How can i install my lexmark x4690 nto my new laptop when i have lost the driver disk? -

I downloaded the driver from the lexmark website but it wont work.

Go here http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downlo… and select your printer and choose what OS you have(e.g. vista or xp) then you can download the drivers

Request it again and include the serial number and model number from the plate on rear of the printer. Make sure it is for your operating system. Say if old laptop was Windows XP and the new one is Vista, the download will only work if it is requested for your operating system. If ordered for Windows XP and your operating system is Vista, then it will not work.

heres the link for you http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/… make sure it is for the right operating system if your laptop is new i presume you have vista so make sure you select the right operating system if you still have issue email me for extra advice

You could try an automatic driver update utility. It will identify your devices and locate the proper drivers for them. Go to http://www.pcdriverupdate.com and get the free scan. I m pretty sure it will find what you need. I ve been using that and it has saved me a lot of time. You will be surprised what other drivers your system needs updated as well. I hope it helps.

We just did this lastnight. We plugged in the lexmark to the laptop and turnrd on the power and It found what it needed automatically online. We did not have any of the old disks, hardware. And It actually worked and printed.

call lexmark and order a new disk for your printer
