Can you print transparencies on a regular printer without it smudging? -

I have a presentation coming up and don t wanna pay a printing center to do it if my printer can (for free). I have an HP psc 2175 all-in-one printer if that helps.

Just make sure that the transparency has the ROUGHER side toward the printer print head (that is if it is supposed to face up, the rough side is facing up, if it is supposed to be facing down, it faces down. Many printer manufacturers have a tutorial for printing transparencies in the help file) I have used inkjet printers to print them for a few years now and have never had one smudge or take a long time to dry, the thing is that you have to have the transparencies made for inkjets.

yup you just have to buy transparencies designed for your style of printer, in your case ink jet. It is always a good idea to let them dry for a few seconds before handling to ensure that they do no smudge.

Inkjets have problems printing on them. What makes them work on the big copy machines is that it heats the transparency and literally burns in the letters. With your little hp, think paint on plastic. It may work, but you have HIGH risk of smudging, beading and long dry times.

Yes, they actually make a type of transparency for regular printers and they make another for copiers....just make sure you get the right one or you will experience the smudge effect.
