My printer makes a noise in the middle of the night? -

Usually a few days after I print something in the middle of the night I hear what it seems like to be turning on. It makes that noise of the cartridges moving. Any idea on why the printer does that? It s a Dell All-In-One and for 2 years it s been doing it.

You probably have it in quot;ready statequot; standby mode so the printer is keeping the ink jets primed for ready use. Turn the power completely off the printer to stop this.

my Lexmark x3470 does it every day.

It s those Gremlins. Turn it off.

It s scared of the dark. Leave a small light on for it, and it will stay quiet.
