Do the manual ink refillers for printers really work? -
I have always refilled my printer ink cartridge (the black one anyway). I took the lid off the first one, so that I could see how the inside was arranged. Then, on the next one I drilled a tiny hole in the proper spot and squeezed the ink into the sponge within the ink chamber. (Not too much, mind you). I have only overfilled one cartridge and been forced to replace it since I began refilling black ink. Take your time. Be methodical. I think it s worth the time and the effort. Just because Western Civilization is throw-away doesn t mean you must be.
It is very messy, a hassle, aggrevating, and just not worth it..... Try buying discount cartridges...... Google it and indtead of paying $25.00, you end up paying like $7.00 to $12.00 per cartridge...
I understand that Staples refills cartridges as I m sure some other office supply stores probably do. Try searching in your area for available places that do it. Refilling can be a very messy process and buying the supplies isn t always the cheaper way to go. Here is a supplier that sells 2nd source manufactured cartridges. I ve had excellent luck with them over the years and their cartridges work very well in my new Epson R380 photo printer. http://imarketcity.com Hope this helps.
I made a terriable mess when I tried. I wouldn t recommend it.
most printer manufactures now I have computer chips in their ink cartriges, these chips store whether or not the cartrige is used up, so regardless of whether or not you ve injected ink into the cartridge the printer won t use it. Some of the new kits come with something that suposedly resets these chips, I don t know if it actually works though.
I would get new ones
