How do I create a blue print of my house ? -

i was given for homework to create a blue print what is the easiest way to create it ?

you need something like this http://www.ezblueprint.com/index.html

If this is a simple homework assignment, just measure the walls of your house, make a crude drawing, then get out graph paper, put everything to scale, and add detail. Ask a parent for help, if necessary.

How do I print to from to an XP shared HP PhotoSmart from a Mac? -

I have a Mac running 10.4.10, and XP service pack 2. I have a HP Photosmart c4200, connected to the xp machine via USB, which prints fine, and the printer is shared. I have a network set up on the PCs (workgroup). I can see the network on the mac, but not the printer. Detailed instruction would be most helpful

Samba shares (SMB) provides connectivity for OSX to Windows shares and printers. You may need to install the Samba services for OSX first. You ll be asked for the Windows Workgroup the same way you are on an XP box. Samba will allow you to see the XP PC on your network from your browser. It will also allow you to select and configure the printer. Keep in mind that personal firewalls on the XP and Mac may prevent access. So check that out first. If your not able to browser to the XP box, your somehow blocked. OSX HP drivers for your printer are likely to be proprietary. So download the latest for the HP site and follow the specific instructions HP gives. Hope this helps. P

http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3015.html I don t know if there is an HP 4200 series listed so look for it when it s time to choose it. Or you can manually add it using the PCs IP address. How to manually add a Windows shared printer 1. Open Printer Setup Utility (located in /Applications/Utilities). 2. Mac OS X 10.4.x users: Choose Add Printer from the Printers menu, then hold the Option key while clicking the quot;More Printersquot; button. Mac OS X 10.3.x users: Hold the Option key down while choosing Add Printer from the Printers menu. 3. Choose Advanced from the first pop-up menu. 4. Choose Windows Printer via SAMBA from the Device pop-up menu. 5. In the Device Name field, type the name you would like to use for this printer in Mac OS X. 6. In the Device URI field, use one of the following formats to link to the printer: smb://user:password@workgroup/server/sha… smb://user:password@server/sharename smb://workgroup/server/sharename smb://server/sharename Notes: quot;userquot; is the name of a Windows user who has privileges to use the printer. quot;passwordquot; is the password of that Windows user. quot;workgroupquot; is the name of the Windows workgroup to which the computer sharing the printer belongs. quot;serverquot; is the name of the computer sharing the printer or its IP address. quot;sharenamequot; is the shared Windows printer s share name. Tip: You don t need a quot;workgroupquot; when specifying the IP address of the computer (such as when the printer is on a different subnet), or if your Mac belongs to the same Windows (SMB) workgroup. 7. Choose the appropriate PPD or printer driver from the Printer Model pop-up menu. 8. Click Add. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?…

What is the difference between a Color Laser and Color Laserjet printer? -

I am interested in purchasing a new printer for work. Need a color and love the speed of laser. But also need to print pictures and envelopes, without the envelopes looking quot;mashedquot;. What do you recommend? Thanks for your time!! =)

Basically the laser will cause you to go blind prematurely and the ink jet printer will make you want to pull your hair out because you are always spending $100 for a little jar of ink, and half is used on the test page.

there is no difference. color laser printers are great for documents but no good for pictures. if you want to print pictures your better bet is an ink jet.

Am I still be eligible for Apple printer rebates after the purchase of my MacBook? -

I have recently purchased a new 2008 MacBook and have just become aware of the rebates they are offering for $100 off a new printer. Would I still be eligible for this rebate even though I have already purchased the computer?

yes you are. i bought a new macbook about a month ago. 1.5 weeks later, i went into the store and got my printer. even did the rebate in the store. all you have to do is bring your receipt in. they will pretty much refund you the original transaction and recharge you with the printer. the printer has to be on the same receipt as the laptop. that is it.

yes only if the offer was valid at the time of purchase and if so just mail and copy code and receipt keep a copy for yourself.

I would call them to find out. Sometimes they ll do it if your purchase was close enough to the promotion.

unfortunately no u are not.

How to print on transparent plastic paer with Canon MP145? -

I used plain paper profile and it s very thin black color on the transparency!

First you need inkjet printable transparencies. THen you simply set you paper settings to transparency and print. If you do not have inkjet printable transparencies the ink will not adhere or dry. It will just smudge.

You need to buy INKJET transparencies or else the ink will not stick to the paper.

you have to see if the printer supports those kind of papers

What printer would you choose between a Ricoh GX3050N a LEXmark c534N and a Xerox 6180N? -

The duty of the printer i′d buy would be only presentation and we need the best quality.

i can say from personal experience. (which i have a ton, we have over 60 printers of different styles, features, etc). that Ricoh, and Lexmark blow! they are unreliable, constantly break, and just downright give awful results We had a 5 year contract on our Ricoh copier/printers. We had about 1.5-2 million pages on them. Towards the end of the contract (year 4-5) it would break like once a week. This is a Heavy volume printer, it shouldn t do this.. but it did. we went with canon the next time around. We also have some lexmark printers. They are ok in terms of quality, but the toner cartiages tend to leak, and spill random toner all over in internals, which causes a break in either the fuser or roller kits. I haven t had good reliability with any of the models we have (we spent over 1000 dollars per unit, so we didn t buy cheap printers.. by any means). I have had good luck with HP and canon tho. They just work. They have excellent quality, and great reliability ( i have some printers which haven t rebooted in like 15 months). When we were looking at copiers (we got canon), we looked at xerox. Great printers, great quality, amazing managements tools. the cost per page wasn t as good as canon. That s the only reason we got canon s.. I d go with the Xerox.

How do I install a Lexmark 1200 series printer without a CD? -

I misplaced the CD and my computer coincidently got wiped out, is there anyway to install the printer again without the CD?

Download the driver software from Lexmark s website.

here is the direct link to download the driver http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/do…

You should be able to go out to the Lexmark home site and download a driver for your particular model - technical support - drivers. www.lexmark.com

If you have downloaded the driver of the printer, then add a printer and select that driver to be your printer driver of your lexmark. otherwise, if you choose a generic driver of your lexmark which packaged from an OS XP and Vista, other installable options and features of your lexmark will not be available.

I am at work and I am trying to print something on a 4X6 index card from a Lexmark laser printer.? -

I have Microsoft word and I am trying to figure out how to get text in a 4x6 area and then how to set the settings for the printer to print on these cards. Does anyone know what I need to do?

Do this (Word XP (2002) and adjacent versions. Should be similar for Word Vista): 1. Click the File-gt;Page Setup menu item. 2. Click the Paper tab. 3. Adjust the Width and Height text boxes to fit the index card size. 4. You may also have to adjust the margins on the Margins tab. 5. Click OK. That should do it.

Use envelope guide to put cards in, then print.

Why does my HP deskjet printer arbitrarily spit out sheets of paper at apparently random moments? -

mine dose also .i dont know why. mine is a 7340

Is it better to have a printer with horizontal or vertical paper feed? -

What is better, considering I require a printer that is able to print thick paper - Such as envelopes and cards. Example of printer with horizontal feed: HP Deskjet D2460. Example of printer with vertical feed: Epson 777.

quot;thickquot; paper is card stock...or 60lb.paper..envelopes are no were near that! most printers print in quot;verticalquot;. envelopes included. because of the roller feed quot;shortquot; paper, like envelops, dont feed well in horizontal mode....they tend to jam and they can only be placed ..face down with flap forward. since most printer print envelopes one way or another..I d get a good printing one!

either way will print your envelopes and cards alright. i think horizontal would be better for printing envelopes... on a vertical one you will probably have to tell your printer to print landscape to have the letters go the right way, but you could figure it out pretty easily for either one. i prefer vertical, however Ive never needed to print envelopes, so for you I would say Horizontal.
