How do I print off a file from a pdf, like a insurance form for example? -

When I tried to print the form it said what file do I want to put it in. I didn t know what to do the printer would not print without it.

when you send it to print, be sure the printer its trying to quot;printquot; to is a regular printer - do not print it to pdf. when you print to pdf, its trying to make a brand new pdf, which is why its asking you where to save it.

Why do you have to buy ink only from the Dell company ? -

Does anyone know if it can be purchased else where?

You certainly don t! Dell printers are made by quot;Lexmarkquot;. So you can go to any office supply store or best buy, take your old cartridge with you and find the equivalent, either Dell or Lexmark. hope this helps

The ink is where the money is. They lose money on printers so they can sell you the ink.

Actually, that s not true at all. They d love for you to order it from them because they re getting rich off of it lol. Radio Shack, Staples, Best Buy,,they all have ink fairly inexpensive. Larry RadioShack 01-9590

because you have a dell printer?

Ink is ink but the cartridge it goes into will only fit certain printers. So you must buy the correct cartridge for your printer unless you use a cartridge refill system which includes some type of syringe. Then you inject the ink into your original cartridge amp; replace back in printer.

Yes You Can They Just Don t Guarantee It And Prolly Will Void Your Printer Warranty.....

if you mean ink cartridges - personally have a Lexmark and can purchase my specific or most compatible cartridges at WalMart or local discount store

How do i prevent the ink from an ink jet printer from smudging? -

when i print something out and i accidentally touch it the ink smudges the ink? how can i prevent this from happening?

This is depends on what is your printer model. Some printer model use dye and pigment based ink. (Dye based ink is a water based ink that easily smudge but has rich in color characteristic). If your printing result was smudge, most likely your printer is using dye based ink. You can not change that. That is the feature of your printer. You can use inkjet paper instead of plain paper but it still smudge if you touch it with your wet finger. I suggest, you leave it the printing result for a few minutes to dry completely.

Use good quality inkjet paper. It is more absorbent and takes less time to dry than ordinary paper. However it still won t dry up instantly so you still have to be careful not to touch it right out of the printer.

Wait for it to dry.

Spray it with hairspray, the alcohol content absorbs moisture

Why does toner always seem to just go dead on one part of the cartridge? -

Even after you shake a little more life into, it dies in the exact same spot every time. Does anybody know why?

charcinders : He said quot;Tonerquot; not ink, so wiping the quot;nozzlesquot; can t work, toner carts DO NOT have nozzles, they have a developer roller if they are a quot;one piecequot; cartridge, or it ll feed into a developer drum instead. Generally if it s a smaller machine with all in one type toner/dev cartridges there is a small clump of toner has developed around the dev roller. If you remove the cartridge with the problem and VERY CARFULLY take a straightened paper clip and run it along the top of the metal guide where the toner seems to sit, then rollthe roller back/formward with it s cog to see id the blockage moves. Other thatn quot;trying to openquot; the cartridge there s really nothing else to try, and opening it is NOT a good idea, believe me you will NOT get it together again

Can t tell you why it seems to be same spot as you failed to mention WHAT SPOT that is ! And if there is a blockage in that area it will stay in that area, If it s the same from multiple cartridges contact their maker for help, let them know they have a problem Report Abuse

You mean the dreaded quot;stripesquot;? Could be a blocked nozzle. Try cleaning it gently with a damp tissue. It s the little metal plate with the tiny tiny holes in it.

How do I print to my printer from my wiresless laptop? -

I have wireless internet in my house and what im wondering is how do i connect my printer to my laptop useing my wireless internet.... im useing a wireless dsl router that is hooked to my dsl modem. the router is connected to my desktop computer useing plug number 1.... how do i set everything up so i can print to my computer the printer is plugged into my desktop computer and they are both running windows xp. im new to this whole wireless thing... and advice would be appriciated...

First if you haven t done so set your workgroup name to something of your choosing but do this the same on both machines this is found by right clicking my computer and selecting the Computer name tab then clicking the change button on both machines and typing in the exact name of your choosing into the text box next to workgroup. restart both after this chance has been made Then goto the printers and faxes folder (found in the control panel) on the computer that the printer is hocked to and right click the print r you want to share. Then select sharing... Then goto add a printer on your wireless device by going to the printers and faxes folder then click add a printer choose network printer in the second dialog box Then for a printer the next window should show the name of the PC your printer is on click to + next to it and you should see your printer select it and choose yes in the connect to printer popup the finish out the wizard. Hope this helps Good Luck and God Bless.

You can do this. First , share the printer in your desktop and search it from the laptop. Thats so simple..

You need to share the printer on the desktop machine, and search for it on your wireless laptop as A0909 B had said. What I am not so sure about is whether u can share a printer which does not have network capabilities . Hopefully someone will be able to complete my answer for u. Good Luck!

OK I m not good with the whole wireless thing that much but i think that if every thing is Huck up to the desktop then you should just be able to press print from your laptop and if you have the printer turned on it should go to the printer try and see just print something and see what the out come is.

on the desktop, go to control panel, printers and you should be able to turn on file and printwer sharing there

There s a USB cable coming out of the printer and going into the CPU of the desktop unit.Take this cable out of the CPU and connect it to the laptop.Turn the power on of the printer.NOW PLEASE PRINT FROM THE LAPTOP.

I am trying to do the same thing, except without a desk top computer. I think you can connect the printer to your router directly, either using an ethernet cable if your computer has one or if your printer only has a usb you can buy an adaptor that turns your usb port into an ethernet one. is this correct? can others verify?

Yes I have an epson Stylus CX3800 series every thing when i go to print is in french. I d just like to know how to change it. Please help if you can.

Uninstall the current driver and any other software that came with your printer, then reinstall the English version. If you have the installation CD, be sure you select English when you reinstall. If you don t have the CD, or your CD does not provide an option to install the English version, download the latest drivers and software from the Epson website. You can find downloads for your printer at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo…

How does a inkjet printer know if the cartridge has any ink left? -

My computer won t print black (with a new cartridge) because it says the color ink is dry. How does that work? Is there a way to fool the printer so it thinks it has ink?

It s depend what printer make you have. - Epson - cartridge have chip on it that you can reset with chip resetter http://fillserv.com/products/chipresette… - Canon - you can reset chip by holding cancel button - HP, Lexmark and Dell - printer itself count ink drops and remember 3 cartridges. In this case quot;R Jquot; suggestion will work.

borrow 2 cartridges from some one of same no. then replace your catridge with 1st cartidge (mark it) ON your printer let it check then OFF replace 1st catridge with 2nd one, ON your printer let it check again, OFF. Replace your cartidge and ON your printer, check your ink status it will show FULL. Start printing with black ink, your printer will think it s a new catridge because it memory can hold only two catridge s identity.

The print cartridge has a little chip in it that counts and uses time. Many of them have ink left but the time expired. On my dads printer, I found a little application that reset the counter/timer and he refilled it himself. Google for your printer model and the words counter reset.

The printer software will update you.But as far as printer is concerned it as a sensor which notifies the printer So that the offline line led will glow

Because they re programmed that way.

first remove cover from nozzle cartridge then you clean cartridge by property printer I hope help you

can you print black and white, grey out color option!?

Re-install the printer and use his designated driver(not from the windows) Choose option full or Custom install. There s a tool box include if you fully install driver. After you install run the tool box and these will tell you the status of your ink , if you are running out of ink or full.

How do i clean the heads of my printer? -

i am having trouble with my picture mate and i think i may need to clean my jet heads or something??

Open the printer case (front door? top?) and the movable carriage should reset to the middle of the machine for easy access. Most cartridges snap or pop into this assembly. Snap yours out (mine have always been a tipping then lifting action); then to clean, get some rubbing alcohol (Listerine will do in a pinch) and Q-tips; dip the tip into alcohol and rub this over the bottom of the cartridge (there is a group of small metal tabs amp; gizmo s); repeat until the tips no longer have red/green/ or other colors on them. Re-insert cartridge in reverse of extraction method.

How to make web site font larger when printing? -

Tried to print material from web sit - font so small difficult to read. Can it be made larger?

Go to view, which is located on the top left side of your monitor, go to text size , and pick the size suitable for your viewing. : )

In most browsers, you can click on the toolbar button that says quot;viewquot; and then select quot;text sizequot; and change the text to five different sizes: largest, larger, medium, smaller, and smallest. If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and scroll up with the scroll wheel to make the text smaller and scroll down with the scroll wheel to make the text larger.

in the view menu then text size

How do I get my printer to print larger. No matter what I print, it comes out very small? -

I would like to know how to make my printer print larger. I can t seem to get it to do that and the printing is so small I can t read it.

The problem is usually in the computer and not the printer. Un install and reinstall the software for your printer. Use the install disc that came with the printer and read any information that is presented. You should have a wide variety of font styles, sizes, colors etc. Also check the connections.

Just got a digital camera -- now i need to buy a printer. What kind of inexpensive printer would you suggest? -

you would be fine with a 30 dollar printer from wal-mart http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d… those work very well especially for the price and my mother has done well with one for the last year

Lexmark makes some great printers for under $50. Although sometimes they eat up the color ink fast especially with photos.

first , I would look for the cheapest ink and then buy a printer that uses that type, printers are cheap but ink is rediculously priced and refilling almost never works

HP

Office Depot got some made by Kodak which are about $ 150, which Kodak claims is good.

The new line of Kodak printers use ink that costs about half of what everybody else charges. The pictures looked like lab quality. The one they were selling at Wal mart (model 5100) was a particularly good deal.

i got a very cheap dell......its great if you only want to do letters but terrible quality for photos or anything that requires great detail....... actually i would get a printer that can take 2 ink cartridges, one for color and one for black......otherwise when you print black it will use the colored ink to make black......waste of money

The cost of the printer is not the only cost you need to consider. You also need to consider the cost of replacement ink/toner. I recommend Canon printers http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro…

If you re going to print mostly text, get a laser printer. You can find a very good black and white laser printer in the low $200. The laser printer lasts longer, requires less maintenance and the toner doesn t have to be replaced too often. The cost per page is much much lower for laser printers than inkjet printers. For the occasional photos, take them to Walmart or a local lab. If you re thinking about only printing 4x6 size, then get a compact photo printer and use it only for photos.

Cheap printers are false economy, I used to have a magazine that listed the best performing ones but I must have thrown it away. Cheap printers can use up ink at a frightening rate and give poor color reproduction; a good printer will cost twice as much but the ink will last twice as long and give a better print quality, so it s cheaper in the long run. You might be better off taking most of your pictures to a store to have them printed, it is often cheaper than using your own printer.

I have been quite pleased with HP printers. When printing photographs, you can print them on regular paper, but you will not get the quality print you would probably want without using the special papers designed for making photographic prints. Edit: egf247 is quite correct. The costs of the ink cartridges are often the most expensive item associated with printing photos.

I suggest u get a color laser rather than inkjet.. though laser might b costlier, its maintenance cost will be less...

Is it more conventional to print photos at home or in a store? -

I recently bought an inkjet printer that allows me to print 4x6 photos, but I wonder if it will save me money on the long run or will it just make me spend more money buying ink.

You will probably spend a lot of money on ink and good quality photo paper. It is so cheap now to get photos printed online or at stores (like Costco, Target, Walmart, etc.), and they can be of better quality than your printer might produce.

The average cost for using a photo printer at home, including ink, and paper comes out to about 12 cents per print. The cost for purchasing prints at target, walmart, etc, is usually about 15 cents a print. The cost of the printer is usually about $200 to $400. If ur going to print larger than 4x6 the savings are definitely yours to be had on your own printer, as stores charges quite more for 5x7s and larger, but if ur printer prints 5x7s and larger, you ll save money printing these at home, and if ur printing these at home anyway, then go ahead and print your 4x6s at home also. Of course, one other convenience is that by printing them at home, if your printing anything of a discreet subject matter, you don t have to worry about the idiots at walmart or wherever seeing and possibly copying your prints for themselves. good luck, whichever route you take.
