How do i connect my printer to an earthnet jack? -

i asked a question a few minutes ago about my computer not being able to locate my printer and someone told me to connect the printer to an earthnet jack instead of using a USB port. How do i do that? also. i have a MacBook and an Hp printer

Ethernet lol, and most printers use the USB. are you sure your printer is compatible with macs? make sure of that, pop your installation disc into the mac and install. than plug the printer in. hardware detection shud just install it.

there should be a port on the back of the printer for an ethernet port and the other end would connect into a router or modem to connect to a network. if you re only trying to connect it to your mac then the usb should work fine. make sure you don t have too many usb devices connected to your mac because sometimes it takes too much power. (have had problem before) the usb cord that connects into the printer doesn t look like most usb ports. one side is different than the other. when you plug printer into usb and then connect to computer your mac should find it... so idk.. make sure you installed everything properly and is compatible. hope this helps.

Would be easier to help you if you included the MAKE and MODELof the printer, then we d KNOW if it has an ethernet port to connect to.

do you mean ethernet instead of earthnet by chance?
