How do I get my printer to work? Without the owners manual? -

I have an x1270 Lexmark printer/scanner. It won t print at ALLgt; I have low black ink, but the color is almost full. I ve tried the troubleshooting but it wasn t much help.It won t even let me print color. Any suggestions?

Try the following! 1.)Reinstall (overwrite or uninstall, try either way) the Printer Driver (together with your printer during purchase) because you might have a driver compatibility issue. 2.)Try connecting your printer to your friend s pc and install the printer driver before printing. (If it works, then something wrong on your OS setting or Motherboard) 3.) Buy new cartridge (if possible color and black) because almost all printers comes with cartridges 1/3 and not full ink. Although printers will tell you that you still have full or low ink, some of these warnings are just approximate value because it does not rely on how heavy the graphics is during printing but it rely on the page count. 4.)High end printers usually have sensors to monitor your ink and all have smart chip in the ink cartridge that would determine the page count. Although you could fool the sensor that monitors the ink quantity, but you could not fool the smart chip on its counting. Still you will resort to buy new cartridge. Hope this help.

See if you might be able to download a manual by googling the model. This is a different model #, but you could try the suggestions. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/… or you could try this. http://tech.yahoo.com/gd/troubleshooting… Last resort, call Lexmark tech support. I just read where someone stayed on the line with a techie and finally after an hour, discovered the cartridge was outdated, though she had just bought it. Lexmark sent her another and it worked. Last suggestion, if this does not work, buy a different printer. We have a Lexmark at work, and though it works ok for normal printing, if you try printing a check, the rollers jam and the check is gone, and the cartridges at around $28 a piece, which we have replaced twice in the three months I ve been there, cost more than the printer.

well 1 lexmark is bad type of printer what i would do is get a different printer
