cartridge; this can cause the ink to leak out of the cartridge.

How can I fix inkjet ink on glossy card without it smudging? -

When printing on glossy card the ink doen t dry for some time and even then it will still smudge

The ink shoud dry if you are using the correct ink and printer settings. You could go to a photography store, and see if they have a setting spray

Make certain that the paper that you re using is for inkjet printers and not for laser. That s a common mistake that people make when picking up paper at office supply stores. Especially when it comes to hp glossy brochure paper. http://jascoinksystems.com Report Abuse

Setting your printer to glossy paper probably controls the amount of ink. Glossy paper needs far less ink but that s not the answer to the problem. In the printing industry they add driers to the ink so that it will dry on glossy paper. Most ink is designed to be absorbed into the paper s fibers but Glossy paper has a coating on it to make it glossy so the ink just sits on top and never dries. Another trick (and by far the best) is to print on matte paper and laminate it. This was suggested above. Laminating matte paper will be around the same cost as purchasing special glossy paper designed for ink jet printers which is sold at better stationers.

make sure that the properties for the printer are set to print on glossy paper.

You are using a paper that is not inkjet compatible, or is not compatibly with you printer. EPson ink will not dry properly on HP paper and vice versa. The only way to get you printers to last is to replace the paper with one that is compatible with your printer.

Go to Printer PROPERTIES and make sure it is set to GLOSSY PAPER and not PLAIN Paper. Should be OK then. .

Use a laminator to seal them - £10 on special offer at WHSmith.

When I turn on my computer, it prints everything I printed the day before all over again? -

I m running Windows Vista Business on my pc and every time I turn on my computer the following day, it prints all my documents I printed the day before. I have to go into the printer queue manually and delete all my printed documents before I turn off my computer so it won t print everything again the next day. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How to I configure my notebook to use the printer on my wireless network? -

Without details about the make and model of your notebook it s difficult to provide an appropriate answer. The notebook has to have a wireless Ethernet adapter in order to connect to your wireless network. You will also have to install a network driver on the notebook. I m assuming the printer is not connected to another computer and is connected direclty to your wireless router. If this is not the case you need to enable printer sharing on the computer that the printer is attached to.

connect you to the wireless network you will get access to the printer automaticlly

What type of printer do i need to print on thick paper? -

i want to print on 14 pt paper. or anything heavier than 110 lb. what type of printer do i need, i was just hired by a company that has 1000 employes that will be printing business cards with me and i don t have the right machine yet! can someone tell me the name of a xerox machine or any other brand?

A lot of photo printers can print on heavy weight paper. Check out Epson s or Canon s inkjet photo printer lineup.

What is the difference between a remanufactured ink cartridge and a refilled ink cartridge? -

When remanufacturing an ink cartridge does one simply refill a spent ink cartridge, or is there more involved in it than that?

remanufactured cartridges are *usually* refilled after the sponge (if applicable) and any electronic parts are replaced. now, keep in mind some companies do indeed only refill them (rhinotek, i m looking at you) and that s really a crappy thing to do. refillers like the one i work for just refill the cart and hand it back to you. usually we will test it first to make sure it still works :P

its the same thing

I have no idea. sorry.:)

remanufactured = rebuilt refilled = ink put back into used cartridge referbished = can mean *alot* of things

Um, I think the difference between new and refurb? $20.00 I am all about the refurb I hate to spend a bunch on ink. The only real dirrerence is they will give you a false empty notification, why? because tehy actually have a memory and a batterie in them that tells the pc when they quot;shouldquot; be empty. Just use it till its dead and go get a large pepperini adn italian sausage (a few Jalapinos on the side) and a 6 of Miller Lite, or a cpl 40 s of Malt...........................

I would stick with the regular ink cartridges because the refillable ones are a rip off.

the remanu has had the computer cards swapped out.

remanufactured opens the cases and makes sure the springs are replaced and cleans it up and refills... refilled is ink only

My desktop computer doesnt have a quot;Sharequot; feature on it to share the printer with my laptop. How to share? -

Desktop computer has Windows ME. It s connected to Epson 880 printer. Laptop uses Windows XP. Do I need to connect printer to both computers using a cable, or is there another way to share the printer on my wireless network?

You need a USB Share Switch. I got mine from Amazon.com for $17. I use a Mac and a Toshiba with 2 printers. Either computer can use either printer.
