How Laser printer works in comparison to an inkjet printer? -

Which type of printer would you recommend to students? Why? What are the major differences between the printers?

Laserprinters quot;bakequot; a thin layer of powder on the paper Inktjets spray the paint on the paper... I currently use a color laser for daily use, good graphic quality (no photo quality) and for the high grade stuff i use a epson photo printer (inktjet) So again, for every day school use, a laser is fine. Just look fo the best price you can get and be sure to use the correct paper, else no printer will give good results...

I would recommend the laser printer because it is cheaper to run, the laser cost more to buy but you will get a lot more pages out of one toner cartridge than the ink cartridge, a toner cartridge yield an average is 2500 pages and cost to buy the cartridge ? now ink cartridges average about 400 pages at how much per cartridge ? go toner it s much cheaper.

Inkjet for students THe differences are prices, speed, quality. :)

lazers are faster in printing, but inkjet are to my experience neater. A student should get an inkjet for better quality.

Why does hp keep moving the holes in the ink cartridge? -

Does someone at their corporate office sit there and find ways to stop us from refilling them? Or is there a reason behind it?

HP is always playing with the venting system to decrease their failure rate. Currently out of the box about 0.25% of all HP cartridge just won t work. Hp is working to decrease this and the main area outside of ink tech is the venting system. All you you need to do is peel the label off.

Please, can anybody loan me an installation disk for a Lexmark Z25 printer? -

I have mislaid mine and I need to install it on another laptop. I will return it immediately and reimburse your postage. Please don t advise me to download the driver online, for some reason I can t do it, I ve tried !

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER… There s the drivers you need for that printer. You don t need the CD, only download the drivers.

Not sure but believe I have that disk! ;-)=

How much toner do i need to put in my printer? -

I m planning on refilling the cartridge in a printer for the first time. I ve got all the instructions and Im pretty positive i know what to do. Its a samsung ML2010 series e. I have 3 bottles of toner. each 85grams. Will one bottle be enough? Or do i need to use more? or do i just fill the cartridge to the top?

Follow the directions provided. One thing the directions will not tell you is that toner dust is pretty toxic stuff, make sure you are wearing a fine particulate mask and filling in an extremely well ventilated area. Secondly did they send you a smart chip or roller assembly? You cartridge will most likely not function properly without replacing both. Third, not all toner is created equal. Ensure you have the correct toner for your model printer. If you are using too dense, to light or a toner with a different melting point that what the OEM specs are you run the risk of doing permanent damage to your fuser assembly and therefore your printer. When we reman an ML2010 we do so by the complete weight of the assembly (excluding the roller and gear assembly which we replace after the toner has been added). how much toner will be needed depends upon how much toner you have left. A lot of printers will prematurely tell you that your cartridge is empty.

If you have all the instructions , why ask the question, just read? how big is the cartridge in capacity? If your not sure after reading the instruction, I would leave it to the professional refillers, because if you don t take the necessary precautions. you got a big mess to clean and breathing in that stuff can be hazardous to your health? Without proper breathing protection and confined spaces? Good Luck, I would read the dangers labels on side of cartridges? Disposal is another issue if your into looking after the enviroment?

Yes, one bottle/85grams is enough for this cartridge.

How can I print the same document to two different printers concurrently in Windows? -

I don t think you can do that from Word, maybe Excel creating a couple of macros but I think it is just easier to send the job first to one printer and then to the other.

You cannot easily print to 2 seperate printers at the same time, assuming you mean press print, get a copy of each machine. Simply print 1 copy to each printer. Back in the days of the old dot matrix printers that simply quot;receivedquot; data a simple mechanical unit could split the signal 2 ways, but with modern printers that communicate back to thepC, can t be done that way. IF you run a server setup it might be possibly to duplicate jobs in 1 queue to reprint on a 2nd printer, but only if they use same drivers, eg 2 similar laser printers.

You need to install another printer in order to do this. Go to Control Panel gt; Printers gt; Install new printer. The printer will need to be connected to the computer by either a network or USB cable. Add the second printer in your folder and then when pritning in your document gt; select the desired printer.

How do i set priority to one printer device over the other printer device? -

How do I make the ink level chart show? -

We have an hp printer. We had to have our system restarted, amp; the chart now won t show our ink levels. We haven t been able to figure out how to do this. Keep directions simple please.

Each company has it s own version of this. The main thing you can look for is -gt; Diagnostics. Startgt;Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs, HPgt;HP printer software. Whatever HP is calling their software for the printer. HP printer utility?) Also there should be a Help Guide. Look under -gt;Replacing Ink Cartridges. Ink levels should be listed here also. With my Epson Stylus CX4800, all |I have to do is double-click on the printer icon in my taskbar. (Bar across the bottom of your monitor screen) This comes up with an ink level chart.

How can I change the default printer in Microsoft Money? -

When I try to print reports, it goes to the wrong printer.

Microsoft Money uses the default printer set in Printers and Faxes folder in Control Panel. Try setting it there. EDIT: I think there is a problem with MS Money, that it cannot recognize newly installed printers. Good day, Andrej.

How do i print from my laptop to my desktop printer? -

my printer is an HP 7150 and is connected only to my desktop computer (which is XP, my laptop is Vista). I ve read that you can plug in your printer to the router and that should work, but is that true or not? email me if you need additional information to fully understand my dilema, thank you.

There are two options: 1) If the printer is network capable (looked around a little bit online, couldn t see that it was), you can plug it into your router and install it via its IP address 2) Since the printer is already installed on the desktop computer, you can set up print sharing over your home network. The only drawback to this is that the desktop computer will have to be powered on when printing from the laptop. To set up print sharing, both computers have to be either part of the same domain or workgroup. I m assuming this is just a home network, so you will be setting up a workgroup. On both your laptop and desktop computers, right-click on My Computer and go into Properties. Click on the quot;Change..quot; button and select the Workgroup radio button if it is not. The name of your workgroup doesn t matter, it just has to be the same for both computers. Once the workgroup is set up, go to the desktop computer. Go into Control Panel and bring up Printers and Faxes. Right-click on the printer you want to share and go to quot;Sharing..quot; Click the radio button to share the printer. The name for the printer should look like this: \\workgroupname\printername Just like the name of the workgroup, the printer name doesn t matter. I d suggest simply putting in the model # (HP 7150) to make it more easily identified. To add the printer on the laptop, go into Control Panel then Hardware and Sound. Click on Add a printer, and choose to install a network printer. Forgive me since I am not a Vista user and do not know the exact location of this box, but you should have the option to type in the network location. The network location is \\workgroupname\printername You shouldn t have to install any drivers since the printer is essentially hosted on the desktop computer.

The easiest way to do this would be to share the printer throught the desktop. You can only plug it into the router if it is netwok-capable with ethernet. If you have windows, right-click on the printer icon on the desktop, go properties, then sharing. Once you complete that, use the laptop to install the printer by searching the network for the shared printer. You will have to install a driver for it on the laptop.

First of all to connect your printer to router your printer should have network support. Your printer doesn t have so its out. However, your laptop should be able to connect to your desktop through the router. So share the printer on the desktop, Go to printer and faxes.. right click on the printer and share. Now use the vista machine to browse the network, you will see your xp desktop and the printer attached to it. Add it to Vista and print it through the desktop.

Not sure about your model, but yes, some printers can be connected directly to a router. However, you can still print via your laptop, even if the printer is connected to your desktop. To do this, you will need to have both computers connected to the same router (wirelessly is fine for your laptop). Enable File and Printer Sharing on your desktop (look at a tutorial online on how to do this, it s very easy), and set your laptop to be able to detect network computers (see the Network and Sharing Center on your laptop). As long as both computers are in the same Workgroup (i.e. quot;network namequot;), your laptop should be able to quot;seequot; the printer on your desktop and use it.

where the printer is there should be a usb cable that connects to desktop computer follow it to desktop computer unplug it and plug it into your laptop just like any other usb cable turn on printer print and make sure you have selected the right printer

Easiest way is to use a USB Share Switch. Amazon.com.

How to add a printer to ur computer? -

I mean i want to know how to add a printer virtually and also want to know how to take a copy of a particular webpage like an image?

install software and plugin usb connector, most Apple and Win computers do have standar printer and will be able to use most standard printers even without install, same in most Linux OS. In your browser is a print option, which will do the page in front be printed. CMD P or CTRL P will do the trick mostly..

A copy of a particular webpage like an image? While you have what you are trying to print on the screen - you press ALT+Ctrl+PrintScreen (printscreen is located on you keyboard between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock Key. You can then paste this into a Microsoft Word Document or etc.

Printers require a driver be installed, whether shared by another computer on a network or physically plugged into your computer. Install the printer, select that printer. Alt-Print Scrn will create a snap shot for pasting into a document. Good Luck

when you are on the web page click file then print...

Why am I unable to print more than one page of mail received by e-mail although print preview is used? -

My computer and printer are HPs. When I seek to print more than one page of an e-mail, although I first select the print preview, oftentimes only one page will print although more than one page is selected. This is so even when I reduce the size of the font for printing purposes.

Reducing the font size should have nothing to do with it, it sounds like you have the print Current Page or Page 1 to 1 button pressed. I d skip print preview and go straight for print, and make sure All is selected. Worse case scenario, you can go to Edit gt; Select All, then to Print and print Selection. Tip: for select all on document (Ctrl-A).

Are the ink cartridges for the Epson printers C68 and D68 the same? -

The C68 is a US model and the D68 is a UK model. Are the ink cartridges interchangeable?

Yes, they should work. Many times compatible cartridges that are produced overseas will bear one or the other, but not both. In my experience the D68s have worked fine with US printer models. Unfortunately I can t say whether or not the C68 will work with the UK version of the printer.

well you find the names of compatible printers on the sticker that comes with the ink cartridges

What type of printer should I buy that can print 8x11 and also 8x17 etc.? -

I want a printer that I can use at home but won t cost me a thousand dollars, I need to print 8x17 pieces of paper and other special types... any ideas?

The Epson color stylus 1400 goes to 13 x 19. It s a 5-color plus black printer. The best warranty in the industry. For a year, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it. You can get cartridges for Epsons from http://www.ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold about double the ink of standard cartridges. I ve been using them for years.

How can you tell which inkjet container is out of ink? -

My old HP Deskjet 930C tells me that one of the ink cartridges is empty - how do I figure out which one (sure - I should do it by weight with a digital scale mounted on a shelf behind the printer - but i didn t get the starting weight, so tell me another method, pls)

Dont you think it would be the lightest one?

HP websites provides solutions to all printer related queries. Hope the below websites answer your queries: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum… http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum…

Look at the printer program on your computer if possible. If not look for printer and hardware then it should tell you within the printer section, may be different getting there depending on your OS.

If it don t print color its the color one. If it don t print black it the black one. Brilliant aint I.

What is a good multifunction printer to buy? -

I want to buy a color laser multifunction (all-in-one) printer with an auto feeder and auto duplex scanning and printing. Do you know a good one? It s for home use so I don t want it to be too expensive... Thanks! :-)

I ve bought on this sitehttp://www.fullfillcartridge.com, good quality, you can go look at the

A color laser multifunction with auto feeder and auto duplex that isn t expensive? You ll have to define your meaning of expensive. It will probably set back at least $500. You might want to think about: -a monochrome laser for $50-$60 or a color laser without all the bells and whistles and then a separate all-in-one inkjet for $100 or less. I bought a Samsung CLP-300 color laser for $80 after rebate. It s been chugging along fine and it s still on the original toners. For inkjets, as someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson and have had no down time since. Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. Most of their printers use one of two types. The three-color plus black use T069 (CX5000 CX6000 CX7000 CX7400 CX7450 CX8400 CX9400FAX CX9475Fax NX100 NX105 NX400 Workforce 30/40/500/600 and C120) and the 5-color plus black use T078 (R260 R280 R380 RX580 RX595 and RX680). This means you should be able to find a lot of people who use the same cartridges you do and possibly buy in quantity. When it s time to replace the printer, the next model will probably also use the same ones. Though I am quite happy with the results of the CX8400, if you really want the absolute best photo quality, go with one of the 5-color ones. Some of the models above include scanner and/or printing on DVDs. The biggest complaint about all inkjets is the high cost of ink cartridges. http://ccs-digital.com has cartridges for about $4.50 each. They also have a unique product - a two-piece cartridge where the ink is in a separate tank inside the cartridge. When the ink runs out, you replace just the ink tank and the original chip resets itself to full. By keeping the same chip, you save 1.50 per cartridge. Ink tanks are only $3 and hold 50% more ink than disposable cartridges.

Where do you buy Dell and Lexmark inkjet cartridges online? -

I know about Staples and OfficeDepot/Max. I am looking for other online companies that offer free shipping and good quality refurbished/compatible cartridges in the US that you have personally used and not just googled. Thanks

I heard that using them kills your warranty

i personally go to http://www.printerinkshop.net

My kodak easyshare series 3 printer is printing scratches and blurs and making a stuttering sound? -

I haven t used it in a while, and now its making a loud stuttering sound and printing scratches and blurs and out of focus pictures. I ve tried several different cartridges and different paper as well...any ideas?

The rollers are clogged up with dirt and dried ink. Clean with acetone and run the deep head clean before running check head alignment then print test page.

Mine just had a major software update to keep up with the Windows updates...have a look at that aspect, but it sounds like a hardware issue mostly. Clean the print heads, located on the bottom of the ink cartridge, with Q-tips soaked in alcohol; then check print head alignment form the Kodak utilities. Adjust as needed.

What is the difference between a regular print cartridge and a Moderate Yield one? -

This is an option with Lexmark. I can use Color 26 / Black 16 or use Moderate Yield Color 27 / Black 17. What s with this?

the difference on that one is. The 16 has 10ml of ink the 17 has 5ml. The 26 has 6ml of ink the 27 has 3ml. Moderate yield in terms of lexmark means they have only half filled the cartridges.

Never heard of quot;moderate yieldquot;, but with HP they used to have a regular cart, and a high-capacity cart, but then HP carts always had much more ink than the tiny Lexmark ones. :)

Can anyone tell me what proxy to use for an HP Desktop F4280? -

I am trying to set up this printer as a network shared printer. On my laptop running Vista, when I get to the part to install the driver, this model is not on the HP list. It says if the model isn t on the list, to consult the manual for the appropriate model to use. But I don t see it in the manual.

How long does laser printer ink typically last? -

Could somebody give me an estimate on this? I m a student and don t print much everyday, just when I need to print stuff for school. Also, would going to a laser printer be the right way for my needs?

Laser printing has several advantages over ink-jet printing, the biggest one being cost per page. While laser printers are notoriously much more expensive than their ink-jet brethren, they also yield about twice the page output per dollar. I have a Brother HL-2040 series laser printer that I picked up for 100 bucks at Staples. The toner cartridge can last for about 5000 pages, at a price of 60 bucks. So that means I get 5000 pages per 160 dollars initially. Not bad compared to paying 30 bucks a cartridge for ink-jet and only yielding about 500 pages. Thing is, if you bought a laser printer that came with toner, you re not getting a full set of toner. What you get instead is something known as a starter set. In my case, the starter toner that came with my printer yields about 1500 pages. Still not bad, considering I got all that for $100. If your laser printer is new and it came with toner, it will certainly yield less than if you went out and bought a new toner cartridge for it today. Either way, you ll make out in the end if you go with a laser printer because (a) it s much faster, (b) it s more cost effective (I m a student, too) and (c) the toner is heat bonded. Heat bonded means that if the paper gets moist, the ink won t run - like it would if you used ink-jet. I really enjoy this feature because, on a wet and rainy day, I d hate to hand in a lab report or research paper that looked like crap. Laser looks much nicer. My advice: get the laser. You ll be happier in the end.

Usually between 2 to 3 years, depending on the usuage.

well, my moms office has two and they usuallly run out in 4-5 months but we print ALOT of stuff. like over 200-300pgs a day.

Ok I figured out how to take screenshots. But can you take them without a printer? -

Ok I figured out how to take screenshots. But can you take them without a printer? If not is there anything you can download where you can?

Ok. So you figured out that if you hit the Prt Scrn button, it captures an image of the screen onto the clipboard, and you can then paste the results (CTRL-V or Edit-Paste) into any image program... like paint (start - all programs - accessories - paint)... and then save it is a JPG or a BMP or whatever you want. How does a printer figure into this?

I also want to know. Anybody can tell me? http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx… http://www.toboc.com/forum3/DEFAULT.ASPX…

Yes. No printer need. Just because you use the Prt Scrn Button, doesn t mean you need a printer. That is an old expression from the mainframe computer days.
