What is the perforated edge on photo paper for? -

I got this new quot;HP Premium Photo Paperquot; The box says it s 4x6 with a perforated edge. What do you do with the little edge piece? You take it off before you put it in the printer?

Actually, you feed it into the printer holding the perforation. After it s done printing, and the ink has had time to dry, you tear the perforated edge off, and you have a 4x6 photo.

I suggest that you use Visual Photo++.It is a powerful utility that uniquely supports to browse photos with popup thumbnails and enhance the photos with lots of advanced auto image processing algorithms. Visual Photo++ is not only a comprehensive application ideal for acquiring, organizing, viewing, and sharing your images, but also a powerful photo enhancing software for automatically adjusting image s exposure, color, despecking image s noise and so on.

I think with photo paper, the print loses quality rapidly as it gets toward the edge( cause you hold the still wet photo by the edges and stuff........so you can just tear off the bad quality part at the edge, after you ve printed.

Sounds like you purchased Tractor paper. It was used in old Dot Matrix printers. You can still use the paper in an Ink Jet printer but you will need to remove the edge(s). It tears off easily.
