How can I install my printer onto my new computer without the instalation CD? -

I have an HP printer that I ve had for a while now but I lost the instalation CD. I just recentlybought a Mac laptop (I m brand spewing so people can better help me.) and wanted to instal this printer onto it. . Can this be done and if so how would I go about doing this? Thanks!

Go to the printer manufacturer website and download the driver for your specific model. CD s are useless anyway as long as you have an internet connection. The driver CD is usually out of date by the time you get the product. Some CD s do however, have programs on them. Again though, usually the manufacturer website has an updated version. Also check for a firmware update. Firmware updates the product. It is not the same as a driver.

Go to the maufacturer s site, suchas HP, Epson, etc. Look for drivers and download the drivers for your system according to the directions. Or if you are running windows, just plug in your printer and let Microsoft find an appropriate driver.

Simply go to the manufacturer s website (i.e. HP, IBM, etc) and download the drivers. They re probably more up-to-date than the installation CD anyway.
