You do not need a laptop but you do need a computer to do the printing, for this task it would make no difference if it was a large tower or mini-tower, PC or Mac. You would just need a photo editing program that runs on your system. A good color printer for this purpose would be any of the HP photo printers or Kodak dedicated photo printers.
