Can I set up multiple computers to a shared printer using a router? -

I am using windows xp on two desktops within reach of a speedstreem 6300 router. Is it possible to hook it up so that I can share my printer? (My printer hooks up through a usb port.) If so, what is involved?

For even more flexibility, get a print server. They re cheap. Connect it between your router and your printer. Now any machine on the network can use the printer. Best of all, the printer would stand independently; i.e., you wouldn t have to have the system to which it s connected turned on in order for others to use it, as would be the case if you shared it from a single machine.

Yup it is easy On the main PC select the printer and make it quot;Sharedquot;, Then put the driver for the printer on the rest of the computers. Simple. L
