I need to print labels onto a group of blank DVDs which contain a documentary about an art project I was involved in.

You can either get a DVD burner with the lightscribe feature and label them that way... OR Buy some CD/DVD printable labels, print on them and stick them on the DVDs. As the above answer states, the lightscribe labels will not be in color...they look more like embossed on the CD/DVD. With the self-adhesive labels, you ll be able to print labes in color.

First of all, ordinary DVD s can NOT be printed on through a regular dvd burning drive. For labeling applications you need a lightscribe drive; and lightscribe cds. There is not much variety color wise using lightscribe. But it does create great looking standard labels.

You left out a lot of important info on this setup. You say it is a wireless printer - so I will assume it is set up on a wireless network. If that network is using MAC address security settings, you will need to add your laptop to the list of trusted computers in the routers control settings. I will assume you are logged onto the network properly. And thus can see the printer. Have you installed the drivers for the printer on your computer, setting it up as a NETWORK printer and NOT a local printer. If you made the mistake of not switching the setup to be a network printer, then you will only be able to print through another computer that has the printer set up as a network printer. If you think you may have made this error, then run the Add Printer wizard again, and this time tell it you are adding a network printer. The wizard will look on the network and should find the printer. Then have it install the print driver software on your laptop, and print a test page. One last possible issue, but you did not say that you were using a print server to make the printer wireless. Many systems by default have the print server protocols turned off. You may have to enable this to be able to send print commands to the printer, if it is using a print server to communicate. Look in the Windows Firewall settings, or in the settings of any other firewall your system is using.

Where can our office recycle a GENERIC toner cartridge? -

if you want to be able to print from any computer even when the computer attched to the printer is turned off, you will need a wireless print server. (I assume you have a wireless router). Otherwise you can just share the printer. In windows go start/control panel/printers. Right-click your printer icon and you will see option for sharing. This printer will now be visible on your network and can be selected for printing.

you can make a network by going to start/my networks/start home network... go through the steps and do this on each cpu. Then make sure the firewall doesn t block it by using ip address for network.

I have a HP LJ 1018 and it works great. The printer linked here is the next generation of my printer - for $100 you can t really beat it. HP also has a lot of mail-in rebates floating around so you might be able to get it cheaper.

Look up the 800 # for H.P. call and ask what they have in refurbished. You can get them for next to nothing, with a warranty.

HP printers are excellent and have better print quality, but the ink is more expensive. Brother printers are about the same price, and the ink is less expensive. The print quality is not quite as, but acceptable. Go to Office Depot and Best Buy to demo a few models.

My printer keeps on saying fax making it unable to print from the computer. How can i make it say printer? -

I have a hp office jet 4215 all in one printer-fax-scanner- copier. I do not have it connected to the phone line just to the computer, howver it says fax. I tried to print something but it wont because it is in fax mode not in printer mode. There are three buttons one which says fax the other scan and the other copy. But there is no printer one. Not unless your printer does duplex printing automatically. Try adjusting the paper guides to position the paper properly. Sorry. EDIT: You do know that you don t have to print one page at a time, don t you? Do this: 1. Press CTRL/P. 2. Check the Manual Duplex checkbox. This will cause Word to print one side of all the sheets, then tell you to put the stack back in so it can print the other side.

Ink cartridges are deliberately designed not to allow refilling. This is for good reason. In addition to the chip which knows that the cartridge was empty and wont work unless it is reprogrammed (and some do not allow resetting), an empty cartridge starts to develop ink clots because the residue was exposed to air. When you add new ink, those clots travel to the heads and block them. Refilling is a great way to kill your printer. Every day there are several messages here from someone who found out the hard way. If you want to save money, buy brand new (not remanufactured) compatible cartridges. You can find them for under $3 and some hold 50% more ink than standard. You should get a USB Share Switch 2 PC s to 3 Devices. You connect both computers to the switch and printer to the switch and you re in business. I bought my switch from Amazon.com [$10]. I use a Mac, a Toshiba computers and an Epson Inkjet and a Samsung Laser printers. Works like a charm.

As far as brands go, HP is hands down the best on the market. Both for home and business use. The biggest question you have to answer is: will you be printing a lot on it in terms of volume? If so, then any of the deskjet printers have small volume size cartridges that aren t going to last very long and will eat your wallet alive with replacements. Not to mention the frustration of constantly having to replace the ink. If you can afford a laserjet, that s what I d recommend. You should get a Lexmark X5650. Its an all in one printer/copier/fax and its only $100. I have one and the ink is only about $25. They are really easy to handle and great if you do alot of paperwork. Also this specific printer has a input place in the front for your laptop. Hope this helps!!!

You enlarge the text in the program, such as microsoft word. Look for fonts, and change the size there. You don t change it in the printer.
